Nice view, decent place, very nice service. The food for the meal, though very good and tasty was a very small portion, especially after hiking the whole day. I'd recommend taking atleast 2 meal on the menu (outside dessert). Now... let's talk about dessert, tldr it was awful. I was expecting to finish dinner on a good note but the dessert was very tiny and not tasty at all. Felt like eating air, nothing sophisticated in it, worst dessert ever actually. 45 each for meal+dessert

Google
This place is a MUST if you are in Montorosso. The outside patio view is beautiful but the inside is just as vibrant and the fun chic atmosphere is fantastic. Christina was our waiter and she was amazing! I also believe she is part owner since this is a family restaurant and affiliated with their michelin star rated restaurant down the street. The food was probably the best i have ever had at an establishment. The tasting menu is fun, unique, more than just one little bite so it is very filling and definitely worth trying. You need a reservation so be sure to make that. We had our 1 yr old and 4 yr old with us and they had a high chair, cup, bib, and dinner wear for her which was so thoughtful. They also made sure to get their orders first thing (half order of plain butter and red sauce pasta) and they came out so quickly which i really appreciated. All this to say please please don’t pass this place up when you visit here!

Google
Great spot in Monterosso serving good food right at the seaside promenade in a cozy setting with very friendly staff. The grilled octopus was very much a highlight.

Google
Great menu with a lot of focus on local suppliers of ingredients. Service was friendly and prompt but not overbearing. Great for if you're looking for dinner in Monterosso

Google
Beautiful waterfront restaurant with delicious food, great service with a detailed explanation of every item ordered and also wonderful humour, and a wide selection of items. We tried the anchovy sampler (i love anchovies!) and it was delicious. Make a reservation because it can get busy. It is affiliated with their Michelin rated restaurant down the street.

I wanted to but I couldn’t love La Cantina Di Miky. The whole way they operate with the 4 preset menus feels a bit weird and from the beggining feels that you’re almost forced to eat one of them to have a good experience. We felt pressured by the waiter and got very little explanation regarding a non-tasting menu. We ended up doing two different tasting menus and the food itself was pretty good but quite overpriced in my opinion. We ate indoors and the whole vibe and ambiance of the place was a little bit off, with music and service that didn’t really match the Michelin prices being charged for non-Michelin food. You could definitely do better in Cinque Terre!

Google
Fantastic place for dinner! We did not have a reservation but they sat us inside in their lovely dining room. Servers are very friendly and funny. The cocktails, anchovies, pasta, and dessert were all superb.

Google
Hands down - best lunch spot in the village of Monterosso. Local eats, with a perfect twist on each to bring out the best umami flavors I have yet to taste in a recent while. Highlights: Trio of local appetizers (octopus, mussels, fish and chips), trio of locally sourced sardines, sardine pasta. Great wine selection, even the orange wine caught my attention in a utmost positive way. Christina and team have my full attention and wish them nothing, but the best going forward. Don’t miss out on this place when visiting Cinque Terra!

Yelp
Was unable to sit outside due to a reservation error but was seated immediately in the downstairs section inside the restaurant so a little warmer than expected. Grilled Octopus - Well seared and cooked perfectly, an excellent starter and wished that is more of entree portion. Panko Crusted Ahi- interesting concept but lacked in seasoning as the ahi itself was a little flat and the accompaniment of the mango/tomato chutney didn't help the overall dish. Service was fine, our waiter unfortunately did not advise that they were out of steak when he reviewed the menu with us so had to do a quick pivot.

Yelp
Excellent experience all around. Table for two, sat outside facing the water on a beautifully cool September evening. Started with a bottle of Il Foresto, a delicious dry affordable and flavorful white wine from Cinque Terre (ordered another bottle to go). For appetizers shared the ceviche and the summer salad - both were very light and fresh with tons of flavor. For mains, shared the pistachio-crusted seared yellowfin tuna (TONNO PINS GIALLA) and the panko-fried amberjack (RICCIOLA FRITTA NEL PANKO). Both fish dishes but so uniquely different from each other. Would get both again. For dessert had the "quick" cheesecake which was seriously out of this world. My only regret is that I didn't try one of the pesto pastas. Saw a few different kinds ordered at tables around me and they all looked great.

