Wow! The food was amazing and fresh. We stopped by for New Years Eve without a reservation and they luckily took us in. We chose the New Years Eve dinner and it did not disappoint. Ever dish was tasty and flavorful. I would come back again in a heartbeat. The waitress was so sweet. 5/5 recommend.

Google
A quiet little restaurant hidden away from the other bustling restaurants. Got seated straight away. The carbonara was the best I’ve ever eaten and at such a reasonable price!

Google
Can not be missed, absolutely delicious. We got a table outside and had a starter, main and desert, all delicious. I Def reccomend going! The wine I got was lovely as well, the refosco. The ravioli was insanely good. A must.

Google
Absolute must try in Rome. The restaurant is a small family-run place serving delicious home-made dishes. We had the special ravioli and the ox tale. Both exquisite. We were so full but went for the strawberry tiramisu dessert and I'm so glad we did. Overall great experience, great food, great people. Thank you for your hospitality.

Google
Absolutely made the correct decision by coming here, the reviews don't lie! Our food was absolutely delicious, the wine was crisp, and the owner was so friendly and truly cared about your meal. We bought a bottle to drink during dinner, and when she gave us our check she also gave us another bottle as a gift. Not to mention the flute of limoncello I received for free as well during desert! Such kind hospitality and great service from the owner and the waiter. This is a small restaurant, especially if the outside seating is not set up, which it wasn't last night. There is only room for 6 or maybe 7 couples, and two larger groups, possibly 6&8, so not a lot of seats! We made sure to swing by before opening to see if they had any tables open, and she (who I'm presuming is the owner) said come back at opening and we'll have a table for you. Good thing because about 30 minutes into our meal there was a line forming outside the door! You won't be disappointed if you come here, it was an amazing authentic Italian meal.

Google
Absolutely great Roman food. Portions are extremely fulfilling. Very small tables. As starter fried artichoke is a must have dish. The best Mezzemaniche alla Gricia I have ever had. I had rabbit and they served almost the whole. The only down side is the unfriendly service. Please take the tiramisu with strawberries to finish your meal.

Google
The food was simply spectacular! We received a warm welcome and reservation made couple of hours before was kept, so we started off into a great evening. Service was great and courteous, reminding me at my grannies place, being cared cared of all the time - throughout the whole evening :-) Was and will remain my most favorite restaurant at Trastevere if not on Rome.

Delicious pizza: crunchy, tasteful and interesting topping that we didn’t taste before but we really enjoyed.

Yelp
It is a great place and has great service. Nice dinner and the prices are not too expensive. however, they do charge a sitting price. of a couple of euros.

Yelp
Our second night in Rome my son found this lovely hidden spot and it was absolutely lovely! Check it out if ur ever in Rome, it's a hard find but so worth it!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Best dinner food we've had so far in Rome! The place was beautifully decorated and intimate and cozy. We'd tried carbonara from a different place and it was so salty, we were worried about ordering it again. Thankfully, this restaurant redeemed the dish for us!

Alysa H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!!! Don't let the alley scare you! We showed up passing crowded restaurants to find this little Ostaria completely empty. But it is a hidden gem. I had a fantastic Sea Bass with lite red sauce. My company had the lasagna it was out of this world. So worth the walk.

Bella P.

Yelp
Amazing service and food, was one of my favorite places I ate in Rome. You can tell it's home made

Kelly S.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience and both had pasta dishes that were delicious. Would definitely go back.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
This place is no longer there unfortunately. The menu looked so good. We went by and called.

Joseph K.

