Been following this restaurant through social media for a couple of years and I finally decided to pay it a visit from NY. Never had Venezuelan food, but the food did not disappoint these taste buds. Everything was delicious and our server and the manager there were such friendly people. The dessert was not pictured (we ordered churros) because the kids immediately finished it. It was fluffy and crispy and tasty. Whenever we come to CT again, I’ll definitely pay this place a visit again.

La Calle has to be one of the best hidden gem spots ever! This restaurant is hands down one of the best restaurants and I absolutely love the food. I’ve been coming here since 2021. When you walk in you just instantly feel at home. I always feel like I’m part of the family. The Reina chips come out and it’s a hot green plantain with avocado and chicken dip is amazing! I try my best not to finish it because I know I have to save room for the main course but it’s hard. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes there. My personal favorite drink is the Guarapita! Delicious!

A piece of home away from home ❤️ Originally from Mérida, Venezuela, I’ve lived in CT for a little over 2 years now and this is where me and my partner (also Venezuelan) go to celebrate special occasions, or just whenever we feel like having a taste of home! We’ve brought our American friends and they all love their food too (especially the arepas—they have a thing for their Reina Pepiada haha) but everything—appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks— I’ve had have been delicious! We will literally drive about an hour each time to go say hi and have some of those yummy tequeños lol I cannot pick one thing only but last time we went we ordered some of the arepitas saladas for the first time and they were SO so good. The chicha is also excellent. From the food to the service, they offer a great, heart-warming experience, making you feel at home from the second you walk in. They are always happy and excited to provide good eats and a wonderful time! Go try them out so you can see for yourself :) Gracias La Calle Arepas bar 💛❤️💙 son los mejores! Picture: tequeños and arepitas

Google
I absolutely love this place! Every time I come here, I’m impressed by the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the dishes are always fresh and full of flavor. You can really feel the love and care they put into everything. Whether you’re coming with friends, family, or even alone, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend it – they truly deserve more recognition!

Google
The mango margaritas are amazing! I had the arepa with hand made cheese with Venezuelan butter and it was delicious! 100/10 recommend!!

Google
My family and I keep coming back to La Calle because the food, drink, and service always make us happy. I'm not exaggerating. We've probably tried 5 of the apps, 8-10 different entrees, 3-4 of the cocktails, and 3-4 of the juices and we have yet to find one that we didn't like. At this point we have our respective favorites so it's hard to deviate far from our known cravings and try anything thing else. La Calle has become my happy place and the employees feel like extended family. I recommend it to everyone.

Google
Absolutely delicious. I travel to this area for work and this is my new favorite go to spot. Great price, incredible food, fresh ingredients & friendly servers. You can smell and hear the food cooking in the kitchen which makes the atmosphere even better. Very authentic.

My pet and I enjoy dinning in the outside pet friendly patio. Food is top notch, service is beyond great and the family like atmosphere makes me love this place even more. Extremely well recommended A+++

Tara K.

Yelp
I love this place! It is so welcoming, and the food is outstanding! Definitely get the yuca fries and the beef arepas! The arepas are perfect so tasty, i prefer grilled and it gives the best foundation for their very flavorful meat. The shredded chicken one is great.

Enxhi B.

Yelp
We came here since my BIL was visiting with his Venezuelan gf and it was her first time in Connecticut. They live in Georgia and there are no Venezuelan establishments there so we decided to try this place out. The restaurant was small and the interior had an odd smell so we opted to sit outside. We ordered some cocktails and they were pretty good. Overall decent place for drinks but probably wouldn't return since we weren't impressed either.

Krystal M.

Yelp
I ordered take out and they left out the beef from the cachapa and it completely crumbled apart as soon as it was picked up... then they gave me half a chorizo but charged almost $7 that was also still raw on the inside!!!!! Gross!! The menu does not describe the size of the drink order so I figured for $4 maybe it's a bottle... It was a CAN of soda! If the food had been good as is and fully cooked I might not have complained but it wasn't cheap to be so awful! Here's to hoping I don't get sick! Nasty!

