La Bottega Milanese

Visited to see if our memories from the original La Bottega in the Light were as fond as we remembered. It feels like they have completely changed the vibe in this new location and it was oddly very dark in there fur no apparent reason. They have nailed the Italian dark roast style of coffee. If you like that I am sure it is fine. Not for me sadly. They have a bar full of La Marzocco brewers and Mahlkoenig grinders, however as always if you start with super dark roasted beans you will inevitably end up where they do.

Lovely staff, really great coffee and a lovely space. I had the date latte, a winter special, which was delicious and came with a chocolate dipped date. I also had the tiramisu, which was super tasty, fresh thick cream and just amazing. Just super busy as it is so popular, so was a little loud and crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

We stayed at Dakota Leeds opposite La Bottega so dropped in there for breakfast. The pastries and coffee were all absolutely first rate - so much so that we returned the following morning for more!

This is a very stylish and modern establishment, ideally located for anyone with a short wait between trains at Leeds Station. Visiting mid-morning, I found it to be very quiet and a perfect spot for a quick break. Both the coffee and the pastries are excellent, maintaining a high standard that justifies stepping away from the more generic station options. The atmosphere is sleek and well-presented, offering a much more refined experience than your average coffee shop. While the staff were professional and efficient, the quick turnaround makes it more of a place for a high-quality "pit stop" rather than a long chat. It is a reliable and convenient choice for anyone looking for authentic quality in the heart of the city.

This café is an absolute hidden gem! The coffee and matcha were excellent, expertly prepared. The interior boasts a beautifully designed aesthetic, making it an ideal spot to catch up with friends or get some work done in a calm and inviting setting. The baristas and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating such a positive atmosphere- their smiles truly made a difference! On top of that, the café’s branding is stunning, adding to its overall charm. A wonderful place that we’ll definitely be returning to! - didn’t get the chance to try any food, updated review pending !

I had a really great experience at the café recently! The pastries were delicious—fresh and full of flavor—and the flat white was smooth and well-balanced. Service and staff were amazing. I’m definitely looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu options next time.

Great coffee, we love the tiramisu and pistachio cheesecake! It gets really busy and sometimes there isn't a quick turnaround between cleaning the tables and people sitting down, so we cleaned up our own.

The staff here are really friendly, and it’s actually nice seeing them in the mornings before work. The Spanish latte is honestly chef’s kiss. One of the best I’ve had.
