La Botteghina

We have visited this place a few times, and each experience has been great. We ordered the mussels as a starter, and they were good. For the main course, we had two pasta dishes, followed by two desserts. The staff is very friendly. Although the service was slower than typical European standards, we understood that they were busy and it was clear that the open kitchen was a bit behind. I highly recommend this restaurant for a solid meal! :)

We stopped on our day trip to Alguer for lunch at la Botteghina. First we went to the terrace on top, but we asked to go down since it was a hot day and we have a 3 year old child. We ordered Fregula and the pork dish, and both of them were fantastic! Soooo tasty & good, it was a nice suprise! Service was very helpful, they got us a child seat and were always attentive. I would definitive reccomend La Botteghina, and surerly will come back if I am in Alguer again!

Absolutely delicious and authentic restaurant! We ordered fregola and mussels and they were so flavourful and perfectly cooked. The staffs were very friendly and even the owners Giuseppe and Ryan were very welcoming. We were lucky to get a table on the rooftop terrace, which had such a warm and cozy atmosphere. The indoor seating was also very beautiful and lots of tables outside. This place is a hidden gem in Alghero. Highly recommend!

authentic, delicious, friendly ... you name it, you get it We've been at La Botteghina for dinner and it was a great choice. Sitting outside is where you have the mediterranean flair with that merriment on narrow streets you're wishing for when you're in Sardenia. Combined with fantastic dishes like their pasta with shrimp sauce or grilled squid and a good glas of vine, you can't make it better unless you round up with a cafe and seada (a typical Sardinian fried lard dumpling filled with cheese, covered with orange and honey). Absolutly worth a visit ... and a second one.

Nice terrace with very good food. Portions are not huge but tasty. Friendly staff but placing an order in English was quite a challenge. Would recommend.

Really enjoyed our meals here, found the restaurant walking by and admiring the beautiful decor, came back the following evening, we were lucky with timing and had no wait time, the staff were all very polite and attentive, the food service was very fast and all the food was piping hot and fresh!

Superb place to visit irrespective of whether you are eating or drinking or not! Just come please. The music is fabulous and the speakers are placed in amazing places so the sound does not bounce of your ear but a wall or a plant or a cupboard and it becomes exquisite. The lighting is perfect. Shaded but in the hottest part of the day recommend to sit indoors. The staff are wonderful attentive but not overly. Very pleasant. They have good food good brew and very nice service the people were exceptional. I love it!

One of the best meals (if not the best meal) we had while staying in Alghero. They had just opened up but had a line already out the door. They managed to fit our party of two in almost immediately and sat us up on the covered rooftop terrace. The restaurant is small but really beautiful and the smells wafting from the open kitchen were a great indication of the kind of meal we were about to have. We ordered the tuna filet and the gnocchetti to share. Both dishes had been on my bucket list to try since Alghero is known for their bluefin tuna and the gnocchetti is a regional specialty. Oh man, we were not let down. The tuna was the best tuna I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked. Juicy, seasoned to perfection - not in the slightest bit chewy or tough. You didn't even need a knife, it fell right apart. It came with a nice tzatziki sauce and pickled cabbage. The gnocchetti was also delicious and came in a flavorful tomato sauce with hunks of meat. I actually liked the shape of this gnocchi more than normal gnocchi as it was more al dente and had a nice texture. The server also suggested a really nice red wine for me which I appreciated. It was around 20ish euros per person for the entire meal. I highly recommend coming here for a legit meal in Sardegna.

I was looking for the restaurant because it was recommend to us by friends back home. And I'm glad we found it - cause the food was excellent, and the atmosphere in this little restaurant was very different from all the other places we went to in Alghero. We got homemade pasta for the main course and tiramisu for dessert - and it taste delicious! The real Italy for sure... I would recommend booking a table in advance!