Yelp
This is a gem we found that has excellent food, service and atmosphere! Prices are extremely reasonable too! Large outdoor area

Yelp
This place truly holds a special place in my heart. The two times we've Gone were definitely eventful. The owner is amazing and her Hospitality made us feel so welcomed. The first night we went we sat next To these obnoxious guys that were so loud. Keep in mind the tables in Italy are a few inches away from each other so there's so sense of privacy whatsoever. Later on they apologized for being so loud but I guess they say "Guys just want to have fun too ". We ordered Burrata with cherry tomatoes and basil : Holy cannoli !! I've never had burrata so creamy and soft with cherries that were deliciously sweet. Everything tasted so fresh. And the plate of burrata could've been a main dish. It could easily served 4 but me and the bf devoured it.5/5 Carbonara: My god this was so tasty !! The flavors were outstanding ! The only Downside was that because of The cream this dish made me so full. I loved every bite though.5/5 Ravioli special: Stuffed with ricotta ,porcini , and black truffle. So delicious 5/5 Delicious meal. The second time we came they reopened there kitchen because we came in a little late. Hallelujah. Ordered the usual burrata. Seafood linguine: Wow the serving size was huge !! They definitely don't skimp here. The mussels and clams were so good especially dunking in the butter sauce. Cacio e Pepe:This dish had pecorino cheese . It Was very strong . I liked it. I believe the pasta was on top of fried cheese. Creative. At the end of our meal the owner gave us lemoncillo to wash down our Meal. Overall this place is one of my favorites in Italy. Their portions are huge and there food is delicious .We went there twice during our time there. I'll definitely be back the next time we are in Italy ! Until next time .

Yelp
This place is highly rated on Yelp and there is a definite reason! Another amazing spot in the Trastevere. This spot is blocks off the main streets, tucked away in a corner. We went on a Monday night and though we did make a reservation, the restaurant wasn't crossers and we could have easily walked in. This place a bit bigger than other spots so you do get your own table and the service was very attentive. We started with the buffalo mozzarella that was sort of a caprese salad. The freshest mozzarella I've ever tasted. It was creamy, smooth, and cool. We also tried the fried artichoke which was perfectly cooked with the right amount of flavor and crunch. Next, we split entrees of pesto rigatoni and linguini with clams and mussels. These dishes were btw €12-15. The portion size on the linguini was MASSIVE and we couldn't finish. It was perfectly cooked pasta with the right amount of flavor and fresh seafood. The pesto was so flavorful on its own that I could have just eaten it on bread. Hands down the best pesto sauce I have eaten. It was incredibly rich and creamy and had the right amount of nuttiness without that being overpowering. We also got the house red for about €6 which was more expensive than others but all worth it. This restaurant is owned and operated by two women who both cook and serve. It made it really special to know who actually cooked our food. Another highly recommended dinner spot in Rome!

Yelp
We spent 3 days in Rome and had dinner here twice. The food is amazing. We had the Carbonara, lasagna and Amatriciana. Luigi makes you feel like you are home. The ambiance is true Italy. If it was in Boston I would be there once a week.

Samantha G.

Yelp
Yummy! This place is so good and off the beaten path so it is so special and intimate. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the carciofo and it was great- it came with two pieces so me and my husband could each get one to ourselves For entrees, we got the mushroom ravioli (daily special) and carbonara. Both were amazing! The waitress was so cute but I will say that it is slower service (there is only one waitress...) please check this place out if you come to Trastevere!!

Kristie C.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I hate more - tourist traps or being seated in a cold entryway where there shouldn't have been a seat... when all the tables were open! Btw these tables are ALL so close together. I had my doubts when I saw the red checkered table cloths- another TripAdvisor fail and surprising Yelp fail. - €2/person bread charge, fine but they bring the bread to your table without asking - mixed bruschetta plate €9: bread super hard and super oily, tomato one was the only one that was decent - penne pasta €10: tomato sauce was nothing memorable - sea bass €18: too covered in a thick sauce - Roman chicken €15: red peppers, slow roasted in the sauce. Nothing you don't imagine it to be TLDR: Overall ambiance felt tacky, seating situation was horrible, food was decent at best and overpriced considering. If looking for a sit down dinner, keep looking.

