La Boulangerie

It’s a vibrant busy cafe on a Saturday (late am visit) with a cool vibe. Cappuccino and almond croissant were delicious. Sesame bagel with smoked salmon, dill and cream cheese didn’t come a slices of fish with which I didn’t expect. It’s tiny pieces of fish mixed with cream cheese. Tasty but small. I’ll try sourdough sandwich next time, seemed popular. My friend enjoyed the pistachio cake.

I’ve loves this cafe for a while and was excited when I learned they opened a French Bistro in the same location. Haven’t had French food this good since visiting France, and the prices were quite reasonable. Ambiance is A+ and the servers are fantastic. Check it out before it becomes impossible to get a reso.

What ties it all together is the owner, who is genuinely one of the kindest people you’ll meet. They greet every customer with a smile, remember regulars by name, and take pride in making sure everyone feels at home. You can sense their love for French culture and hospitality in every detail — from the décor to the playlist to the way the food is plated. Whether you’re stopping in for a morning espresso, a quick lunch, or just to unwind with a pastry and a book, this café delivers every single time. A true 5-star gem that deserves all the praise it gets.

I honestly wish this was a joke, but I spent over an hour here just trying to get a single croissant, a coffee, and eventually, my bill. This spot was next-level disorganized. The service was painfully slow from the moment I sat down. It took 20 minutes just to place my order, another 30+ to get a basic croissant and lukewarm coffee, and then I had to flag someone down three separate times just to pay. By then, I was so frustrated I didn't even want to eat anymore. What’s worse is that there was no apology, no explanation, no urgency — just indifference. The place wasn’t even that busy. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this felt like a complete disregard for customers’ time. I’m all for slow mornings and laid-back cafes, but this was just poor service. It honestly made me question coming back, which is a shame because I was hoping this would become a regular spot. If management actually reads these, I’d love to know: is this the norm, or did I just catch the worst possible day?

I got an iced mocha and iced americano from this location, the service was pretty quick and the baristas were very friendly. I didn’t get a chance to try the pastries but they looked amazing. Pricing is fair and pretty average when compared to most coffee shops in Toronto. Definitely will be back!

This coffee shop is wonderful! You can feel their clean and airy atmosphere as soon as you walk in. I tried their Paris Ham & Comtê sandwich, and it was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the flavor of the espresso in their latte, though I would suggest ordering a double for anyone who likes stronger coffee. The size and atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a coffee date with a friend!

Edit: came for their new bistro dinner menu and it did not disappoint! Super classic French food but the pièce de résistance was the charming service. Jack is a master of the craft of hospitality! This place has everything. Incredible snacks, finely made pastries, smoothies, French grocery items, and a wonderful owner! You’ll be hard pressed to find a better cafe in the area.

I got an almond croissant because that was what I was craving, but unfortunately the croissant was overly stale. I may have been spoiled by other bakeries so I'm picky about my almond croissants. The bakery and Cafe itself is very clean and the decor includes lots of plants and wood elements. The lady who served me was very fast and blunt with me Next time I would try different pastries. I believe that they ship their pastries from another location where they actually bake.

Fabulous fire in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone loved their food, and the bill was reasonable.

La Boulangerie is a new French bakery located near the intersection of Dundas and Ossington. This sister bakery from the owners of Petite Thuet has a variety of delicious baked goods, coffee, and grocery items for sale. I've actually passed by La Boulangerie many times but never realized what I had been missing out until now. Passing by the store outside, you can catch a glimpse of the bread they offer for sale. Upon entering the store, you are immediately drawn to the space where it can be overwhelming to see all the goods on display. I was able to drop by La Boulangerie on a Tuesday afternoon after work around 5pm. I was extremely glad that they still had breads, baked goods and desserts for sale despite it being so late in the day. The great thing is that the bakery closes at 7pm which gives everyone a chance to come by and grab something. I was also drawn to their many grocery items including pastas, sauces, and chocolates. There are also espresso based drinks available - which I have to try next time I drop by! Service was friendly and attentive as the staff allowed me to browse while I took my time to decide. I opted for a plain butter croissant and a whole wheat bread. The baked goods were delicious! The croissant was flaky and buttery - just what you expect in a perfect croissant. The bread was also great. Overall, great new addition to the neighbourhood. Go check out La Boulangerie if you're around the area!

Recommended by some friends and we passed by so we decided to check it out. Pastries and coffee are amazing. Staff are super friendly. What's better than being greeted by a big smile in such a lovely day! The size of the place is quite decent. Very bright and clean. I like how they also sell little things in the corner. It's like a mini convenient store in a cafe. Highly recommended!

A recent visit to this place was the first and last. I called ahead to inquire about their canelé and was told that the price was $3.25ea. (seemed reasonable). My husband goes to the bakery to buy four canelés which there was no pricing so he assumed it would be $3.25ea (per the call). After tax & tip the total turned out to be a ridiculous amount over $24...before tax & tip this breaks down to $4.75 for each canelé. Based on the quality and experience this place is simply a racket. Firstly, the canelés were pathetic...they were burnt and varying in height to the point where they were more half size than standard. Secondly, the misleading and highest pricing we've ever paid for a canelé.

Best bread in the city. Superb sandwiches and coffee and a nice selection of top quality French delicacies.

went To buy croissants for mother's day. They were expensive got home took one bite totally day old dry croissants. So they are selling old croissants as though they are fresh.
