11 Best Bars in Seville for Flamenco, Jazz, and Rooftop Cocktails | Condé Nast Traveler

"Housed in a ramshackle former coal warehouse with a tree-ringed patio, this widely known spot remains one of the best places in town for flamenco: take a seat on long wooden benches, watch crowds fall silent, and be moved by impassioned performances (shows are usually on the hour) that invite you to clap along and shout olé." - Adam Turner

Google
Free flamenco show with decent priced drinks. The show was incredible! I loved that they don’t let any one video tape, it kept the view phone free and everyone in the moment. PLEASE respect that wish if you go. Shows start at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 I believe. I would recommend going right at 9pm because the first crowd leaves and the second group trickles in slower.

Brian

Google
Wonderful experience being able to see their Flamenco performance. The drinks are well priced and it gets very busy before the show at 8:30. Please do not take videos as they ask you not to during the performance and respect their wishes.

Jamie

Google
It's a good place for cheap drinks and flamenco shows. It gets packed during the show obviously. Spare enough time before a show to ensure you get a good spot. The performance feels more raw than institutionalized flamenco shows you see at the theatre. I recommend you try both while in Andalusia!

Google
amazing place! if you came here without cash, you didn’t do your research. this place is FULLY CASH ONLY! [seats] we came on a Monday around 715pm and the better seats in the house are almost all taken up. if you want good seats, come here at 7pm, get your drinks and tapas, and wait for the 830pm show. [food] we got the spicy chorizo sandwich, dressed tomatoes and potato omelette. the sandwich and tomatoes were quite salty, and the omelette was ok. also got a lemonade but won’t recommend it as it didn’t taste fresh like it was advertised. total was 15€, kinda expensive for the quality but love the rustic vibes of the place though, so that’s worth it. [flamenco] strictly no photos and videos on the performances, and they collect tips at the end. it was such a beautiful performance, so much authenticity and soul in the music and dance, the expression on the dancer was beautiful! you have to come watch it. we saw some people coming really late and close to 830pm to catch a quick glimpse of the show and head out. so it’s up to you if you wanna stay for the authentic informal vibes or simply catch a free show. overall we enjoyed our first flamenco experience here! 10/10 would recommend.

Google
unfortunately, it was very crowded when i came for the flamenco show, so I recommend arriving early. the gentleman at the bar said there were three shows a day, at 20.00, 21.00 and 22.00, and he was very kind. finally, i think it was the best sangria i've ever had (3,5 euro)

Laura

Google
Great flamenco show! It can get a bit crowded but it's totally worth it for the whole experience. You can buy some good drinks and snacks. Keep in mind it's cash only

Ann-Sophie

Google
Great place with free flamenco. Shows at 8:30pm, 9:30pm and 10:30pm. The prices for the drinks are also very cheap. The place is really full with people, so I recommend to come 30 minutes early before the show starts.

Elanur A.

Google
i came here with higher expectations but im disappointed. First of all, if you come early and find a seat, people who come later will stand in front of you and block your view. This problem should be fixed. And we paid 10 euros for 2 beers, 2 patatas fritas (chips). Patatas fritas was 1.5 so one beer is 3.5 euros. I think 3.5 euros is a bit expensive for a beer.

Yelp
Yes came here 20 years ago. Stumbled into it for just drinks and then there was a Flamenco Show. I came back 20 years later and you still get a show. All you have to do is buy drinks or food. The beer came fast and so did the food. For being a busy place they took care of business. I came to the early show. They said there are 3 but nothing posted anywhere online. Bench seats and long tables made it easy to make friends easy. Once show started the mood changed. Everyone was focused on the dancer and guitar players.

Neha S.

Yelp
Rlly well priced place but the show u get really depends on the day. Saw a lot of tiktoks of the dancing however when i went it wasn't the best show but it's also free (just tip cash) so i guess it makes sense lol. Definitely has a nice local charm but fyi it does get very packed. Overall check it out!

Yelp
Note: cash only We came here on our first night in Spain to grab a drink and catch the flamenco show. There was a show going on when we arrived around 10:50, so the main entrance was closed off, but we went through the side entrance and ordered drinks at the bar. I got a small glass of the orange wine, since I heard that was the specialty in Sevilla and wanted to try it. It was a sweeter wine but had a slightly bitter after taste. There were already a lot of people there, so it was a bit hard for us to see the performance, but from what I could see, it was really good. When it finally ended around 11, the lights came on. My friend and I didn't want to wait around for the next performance, so we finished our drinks and left. They also have plenty of seating outdoors in the courtyard, so if you want to just grab a drink but not watch the show, you can always sit outside and chat.