Yelp
If you're in Rome, you have to come here! I highly recommend making a reservation because this restaurant is very small and it gets packed quickly. It's owned by this really sweet older Italian lady, she's like the extra grandma you wish you had. The restaurant is a little tricky to find even if you use google maps but you'll eventually find it. My boyfriend and I ordered the ricotta ravioli with mushrooms and truffle sauce. OH BOY! It was amazing! The ravioli just melted in your mouth and the flavor was to die for. We also went through three baskets of bread (oops). Then we ordered the clams and mussels, which came in this huge dish and was also just so yummy and packed with flavor. GET EXTRA BREAD AND DIP IT IN THE SAUCE. My boyfriend tried to say no to another basket of bread and the cute Italian lady came right back over and was like "no no no you use for sauce" and put the bread basket back on our table. I mean how can you say no to that really? I don't think you can go wrong here with any of the pastas. I saw what the people next to us ordered and it looked just as yummy! They also have fish, meat, etc. You also get a little shot of limoncello at the end of your meal to sip on. The owner also gave us a bottle of wine as a gift at the end!! I'm not sure if this was just because she liked us and our passion for eating or because we spent over a certain amount of money. But regardless, it was still very sweet of her. The service was great even though it was packed, we always had everything we needed and the woman was so sweet. We would definitely come back here again.

Michele H.

Yelp
Good value as a family-run restaurant. Americans will love this trattoria as they serve HUGE portions of well-prepared meat & every Italian favorite. Each of our entrees could easily serve more than one adult. Be prepared to bring a large appetite or share the abundance.

Peter D.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I did to her, but I'm convinced the adorable Italian lady who owns and runs this small joint tried to kill me with food. We started with the Antipasto Botticella, a surprisingly gorgeous plate of various grilled vegetables, olives, and white beans. Along with bread, that alone could be a meal for two at only €12. Because we ate nearly nothing else in Italy, my wife and I ordered two pastas; the spaghetti carbonara for me, and Schiaffoni Botticella for her (we like ordering specialties of the house). The schiaffoni could easily have been a meal for both of us as well, but the prodigious pile of carbonara I was given was something to behold. I am not joking when I tell you that I ate myself full to bursting that evening (barely made a dent), took the pasta home (not very Italian, but I couldn't abide wasting that much food), ate it again for breakfast (it is bacon, egg, and cheese pasta after all), and then BOTH my wife and I ate it for lunch again the next day. It is an absolutely absurd amount of food that you should wash down with cheap carafes of house wine. So if you're looking for bang for your buck, this is your spot. It also happens to be delicious.

Yelp
GET A RESERVATION!! This place was easily one of my fav spots in Rome. The place is so adorable! We started off with their fried artichokes, which is a Roman specialty. These were to die for!! Entres: as a true yelper I went off pictures. And saw a ravioli with a mushroom cream sauce and a red pesto pasta ... got both! Let me tell you ... best pasta in allllll Italy. Dessert: everyone on yelp raves about the tiramisu... bomb!!! I'd easily say this is a go to!

Angela Z.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in Trastevere serving delicious food. The Cacio e Pepe was fantastic! If you are a mushroom fan, get the fettuccine with porcini and cream sauce. Lastly, do not forget to order the tiramisu!

Tushar C.

Yelp
A local mom and pop restaurant tucked away in a little alleyway in Trastevere. Everything is homemade and fresh. It was easily my favourite meal from my entire trip to Italy! Seating was tight (no terrace seating) but it added to the experience and homely feel of the restaurant. We ordered the lasagne special and the Schiaffoni boticella (short pasta with pesto, tomato and cheese). Both were incredible and the portions are HUGE. What I especially liked about the lasagne is that it was juicy and sloppy - not dry at all with just the right amount of minced meat. As for the Schiaffoni, I'm not even a fan of pesto and this exceeded my expectations. We ended off our lovely evening with their homemade Tiramisu with fresh strawberries. It left us speechless. I was planning to eat a lot more Tiramisu in Italy but after this, I wanted to make sure this was the last taste of Tiramisu I had before leaving. Yes it's that good! The only thing I would caution, is if you're looking for fast service this is not the place for you given it is a small family run restaurant. You will need to be patient but I promise it's worth the wait!

Hayden F.

Yelp
Food was very good, and service was very good. It was way more traditional Italian than most things you will find on any random strip in Trastevere. Good price as well, for what you get.

Connie H.