Yelp
La Cantina di Miky was our favorite meal in Cinque Terre, and perhaps all of Italy during our trip... we made reservations the day before and were seated at an amazing table overlooking the beach and ocean. Literally doesn't get better... We enjoyed a delicious bottle of Italian wine and started with the fried anchovies (of course!). Each of our main courses were prepared beautifully and cooked perfectly. Our server was wonderful and enhanced a great meal!

Ava S.

Yelp
The service was good, staff were all friendly and nice, but unfortunately all dishes that we ordered were tasteless and cold!! We ordered two fish dishes, and two pasta dishes. Fish was not fresh, it seems it was frozen and cooked rapidly, so the center portion was still cold and hard like rock!! No flavor at all!! Pasta dishes were not tasty either, it was chewy and cold too. It seems it was cooked before and it was only warmed up and mixed with a cold sauce! Very disappointing! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Great views - right on the beach if you sit outside and staff was really nice but was really disappointed in the food. It looked delicious but was so salty it was almost uneditable. We also tried the anchovies which were ok. Had some other places and liked them better

Erica R.

Yelp
Visiting from Oklahoma, USA, we were hoping to try their sister/parent restaurant Miky, but we came on a Tuesday and they weren't open. We tried Cantina de Miky and were super happy with the choice. Amazing service, they were super friendly, and everything was fast and they were thorough. We had the anchovy trio, pesto pasta, mussels pasta, anchovy pasta, strawberry/feta/asparagus salad, Hazelnut dessert was so good, but the lemon cheesecake dessert was top 3 desserts I've had in my life. Amazing textures and taste, I absolutely loved it. A little pricey relative to other places we tried, but absolutely worth every penny. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at La Cantina di Miky in Cinque Terre. We made reservations in advance and were able to sit outside with a beautiful view of the water. We shared all of the courses and enjoyed each one. The dishes were plated nicely and ingredients felt fresh and seasonal.

Yelp
This restaurant is a more casual version of their Miky's restaurant and it still was delicious. The standout dish for me was the pesto pasta. I think I could eat it every day and would never get tired of it. I found it interesting that a lot of places plate it with green beans and potatoes, which I've never seen before but really liked. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the seafood pasta was not too fishy. The outdoor seating here has a fun ambiance and gets filled up pretty quickly. Making reservations is a good idea when visiting Monterosso. We saw many people get turned away because it was just so popular. We hope to visit again one day.

Yelp
Cute, small place with friendly staff and creative takes on classic dishes. Lovely view and strong menu

Mollie G.

Yelp
As an American here with severe shellfish allergies, I was so reassured by Christine with what contaminants were in wash dish. Going from Florence to here I really had worry about not only shellfish but also my tree nut allergy (as it is included in many pesto dishes here). The food was amazing and after Christine's reassurance I felt very safe and heard since food allergies are not common here in Italia. Highly recommend for any traveler visiting and a HUGE thanks to Christine for making me feel comfortable and safe in my food selections.

Yelp
Dinner was so good! stayed in Monterosso for 4 nights and was my favorite dinner there. I love seafood and am a huge fan of cioppino, and they went OFF on their cioppino dish. We also got the anchovy sampler and everything tasted delicious. the thoughtful presentation of food and great service also provided us with a great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
At La Cantina di Miky you will get a farm to table experience with a blend of modern and traditional dishes. We made a booking for our large group for dinner, and the meal was outstanding. The seafood appetizers were very tasty, and we were told some dishes were not available due to rough seas that day so you know it's hyperlocal! We had grilled octopus, salted anchovies, and stewed cuttlefish. Our group ordered almost all the different types of pastas and the desserts and were impressed by them all, in particular we loved the basil dessert. The waitress also helped us with ordering local wines and digestifs, and we loved the burrasca she suggested that is made in Manarola. Great food and service!
google avatar

Melyn N.