Yelp
If you want the real flamenco experience, this is not it. The place is very crowded, the stage is on a corner where pretty much nobody can see anything, the performers only do two songs and that's it. It would be perfect if the stage was a little more centered and they were not 1000 people standing covering the view.

Yelp
When in Seville, you have to see a flamenco show. While there are many shows offered, La Carboneria is the only one I found that is FREE aside from watching it at the Plaza de Espana. While there's no entrance fee, be sure to tip the performers and bartenders here to make up for it. We arrived at 8:30pm and the next showing started at 8:45pm. When we arrived, it was crowded with only standing room left, but I was able to score a standing spot right in front of some tables, so had no one blocking me. The "stage" is located in the corner next to the food bar area, so try to find a spot over there. Also, there are no photos/videos of the performance. The spot gets hectic and busy, so you need to be a little patient here to catch the show. Everyone is trying to watch, so it got a bit annoying when people were stepping in front of me. At least we also had some sangria and beer, which was affordable. Note: CASH ONLY!

Yelp
My wife and I are long-standing fans of La Carboneria, having discovered it in 2017. We were there last night, Feb 26 2025, and it was as good as ever. There are three sets a night. We came in during the second set and had to stand part way back in the long room - but at the change of sets, a lot of people left so we could move up to seats with an excellent view. There is about a half-hour break between half-hour-long sets. They have different performers on different nights. The man dancing last night was excellent, very strong and rythmic, and the guitarist and singer/clapper were good too. They are now asking that people buy one drink - that used to be optional - but well worth the 4 or 5 euros. We did not have any of the snacks. In the past, they have risen to the standard of acceptable. Photography and videos are OK but no flashes. Tips for the performers are encouraged, and they are well deserved. They have a container for them outside the door as you leave.

Yelp
Went MANY years ago on honeymoon, loved the place and went back the next night. Great ambiance. Glad to see it's still getting good reviews. Just looked it up b/c in-laws are going to Sevilla and wanted to pass info along. A little hard to find back in the days of paper maps and guidebooks....

Yelp
FREE! After just seeing some professional flamenco at La Casa del Flamenco, I wanted more. Luckily, thanks to the internet, I read about this nearby bar weeks in advance. Well, its not really a bar, its really an outdoor patio with a large tent/tarp setup, and inside are some community tables, benches, art works, and a bar. Very low budget, but its real, does the job, and even the locals love it. Its tricky to find, just remember that Sevilla's streets are narrow and don't be afraid of a dark alley. La Carbonería has apparently been around for decades showcasing amateur and student flamenco dancers. I'm no expert, but these dancers seemed just as good the professionals I saw an hour earlier. Beautiful, flowing, and powerful...loved it! These are short performances, but its FREE! Cheap prices for beers, wine, and €5 liters of sangria, oh yes! Stage is tiny, so get there early if you want one of the few good viewing seats.

Yelp
Heard about this place for free flamenco from multiple sources, including my local tour guide. Located slightly farther from the center of the city than most tourist spots, but it's free flamenco, so can't complain. Mixed crowd of locals (mostly at the bar) and tourists in very close quarters. They have shows at 9:30PM, 10:30PM, and 11:30PM with a single dancer, a guitarist, a singer, and a drum in the background. The stage is a relatively small area to the front left of the bar. Gets crowded easily. I arrived at 9:20PM (on a very rainy day!) for the 9:30PM show, and I was already standing in the furthest corner diagonal from the stage. If you stand, it's likely you'll only see the top half of the flamenco dancer. Everyone who arrived later and stood behind me was straining to see over heads. Drinks were reasonably priced. -1 star bc it's a bar with loud, drunk people that can't be quiet when the show starts, so ambiance could be better. Also, they state no photos/videos, but the bouncers didn't enforce it/some people came in late and didn't hear the announcement, so there are some photography flashes. But the performers are definitely passionate!!! Tldr; worth it for the (free) flamenco show if you just want to experience flamenco

