This spot is a gem! It feels like you’re eating in someone’s home. The foods local, authentic, and not overly-priced for a tourist-driven area. The gnocchi were perfectly soft, but not mushy and the braised beef was tender and flavorful. The dessert was something special. Try the rosemary creme brûlée. It was outta control and really good. I’d easily return for the homemade, local feel and great food at very reasonable prices.

Nice authentic place. There are two rooms with tables both are nice. The staff speaks English and French . You can order glasses or Barolo or any other wine of surrounding regions they have quite some wines to choose, so eat your heart out. The food was very nice, I had a lovely risotto and my main was braised beef in Barolo wine. The panna Cota was very tasty too.

If rustic quality is what you are after, and a deviation from pasta etc, this restaurant meets the requirements. We were first there on a Monday night (when many restaurants are closed) and promptly seated, thinking we would be the lone diners for the evening. We were wrong. Within half an hour the place was full. And the food, service (thanks Giancarlo) and prices did not disappoint. We shared the risotto special, which was made with Bra sausage, and it was superb- great taste and very filling despite being shared. For the main meal we ordered the lamb cutlets with lentils and the wild boar. Seriously, the flavours were incredible, both served with mash and peas. Great comfort food which was much needed after 6 weeks away from home! Wine options were also solid, including half bottles for some varieties. If you are craving home style cooking in Barolo, this is the place.

Yesterday evening my partner and i came back for the fourth time. The last four summers we came to Barolo to collecte Some great wine and When we do we have at least a lunch of dinner Here. Every time the food is so good again, the real piemontese dishes coocked at a absolute high level for a abnormal good price! Again and again we are amazed by this restaurant! Tip: It is best to make a reservation!

I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience for the taste buds! Every course, from the appetizers to the dessert, was flawlessly prepared. The freshness of the ingredients and the meticulous attention to detail were evident in every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each dish was presented beautifully. The service was equally outstanding – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The ambiance added to the experience, making it a delightful evening. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

For 26 years we always stop and have a meal here. It is a benchmark. The best version of the food of the region and the wine list is both exceptional and reasonable. If you only have time to make one choice, this is it. Others are middling to very good, but this family deliver the best example year after year. Do not miss the superb pasta with the eggs or the delicate, delicious pannacotta for dessert. Both are unequalled in this town or others nearby. Make a booking as it has become busier every year. Buon Appetito!

Lunch at La Cantinella in Barolo was a delightful experience, framed by the restaurant's rustic charm and a welcoming, refined atmosphere. Nestled in Italy’s renowned wine country, it offers an authentic taste of Piedmontese cuisine with a modern touch. The service was outstanding—attentive, yet unobtrusive, adding a special note to our visit. The menu featured a standout dish, the fresh pasta with ragù, which was possibly the best I've ever tasted. Expertly prepared, the pasta perfectly complemented the rich, flavourful sauce, making each bite a culinary delight. The quail was another highlight, succulent and well-seasoned, though the accompanying mashed potatoes were slightly heavy for a lunch serving. One shortcoming was the lack of vegetarian options, which could have enhanced the inclusivity of the menu. Despite this, the quality and execution of the dishes presented were impressive. Since we were driving, we skipped wine, but this didn’t lessen our enjoyment of the meal. Our lunch at La Cantinella was memorable enough to ensure a return visit, hoping next time to possibly explore their wine list more fully.