Yelp
Let me tell you about the scallops I had here... I stopped here and a whim and it was the best decide. I sat on the patio, overlooking the beach and what a way to have lunch! I ordered the scallops off the seasonal menu and the server asked if I wanted to add black truffles so I did. While in Rome, you know? Oh man...these scallops were the best I've ever had! They were so tender that I cut them with my fork. The scallops, olive oil, pumpkin cream puree, pumpkin seeds, and black truffles were a killer combination. I was so blown away with the flavors! It was rich, creamy, great texture, and well-balanced. All the components worked so well together. I still can't get over how delicious that dish was. WOW.

Yelp
Stay away this place is racist. Preference to whites in the covered seating with made up reservations. No apologies for food being delayed for 45 mins! They forgot to put the order in. Overpriced for tourist. The food was so so and small portions.
google avatar

Lily H.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised at how amazing our meal was here. This was the first village we stopped in and we walked by other diners eating the Ciuppin. Looked so delicious we had to stop to check it out. We ended up waiting about 15min for a table, and then ordered the Ciuppin and special anchovy pasta. Both were so delicious and fresh. The pasta was perfect cooked with the perfect ratio of anchovy to tomato and olives. The Ciuppin broth was exquisite - right mix of tomatoes, herbs, seafood flavor, and a good consistency. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. The food was wonderful. We had anchovies six ways, pasta and fabulous deserts. Manuel and his wife were the perfect host and hostess. Grazie molte. Pat, Kathy, Kevin & Sharon.

Yelp
Great dinner here, everything very flavorful and unique. We had great anchovies marinated in lemon the night before in Manarola, so we ordered it here. Good, but not as good as the other restaurant. Portions are on the smaller side; but we like that so we can try more things.

Yelp
During our stay in Cinque Terre (particular the town we stayed in) i found that there was a lack in restaurants for tourists to visit. This one was recommended by our AirBnb Host as well as mentioned in various Trip Advisor articles. Located beach side, you do get wonderful views when you eat. Our waiter was rather friendly. Supposedly, "La Cantina di Miky" is supposed to be the 'cheaper' version of its sister restaurant "Miky" which was closed during our stay, however, i was rather surprised when most menu items were 17 Euros or more (and mind you portions are rather small). I had the rabbit tortellini. it came with about 5-6 pieces in a confit sauce made with tomatoes, olives and pine nuts. The dish was tasty however, was not filling. my sister had a pesto pasta with swirly pasta, which is supposed to be a staple for this region, i felt lacked flavor. My father got sick to his stomach from the mixed seafood spaghetti. In my opinion i was not impressed. for the price, i expected a bit more in the quality/quantity of food. My drink, on the other hand was delicious and had a wonderful presentation. The flavor or strawberry present. Can't say i would recommend this spot.

Yelp
Aloha, when in the Cinque Terre & visiting Monte Rosso, anchovies are a must. At La Cantina di Miky we had anchovies 7 different ways, LOL. Really they are not just those salty preserved fish out of an oily can that's on your Caesar salad or pizza (although good that way too), when fished fresh, it's small white fish flavored by it's preparation, nice. I really enjoyed all of the ways prepared from salt, sauce to vinegar, but yes, I do love the salty best, LOL. In addition, we enjoyed a very nice salad, squash blossoms, & 5 coop white wine (5 towns so good). I can't say enough about the food in the Cinque Terre. Enjoy!
google avatar

Rochelle C.

Yelp
This is the sister restaurant of Miky across the way, but every bit as good and with better prices! This was my first stop on my self proclaimed "food tour" of Cinque Terre. I had to go all out for myself since I snagged a spot on the terrace overlooking the Monterrosso beach at lunch. Get the anchovy pasta, they said, so I did! Paired it with some Cinque Terre White wine (amazing history behind how it is cultivated and harvested) and of course, loads of bread with olive oil/balsamic. Such a great way to spend the afternoon and get some carb fuel in before starting your CT hike! Only thing is if you're alone, service does seem to be a little rude. Otherwise great stop along the promenade in Monterrosso.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to eat seafood and drink Italian wine at the last stop of Cinque Terre Journey. Every bite of the food was delicious. They have a beautiful view, perfect for people watching. The best seafood pasta in Italy and the best octopus I've ever had. If you are in any of the 5 towns, try to make it here to watch the sunset and eat delicious seafood pasta and drink the finest Italian wine.
google avatar