Yelp
We came in for flamenco because we were told it was amazing and free -- the best of both worlds! After finding our way to La Carboneria, we stopped in. The place does not have any big signs on the outside so you have to be a little watchful of where the place is, but once you get inside it's pretty easy to get around. Odds are the place will probably be packed full of tourists there to see flamenco. There are two big rooms -- one looks like it's just for music while the other has a bar and lots of benches and tables in front of a small stage. This is where the flamenco happens! You can sit pretty close to the stage but you will probably have to get there early to snag a table. Prices are reasonable and the place serves tapas and drinks. The tapas are serve yourself, so there's no waiter to take your order. You simply fill out the form and bring it to the counter and then get your tapas. You can stand near the bar by the stage but you will have to buy a drink to stand there. The flamenco is very cool here. Think lots of clapping, stomping, and singing. The show lasted about 30 minutes and I was very pleased with it. Great, fun little spot to catch a flamenco show!

Yelp
I've never been to a flamenco show so I have no comparison. This show is free and lasts 25 min with 20 min break between shows. Needed a Gps to find it. Open air place with large communal tables facing small stage. Can get warm inside. You order drinks at bar...2-6euros. I had the Seville agua...don't recommend it. Pineapple, cava, triple sec pre-made drink topped with whipped cream. 5euro. Very sweet. Our show was okay. I'm glad we made the effort to check it out.

Yelp
Beautiful flamenco and reasonably priced drinks. Arrive early if you want a good seat-but a bad seat is still pretty good. Highly recommend!

Yelp
IF YOU WANT TO SEE FLAMENCO, SKIP EVERYWHERE ELSE AND JUST COME HERE. When in Sevilla, coming here is a must. They open around 8pm, it's a self-seating environment with picnic style tables. The show usually starts around 9:30pm and will end around 11pm. This is an authentic Spanish experience that you should not miss. (My wife studied abroad about 20 years ago and she said the place has not changed since then.) The closer to show time that you get here, the smaller your selection of seats will get. It is free for all ages. I suggest based on this mom and pop type place that you buy at least one drink during your time here. We also got chips and guacamole during the show. There is a counter you can order at and things cost between 2-5 euros.
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
This bar is popular for a reason. It has great atmosphere, cheap drinks and food, and it is obvious this is where the locals go. They have flamenco shows with live music every 30-40 minutes beginning around 8:30 that are free to watch but you can't video or take pictures during the show, although you can buy the music afterwards. The show was incredible, the sangria was fresh, and overall I would recommend coming here at least once!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Free flamenco shows here! If you want really good spots I suggest coming here 1-2 hours earlier or if you get lucky you'll find yourself an alright seat with a glimpse of what's going on. Anyways that's what happened to us. I heard the food wasn't that great so you can definitely eat at another restaurant and then come and enjoy a drink with the show. They don't allow filming/photos of the actual flamenco.. which is kinda disappointing. Mojito (€4.50)- 4/5 This was without alcohol and still pretty good but the entire drink was mostly solid ice so we drank it within a couple of minutes.

Yelp
La Carboneria is a very good venue (and bar) for Flamenco lovers (and none). Its atmosphere is always relaxed and lively, depending on the night of the week you're going. The genuine Flamenco dancers and singers are talented and entertaining, so if you're around Seville just pay it a visit. A mixed crowd of locals and tourists and the fact that you're going to be sharing benches is a great excuse to socialise and make new friends. Recommended.

Yelp
Male Bartender is a thief. Ordered drinks and paid. Bartender would not give change. I always tip, guess the bartender took it upon himself to tip himself. Then I watched him do the same thing to other tourists. Shameful. Place would be 4 to 5 star without this guy!
google avatar

Yelp
Free flamenco! Nine euro for a pitcher of sangrias - that were horribly sweet and from a box. Be warned, it was too sweet for me to consume. On the upside, the performers were fun and festive (disclaimer: I'm no flamenco expert) We strolled in on a Sunday night and loved that La Carboneria felt raw and authentic like a neighborhood hole in the wall with a mixture of locals and tourists.

