Beautiful surroundings, hotel with very nice public spaces, very friendly staff but certain issues. Let me start with the website. It offers packages which include a 1 night stay and a dinner in the Michelin * restaurant. The package price is more expensive then when you book the room and dinner separately. In March I called them to notify them of this, they recognized and said they would correct this. I waited 4 months, and when I tried to book, it was not corrected yet !! In the meantime, the chef with 2 Michelin stars has left them, but they still advertise his name (Ralf Berendsen) in their communications. We booked a room in 'The Villa' and received a room in the basement. We complained and were told the website mentions the room will be in the basement. We never noticed this, because it is very well hidden on their website. They did consider our complaint and moved us to a first floor room. I cannot judge the rooms in the main building, but the rooms in 'The Villa' are definitely not high end, they are very average rooms as a matter of fact. Something very disturbing is that there is almost no mobile phone reception in several parts of the hotel. In certain parts of the building I had the feeling it was deliberate. They certainly can choose to do so, but it should clearly be mentioned. They do offer free Wifi, but it is an open unsecured network which is not recommendable. And the Wifi does not solve the problem of lack of telephone network. We had dinner in the Restaurant 'Le Ciel' and it was very good, the restaurant has a very nice decoration and cosy atmosphere. One last remark about breakfast. The buffet is massive and very good, and there is an a la carte menu with further options. Eggs benedict were served with bearnaise sauce instead of hollandaise, which I found weird. And for a hotel pretending to be top notch 5 star quality, the breakfast napkins should be cloth, not a cheap non woven napkin.