Rosita Z.

Yelp
Best spot in Norwalk for Venezuelan food! The food is always on point, their pepito is delicious and they have a variety of juices/sodas you can choose from. Their customer service is excellent. 10/10.

Raquel P.

Yelp
Food was delicious and served quickly. The staff were very friendly and the space was clean and inviting. Easy hop off the highway for a quick bite to eat. I would eat here again!

Dana K.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! if you want authentic Venezuelan food this is the joint. The arepas were insanely good, stuffed to the brim. The Cachapa was so cheesey and gooey. Fast, polite service. You go here for the food, not the ambiance however the music was on point and we were jamming the whole time!

Paula E.

Yelp
My friend and I ventured about one hour away from home to have brunch here. We've been following them on social media for a little while, and finally decided to make the drive. There might be street parking, but it's in a busier area, however, there is a larger lot behind the business. I'm not sure what the charge is, but since it was a Sunday, it was free. The indoors is on the smaller side, but is nice. There are many decorations and it is very colorful and happy in there. We decided to sit in their outdoor eating area. I liked it, but the chairs were very uncomfortable. The menu is pretty expansive. I ordered the Vegana (black beans, sweet plantains and avocado), and my friend ordered the Americana (bacon, egg, cheese). We split these two. They were very good and pretty filling! For dessert, we shared an order of mini arepas, served with cream and cheese. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a bite. The arepas we tried were delicious, the service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. I might not come here often, but would recommend anyone in the area to visit.

Alicia N.

Yelp
Driving an hour away was so worth it! I wanted all If the stuffed Arepas because they all sounded amazing!! We went on a Sunday early enough for brunch. Sat outside, grabbed coffee and it was perfect. My friend and I decided we would split our Arepas of our choice so we can try half and half. We decided to try Arepa Vegana which had black bean, avocado and sweet plantains and The Americana Arepa which was more of a breakfast Arepa. Bacon, egg and cheese. Also, you have the option of having them fried or grilled so we did one and one. They both hit the spot! So good! We didn't get enough of our arepa fix so we got mini arepas fritas but the sweet ones. It came with a side of shredded cheese and cream to dip in. A day later snd im still thinking of Arepas! Stuffed arepas! The staff was so Pleasant, friendly! The owner came out and he was very nice as well! Everyone was! We had made reservations for 11 but when we got there it wasn't needed. However it sure picked up and got pretty busy afterwards. So I suggest making them just Incase! There is street parking and there is a big lot in the back of the restaurant that is public. There is meters but it depends which day you go and time . Sunday is free ! The restaurant itself has enough tables , it's clean , and inviting. I must say though those chairs outside are not the most comfortable. But it was nice to sit and have breakfast outdoors. It's in a busy strip along with other businesses and restaurants. I'll be back!

Jon B.

Yelp
Visited this place while being around the area and looking for something different. If you are familiar with Venezuelan food, this is your spot. If you are not, definitely give it a try. The place has tables outside and inside and the staff is super friendly. We ended up eating arepas and cachapas. We try Venezuelan food all over the country, and this place really compares. Although this place doesn't fill the arepas to a crazy degree where the ingredients are falling out. It is the right amount and is pretty flavorful. The cachapas needed to be a little sweeter for my taste but still a quality cachapa. Overall, this is a "to go" spot on my list while navigating Norwalk. Prices are between $12 and $14. This seems fairly priced as this is more of a sit down restaurant than a regular arepa joint.

Caitlin M.

Yelp
The BEST in the game !!!! This is literally the best spot in Norwalk!!!!! Arepas are next level and the drinks are fabulous.

Cordelia R.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in Norwalk. Hits every time. Checks every box. Good if you know Spanish but not required. The sifrina arepa is my favorite, but they're truly all perfectly done. I usually get two arepas because I'm a glutton but one will absolutely satisfy. Truly wish I still lived in the area but so glad there still here for me to visit!