Yelp
Loved the night watching Flamenco over drinks and snacks! I believe they have shows daily starting around 9:30, though sometimes there are special events like book presentation on their website so worth checking beforehand or try going on weekends. We got there early 8, and the tables closest to the small stage were already taken. There were also tables on upper floor with view to the stage. The guitarist, singer and dancer generally faced the entrance. Drinks were reasonably priced (sangria, mojito, cocktails and beer), and they also had finger food (guacamole and chips, hot dog, ham and cheese plate etc.). I'd recommend making here the last food stop for the night if staying for two acts or more, since most restaurants close their kitchen after 11pm at least in November - we had a hard time getting proper food later that night, over-adjusting to Spanish food schedule :P The Flamenco show was certainly worth the wait. It was more informal compared to those in theater venues like Museum of Flamenco that we went the next day, and just male dancer, but the whole ambience was lively and performance was memorable and full of passion. Try getting there early for seats with great view, though it was possible people leave during breaks. Would definitely go back next time traveling back to Sevilla.

Yelp
This was listed as one of the recommended places to see flamenco by our Airbnb. We weren't sure what to expect, since the shows were free and most in the area required tickets, but we were pleasantly surprised! We got here about 30 minutes early and were still able to get a table, although it was in the back. That wasn't a problem for us though, and we found that we could still see the performance once it started. There was this one reserved table in the front left corner that seemed like an awesome spot, so maybe call in to reserve it if you want the best view (not sure if this will cost money). We loved it here because of the casual atmosphere, and we were able to enjoy food, drinks, and an awesome flamenco show with our family, friends, and 8 month old son. They don't serve full meals here, just tapas, but they were all so amazing! My friend couldn't stop raving about the tuna and tomato dish our whole trip (even after we had left Spain). They also serve pitchers of sangria along with other local drinks. We went down the list and tried each one. My favorite was the sangria, but that's because I like sweeter drinks. Overall, great experience. I believe they have two shows per night. I would come back!

Yelp
Great place if you are looking to see a live flamenco for free! Drinks are not great but a pretty reasonable price, and people are mostly there to see the performance. There is an awesome outdoor seating area. Inside is where the dancing happens, and there are large communal tables for people to sit at. People fill the tables on both the ground and upper level, and stand along the perimeter against the walls. There are performances 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30pm, and the place gets crowded so try to get there around 45min before whatever show you want to see. The dance floor is small so try to sit as close to it as possible. Someone plays an acoustic guitar, there was a man singing (he wasn't very good), and when we came, one woman dancing. She was amazing and very fierce, although I know nothing of flamenco! Definitely worth seeing! We ordered a pitcher of sangria for €9. It was just me and my friend, and the pitcher was more than enough. Definitely good for 3-4 people to share. The sangria was not really good, kinda watered down, and did not have a great flavor, but it was ok. The performance was more than worth it, and it wasn't very expensive for the amount we got. Overall very cool experience. Definitely check this place out if you want to see flamenco for free!

Yelp
A local hangout where you can watch authentic gypsy flamenco. Not too fancy, not plastic. Wooden seats with a simple stage in a courtyard and a nice large bar. Order salami and cheese, served on a paper with pita chips and get a pitcher of Sangria. Enjoy the singing and dancing performance by flamenco gypsies. Don't go there if you are looking for a Disneyland performance! This is the art of the old pawed streets. I loved it. Video: http://youtu.be/B3mliZymQlI

Yelp
This is flamenco Central for the masses. Imagine a beer hall but for flamenco serving up sangria, beer, and charcuterie and cheese. It has great energy and I am sure the performers are talented, but is difficult to get A good view. A good avenue To catch a performance if you are on a tight budget.
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
A true, raw and impassioned flamenco experience. Referred to us by some local students at the university. The walk alone, along busy cobblestone streets and tight corners helped build the anticipation. The intimate and almost underground atmosphere provides the backdrop for one of the best nights you will ever have in Sevilla
google avatar

Glexi G.

Yelp
Best flamenco! If you're looking for a legit flamenco show, without all the touristy frills, go to the 8:30-11pm show. It's hot and humid and not fancy at all, but the music and dancing is passionate and REAL and exactly what I wanted to see. Seats are bleacher style and I would recommend arriving just a little early. I believe they are open later on weekends. I can't attest to the food but the drinks are bomb.
google avatar

Chelsea P.

Yelp
Visited this spot with my family during a short stay in Lisbon based on a recommendation from a friend who studied here. The evening felt quintessentially Spanish with great drinks and an amazing live performance. We ordered a delicious pitcher of Agua de Sevilla without even knowing or caring what was in it. The highlight of the night was the performance by a singer, guitarist and flamenco dancer. The show was intimate and incredible. A night we will not soon forget!

