Great location but that’s about it. Rooms do NOT look like in the pictures. Room is dark, doesn’t come with a real window and everything in the bathroom looked like it would break if I touch it. Overall, too pricey for what you get. There are plenty of better options around the area.

Great location. Parking across the street. Ricardo was always helpful. Nice sized king bed room w/ AC. Great WiFi. Beds firm and comfortable. Only downside was a slow draining sink and not having a power plug in near the table to charge gadgets.

Centrally located and decent value by Oaxaca's inflated standards. Short walk to the Zocalo with many good restaurants in the area. Standard of cleanliness is shockingly poor, however. The bedsheets were not clean - yellowing, bloodied, dirt marks, and with bugs. They will change your sheets frequently, but this will only replace dirty sheets with other dirty sheets. When told about this, the staff said it's "clean but stained". This is really not an acceptable level of cleanliness, and has been issue for at least a year, judging by prior reviews. Rooms have zero sound insulation, you will hear EVERYTHING, as will anyone outside your room.

Wonderful hotel! The staff are so helpful and friendly. The view on the terrace is beautiful and it's a lovely space to enjoy. The beds are comfortable and clean. And the location is perfect - walkable to everything in the city center. Highly recommend!!!

We stayed at the hotel only 1 night, yet the hotel kept our luggage for 5 days at no extra cost while we were travelling elsewhere. Everybody was willing to help us with the luggage, the rooms was very spacious, clean and extremely quiet at night despite of its central location. La Casa de Maria has also a great patio that seems not to be used a lot by other guests - go to the rooftop and enjoy nice views.

The hotel was easy to find and very clean. All of the staff were very helpful. They held our bags both before check-in and after checkout. The hotel is also very safe with access via a secure door after hours. We stayed in two different rooms and both were nicely furnished and very comfortable with efficient AC units and plenty of hot water. It's within walking distance to many of the major attractions and we walked to San Sebastian collectivio very easily. It was a great stay!

The staff it's very nice and it's very well located, however my experience wasn't the best. The room looks fairy clean but on my first day I found hairs on the wall of the shower, and then there was a lot of hairs on the pillows and bed sheets (remember it was my first night), I asked to be replaced it and when I was back, the hairs wasn't there anymore but the bed sheet was the same one (I knew it because had a blood spot as well), disgusting!! I don't mind if you don't change the bedding every day while I'm there but I do expected you to place clean bed clothes every new guest.

While it’s certainly not a 5 star hotel, I gave it 5 stars because, for its price, it’s great. The location is perfect -a few blocks from Zócalo and the Alcalá. It’s very clean and quiet at night (There’s a lot of construction going on in the day but we were out most of the time.) Beds were comfortable. The nights aren’t very cold in Oaxaca in January, but there are extra blankets just in case. . We had a great room “Amber” which is actually 2 separate bedrooms. Roomy for 2 people. Great for 2 people who aren’t intimately related. Fresh water bottles provided daily. Helpful staff. We never tried the menu so can’t comment on that. But there are plenty of good restos nearby. There’s a safe in the room. My only suggestion to the management is to get new towels. The towels are frayed and look like they were used as rags and then washed out, as there’s old dirt showing on them. Anyway, I highly recommend the place if this is your price point.