Yelp
Through the winding streets of Rome, this little gem is a stand out. Service prompt, efficient and quick. They have tables inside and out but the evening was so pleasant we sat outside with a cool breeze. We both had pasta dishes- my husband had the ravioli with meat sauce and I had the pasta with spicy arrabiata sauce. Both were outstanding. My sauce had just enough heat without being too spicy. The noodles were cooked perfectly el dente. Should have had the dessert here as suggested by other yelpers as we ended up going to a place that was a bar/bakery and it was def meh. We are rolling back through Rome in a week and may def be back!

Karl B.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal here on our first night in Rome. The restaurant is on a quiet street just steps from the lively Via della Scala. The service was very good and the food was nicely prepared and presented. We made reservations by phone but could probably have been seated as a walk-in if we had eaten early. My wife loved her cacio e pepe and my rigatoni alla carbonara was memorable.

Tony W.

Yelp
Not only one of the best meals I had in Rome but one of the best meals I've had in my life. The truffle ravioli was out of this world and even though we were full after the pastas, we couldn't resist ordering the rabbit as well. A true case of our eyes being bigger than our stomachs.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Hands down up there on the top three list of dinners during my Italy vacation. I found this place on yelp and headed over with my friends after some drinks and an appetizer. This restaurant is on a pretty quiet side street which is exactly how you know you're at the right place. Lucky for us, the place wasn't packed so immediately after walking in we were seated. The owner is a delightful woman who cares about each patron and the meals she makes. She came over to greet us and share the specials. She was so welcoming to us, clearly tourists. We started with the buratta and tomato appetizer. For dinner, I had the spaghetti alla carbonara. THIS DISH WAS AMAZING. It was a very big portion but I still had to eat every last bit of it. My friends meals were equally as awesome. Beware, after we sat down the place started to get busy. Soon they are turning people away at the door who didn't have reservation. If you're going to do dinner at a typical italian time, I'd recommend you have a reservation. This is a can't miss place!

Nigel Y.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem! Just down the street from our hotel (Donna Camilla Sevelli) we were staying in Rome for three nights and loved it so much we had to go back. The owner, Julia, was an amazing host and the staff and service were excellent. We ordered the Zucchini flowers both nights since they were so delicious! I had the clams and muscles, huge portion and the best I've had. My wife ordered a mushroom pasta dish and the second night the cabanara. Both were fantastic. For those people who didn't like the density of the table layout, get over it. Good food at very affordable prices has some compromises. We met the nicest people that all loved the ambiance and the food. We had lunch in one of the "popular tourist plaza's" and got ripped off with wilted salad I wouldn't serve my dog, and paid 3 times as much! This restaurant made our vacation so special, we will be back.

Ellie L.

Yelp
La Botticella is a small restaurant Trastevere, a little off the beaten path. We ate here on a Sunday night around 9:00, we had a reservation but definitely didn't need one at this time of day. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the atmosphere is intimate with only around 8 total tables. The owner greeted us upon arrival, explained the menu, and gave us recommendations. We ordered ricotta ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce, veal saltimbocca, and a litre of $12 house wine. The ravioli was good. The veal was flavorful but overcooked. The meal ended with shots of limoncello. Overall, it was a good experience. If you are looking for a restaurant that's a bit off the beaten path, I would try La Botticella.

Sabi M.

Yelp
Absolute BEST!! Need I say more? Been disappointed with the pasta in Rome, almost left thinking it's mediocre at best and better back home (Bay Area, CA). Then I came here, and the chef owner blew my mind. A hole in the wall off the main streets that are littered with restaurants, so to wonder off and find this is like finding treasure. Trust me, I'm a huge foodie and this place is a destination! Only took a 30 min leisurely stroll from Sant'Angelo Castle, or you can take the bus -though you'll have to cross the bridge when returning since it's One-Way on each side. Thought it would take longer so almost skipped out. So glad I didn't. A glass of Barolo was perfect with dinner. Make sure to stay hydrated with a bottle of water! Ordered the 2 specials of the day, eggplant dish & a cheese ravioli with porcini and black truffles. Couldn't choose so ordered both -leftovers were still delish the next day. Also had the stuffed squash blossoms to start -yum! Never tried limoncello before, and it knocked me off my feet! Really good but also really strong. Definitely worth ordering!! If you have a sweet tooth, the homemade tiramisu is divine. Actually, everything is homemade. Going to try and attach images. If I can't, I'll upload separately with the full menu. Happy eating! xx

Lilian K.