Ling X.

Yelp
We came here by suggestion of a friend. Despite the bartenders telling us the show would start at 9, it didn't start until close to 10 - probably because they wanted more people before starting. We got there early to snag good seats. The dancing was good, and the musicians were obviously passionate, but it was a bit ..underwhelming. We ended up getting tickets to a flamenco show at the museum, which blew us away - but I mean, this was free, and a good intro to flamenco, so I don't regret coming. Plus I got to try Agua de Sevilla! Be warned - it is stifling in the summer...no AC and the fans just circulated warm air.

Sofia O.

Yelp
La Carbonería has quite a few food options, but the biggest reason to visit in my opinion is to see a free flamenco show. This is a spot with a serene, friendly atmosphere, good drinks, and a passionate flamenco crew. The show was fantastic and it felt like there were many locals!
google avatar

Oliver C.

Yelp
This place is known as the underground gypsy style flamenco place. Opens about 8. First 30 min performance was around 9:30pm. Second around 10:30pm. Thankfully they have a super cheap bar. Little jugs of Tinto de Verano for 6€. (Individual glasses at 2€ each, so get the big jar!! Goes down super easy.). Sangria for 10€ per pitcher. They have the standard olives, Iberian ham, cheese and tomato combination plates. And 3€ hot dogs. I can't speak to the food. Looked like snack/bar food. But you're probably here for the music and the flamenco performance and that was superb, given there was no cover charge. Wish I saved my 60€ from the 3 tickets I previously bought for a performance at another venue and just came here for drinks every night instead. 80% of the dress, 100% of the passion and 0% of the cost. Treat your bartenders and performers right instead!

Yelp
We were looking for a place to go watch Flamenco in a local setting. Our cab driver suggested this place and it turned out to be a great experience. The place gets quite crowded so try to as early as possible before the showtimes. We only had some drinks and they were cash only. Overall we had a great time! In retrospect this was a good decision because other Flamenco places are too touristy apparently and a big time commitment.
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
This place was so lively and fun! The show is free! You just have to pay for drinks/food. You order drinks at the bar and food across the room on the other side by the stage. They offer sangria and a variety of other cocktails/drinks for a fair price. The food is simple/tapas style. Most of the tapas are served with crackers (pretty uninteresting ones) but the cheese and tomato/vinegar tapas were good. Warning: if you come in June like we did, it will be very hot! They have fans inside but it isn't air conditioned. I was really impressed by the flamenco dancer's ability to wear a fully buttoned up long sleeve shirt with vest in this weather. She was kind enough to take a photo with us after. Flamenco dancing is powerful, intense, emotional and moving. I was very impressed by the live singing, live band and by the dancer. The best part of the show was when a little boy flamenco dancer came out and did a little number. It was incredibly adorable. Downside to this place is that you may not be able to see the stage depending on your table. The stage isn't elevated or on any kind of platform. Half of the tables are on floor level while the other half is on an upper level. When the "show" isn't on, there are piano players to entertain you. I hope the flamenco tradition lives on forever. TIP: wear mosquito repellent because I definitely got bites here.

Nozenji Z.

Yelp
Yes. Good Guacamole, for Spain, and no cover charge. Not exactly non touristy, but right enough.
google avatar

Helen S.

Yelp
Free show is great and totally worth it. The wait staff is not the most friendly - maybe because I don't speak much Spanish. They have live music when I stepped in a little after 9 - on the small "stage" on the upper deck inside. The main show starts at 9:30pm and there is another one at 10:30. Look for the small square "stage" and grab a seat facing it. Overall a good place to grab a drink, enjoy the show and get a taste of Seville.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
Have to elbow your way to get a drink. Good drinks though. This place fills up! Get there early to get a seat. Flamenco goes on at 9:30p. They play for 30 mins, then take a 30 min break, and so on. Great singer and guitarist. The flamenco dancer walked out for the second act, so it was just music. Was a good solo act though and really nice that it is free. Would go elsewhere for food -- they have chips and guacamole, hot dogs and other non-traditional items, but the quality is not amazing.
google avatar

Jay W.

