La Caleta Peruvian Restaurant

Google
Delicious and authentic Peruvian flavors. We visited on a Sunday for lunch and decided to try to classics of Peruvian cuisine the ceviche mixto and lomo saltado, both very excellent. We also tried the anticucho carretillero and the cuy chactado specials because you can't find those at pretty much any other Peruvian restaurant in the area. The cuy was perfectly done, full of flavor and the anticuchos were also amazing. The sauce that come with the cuy was particularly good, spicy and full of flavor. We also tried the chicha morada and really liked it. Food wise, everything was great. The service was good, but they could be a bit more attentive. Finally, the atmosphere is very normal, but we were expecting that from some of the pictures we saw online. Finally, the portions are generous but their prices are comparable to other restaurants that offer much better overall experiences.

Google
Went early and it was a bit quiet. Absolutely legit Peruvian food. Not mexified or turned into some sort of fusion. They seem to cook with the most authentic Peruvian ingredients one could find in there US! I have probably been to over 50 Peruvian restaurants in the US and this ranks at the very top! Only negatives were that it was a bit pricey (quality over quantity) and my beer was very pricey. Otherwise nice and clean restaurant with awesome food! Will be coming baby in the future!

We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a good dining experience. All the food items were good as well. The service could be a little better as the servers were not there, and we had to get their attention. They do provide a good quantity of food for the prices. It is a casual place, so definitely check them out.

Google
As peruvian. I have to say they have traditional peruvian food. Excellent taste, no fusion with American. It's like eating in Peru. As soon as you come in they give you Canchita, with aji. Which is what we get in peru in cevicherias. We had carapulcra with sopa seca. Trio Marino ,.causa limeña. And papa huancaina

We had a great dining experience at La Caleta! The food was delicious, with rich flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The service was also fantastic! La Caleta might look a bit outdated, but that's part of its charm these days! Definitely recommend visiting!

Just visited La Caleta Peruvian Restaurant in Montgomery Village, MD, and what a find! Opened just 11 days ago, this place is already serving some incredible food. I started with the Ceviche de Pescado – fresh and flavorful with a perfect balance of tanginess. The Papas a la Huancaina was creamy and rich, just the way it should be. The Seco a la Nortena was hearty and savory. But the standout dish for me was the Lomo Saltado – tender beef, veggies, and crispy fries, all coming together in a delightful mix. To drink, I had the Chicha Morada and Maracuya juice, both refreshing and sweet, complementing the meal perfectly. Overall, La Caleta offers great food at a great value. I'll definitely be coming back for more. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this new gem. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on a whim. We don't know much about Peruvian food. Ok, we don't know anything. But this is a really nice place. The waitstaff was extremely polite. And fast. And the one entree that she and I shared was delicious. The stir-fried chicken is great. A combination of rice, chicken, plantains, some sort of noodles (maybe based on egg??), and I have no idea what spices and seasoning. But it was wonderful. When we're in the area we'll surely stop back in.

Yelp
Food: the lomo saltado was good just wish it was a little more sauce. The ceviche mixto was very bland and not flavorful at all. Service: The lady took forever to take the order, and never came once to ask if everything was okay. P.s a 18% tip comes included with all bills which i think it's unreasonable because if the service isn't good why should you tip 18%. I probably won't be back.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! My fiancé and I actually drove into the shopping center to go to the restaurant next-door but when we saw there was a new Peruvian restaurant opening up we just had to try it! We came in on a Wednesday night and there were only few people in the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. Vanessa was our server and she did an excellent job walking us through the menu because it is in Spanish. Daniel was our bartender for the evening and he also made us the most delicious pisco sours. This is a brand new spot and is a hidden gem so I highly recommend for any Peruvian food lovers! They have salsa, dancing, and live music. Will definitely be back to experience some entertainment and they also have soccer games running season on the big screen as well.

Yelp
I'm Peruvian woman ...This restaurant is a real scam, the food are no too bad but when you request something like a little more cheese ( when is part of the plate) they said you need to pay for it... the best is in the check, They put the tip 18% extra, never ask you if you want to give them or not... I didn't like the people who work there....

Yelp
I went to eat to this place they try to charge me a cover fee for entree because they having event that night after all the owner allow me to enter with out paying fee just to eat and we did 25 min wait to get our food After we almost finish I order 3 drinks one beer and 2 cocktails which they never bring it And they ask me to leave the cancel the drinks because they will need the table I ask for the owner after we talk it was not just the way they need to address to me and he apologize But again not reason to ask me to leave the table because we are still using the service even the service was terrible I will definitely not come back base on this experience I order 2 caldos de gallina it took 25 min to serve and was not on good taste

Yelp
Good food, decent portions enough to eat there and take home, seco a la norteña was delicious the meat tender and juicy and great flavor, carapulcra chínchana, Buenazzzzza, with chicken and pork, maracuya to drink, sweetness was perfect for us, recommended and definitely will visit again, they owner came to check on us and the waiter took good care of us,

Yelp
We celebrated my wife's birthday here. Amazing food! Lots of Peruvian dishes prepared by a master chef and presented in a very elegant way. And the staff is exceptional, very thoughtful. Very good ambiance.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! Just went today, and the service was great. The restaurant was spacious and the menu was easy to digest. I got a lomo, ceviche, leche de Tigre, and papas huancaina. They were all wonderful