Yelp
3.5 I bump this up because of the wonderful lady who owns the restaurant. Just be warned that this place will be packed with Americans/other tourists. I'm sure part of it is our earlier dinner time, but also it's gotten very popular. With all the great reviews and praise, I found the experience to be underwhelming. The gnocchi Gorgonzola was very soft and tasty, but I felt there was nothing exceptional that separated this restaurant from the others. I do like that it's quieter and away from too many crowds. I'd advise going at 7pm if you don't want to wait too long. We had no reservations and there was only one group inside.

Rhea W.

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE this hosteria . This is one of our favorite restaurants in Trastevere. Food is amazing and service is wonderful!! We highly recommend to everybody. Must try delightful strawberry tiramisù

Emma H.

Yelp
This place is one to remember. The servers remembered us personally, gave us amazing service and treated us as if we were family. The pasta is on another level. We dread going home and not being able to have this readily available to us every day. From the lasagna to the tiramisu, it is all incredible and undeniably handmade. We will dream about our meals at home and hope to be back to this amazing restaurant sooner than later.

Christian P.

Yelp
La Botticella is down a quiet unassuming residential street. At first we almost didn't go in because it was packed and not the largest of places but we decided to walk in and I'm glad we did. La Botticella has great food and you can tell by seeing how everyone there was cleaning their plate with bread afterwards. We got the burrata to start which came with a nice size plate mixed with tomatoes , and olives. For dinner we have the gnocchi and mushroom stuffed ravioli. Both were absolutely delicious. The older woman who I assumed to be the owner was very lovely and came over to us often to see how things were. She spoke English when we needed it. Do your homework to understand the culture and what to expect when in Rome to get the most out of your dining experiences.

Mike D.

Yelp
The service was awesome. We didn't have a reservation and they squeezed us in (literally). They set up an extra table for us and then moved us to a more comfortable table when space opened up. The food was very good as well. The thing about this area that I learned is the food is fairly consistent from place to place. Sometimes it's better or a little bit less satisfying but this place ended up being my barometer. It wasn't the best I had but it was damn good and worth a meal.

Chris V.

Yelp
Our favorite place of our whole trip. It felt like being in a family home. My favorite dish was the "little pork." Not sure what cut it was, I think it was mostly loin roast? But it had a massive slab of crispy skin over the top, and it was marinated with a touch of acid to cut the fat. It put a smile on my face. The tiramisu was perfect as well.

Nick D.

Yelp
Upon arriving to Hostaria La Botticella, the outside and the inside was extremely quiet. I thought to myself, "wow, this dinner is going to be very interesting". However, 10-15 minutes into dinner, it came to life. Highly recommend making a reservation. Saw a few couples get turned away. We kept it very simple with this dinner. Like others, we stuck with just ordering the Roman pasta trio of cacio e Pepe, spaghetti carbonara and bucatini all' Amatriciana. The unique presentation worked perfectly. We were worried how they would fit three big plates of pasta on the table. They serve all pastas on one dish, including a cheese bowl for the cacio. All three were equally delicious. Sometimes, simple is the way to go. Stick to what works. And in Rome, is these three pastas followed by homemade tiramisu. Didn't like the chocolate syrup on the tiramisu, but it was all delicious. My only fault was the service. They didn't seem to really connect with any customers and it took at least 20-30 minutes just to track down the check. I'd still dine here again, but be prepared to not have the greatest service.

Salina P.

Yelp
Beware***** All I can say is that I am completely blown away by the way this restaurant and its' waitresses made us feel. I have been to Rome many times and I have NEVER felt so unwelcomed and discriminated against before this experience. I have traveled the world as I am an airline employee and I have never written a review like this but I warn you if want to eat here PLEASE reconsider. I had been looking forward to eating at this restaurant because of it's reviews. We waited in line for 45 min and they took every other party that came after us regardless if they had a reservation or not and when I approached them they said everyone else had a reservation. When the people behind us pointed out they didn't have a reservation and that we were first, the waitresses pushed us out and told us if we didn't like it to leave. Therefore, we left and the people that were waiting behind us left as well as they saw how we were treated. La Botticela were completely unapologetic for their rudeness and the discomfort they caused us in front of a restaurant full of people. So please I implore you to reconsider eating at this restaurant.