Yelp
So so good! We got lucky and scored seating on the patio facing the water. The atmosphere was lively and fun as everyone was enjoying their food and wine and the service was great. The house white wine was awesome and affordable, and my pesto pasta was divine. The handmade pasta shape was one I had never seen before and it was a perfect compliment to the pesto sauce. My husband loved the fritto misto as well. We also got the pesto bruschetta--YUM! Obviously if you're in this area you have to get everything pesto! Finally, we got the peach dessert--I forgot the name but it was so yummy. Like crème anglaise and peach slices layered in a cup. We loved our meal so much that we came back 2 days later for our final meal in 5terre! What a treat.

William G.

Yelp
I can't comment on the food. We made a reservation in person, only to be told by the owner that we did not have a reservation and were told to leave. Food might be good. But definitely not the kindest group of people.

Brooke T.

Yelp
Excellent food, engaging and attentive waiters in a beautiful location. The stuffed anchovies are to die for.

Nona B.

Yelp
I wouldn't give this place any stars. They were rude and judgmental. They didn't want to seat us even when we had reservations.

Robert G.

Yelp
Had a wound full dinner there last night. Service was very good nice presentation of the food. Very crowded, but it went well. The only thing that was funny was the posting size was small. So make sure you have some food before you go,not allot . Since we are leaving here today we will not be able to eat there again.

Yelp
la cantina di miky was one of my best restaurants i tried in cinque terre. my friend and i started off with the ceviche and octopus, which were both fantastic, but we liked the octopus a little more than the ceviche because of how perfectly cooked the octopus was. for the entrees, we got the langostine pasta and the pesto pasta. let me tell you - i will NEVER forget these pastas for the rest of my life. the pesto sauce is phenomenal, and i was told by the staff that pesto is always freshly made throughout the made. they are booked with reservations so it may be hard to walk in (i saw many people get turned away because all of their tables were reserved already), so do try to make a reservation if you do want to come here. i do wish i tried the anchovies here because they do have a list of menu items dedicated to anchovies. the cherry on top was the chef coming out to say hello and ask how our meal was. you will not be disappointed if you go here.
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
after a tiring hike through the 5 terres, I couldn't walk anymore to search for food. La cantina di miky is right by the pier in Monterroso, so I sat at the table outlooking the beach. gotta get the seafood pasta since I was staring right at the water. it was a good meal and you can never go wrong with pasta in Italy. wish I had more room in my tummy to try the pesto dishes like the lasagna. its a touristy area, service is as such. I had a great time and enjoyed everything about Italy.
google avatar

Felicity B.

Yelp
Really good! For an appetizer we had the pesto bruschetta (this region is known for pesto) and I feel like my eyes were opened to a whole new world of pesto. Main courses: My fiancé had a pasta dish with anchovies, "the best pasta dish [he's] had in Italy so far and the best anchovies [he's] ever had". I had cut steak/beef with fried tomatoes, crispy potatoes, and burrata. Everything was amazing. I asked the waiter if the steak was fatty or lean (what cut it was) and he said it was "very young" - LOL. So, FYI, it was very lean. The fried tomatoes were awesome and different (I was expecting something like fried green tomatoes but they were more like tiny tomatoes on a vine, no breading involved). The crispy potatoes and burrata were also great. Get it; get it all! The end.

AJ O.

Yelp
A great meal was had. Reservations required with this gem, so call ahead and get a table. You won't be disappointed. This is Italian from leguria with an upscale flair. Still the same food but with that extra touch you get with fine dining. We started with a local white wine, a blend of 3 grapes that was excellent. The octopus was our appetizerp. It comes cooked perfectly, sous vide style with no char or carmelization. Paired with a local purple mashed potato, it was excellent. A nice twist on one of our favorite med apps. For mains, I had the anchovie pasta with capers, olives and tomatoes. Absolutely fantastic. No fishy taste at all, this dish has a thick ragu that is savory deliciousness. On top of their homemade spaghetti, it's simply amazing. Get this dish, a specialty. We also had the pesto pasta on a fartalle-type pasta that really holds the sauce. Very good. Little one had the filet with potatoes. Asked for it medium, it came med-rare but that's typical of Europe. Very good nonetheless. Dessert was the berry ice cream as well as the cream-filled pastries with a strawberry syrup. Excellent. Digestif was a lemoncelo, smooth and tasty. Espresso was great topper. Service was friendly and prompt.