Yelp
You know, I had originally planned on giving this place 4 stars. I planned on taking off one star because it is run down and the food looked awful and most of the drinks weren't worth it. However, giving this place anything less than 5 stars is unacceptable to me. Flamenco dancing. And not like the flamenco dancing that you will see at the other places where tickets are bought, there is soul here. Don't get food. Don't order their "signature drink" (Agua de Sevilla). Drink the wine, beer, or liquor, watch some people do some amazing things. Watch the power and talent that comes out of these unassuming people. I was surprised how intense some of the singing and dancing was. This was one of the few places that we had repeated attendance throughout our travels in Spain. The first night we were there, the entire front area seemed to be filled with the performers' family. Many of them seemed to know the songs, and were participating. While this place is filled with tourists, it is far from a tourist trap. I get the impression that the performers would be doing similar dances even if there was no one there to watch. Shows last about a half hour, and there is a half hour break in between shows. Take advantage of that break (when others might leave) to get closer to the "stage." And by stage, I mean the piece of wood that is laid on the floor.
google avatar

Zack P.

Yelp
I love this spot. It is stripped down to the basics: soulful music and good drinks. Get here early if want to get a good seat for the show
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
The flamenco in this bar is outstanding. We took our kids (13 and 7) and we all enjoyed thoroughly (maybe not so thoroughly for our 13 year old since she is 13). This is not a commercial show: more raw and authentic. The singer was incredible: very powerful. The guitarist was amazing and the dancer good. While there are plenty of tourists, there are just as many locals. it doesn't feel like a tourist trap. And the bar setting is raw as well and feels like a dive bar. I wondered at first if it would be appropriate for my kids, but that worry was unwarranted. My 7 year old was begging to go back the next night and I felt myself wanting to go as well and will definitely do so if I return to Seville. Now the food is inedible; the wine is undrinkable. Eat somewhere else then come, order a beer and enjoy the show.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great experience! One of my friends recommended this spot to us for some Seville culture. My boyfriend and I almost missed this building- you wouldn't believe that there was live dancing/singing here from how quite it was from the outside!!! When We came pretty late- the performance was already done and we thought we missed it. Everyone had left the main room! But what had happened was that they all moved into a smaller room, where they continued the party with after-hour performances. What an authentic flamenco performance!!!! There was an old man (a regular) in the crowd who joined the performance as well, and he seemed to be well-respected in the crowd. At one point, a mother and daughter started performing traditional flamenco dancing. What an amazing night!
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
I gave this place a 4 star because of their talented performers. If you are looking to watch a REAL flamenco show (not like the tourist trap versions), then you must come here. The performers are very passionate as they danced, sang, and played their instrument. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was having a good time while enjoying the show. On the night that I went (Thursday of February), the show began around 10:30 pm, but come early for a closet able up front! Personally, I did not enjoy the "Agua de Sevilla," it tasted slightly like a piña colada with too much alcohol. But I simply just place that aside and enjoyed the show. Definitely come here if you are looking to watch a beautifully performed flamenco show, my friends and I are determined to take a flamenco class now! P.S this show is free to watch! As long as you buy a drink that is ;)

Yelp
Thank you, Rick Steves. If not for your infinite wisdom, our tour group would have ended up going to the first place we saw during our brief stay in Seville. However, your guidance + maps from the helpful concierge led us to this tucked-away establishment in the heart of Seville. To date, this is the tastiest sangria (and at the best value) that I've ever encountered in Spain or abroad. Even leaving that aside, the charmingly rustic interior is designed for an energetic group of twenty-somethings getting to know each other. Not to mention, the nightly live music and flamenco dancing is all the more appealing for its raw authenticity - nothing like the flamboyant, bedazzled 45-euro shows that more than one person tried to have us believe was the "real deal". The fact that I can still remember the name of this place three years later speaks volumes. Make sure to stop by here at some point to make your stay in Seville complete.

Yelp
I was unimpressed with this place. It lacked personal touch and was more dive than a beer/sangria garden. To top it off, the person working at bar was just lame and rude. Typical assembly line atmosphere!!!

Yelp
Watching flamenco here was a highlight of my life. It is such a powerful expression of the strong feminine spirit. Super highly recommended. I mean it's the worst--don't go (don't want TOO many foreigners overtaking it ;). Get a pitcher of the Agua de Sevilla and settle in for an amazing evening.

