Loved this place. The waitress was very helpful translating things and the boar tacos were the one!! Loved the array of salsas. One was sweet and one was straight lava, but so tasty! I also tried the green chorizo. It was very good but the boar was the best! I'd love to come back and try the mole duck. Definitely check this place out!

Casa de los Tacos is a true hidden gem in the heart of Coyoacán. The star of the show? The “arrachera” tacos — perfectly grilled, juicy, and packed with flavor. They strike the perfect balance between crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making every bite unforgettable. The salsas are bold and varied, the service is fast and friendly, and the place has a local, authentic vibe that makes you feel right at home. If you’re in Coyoacán, this is a must-stop for real taco lovers.

Google
The food is absolutely delicious. Every single dish we tried was excellent, they have tons of options, and the handmade tortillas are great. I still think about the duck tacos I ate there every now and then... The service wasn't great but it wasn't due to the staff. The staff was actually great and managed under difficult circumstances, because the place is constantly full and understaffed. The waiters and waitresses did their very best but the owner needs to hire a few more people for the busy days. The problem with the atmosphere is that they crammed as many tables as they could so you are constantly being elbowed or hit with bags every time someone walks behind you. I would definitely go back for the food, but no way I would ever go on the weekend or holidays.

There are a huge variety of tacos here. We tried the venison, birria, duck and cactus tacos. The stand out for sure were the duck tacos. They were so flavorful and tender and perfectly cooked. We loved it so much, we ordered another round of those. The tacos come with an assortment of salsas and lime wedges as many restaurants do. Their green salsa is great with a perfect spice. We loved the darker red salsa too, it was excellent with the duck. The mango italian soda was delicious and the agua fresca of the day (lemon) was refreshing. We also tried the guacamole and chips which were great as well with a nice squeeze of lime on top.

Google
Nice Mexican restaurant with lots of choice.. The plata Botano was delicious, with guacamole, nopalitos (cactus), quesa panela, chicharron and homemade tortillas. Don’t miss trying the nopalitos! For my main course I chose TacoTerapia (1 de pechito, 1 petunia, 1 de chorizo verde. Fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a fabulous dinner at La Casa de los Tacos! We noticed the taquero carefully creating tacos through the window before we even entered the restaurant. He kneaded the masa to ensure the texture was perfect then pressed the dough into perfect tortillas. He added toppings and created an edible piece of art. We enjoyed a number of dishes including Taco Therapy ( a trio of tacos from different cuts of pork). Don’t let me forget to tell you about the salsas!! Wow!! Each was unique and full of flavor and a healthy bit of heat. The tacos de quesabirria - well, let’s just say I’ll dream about them. So delicious!! The arrachera with cheese enchiladas in mole sauce were outstanding!! We enjoyed the pulques we tried and a tart, sparkly Paloma. Others in the party had horchata, lemonade, and an agua fresca. There really is something for everyone here! Our waitress was friendly and very helpful as we worked our way through the menu. Save room for dessert! The lime pie is outstanding!

Google
So glad we found this place! CDM is a very meat heavy city, and most tacos places don't have any green on the menu. This place offers a great balance of tasty meat and fish options, as well as salads and soups with vegetarian options. They have both traditional tacos and some quirkier alternatives and a selection of insect based dishes that honour older native culinary traditions. Our waitress was lovely and took time to explain different dishes and was very attentive throughout our meal. The atmosphere is traditional and cosy. Of the few things we ordered the highlight for me was the tacos Sirenitas (see photo 😋).

Google
I have been in CDMX for 3 weeks and I believe this restaurant is a perfect balance of bang for your buck, authenticity, and great taste. I love the music + there are some old Aztec dishes with insects if you are feeling crazy! I came here at least once a day for a meal during my 5 day stay in Coyoacán! I loved having an order of vegetarian tacos with whatever else I ordered to add some greens to my diet since this is such a meat heavy city!

Yelp
We finally found a place that lives up to Mexico City's dining reputation!!! Anthony Bourdain would have loved this place. My tastebuds had a party. The service is great, the prices are really reasonable and the food is amazing!

Yelp
This place is incredible. Great service, amazing pricing and some of the best tacos we've had in Mexico City ever. The vegetarian ancho taco was out of this world. It came topped with crispy carmelized onions we'll dream about. The taco sampler was so unique. Green chorizo made me nervous but I'm so glad we tried it! Bonus: it made our day to watch one of the chefs prepare blue corn tortillas as we ate.