Yelp
Alright, we were recommended this place by a friend and was definitely disappointed by the food here.. I'm hoping it was an off night but none of us were impressed. The service was ok - but the server recommended another squid on Toast dish to go with our anchovies and she ended up ordering a dish for each of us - 3x something we didn't like. Not cool. The anchovies were alright. The squid bruschetta was not good at all - the sauce made the bread super soggy and we just didn't like the sauce. The squid was overcooked and not tasty at all - having to pay for this 3x really sucked. The pesto spaghetti was ok - I thought it was a bit bland, whereas the seafood spaghetti was way too salty. We opted to get out quick since we didn't like much of anything we ordered here. The ambiance is cute - with quotes from Julia Child's on the wall and cute decor!

Corey J.

Yelp
Excellent meal. Wonderful service. Nice outdoor seating. Everything our server suggested was spot on.

Yelp
We had a pretty good dinner here. A local friend told us Ristorante Miky is great, but we were looking for something a little more casual, so came to La Cantina di Miky instead. We really enjoyed the Octopus, Potato, and Tomato Salad, Campanelle Pasta with Branzino and Porcini Mushrooms over Pea Puree, and Lumaconi Pasta with Sea Bass, Zucchinis, and Tomatoes. We even enjoyed the Anchovies Platter even though we are not the biggest anchovy fans. Our waitress was super attentive and kept checking up on us to make sure we liked everything. 1 star off: The only feedback I have is that I wished the drinks were a little bigger. The glass portions were pretty small. I am not looking to get drunk, just to get hydrated -- it is hot!
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
This was very good, although we preferred their fancier sister restaurant down the street. We got the bruschetta (both tomato and pesto), the octopus salad, the pasta with ragu, and the spaghetti with anchovies. Everything was very good, but nothing really blew our minds -- e.g. for whatever reason, we preferred the anchovy pasta at Ristorante Miky the day before. In retrospect, I wish I had tried the pesto lasagna here, which looks amazing in the pictures. Regardless, this is a solid spot, and really convenient from the beach.
google avatar

Judy J.

Yelp
Wonderful food! Very entertaining. Our waitress was very attentive. The house wine was very good and served in a great vase. We had the chefs flight and share between the two of us. The followed up with seafood spaghetti set on fire to finish the crust. And the local catch of the day. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Matthew K.

Yelp
We stopped here for a quick bite as soon as we got to the island. Had a glass of the local wines and a cappuccino. Got peer pressured into a seafood sampler that turned out to be amazing! We saw lots of tables ordering the same thing. Asked for bruschetta, it wasn't on the menu but the manager was quick to offer to make us a plate anyway. Food and drinks were a nice welcome to Monterosso.
google avatar

Maxwell P.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and was blown away. The home made pasta was out of this world. Staters of tomato tartare with burrata, chickpea cakes with tapenade & cod mousse followed by a mouth watering Pesto dish and spinach gnocchi. Finished with a deconstructed coconut cheesecake and pesto/parmigiana parfait which was a perfect mix of savory & sweet! Food A++. Wait staff were attentive, engaging and very friendly. Highly. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Peggy O.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this little gem. Right on the beach with stunning ocean views, the fresh seafood was wonderful. Also enjoyed a pasta with plenty of great veggies in it. Also tried the pasta with pesto and would recommend the other pasta with veggies over it. But, you aren't going to go wrong with anything. Loved the mussels cooked in beer. Loved the evening so much went back a second time.