Ellie D.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant several times and it has always been good. I loooove their arepas. Today I decided to branch out and try something new. While I didn't like what I got this time around nearly as much as the arepas it was still fun and I'd definitely be willing to branch out and explore the rest of their menu. What we got: Cachapa Con Queso Y Jamon - 4* nice and savory. I was quite content with my choice and was very full by the time I was done. At first I was surprised there was only half when compared with what my partner got, but that's how it's supposed to be and boy was it enough. Cachapa La Calle 4 Quesos - 3.5* this was also very good, though a bit more bland. There is a lot of cheese with this one and it is BIG. It's like the big brother cachapa, hence it being double the size compared to the others. We definitely took half of this home and will probably spruce it up with egg, bacon, and/or beans when we eat it as leftovers.

Santiago F.

Yelp
Amazing experience and restaurant, overall 10/10 from the appetizer to desserts. Great customer service and environment.

Ashley B.

Yelp
The desayuno was banging and I highly recommend the Guaurapita (guava juice and aguardiente). Service was quick and the place is no frills. Just good food and good cocktails.

Robert M.

Yelp
The Reina arepa is a real game changer. I have tried the majority of their arepas and they are all fantastic, but the Reina is my constant go to. The side sauces are also both great, I love when I have some leftover. This is a great place for lunch or dinner (I haven't tried any breakfast) and I can't recommend it enough.

A P.

Yelp
I cannot wait to come back. The food was so fresh and delicious. I didn't take photos of the other food we bought because I just had to eat it once placed in front of me. The servers were also kind and attentive.

Marietta C.

Yelp
You had me at arepas! This place definitely brought me home especially because in this area there aren't many Venezuelan spots and it's so hard to get your tequeño fix. I love was so happy with the drink selection you can get frescolita, tamarind juice, panela and even chicha! Literally transporting back to Venezuela right now. Food wise there are so many options: tequeños, arepas, empanadas, cachapas, pabellon, patacones and more! I have to say the tequeños were a huge let down. The cheese is definitely not the right one and almost melts right in the dough. The arepas were delicious as well as the cachapas. Again. I felt like I got a little fix from home but not fully fully authentic. Like I said, just happy to have a place like this in the area! Wish they also sold mandocas. The arepa vegana is was to die for. The black beans are the best ever!!!!!!!!!!! And the sweet plantain touch was just amazing. Other than that such a great little spot to come to. Small outside seating area and plenty of indoor space. Great people and great food!

Anika T.

Yelp
Small hole in the wall of a very busy street parking is in front of street or in back by a shopping plaza. Coworker and myself picked up take out which wasnt ready when we originally told. The shredded beef was a bit dry but the rice and beans were good. The sandwich of carne asap had very flavorful beef that was juicy and paired well w the bacon, egg and cheese. Sitting and eating at the restaurant maybe a better option instead of take out as our meals were a bit cold. They do take credit cards

Ilona K.

Yelp
Definitely worth visiting! Everything we've tried here has been amazing! Their drinks are outstanding - we love the Sangria Tropical. We like the Queso Arepa with queso de mano. We've had it grilled and fried and while both are delicious, we prefer their fried arepas. Our absolute favorite arepa is Camaron al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce). We've also had the shrimp as an entree with rice, fried plantains, and salad. Both options are superb. I wish I had a container of this sauce in my fridge - it's perfection. Creamy, yet strong on garlic. We also love the Chuleta de Cochino a la Plancha (grilled pork chop) entree served with mashed potatoes, fried plantains, and salad. The passionfruit sauce makes the dish - don't skip it. Maybe even ask for extra sauce. I would love a container of that in my fridge, as well. The balance of sweet and sour is unreal. Service is outstanding. Even when they're busy, food comes out quickly and they're very attentive. We can't wait to try more from La Calle Arepas Bar. There's plenty of parking behind the restaurant, so there's no reason not to try it!

Walter C.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews. But this place really needs to be given a try. From the warm greeting of the owner, the friendly staff and the excellent Venezuelan food. I would go again.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Great customer service. Smooth to go ordering outlet. Most importantly, the food is simply delicious.