Ashleigh J.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Italy! We came back twice. Come right before they open and they'll still seat you. The strawberry tiramisu was to die for! Great wine pairings and really large portions--enough for two people to share one dish. I also really loved the aperitif--the cheese was really tasty.

Venessa R.

Yelp
This was the last restaurant I went to in Rome before going back home. There is nothing like sitting in a quiet side ally for dinner, there is something so peaceful about it. The staff was awesome. Super friendly and made you feel like family. You can tell the people who worked there were either all family or have worked there for a long time. The pasta? FRESH and home made! Like. What else could you ask for? Oh and for dessert? Strawberry tiramisu!! Probably the best dessert I've ever ever had. Please please visit if you're in Rome. You definitely won't regret it.

Dyno K.

Yelp
Went here because of the high reviews. Owner lady has 1 waiter for entire restaurant! Poor kid. She helps out, but definitely needs a few more people to handle the large amount of customers. Food was just ok. Not bad, but not great like I was expecting from the high reviews. Service was slow and you have to ask several times for anything. I asked the lady for the check and she was mad at me. You don't want my money? I should have just dined and dash with that kind of attitude. I'm asking you for the bill so I can pay you and leave... not for extra sauce or free water.

Chloe K.

Yelp
A wonderful family run restaurant by two sisters (who have amazing sibling chemistry. The food takes you straight to grandma's kitchen. The servings are big, but take your time and make it to the secondi and the dessert. It will be worth it.

Ashley M.

Yelp
If you find yourself in the Trastevere area of Rome...this is the place to go! Excellent food and quality service nestled in a quaint little space. We were lucky enough to sit next to some gentleman on vacation from Cali that happened to be alumni of my husbands school. Such a small world but a great time. The lasagna and ravioli...neither on the main menu...were AMAZING trust me just order them! The house wine was very good and the strawberry tiramisu?! Wow. When you arrive prepare to wait a few mins. The inside is very small but stays packed. Luckily it was a rainy evening so there wasn't a line. Waited maybe 10mins. The food and the service make up for any wait. Great servers, only 2, and the chef Giulia will come and greet you...and make sure you finish your plate ha! So eat up! I read a review that mentioned despite their rule of only trying a place once while traveling they broke it for this place...we plan to do the same and eat there again on our final evening in Rome. I have to try the gnocchi :-)

Lauren D.

Yelp
This was our very first dinner in Rome so we had nothing to compare it to at the time and I think that may have been a good thing. We showed up reservation-less around 9 PM and they were able to make room for us within a few minutes. Inside, it seemed like all Americans who had obviously gone in for an early dinner and it was a bit too quiet in there so I was worried. Once we sat down, it did seem to be a lot of English speakers in there but the experience was still mostly good. We started with the caprese salad and though we weren't wowed by the tomatoes, the mozzarella was AMAZING! I had the spaghetti alla carbonara and there was no shortage of bacon! It was really delicious but the portion was huge. My husband had the gorgonzola gnocchi and liked it as well. We were stuffed and had to skip dessert. Overall, the service was great and the food was good, but it does feel just a bit tourist-driven in here.

Rachelle B.

Yelp
This place is a little hard to find, off of the beaten path but that doesn't stop people from coming here! Friends of ours ate here a few years ago and insisted we try it. This place is very popular (with what seemed like all tourists) so if you do not book ahead be prepared to wait. The portions are VERY large; keep that in mind while ordering. We ordered the meat and cheese platter, Bucatini Alla Amarticiana, Chicken and Oxtail. The platter and the pasta was more than enough to fill us up, and I preferred those to the meats. The service was very nice and attentive. They noticed my husband splatted some sauce on his shirt and brought him a bib :) hehe.

Mac R.