Yelp
Overall pretty decent taco spot that certainly had some unique tacos on the menu. The jabalí tacos actually were so tender and juicy - surprisingly good! Tacos come in orders of 2 and are a little larger than street tacos. The salsas offered at La Casa de Los Tacos were delicious super super spicy to be prepared! We also tried the tromp tacos that came with a bunch of meat also super good! The ambience and the service of the restaurant was also fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to try and they have a variety, but for me a bit underwhelming as most tacos are served bare. They are simple and even with the salsa sampler table side the proteins were dry to Me. The best taco were the gobernador as these has shrimp and melted cheese. Platanos were amazing, and so was the mango Fresca.

Yelp
Arrived Tuesday from Dallas, and our way to go see Estadio Azteca we stop at this place. I ordered Cecina de res al carbón con aguacate tacos they were delicioso!!

Yelp
Great food, great prices, and spot on service! Stopped here for lunch before going to Casa Azul!

Yelp
we loved this place! we were already in the area visiting the frida museum/house. everyone that worked here were so so sweet and attentive. i cannot remember our servers name but he was a young guy and was seriously the best. we asked about these flowers they were working on and he explained to us its squash blossoms and asked if we wanted to try it in a quesadilla (as they were making the tortillas right there too) and we said yes. it was the best thing we ate! so delicious and fresh and flavorful. we got a variety of tacos: venison, pork, steak, and the taco therapy plate. everything was super flavorful and good!! definitely come here if youre in the area!

Yelp
This is my first time in Mexico City and my husband and I had our first dinner here. Super cute place with friendly servers. We ordered the guacamole and tortilla chips as an appetizer and I ordered the Tacos Irene: 3 grilled shrimp and fish tacos. My husband ordered the grasshopper and skirt steak tacos. It was all delicious and we were very full. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Coyoacan area in Mexico City. The prices were cheap also. Our whole meal with tip was around 35 USD. They also accept Visa credit card if you do not have cash.
google avatar

Aasawari N.

Yelp
The chile vegetarian stuffed tacos are exceptional. We ordered two of these due to deliciousness. Everything else vegetarian was also tasty. The ambiance was adorable also.

Yelp
I'm overwhelmed writing this review. We ordered SO Many dishes I'm trying to keep track of everything.. ok here we go in no particular order: chilaquiles (one with eggs and one with steak) - flavors were spot on, the tortillas were that perfect in between of soggy and crunchy, the eggs were bountiful and the steak was think and tender. Cricket tacos - the good news is the crickets are battered and fried so you don't even see them. The bad news is they do have a mildly earthy/sour taste - mixed in with all the toppings it wasn't really offputting or even noticeable. But eating one on it's own was less fun. Queso con chorizo - i didn't eat that much of this but i do advise to eat it FAST. Scorpions! - This one is more of a mental challenge than anything else. It literally just tasted like a little leaf fell on your jicama while you were walking under a tree. The scorpion was completely dried out and tasted like absolutely nothing. Just a crunchy little twig. no big deal.
google avatar

Suzanne P.

Yelp
If you go order the Tacos de Irene!! Life changing, so good. Guacamole was also incredible. After you finish here get the churros just a block away.

Gerardo A.

Yelp
Wilted lettuce! Definitely NOT vegan friendly. The sauces lack definition and layers of taste and seasoning.

Yelp
The food was delicious but customers service was a little lazy and cold The ambiance was nice and cozy

Yelp
Second time visiting this place and it's amazing. They're good is great they even have a person making tortillas so they're pretty fresh. I'm adventurous so I had the scorpions but I already had the pre Hispanic tasting. Service is friendly and helpful. This place is prefect for small groups. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
This restaurant is a great option, really close to Jardin Centenario which is at the center of bohemian Coyoacan. The prices are good compared to other restaurants in the area. They have blue corn masa which is not easy to find and they make their own tortillas. This is a good place to try grasshoppers (chapulines), a traditional dish that can be considered gourmet. They also have other prehispanic dishes like escamoles. They have many options to choose from. Not only tacos but traditional dishes like enchiladas, gringas, huaraches, pozole, alambres, etc . We ordered the chapulines and they were well served with guacamole and tortillas. The service is really good, they are usually pretty packed so they know how to handle a full house with fast service and good food. The decoration is nice and simple and even though the place is small they can fit several small tables. A must try if you are in Coyoacan!

Yelp
The salsas are bomb; esp the chipotle one. The birria taco was alright. Didn't care for the taco de res. The agua fresca & limon margarita were good.