Yelp
The Waitress Made My Wife Cry! We arrived for our reservation after a long day of travelling from Northern Italy and still suffering some jet lag. We were given our menus and despite being fairly empty inside the restaurant it took some time for our waitress to arrive. On the menus it states that they are willing to make special requests but it might just take some additional time. My wife is vegan with lots of food allergies. All she wanted that evening was a salad followed by some steamed vegetables. When we asked the waitress if she could have some steamed vegetables, the waitress simply said "No" and then responded "I can check but it will probably not be possible." I ordered some wine, the sardine sampler and some pesto pasta. As the waitress walked away, my wife began to tear up. The combination of travel and rude waitress was a bit too much for her. The waitress later returned and probably seeing that my wife was upset said that she had checked with the kitchen and they can make some steamed vegetables. The service was very slow even for Italian standards. The local house wine was OK. My sardine sampler was large and very good. When my pasta arrived, I asked for some Parmesan cheese but I think the waitress forgot. I had to ask again later and still nothing. Finally, I got up and went to the bar thinking I could get some but got scolded by the waitress for doing this. The cheese showed up after I had eaten about 3/4 of the pesto. The pesto and pasta were good but not as good as I had at other restaurants in the Cinque Terre. My wife's ate her salad and steamed vegetables. She then asked the waitress if she could have another plate of steamed vegetables. I am not kidding you. The waitress rolled her eyes, sighed and gave us a look like "you have got to be kidding me." My wife quickly told her not to worry about it as we just wanted to leave at this point. After a long wait thinking I would ask for the check, the waitress brought out another plate of steamed vegetables. After some more waiting, we got the check, paid and left. The Bottom Line: Another Rick Steve's flop. The food was good but not great and the service was atrocious. We struck up a conversation with another couple in the train station and they had a horrible experience at the higher end Miky up the street. This couple convinced us to try Ciak and that restaurant was incredible.

Yelp
Our second meal at Cantina was just as great as the first! For or first meal we had the squid pasta and the line caught fish. The pasta was delicious and a fun texture with the curly pasta. The fish was cooked perfectly and came with amazing slightly mashed potatoes and broccoli. We had the house white wine which is slightly effervescent. For dessert we had the lemon sorbet which is nice and creamy yet tart. Given we are in Monterosso we also shared the lemon torte and wow, get it! The service was fabulous and the right amount of attentiveness plus willingness to share tips of the area. For a post hike lunch we had the baccalao and the calamari. The baccalao came with the most amazing red sauce I've tasted and the fish was cooked to be perfectly soft. The calamari was some of the best ever especially since you just have fresh squeezed lemon and honestly no desire to dunk it in mayo! It also comes with fried zucchini slices which were a nice twist. We ended with the lemon sorbet mixed with prosecco and vodka, yum! Trust me, you will want to be sure to dine at Cantina. They also take reservations for their indoor dining room for the evenings.

Yelp
Definitely a food highlight of my time in Cinque Terre. Based on the solid Yelp/TripAdvisor reviews, plentiful Michelin Guide stickers, and recommendation of our Airbnb host, we decided to try it out. During peak season, making a reservation is definitely recommended. Its a nice, white-tablecloth restaurant with good service and finer meals. The bread to start was a mix of white and wheat breads that were both good. I went with the Spaghetti with Anchovies, which I thought was really good and fresh. One neat thing they do is they wrap each pasta dish in a thin piece of dough covered in oil, which they light up tableside to make way for the pasta underneath and provide a nice, slightly burnt dough piece to sit alongside your pasta. We also got the fish, which was well cooked and comes with slivers of fried potatoes that are drenched in olive oil. Overall a solid place for a nice meal.

Yelp
Wonderful service at the outside covered patio. We had lunch and beverages there and enjoyed people watching in the shade. It's a little crazy though, you definitely get cranky tourists demanding a seat or hovering waiting for you to leave. Really wouldn't eat inside except perhaps at night...
google avatar

Diane N.

