I recently visited this charming old café in the heart of Rome, and it was a delightful experience. Despite the constant flow of visitors, the staff is friendly and efficient. The café offers a variety of fresh pastries, but the real highlight, especially on a hot day, is their granita al caffè — perfectly refreshing and full of rich coffee flavor. In addition to the café, there’s also a small shop where you can purchase delicious sweets and high-quality coffee to take home.

Hands down the creamiest, most gentle cappuccino in my life!… It was soooo gentle, no bitter note as usual, the foam extremely soft. The price is just 1,70 if you drink at the bar, and 2,70 if you want a table. We had it at the bar and chatted with the barista. So sad we discovered this place on our last day!

Google
The perfect Roman caffe—the cashier is rude and impatient in that classic Italian way, the baristas are friendly and kind. Get the granita, it’s one of their specialties and is really good. The ambiance of the place feels very midcentury in an authentic way. Plenty of bar space. Sfogliatella was good. The coffee ranks well for Italian coffee, though if you want to buy gifts to bring back I’d go to Sant Eustachio—better standard coffee flavor and better packaging, etc.

Went today, and our guide, Eva, pointed this one out to us. Went there today after the cold day in the Pantheon. Coffee was rich, place was buzzing with people, and it was difficult to get a seat, but we managed to obtain one. Placedoes a lot of different coffees from Colombia and other countries. Excellent place with seating outdoors as well.

Google
Charming old café in the heart of Rome, the kind of place that feels timeless. The staff is friendly, efficient and everything runs smoothly. Their cappuccino is incredibly smooth, creamy, and light. Easily one of the best I’ve had. But the real highlight is the Granita di Caffé con doppia panna. A cold Sicilian coffee dessert layered with soft whipped cream. Rich, refreshing and perfect for hot summer days. Quick tip: if you want to sit, wait for table service as you can’t order at the counter and then grab a seat. Prices are also much cheaper if you enjoy your coffee standing at the bar. Do yourself a favor and stop by while you’re in town.🍧☕️

After a long day roaming around the city, we stopped at this cafe to relax and energize ourselves with a dose of caffeine. We thought we could order at the bar and grab one of the seats outside. However didn’t realize, you can’t order at the bar if you wish to seat! There’s a waiter who will be taking your order from the table. Perhaps an oversight on my part to have not realized that! Speaking of our order, we had a cappuccino while my husband had a chai latte. The texture of the coffee was very rich, creamy and smooth. Tiramisu was average and didn’t taste that great as I expected!

Google
Where is La Marzocco machine for coffee it signs for excellent service. Since is in very city centre is really crowded during the day. Best time is in the morning if you live close.

just do it !

Google
I stopped by after visiting the Pantheon to buy some coffee beans chocolate as gifts for my colleagues. Since it was a Friday evening, the store was quite crowded, and there was a fairly long line at the checkout. However, thanks to the cashier’s efficiency, the line moved quickly. Since it was my last day in Rome, I checked the closing time in advance just to be safe. Luckily, there were still about three hours left before closing, so I had plenty of time to shop. That said, I realized there’s no need to worry too much even if you arrive after hours — there’s a vending machine located just outside the store where you can buy coffee beans chocolate and a few other items even when the store is closed. I found this feature both convenient and quite interesting.

Yelp
Cute but busy shop near the Pantheon. They have coffee that you can tack back home if you like. Staff is very friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Stopped here for an italian breakfast during our Rome trip. You order at the counter, they give you a receipt, and you take this to the service counter to get your order. We drank our coffee and ate our sweets and were quickly on our way. Service was fast and pleasant.

Yelp
Cappuccino was especially delicious here. Very creamy! The service was very quick and the chocolate croissant was decadent! Will come back again!

Yelp
They've won awards for their coffee and it's clear why. Smooth, dark, rich but not burned with a delightful aroma that greets you as you raise your cup and savor every drop. For all the first-timers to this part of the world, don't be shy about getting what your lacklusterly caffeinated soul needs. Head straight up to check the menu and pricing right behind the guy nestled behind the cash register in the back. Order with him, take the slip to a barista down the counter and stand firmly knowing you are about to get one of the best sips of coffee you might ever have. Sure they have the required pastries for a sweet moment or two but remember you're going for the coffee. Forget your half caf cold foam whip extra noise order, go with a basic espresso and I promise you will be delighted, and will return. Bonus pointed unlocked if you catch the tall Richard Branson-esque gent in the bend of the counter who seems to be there daily and, either just arrived or just leaving after a cup or two he may give you a side eye, a sly smile, or a wink because he knowssss. He just knows. And you will, too.

Yelp
Rome for a week and I think this was the most visited place on our trip. Leave the cornetto, take the granita. Or crema. UhhhhhMAZING. Classic decor, feels like a Time Machine. Prompt service, nice balance: you can take your time but the staff certainly doesn't. Piles of panna make that granita EVERYTHING! Enjoy.