Yelp
Definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Coyoacán. I spent 199 pesos (roughly $11-12 USD) on 2 lemonades and 2 entrees. We tried the sopes sencillos and the potato flautas ahogadas. The sopes are delish, even if they were sencillos/ plain. The flautas were really good--crunchy tortilla shell and a really zesty tomatillo and lime salsa. The waiter brings 5 different types of salsas (nearly all pretty spicy) and a few limes for you to add to your liking. The salsas were all unique and spicy; one contained habanero, one contained lime and avocado, another contained peanuts, etc. The restaurant may not be the fanciest, but it's got a lot of character. It definitely has a casual vibe. I like that they allotted a little space in the middle of the restaurant where you can see someone hand-make the tortillas and sopes. Overall, one of the better places I ate at when I visited CDMX. I recommend it because the food is so good and the prices are super affordable.

Yelp
Went with a group of 10+. Everyone absolutely loved their meals. The food was made with the freshest ingredients and were full of flavor. Definitely the best tacos I've ever had in my life. They have menus in English and Spanish which was much appreciated.

Jack S.

Yelp
Great place in coyocan, we love this little restaurant. Just off the park and in the Centro it's easy to get to.
google avatar

Randy H.

Yelp
After embarrassingly falling for a tourist trap in Centro (Cafe de Tacuba), this restaurant was everything I needed. Super friendly staff, English menu available and a stone's throw from the main plaza in Coyoacan. But most importantly, the food was excellent. I highly recommend the enchiladas verdes. They also have a very good craft beer selection.

S M.

Yelp
Average tacos with large menu of selection. The atmosphere was good. Great service and fresh handmade tortillas

Molly J.

Yelp
Our family loved our dinner at last night casa de los tacos. The menu is huge and the prices are decent. We shared several kinds of tacos, guacamole, and a few other things and really enjoyed everything. The serve was also good and the food came out quickly.
google avatar

Fernando R.

Yelp
Very good I felt like it was super authentic and a great place for a trip to Mexico or even a local peoson
google avatar

Gabriela P.

Yelp
Great clean spot for tacos if you are in the area. The menu has a variety of options. I got the tacos de birra which come with a broth type liquid to dunk. They are good but very rich. Lemonades were great! Small space but lots of seats indoor and out. Slow service and not quality staff unfortunately.
google avatar

Guillermo M.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful little place in the heart of Coyoacán. I had the rib huarache and the amaranth water. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
One of my favorite taco spots in MXC! The ambiance is great, the staff is super friendly, and the tacos are absolutely delicious! They also provide 4 absolutely amazing salsas for your tacos that will blow your mind. If you like spice, this is a great place as most of the salsas have a pretty good kick to them. We had the al pastor and steak and they were both awesome. I would highly recommend this spot if you are in Mexico City or specifically Coyoacan.

Yelp
The best tacos I had on a 12 days trip around Mexico inland! I arrived in between meal times and did not have to make reservations, but there were already a few tables with the "reserve" sign on them - I am sure the place is busy on the weekends/evenings. I first had the "Tacoterapia" that came with three tacos: pechita (little pig), petunia (pork belly), and the local sausage meat Chorizo Verde. The tacos were so delicious that even though they were enough food for me I ordered two more: the El Chapulines - finally trying the fried grasshoppers that I have heard so much about! These two tacos were large and full of breaded grasshoppers. While they were interesting to try, they are not quite my thing. Service was great and the sauces had a wide range of heat and flavors. Do not miss this place in Coyoacán!
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
Literally means the House of Tacos and you will find the best tacos in CDMX!!!!!! You will get two amazing tacos for between $2-$3 (U.S.) Must try- Pollo natural (essentially grilled chicken) and the Pescado Frito lightly battered fried fish). Ok but not my fav- Pollos adoboda (if you like mole try them), shrimp tacos (fish was better). The tables have approximately 5 sauces in little bowls for you to try. The green one was excellent- had a kick but not too spicy. The margaritas were wonderful, service was great and there is wifi with the password right on the wall! Bummed we didn't find this place until our last day in CDMX!

Chrissie E.

Yelp
Casual, comfortable and stylish restaurant with friendly service and very thoughtful menu... delicious too!!

Yelp
We found this little gem rated #1 in Yelp After browsing menus around the restaurants in Coyoacán, we decided to give it a whirl. So glad we did! I had the venado tzik & jabalí tacos. Exotic and delish My wife had the taco therapy and was delighted as well. We have to come back before we leave
google avatar

Dara G.