Yelp
If you come to Seville and DON'T go to LA CARBONERIA you are doing yourself a disservice. The cost to get in - $0 (€0) *. Drinks are cold **. Drinks are inexpensive ***. But.... THE FLAMENCO is some of the best in the world. This place truly presents the traditional four elements of Flamenco, rhythmic clapping, singing, guitar, and dance in perfect, or near perfect form. The singing is superb (I wish I knew the name of the old man that seems to be the godfather to all the others) guitar is scary good. and dancing is breathtakingly beautiful - lines, technique, form, & artistry. All this is presented with an unbridled passion for the art form that is a joy and a wonder to experience. If you are an artist of any sort do not miss La CARBONERIA!! OLE!!!

Yelp
Great authentic and old place with huge bar and many kinds of local beer. Alhambra beer is my favorite. Many wine choices also. Come for a visit of flamenco which is great here. Food is more like snacks, eg manchego, aceitunas, etc. No complete our hot meals

Yelp
This is THE place to go if you want to experience local life. It is not as much a bar or restaurant as it is a "community" type center. Yes, it has a bar and even serves food (I tried a hot dog and it was so bad I couldn't eat it...but that is what I get for ordering a hot dog in Seville.) The drinks were cheap...and good. But, what you are there for is the un-choreographed shows. I was told that they have people go on stage at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30...but I would check the times. The quality depends on who shows up...but it is true local singing and flamenco. This is a must visit place.

Yelp
FREE FLAMENCO!! I cannot stress that enough. I've seen plenty of people coming to Seville and paying tons of money to pay to see a flamenco show. Honestly, the dancers and singers here are just as good and to me, it personally seems more authentic. They only sell tapas, but they're all reasonably priced and as a plus: they have chips and guac Im not sure how their drinks are as my friends and I usually split a bottle of wine, but I see a lot of people drinking sangria as well. Their shows I believe begin at 9:30, last about 30-45 minutes and then they have another at 10:30 and 11:30 as well. I recommend you get here EARLY because it fills up fast. Remember that everything free is perfect. So if you don't get there early, it's likely you for starters, won't get a seat, and if you do it probably won't be a super good one. There's a very limited selection of what I would consider good seats. You can hear the singer everywhere, but it's difficult to see the feet of the dancer if you're far away due to the tables being in the way. Lastly, be quiet when they're performing because first of all it's rude to not and secondly people will absolutely sush you.

Yelp
AN authentic and free flamenco dance and music experience in the heart of Seville! Inexpensive drinks and a warm atmosphere that makes this a great place to visit while in Seville. Bathrooms are not the best and the seats are uncomfortable, but even those make the entire experince more authentic! go figire..

Yelp
After hearing so much about this place, I may have built it up too much. Nice location, and interior. I had the 'agua de seville' which was tasty, based on a friends recommendation. I later had a 'corronita con tequila blanco' which is disappointedly just a corona with a lime and tequila poured into the empty space when you open a tequila. So it overflowed and not pure tequila and not much fitting in there. Lame. But whatever it was 3.5 € Now, the whole point is seeing a flamenco show here. Its free, so hard to complain. But being in town a short amount of time, my time is isn't long. It's the same group from the picture, the big guy, the lady and the guy in guitar. They looked kind of bored up there. Not much enthusiasm or emotion from what they were singing. It's only tourist in there, so I don't think anyone would notice. She danced a bit, and stomped in sync, which was nice. The guy on guitar is definitely good. But overall a bit dull. I went to another flamenco show, also free, and the guy and girl danced and it all had a great intensity and they were young and it looked legit. The girl sang sitting down, cute and with a good voice. I'm here another night with the intention of catching that again, wherever that was...

Yelp
This was our last resort as none of the other places we looked had flamenco, even in the "flamenco district." Our host we stayed with warned us that it was touristy but flamenco was on our bucket list for Spain. The mass of foreigners confirmed that it was not locals frequenting the place. The guitar player did well and seemed like he actually had talent while we were singularly unimpressed with the singer's voice. The dancer looked angry most of the time with the occasional flash of boredom on her face. I've never paid three euros for a glass of ice with a bit of lemonade but it seemed a small price to scratch flamenco off our list. We went elsewhere for dinner; three euro hot dog on the menu was an indicator that this wasn't the place to eat.
