La Cabane du Pêcheur is one of those easy, unpolished gems by the sea. It’s a little tucked away near Ngor beach, but once you get there, it’s rustic tables, feet in the sand, waves crashing in the background. Beach tables fill up quickly so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
I had the grilled lobster—fresh and cooked beautifully—but it lacked that garlicky, buttery flavour I was craving. The homemade chips, though, were delicious. Choosing your lobster fresh and seeing it weighed before cooking definitely adds to the experience.
The place is popular with families, especially on weekends. It’s a lively, communal, vibe full of local energy. Expect a few craft sellers walking around offering handmade goods and there’s some wonderful art to look at next door.
Service is friendly and attentive. It’s the spot for a relaxed lunch or sunset moment. Plus, you can catch a boat across to Ngor Island just steps away for 1,000 CFA round trip. The boats leave frequently and the short ride adds to the bliss of the day. Highly recommended
