I visited Paris for a night when I had a long layover, so I decided to treat myself to a six-course menu. The service timing was decent and it was rather quiet that night, so very few people were dining in. The server was friendly and did his best to present the food for me. English is decent. There were things I liked and didn't like, but for the dishes I didn't like, I knew the flavor was good for what it is. It took about two hours to finish dinner, so make sure you make time for that.
I enjoyed the ambiance as it was suitable for all sorts of visitors: whether you are foreign, native, alone, or in a group. I don't think you'll need a reservation, but understand that it may take a while for your food to arrive. However, the food is perfectly cooked.
