La Cabane à Tuque

Let me start by saying I wanted to enjoy this place more than we did. The staff here are truly amazing though. Service was quick and efficient. Very friendly. The food however was bland. For over $150 for three of us, 2 adults and a child, I expected a bit more. You likely won't leave hungry, I didn't and I can be picky. The property is very neat. We took part in axe throwing before and hiked up a trail behind the sugar shack. After our meal, the hosts moved to the outdoors and made everyone some maple taffy, which was incredible. My last piece of advice for anyone visiting, bring some containers for leftovers, as whatever doesn't get eaten, goes into the garbage. So to summarize, food was ok, service was great and atmosphere was pretty great as well. 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or (like me) an omnivore who loves good vegan and vegetarian food, this welcoming farm slightly outside of Mont Tremblant is a delightful place to spend some time during the sugaring season — and to sample an alternative take on a traditional Quebecois sugar shack family-style meal. Our host Simone is a renaissance man: farmer, chef, father, and builder, and his love of the vegan and organic lifestyle shines through the whole experience. You can tour the many maple trees on the property and even taste the delicious maple taffy that results from pouring the boiled rendered sap over the snow until it reaches chewy, gooey goodness. Simone is also very well-traveled and at home in either English or French — and he is full of fascinating conversation as you enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal. We rented a car and drove up from Montreal for the day, but it’s also an easy and quick drive from the Mont Tremblant slopes if you are up for a skiing vacation.

Amazing all rounded experience! The food was an absolute delight. The staff was just wonderful. The owner was an excellent host. The dining room and grounds just fabulous.

yummm yummm not only this sugar shack is vegan every single ingredient (except salt) used to prepare the menu is grown locally. now that is hella impressive!! 99% self sufficient. hats off to you Samuel! the owner is a young couple living at the cabana itself with their son and they buy local products from their friends who are the producers. it was very refreshing experience. wholesome. unlike other commercialized sugar shacks. only comment i’d make is that I found the maple syrup very thin in consistency. besides that the food was delicious 🤤 the soup, the « temp’oeuf » (temph’egg) , the pie , the patates 🥔 !! and of course the unlimited TAFFY. happy gal lets say i had a major food coma after that 😂 oh, also you can do axe throwing there and a hiking trail!

It was so good! My gf surprised me and took me to this spot, the food was fresh and homemade and not too sweet not too greasy. Delicious and healthyyyy. It was all vegan so it was heaven on earth!!! I will definitely be back, it’s a whole experience!

Great food! The rosemary and maple syrup potatoes were the standout. Friendly and personable staff, and a really nice dining area. The axe throwing is fun while you wait too. Only gripe is that it's a tad bit expensive, but considering it's mostly all-you-can eat, I'd say it's worth it!

It was my second time in 7 years at this fully vegan sugar shack. My opinion stays the same : I’m unfortunately not liking the food very much:( soup isn’t thick enough, tempeh was burned a bit, pudding chomeur looks more like a berry crumble, creton have no taste (nor smell ?!) and oreilles de crisse are sweet when it’s supposed to be salty… beans and potatoes are good. Crepes and apple sauce as well ! The family service is cute and nice, but if I wanna go to a cabane à sucre, I kinda wanna have a perfectly typical sugar shack meal ; missing scrambled tofu, vegan bacon and sausages. Especially for the price, 145$ for 2, I would expect a better food experience.

I am a vegetrian and my wife is vegan so we looked for a vegetrian sugar-shack (Cabane sucre), my boss recommanded this place and it was perfect. You have to book in advance since they do get filled fast, we actully booked 1 month in advance (the closest date possible), and if you are a vegan mark it during the booking to help them to help you :) . The food was great, some things were amazing, some just ok but the overall expirience was AMAZING. Its a small place (max 30 people), so it gives you a fun family vibe. They speak French and English and will do everything they can so you will have fun. In winter there is Axe throwing and you actully go to the woods to help the transfer the sap from the trees to the tube system that leads to the place they burn it. A real expirience. they also have frisbe golf but I assume its more for the summer. A wonderfull place do go there !