Yelp
We never go to the same place twice when we travel & we broke that rule for La Botticella. We ate there last night starting with the fried artichokes (superb) and our dinners of homemade ravioli with mushrooms & truffles and fresh pesto pasta were wonderfully prepared. We saw the spaghetti with mussels & clams come to the next table & neither of us could stop thinking about it the following day. The restaurant was supposed to be closed on Wednesday but we walked by on our way to another spot, the owner was outside & invited us back in! We ordered the stuffed zucchini flowers with mozzarella & anchovies and of course we both got the spaghetti with mussels and clams. The flavors in that dish blew us away - big tasty roasted garlic cloves dotted the dish and the flavors were so bold and fresh. The owner is incredibly charming and the service could not have been better, so attentive and polite. The house wines were a fabulous value and probably the best we'd had in any restaurant. This is why we wanted to go back!

Gary R.

Yelp
How do you describe or rate a restaurant in Rome that you wanted to go back to after your first visit. We went back-to-back nights cause we were craving the seafood pasta dish the people at the next table got. And it was awesome. Fresh noodles, tasty sauce, lots of clams and mussels... it was a huge serving and we both cleaned our plates! My first night I got the pasta with pesto and it was amazing with lots of pine nuts and everything you'd want in a good pesto dish. My wife got the ravioli with truffles and porcini mushrooms. Both winners. A glass of house wine was really a carafe so it was 1 1/2 glasses. Love that. Service was very attentive, the chef/owner greeted us both nights and was very helpful explaining specials. It's not "fine" dining but it was really fine for us. I'd go back next time I'm in Rome.

Yelp
This was hands down the best meal my husband and I had in Rome. It was our last meal before we left, such a great way to go! Upon arrival the restaurant was PACKED. they ended up squeezing in a small table next to a party and right up against the front door. I was actually locked in and couldn't get up from the table until the very end of our meal. The service was great! we ordered a bottle of white wine. I got the mushroom ravioli and my husband ordered the carbonara. GET THE MUSHROOM RAVIOLI! it's off menu and with truffle oil. We ended our meal with a strawberry tiramisu. AMAZING! We had mediocre food during our stay in Rome, but so glad we found this restaurant and ended our trip with a good and memorable meal!

Yelp
Found this place via Yelp on 11/3/17 whilst in Rome. Besides the fantastic reviews, the sound of homemade Strawberry Tiramisu got my attention. It was a little out of the way from where we were but decided it was worth discovering. We made a reservation for 7pm, this place is down several dark narrow and cobbly alleyways. As soon as we arrived, we were seated at the 2nd table to the right when you enter. The place is pretty cramped so I suggest you pee or wash your hands before sitting lol. We asked the owner (whom at first seemed friendly) what they recommended and of course the response is "all my food is good"....very helpful. So we ordered: Fried artichoke - 7/10 Chicken leg - 8/10 Spaghetti al pomodoro (Tomato and Basil) - 7/10 Spaghetti aglio olio (Garlic and Olive Oil) - 8/10 Strawberry Tiramisu - 6/10 When we were done we had to ask for the check 3 times (in 5-7min intervals), they just kept telling us to wait. Never seen any restaurant take that long to bring the bill, especially when they have people waiting for tables, you'd think they be glad we were ready to give the table up to the next customer. Overall good but I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
If you come to Rome and don't have at least one meal here in Trastevere you are missing out major. Even after leaving Rome and visiting three other cities in Italy, all we kept talking about was how this was our favorite meal in all of Italy. Make a reservation, take a cab to Trastevere, enjoy walking around this little town and eating at this restaurant, order anything off the menu (and leave room for dessert!) and you won't regret it.

Yelp
A friend on IG sent me a DM and told me to try this spot, it's a local favorite she said! So 30 min later were walking down the most romantic street at 10:30pm.... its such a perfect sitting, the ambiance with the live jazz music down the street makes this so romantic it's almost something like a movie. That's all before you even eat the food, when I think Italian food this is what I'm thinking of! The penne arrabiatta with a touch of spice was 5 stars plus!!!! My wife had the veal and said it was delicious was well. Highly recommend this spot if you're in Rome!