Yelp
Delicious tacos. Fabulous menu. Authentic tacos from different regions of Mexico. Nice small order of chips and guacamole. Tables are small. Staff is friendly. Good beer selection and agua frescas for the season. Don't miss this if visiting the St Juan Baptista cathedral.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I came here for lunch while we were visiting Mexico City for a weekend away. He comes to this city often for business, but this was my first time in the city. Having heard good things about the Coyoacan neighborhood, we decided to come here. There are a ton of restaurants here, all of them rustic and traditional. We chose this one, which is close to the town square. Service was delightful, food was the best we had. Tortillas were freshly made on site. Cost was cheap. We had all kinds of food and drink and paid under $200 pesos. When we're back in the neighborhood again, we'll remember this place and return. As for Coyoacan, I could see moving to this picturesque part of Mexico City and living happily in an apartment or townhouse with my husband, son, and dog.
google avatar

Luara E.

Yelp
Our first night in Mexico City, we went straight to this place and it was the perfect first dinner and introduction to the city and Coyoacán specifically. To start, we ordered the margaritas, mine was a classic frozen marg with lime and tequila and my boyfriends was the same but with mezcal. I enjoyed mine, it didn't taste strongly of tequila which was perfect for my taste. My boyfriends tasted great as well, I felt as though it did the mezcal justice. As starters, we got the Aztec soup (which should be eaten immediately so the tortillas don't get too soggy) and melted cheese with chorizo. Both were incredible (!!!) and decent sizes, they were satisfying but left room for our entrees. We ordered to share the tacoterapia and Birria tacos... so fricken good. Adding all the fixings to the Birria tacos is a must, the tacos were spectacular. The tacoterapia are as stated-- like a therapy session after a long travel day where all you've had is some water, plane food, and random snacks. It's hard to choose which of the three tacos included in the dish were our favorite as they were each so delicious in their own way. Although we are only here for a few days and intend on trying as many different places as possible, this would easily be a repeat meal and visit.

Dean B.

Yelp
We had breakfast here and the food was amazing. The combination included fruit or juice, coffee along with the selection of various authentic Mexican breakfast dishes. Service was quick and the staff is attentive to the customers. We would love to come back!
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
A wonderful menu with everything from the standards to the exotic. Delicious food in a cute casual atmosphere.
google avatar

Lennie R.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this type of place since I arrived. So delicious! Great veggie options!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Best tacos in Mexico City. Ordered the rojo chorizo and the waitress suggested verde and it was the best. Fun to try wild boar and venison tacos among others too. Wanted to try them all but was eating myself to the brink of death the whole trip and couldn't stuff anymore in. Great mezcal margaritas - not too sweet.
google avatar

Caya A.

Yelp
Tacos al carbon are really good. I started with the tacos. After the tacos I had enchiladas de mole con pollo. I ordered a cafe Americano with ice. The coffee wasn't strong yet not bad. The restaurant also brings out an abundance of salsas. Be warned, some are really spicy.
google avatar

Elsa M.

Yelp
The best Mexican meal I ever had.. The sauces totally delicious.. Tacos one of the best in the menu.. Cocktail also delicious.. As I'm from Malaysia and lived in the US.. My Mexican meals are limited with tacos full of cheeses, guacamole n sour cream when the real stuffs so simple but tasty..
google avatar

Shean H.

Yelp
my taco expectations are pretty high, this place almost delivered 5 stars. Good selection of tacos, but they're just missing that certain something.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Best tacos I had in Mexico City. I had a combination of three (chicken, green, pastor) and all were excellent. Typical fast service although the place was crowded.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
Best tacos I have ever had! Hector the owner was very kind and sat with us to talk about the different items on the menu. He is very passionate about what they make and it shows. Must try the verde chorizo. Everything on the menu is excellent, I even tried the cricket and scorpions. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
I love this place and come here every time i return to CDMX. Owner is a great guy, look forward to coming back again soon

Dana H.

Yelp
We came here after visiting the Frida Kahlo museum which is only a brief 10 minute walk past the park. We really just wanted some good, traditional tacos and this place delivered. The charcoal grilled steak tacos with the verde sauce were SOLID. Also their drinks are really good but strong. I had a lot of margaritas and mezacales on my visit to Mexico and theirs was easily the strongest. I kind of had to catch myself as we were leaving the place cause I wasn't expecting to feel so buzzed. Be advised - they don't really speak much English at this place and our Spanish isn't great but we were still able to communicate and understand basic things.
google avatar

Rosa E.

Yelp
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch stop at this small restaurant in the heart of Coyoacán. The tacos de alambre were absolutely delicious! One of the best meals we had in our entire Mexico City trip!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Eduardo's tacos are truly sublime. In 10 years of traveling thru Mexico I haven't eaten better than the Pechita de Res al Horno, carne asada in its finest representation. And the main man and his staff are excellent people.
google avatar

Sophia K.

Yelp
BEST. TACOS. EVER. Cute crowded atmosphere in the heart of Coyoacan, quality food (and cebollitas a la plancha!) and great service. Highly recommend!!!