Monica D.

Yelp
Food - amazing Service - amazing Special sauce - amazing Everything we ordered here was great and everyone was so incredibly friendly. We got the tilapia lunch special and 3 arepas (they suggested 2 for one person) to split and it was more than enough food. The fried plantains were absolutely delicious, our favorite arepa was the Pachenga, and we loaded everything with the green sauce (when we asked what it was we were told it was a "special secret"). Happy hour drink prices were decent, we got a few beers and a marg for less than $15. I cannot wait to go back!

Nikky L.

Yelp
This restaurant is my favorite to go to when in town. The Patacon Pollo Mechado will make you want to come back for more. Fresh amazing authentic flavoring and great size portion. I come here every year when in town getting a tattoo and the food consistently stay authentic and the service is always friendly and amazing. Great for family individuals and groups. Very nice atmosphere with wonderful music. Extremely clean

Jen C.

Yelp
As a newbie to Venezuelan cuisine and arepas, this place offers options for every taste and staff is helpful in making suggestions. Staff was friendly and attentive. We started off our meal with their Parchita (passion fruit juice) which was delicious, in fact I might try to get a gallon to go next time we go. Our appetizers were the arepita dulce Crema y Queso (sweet fried arepas with cream and white soft cheese) and Empanadas (shredded chicken, shredded beef and cheese). My friend and I found these apps to both be tasty and a perfect start to our meal. Both were crispy from being fried but not heavy in any way. We decided to try 4 different arepas to share, the catira (shredded chicken with Gouda cheese), Peluda (shredded beef and Gouda cheese), Pabellon (shredded beef, black beans, fried sweet plantains, and shredded soft white cheese) and the reina Pepeada (shredded chicken and avocado). We tried both fried and grilled among these four and interestingly enough my friend who doesn't eat at lot of fried stuff preferred the fried as it wasn't heavy and I preferred the grilled as I found it to be a refreshing compliment to the quality ingredients. We loved all the ones that we tried but our favorites were the Reina Pepeada, which was truly unique and refreshing and the Pabellon, which had a truly complexed and balanced flavor. I couldn't leave without trying dessert especially after hearing that they are made by the owner's mother. Our Beinmesabe ( Venezuelan coconut cream cake) was the perfect end to our meal. It was light, fluffy and filled with coconut flavor. Might order and take this cake to go next time. Pricing is incredibly reasonable for the quality of the food and portion size especially with sharing app. We will definitely be back to this restaurant very soon and can't wait to try more things on the menu especially the burgers!

Jennifers M.

Yelp
The food is amazing. The service is like you are family, so welcoming!!! The place is really clean and they make you feel at home. If you haven't try Venezuelan food you got to go here!!!!

Sergio P.

Yelp
Completely unplanned lunch stop on a Sunday early afternoon. We are just outside the SoNo hot spot and there a lot of Hispanic spots nearby. So we divided on Venezuelan based on positive yelp reviews. The place in bigger than it looks form the outside. There are about 15 tables and it is decorated in a simple and clean style. The staff was friendly and professional and there was a lot of Spanish being spoken by everyone. I added some photos of the menu. There was a lot to choose from which should please many types of eaters. The Sunday brunch menu looked good especially the mimosa section since they make a lot of fresh juices to add. I had already ordered when I saw the burger la Calle picture on the table. It looks amazing. I will add it here as well. I ordered the pollo milanesa with mushroom sauce. The fried chicken cutlets were very good as was the ham and mushroom sauce- not heavily spiced. The American cheese on it seemed out of place. My daughter had the pabellon entrée which is a shredded beef dish - that dish was awesome. The shredded beef was full of flavor and the rest of the plate was a great accompaniment. Great spot to come back to and try more dishes.

Allegra D.

Yelp
Delicious, freshly made arepas! The Reina with chicken and avocado is my absolute favorite - so filling!

Natalia V.

Yelp
Woww. I really enjoyed La Calle and already want to go back! The arepas were so juicy and I loved the sauces they have to offer. Each one was delicious. Service was great and honestly such a nice environment to have a meal at!