Yelp
Difference between this miky and the other one is this one seems more casual in terms of ambience and more non seafood options. The boyfriend and I came for dinner. The outside patio is very nice and overlooks the sea (as does the rest of the restaurants on the street). The hostess organization was a little confusing as the "line" started no where near the door. I sugges the restaurant put a hostess stand by where they want customers to line up at. We did not make reservations but was able to be seated immediately (7:30 - however, the line got long once we were seated). We ordered the following: - Caprese salad: I don't recommend, doesn't taste fresh like ones I've had before - seafood spaghetti: not the best but decent - spaghetti bolognese: again, not the best but decent - tiramisu: very good, definitely visit again for this - beer selection: (boyfriend is a beer snob) best selection that we saw in all 5 coastal towns If there isn't a line, I would say dine here but not worth the wait.

Yelp
This restaurant is right on the beach of Monterosso. On a really hot day we actually opted to sit downstairs instead where there's a cool bar and a very good local microbrew selection. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. I probably had the best pasta on our trip to Italy here and I cannot for the life of me remember the name. It was a special listed, handwritten, on the first page of the menu. Hopefully it's still there if anyone wants to try it. We also tried the seafood spaghetti which was also good.

Yelp
Cute decor! They have a great covered patio seating with a nice view. It was busy on a Tuesday night but we just had to wait a few minutes for a table of two. They bring bread to the table which is always nice. Definitely on the pricier side here. I think it was around 70 euro for two entrees and two drinks. They have a large menu with lots of interesting things - a nice change from the standard italian fare. There's a whole page of anchovies (a local specialty), a page for pasta and a few other misc things that I can't remember. We started with bruschetta and local olives -both were tasty. My husband got seafood pasta which was good and I got anchovies in tomato sauce. The anchovies were good but a little boring - I don't know what I was expecting but it was literally just a pile of anchovies in tomato sauce with a tiny piece of bread. Nothing to write home about. My favorite thing I had was the Cantina Sprtiz which was a lighter, tropical twist on a typical spritz (am I the only person who thinks that the bright orange spritz look and taste like cough syrup????) The tables are pretty close to each other so you'll probably end up chatting with the people sitting next to you! Lovely place with good vibes and tasty food. Worth visiting if you're staying in the area!

Yelp
First off, the location is amazing. Right on the beach near the train station in new town Monterosso, so it's impossible to miss. The decor is nice and without knowing anything about it it's one of the best looking places on the beach. I ordered a Cantina Spritz (which was amazing) and then had a few glasses of wine. Two of us split an appetizer of focaccia with olive oil, olive spread, and pesto - it was so delicious I probably could have been content with that. For my main course I ordered the pesto lasagna as it was the only vegetarian option I saw aside from sandwiches or salads, but it was very good. Cinque Terre is famous for its pesto so it was a good option. It seems like every dish I saw brought out looked spectacular. Service was great too - much better than what you're used to in Italy.

Yelp
This little cantina is also owned by the fancier version just a stones throw away also called Miky. Don't be alarmed if you are seated and your server doesn't come back for 20 minutes. In fact, I would suggest getting a drink while they are seating you because there's no rush here in this cantina. The food is probably one of the best spots in monterroso. The calamari is awesome and washes down nicely with a liter of house wine (for just about €13 for the wine). If this is your first dinner in cinque terre, don't be alarmed when there is a €2 table charge per person. Every restaurant adds it. Beats paying tax and tip! We'll be back Miky!

Yelp
This place was a perfect place to grab lunch, they have a cute little patio that views the ocean. We wanted to try fresh anchovies and they had an anchovy sampler which was a perfect way to experience them for a first time. We liked all of them! They have fun/unique drinks. The indoor area was super cute and they have a nice bathroom which is sometimes hard to find even in nice restaurants! I heard this place is great to go at night for drinks but were on the other side of Monterosso (Old Town) so we went to a bar over there and were too exhausted to trek back over there.

Yelp
Had dinner al fresco besides the boardwalk. It's location near the train station makes it very convenient for those on the way to Riviera points north or Cinque Terre south. I ordered the trophie (a kind of pasta) with pesto. He ordered the mixed fried seafood platter. And we had mixed acciughe (anchovies) as an appetizer. His calamari was-well seasoned and crisp. My pesto was nice and garlicky. The anchovies with lemon were the good, obviously fresh. A good lively destination for a traveler to this resort town.
