There’s “bad service”, there’s “terrible service” and then there’s “Bodega de Santiago service”. I don’t need a smile or over the top enthusiasm, let’s be honest, not everyone loves their job, but for a place that markets itself as an “above average” dining experience, you would think that they would make an effort. The only good thing about it is the food. Ultimately, don’t expect any friendliness. In the beginning though everything was fine other than the general indifference, we received our drink, and ordered our starters. In between we got cold bread that they circulate around in a basket and tasteless hard “truffle” butter. But that’s where the service ended… we finished our food, clean plates, and sat there for the next 25 minutes. We still wanted our entrees and dessert, but nobody even looked over at us to take plates away. I had to get up and ask for our bill because otherwise we would have stayed there the whole night. MIND YOU! The restaurant was not busy at all!! It was at around 30-40% capacity. They honestly made it feel like it was because we weren’t dressed appropriately since everyone else seemed like they were receiving service.
