We stayed here for quite a few nights, and really enjoyed our time. When we very arrived early in the morning (before immediately heading out to colca canyon) they were so kind to let us use a room to rest in and refresh ourselves, even though ours wasn't ready yet. They also kept our luggage until we returned!||||The breakfast was standard, the staff were very friendly. Laundry service was very quick! The terrace on the rooftop was awesome with a great view of the mountains. The rooms were generally good, although ours bizarrely had a high window into another room, which meant our room was lit up late one night when our neighbours weren't ready to sleep yet!||||It's well located with a grocery store about 8 minutes away and very close to the center. The kitchen was also quite well equipped! Paco (?) the dog was also very adorable and we really enjoyed his company!

The property is beautiful, spacious and airy. An oasis of calm from the business of the city. Fantastic views from the room terrace of the volcanoes and the city. Amazing value for money. ||The central attractions are easily accessible given the excellent location of the hostel. The property is also incredibly clean - there were fresh towels, shower curtains and soaps every day and fresh sheets. ||But above else the star of the property is the owner, Juan - incredibly friendly, generous with his time and recommendations. ||Juan is also an amazing chef - delicious local dishes (Lomo saltado, bunuelos, chicarrones etc) are prepared for guests at short notice and for incredibly low prices compared to local supermarkets. ||All round a fantastic stay - will certainly return in future!

We spend more than a week here and we must admit that it was a very pleasant stay. The owner helped us with many things and when we came back from Colca Canyon he gave us the biggest room in the hostel for normal price. All rooms and bathrooms are kept super clean. Breakfast very basic but fine. Good value for the price.

We booked a shared room but got upgraded and got our own room with bathroom: that's a good start. The place is charming, calm, clean, welcoming, central (just less than 5 min by foot from Cercado Arequipa), the owner is very kind, friendly and reliable (we had to fix a broken cellphone and he told us were to go: the cellphone is now as good as a new phone!), the room was comfortable, a little cold at night but you can add blankets, the shower has hot water and the breakfast is simple but good. Highly recommend!

I really liked the way this place is set out, one would never guess what lies behind the doors. A welcoming and comfortable stay in spacious rooms, dining area and shared kitchen facilities were great. Also a small private garden with hammock to ease of those weary feet after exploring most of the day.

The hostel is in a good city location. City center nearby. The hostel is like an ancient architectural building with cozy rooms. Staff very helpful. Great breakfast. The information provided by staff has greatly contributed to the city's orangery. We spent a lot of time, we saw a lot.

Never having traveled to Peru we were unprepared for the unavailability of English speakers. However, Juan Carlos the owner of the Casa De Sillar is fully conversant, writes wonderfully and sees it as his mission to assure that visitors to his Casa are well taken care of. The accommodations are comfortable and the showers are warm. The interior is attractive and the building is constructed of sillar which is a type of volcanic rock. You would be in a neighborhood within blocks of the Plaza de Armas. We also had a filling breakfast the next day with some very good coffee too!

Great place to stay in Arequipa. It's close to the historic center and restaurants/bars. The breakfast was great and the room very clean and comfortable. The hosts very helpful and friendly. You can book your tour to Colca Cañon with them.