Christie A.

Yelp
My friend Giorgie (who is Venezuelan)showed me this cute Venezuelan spot almost a year ago! I had never even had an arepa before but it's definitely a life changer! Ever since, I have gone back multiple times. The atmosphere is fun & traditional & the owner is so warm & welcoming. All of the servers are super friendly as well. Since I'm vegan, my go to is the vegana arepa, I do one grilled & one fried, & a side of rice and I really enjoy their fresh juices as well! A few weeks ago, the owner asked my boyfriend to come try their new Sea-ngria drink! WOW! That is one GORGEOUS drink & it tastes just as good as it looks! You could probably get so drunk off of it without knowing because it tastes so good! We also took another one of our Venezuelan friends here and he really enjoyed it, so that is HOW YOU KNOW!!! If TWO Venezuelans have approved it, you will LOVE IT just like how we LOVE it!

Valentina D.

Yelp
Amazing place berthing was the best it reminds my family of Venezuela I definitely recommend this restaurant

Justin G.

Yelp
Watch out Valencia's there is some competition in the area and they are absolutely delicious. I came here with a coworker on a hot day. The staff was super friendly and tended to us at all times. We had great appetizers such as the empanadas and the avocado chicken dip. We both ordered the carne arepa and it was delicious!! We will be back. P.S. don't get overwhelmed by the menu, it's extensive, I know!

Carolina G.

Yelp
Authentic Venezuelan food with a great variety of arepas and other dishes. Veggie friendly! Delicious food, friendly staff, and the food is made with love. My husband and I have loved La Calle since it first opened and remain loyal customers.

Pete H.

Yelp
Delicious arepas and empanadas. Great for takeout! We loved their rice and beans and ample sauces, also

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Not sure how anyone can give this place less than a four star reView! The food was amazing and authentic. The flavors were bold and so good! I ate the vegan arepa, it is nice to know that they cater to various diets. My husband at the Calle burger and it was jam packed with meat, worth every penny! The cilantro sauce that you can squeeze into your food is ten star!!! If you're in the SoNo area you have to come try this place, you won't regret it!

Drew P.

Yelp
Having just moved to CT, we had to find all the Venezuelan spots. After a little searching, this one stood out and appeared to have a huge buzz. Having been there 3 days, we wasted no time and paid a visit. The menu is diverse; has all the classic Venezuelan staples including both traditional and creative arepas, Venezuelan national dishes and a variety of traditional drinks. Authentic culture, cool atmosphere and a very welcoming and visible owner, you can tell they take great pride in their business making the experience even better. The portions are generous, the flavors are fantastic and after 3 consequent visits, I have yet to try something that isn't perfectly prepared. Having lived in Miami for 2 years and with a Venezuelan fiancé, we know our Venezuelan food and La Calle is fantastic. Highly recommended and will be a staple for us as long as we live here.

Scooter S.

Yelp
What a gem! We drove 40 minutes here and it was worth every mile! The sampler app was amazing. The 3 sauces in the table were CRAZY!!! I'll put it in every!!! The arepas with the 5 sides is the way to go. The pernil is like butter! I can't wait to come back. The waitresses were super nice too!!

Eleni O.

Yelp
I had the camarones al aji. I didn't care for the sauce so I only ate my salad. The strawberry margarita was good but I couldn't finished it. I gave this place a 3 star because they automatically added 18% gratuity without letting us know before hand and also it's not stated anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant. This is a big disappointment to me only because my service wasn't an 18% gratuity kind of service but a 15%. It was not exceptional in anyway. what's worse is that they highlighted , showing us that they did that. Tacky. Will never go back again. Thank la Calle for the first time experience.

Luccianna M.

Yelp
Riquísimo, pedí tequenos y cachapa de queso de mano con carne mechada y estuvo increíble 10/10

Orlando M.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Venezuelan food, this is the place to go! The food was amazing. I went with a group of 7 and the service was on point. We had arepas, arroz con pollo, the La Calle burger, chorizo, and several other dishes. Every one was fantastic and cooked to perfection. The owner, Javier was so welcoming and made great recommendations since it was my first time having Venezuelan food. I will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing experience La Calle! Follow eatnow_thinklater on instagram for more pictures!

Abraham V.

Yelp
This was such a nice surprise. Absolutely loved the arepas. Everything we had was delicious. Get the garlic shrimp arepa!!

Mark R.

Yelp
Met some friends at LA Calle Arepas Bar. We wanted to go to a new place. We are glad we found this place. It is a small place and the food very good. The arepas and cachapas were delicious. I would definitely be back. The fact that they are steps from the movie theatre makes it a great place for a pre or post movie meal.

Jennie S.

Yelp
The best arepas in Norwalk! We always order out and the food always lives up to our expectations. Delicious!

Vanessa J.

Yelp
If you're ever looking for delicious and filling food, La Calle Arepas Bar is the place you need to be! Their menus are so versatile and they serve so many delicious options to choose from. When my friend and I dined, we ordered the Catira (pollo mechado + queso amarillo) (shredded chicken + gouda cheese);Reina Pepeada ( mechado + aguacate) (shredded chicken + avocado); La Calle Hamburger (beef patty + grilled chicken + smoked boneless pork chop and spanish sausage + bacon + ham + cheddar cheese + grilled egg + potatoes sticks + lettuce + tomato + onion + salsas); passion fruit margarita; and an orange juice cocktail. We were very content with our order and left beyond full. Whether you're dining in or taking your order to go, the staff positioned the tables in a certain way to abide by social distancing protocols. I saw them consistently cleaning the tables and chairs in between each customer. For those who prefer to dine outdoors, they had ample amount of tables in front of the restaurant. Along with that, the staff were so attentive, kind, and kept us in good spirits throughout our lunch. I'm looking forward to revisiting whenever I'm in town.

Anna A.

Yelp
First timer. Had dinner. Really excellent, fast friendly service. The entre portion were generous and priced well. The empanada appetizer (we ordered 3 beef) was very good but very small, two bites each were a bit pricy for the size. Excellent green sauce. Definitely will return.

Lourdes A.

Yelp
The food was ok. I order a cachapa so the plantain was sweet and I don't like sweet and salty food together. But had good flavor. 2/4 orders were wrong and since they were closing they could not fix our order. My friends and I also felt rushed to leave because they were closing, they were not rude but felt awkward being rushed and them giving us looks.

Amy L.

Yelp
What a great find!!!! It was small and we could have easily walked by it if it were not for Yelp. The service was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. The chicken patacones was so crispy, not too oily at all and the chicken was unreal. Plus the melted cheese...Perfection. My husband got arepas which he really enjoyed as well. We will 100% be back.

Anju P.

Yelp
I am not much of Venezuelan Arepas. Not sure what I was thinking when I invited a friend over to this place when we had to meet in Norwalk, CT. The menu barely has anything for vegetarians. We ordered a bunch of empanadas and Arepas and nothing stood out. The food is too overpriced.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Found this gem on my way home from Darien. Very delicious with lots of options. Would definitely go back.

Patricia G.

Yelp
I decided to stop here to get some sweet arepas for me and my husband since I have been craving them, and there is one place that I love to go to that does a flat Tortola like arepa and then they put the sweet cheese on top and it's melted and just taste so delicious so I was kind of hoping it would be like that but obviously it wasn't, my Hope was a little high. And even though it wasn't like that I still found it to be delicious but I feel like it would have been even more better if me and my husband came together and ate at the restaurant. I got a order of the sweet arepa with butter and an order of the sweet arepa with cream. I couldn't really tell the difference I don't think the balls were filled with anything, it came with a side of shredded cheese and a whole bunch of different sauces. There seem to be a green one that was really good a white one that may have been the cream but we didn't really like it. An orange one that seemed like a ketchup Mayo Maybe? We're definitely going to be back. I always think it's better to try a restaurant for the first time while sitting down in the restaurant but my pregnant ass just needed it.