Yelp
We stopped here after doing some sight seeing at the Pantheon. Nice coffee shop that also sells coffee, tea, and other coffee lover items. We ordered a cappuccino and and iced americano. The cappuccino seemed reasonably priced at 1.50 euro, however the iced americano was 3.50 for a small. The service was relatively fast- you pay and then they give you an order ticket. You then walk over to the barista and hand them the ticket and they make your order. They have seating room also on a patio area, however there is a sign showing they charge a "sitting fee" if you want table service. Overall our drinks were good and the staff was very nice. It's a little touristy, however being walking distance from the Pantheon I feel that is to be expected.

Yelp
Came here to try as this was 1 of 2 most popular cafes around Pantheon. Like other cafe's you order at the cashier and take your ticket to a barista for them to prepare your drinks and give you the food you ordered. Unsure if it was busy or they were just ignoring me as it took me a while to find a barista who would take my ticket. 1 kept doing his thing, ignoring the bar. Wasn't until I moved to another guy, it somehow got the 1st guy to make the drinks. Had gotten varying fresh croissants w/ espressos, cappuccinos and lattes. Very good flavor, smooth, MAYBE mildly better than their nearby competitor (i like both of them). Mildly weird layout as it zigzags around so it seems cramped in a way. After our drinks and food, I went to buy coffee beans as well as some chocolate covered coffee beans here (but i also did elsewhere too cus both were just so good).

Yelp
Our tour guide for the golf cart tour of Rome (Alex) was showing us the outside of the Pantheon. He mentioned that Tazza d'Oro is a great place for espresso. It was the right time of day (pretty much any time is) so I offered to buy us a round. He was right, excellent quality espresso and a professional staff. Couple of days later, our travels brought us to the same neighborhood and we had it again. This time my wife added a cold coffee and my daughters had frozen lemon drinks. All good! Next time I'm in the shadow of the Pantheon, I'm stopping by Tazza d'Oro!

Yelp
This place was so cute!! It is rather small but they work very fast. I got the maritozzi and fresh orange juice. They were the perfect snack for the heat. It was a little confusing because you have to get in a line to order and then another line to pick up and it wasn't clearly marked. Despite that, we got our food quick. Loved it and wish we would have gotten our own. Don't share one, get your own!

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this coffee shop as we were leaving the Pantheon and I'm glad we did. Take note this review is from an American visiting Rome. It's a typical Italian coffee shop where you order your coffee then you wait at the bar to consume your drink. You can also sit down first if you want table service - but price is more. The ambiance inside I think adds to how good the coffee was for us - standing at the bar facing the baristas making our coffee and then drinking it right there. I felt Italian for a second. They were so good we came back the next day and bought some coffee beans for home. The two days we were there we ordered cappuccino, cafe latte and espresso.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Ambience was charming, as was the waitstaff We spent 2 hours unrushed, enjoying a 3 course meal with wine, and waddled out very satisfied!
google avatar

Joe Z.

Yelp
Probably the best coffee shop in downtown Rome. The price of latte is unbelievable and the taste is so good. I had to bring a few bags of beans home.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited on a Wednesday 11am, got a table asap, no wait. Went to wash room, super clean, although the lock doesnt really lock, but there is just a sink, for washing just hands. Ordered one vegetarian meal, Parkdale, fkn delicious. Wheat toast had butter on it already, fyi. Husband ordered Via del Leone, chicken wrap, husband said great portion and also fkn delicious. We also ordered their house lemonade, refreshing with ice. Just a must when in Florence, they also gave us a sweet post card, thank you.

Yelp
view of the pantheon is minimal, outdoor seating is 2.15 euros per person to see the sliver. Of the pantheon. Coffee is slightly strong, cornetto was tasty
google avatar

Maria F.

Yelp
Walk toward 1:00 with the Pantheon behind you. This is about a min or two stroll across the plaza. You may need to dodge a tour group or two. Walk into the little street but don't go too far in as you'll probably pass the end of the line! Be prepared to wait in line. There is no table service. There are some benches inside and if you're lucky, by the time you get your granita, someone will have finished theirs and you can take a seat! The line moves fast as most everyone is ordering an espresso, slurped in a few gulps. This is an experience. Enjoy!

Yelp
One essential aspect of traveling is to find a great spot to grab coffee in the morning as well as breakfast. We were able to find two places that quickly became our favorite breakfast locations. Cafe Tazza o'rozo was our most frequented breakfast spot. We tried the latte macchiato, cappuccino di soia and a caffè latte di soia. The latte macchiato obviously is mostly milk and has very little caffeine, but it is delicious. If you are battling jet lag and need more of a caffeine punch, I would recommend a Cappuccino or a caffè latte. Italian breakfast typically is a pastry of sorts. We tried a paste assortite which was good. There was a cream filling which made it extra sweet. I would probably advise a regular croissant if you don't like heavily sweet breakfast items. Once you order, you stand at the bar to receive your order. If you aren't in a rush, you can take a seat outside and people watch. We enjoyed their coffee so much that we purchased bags of coffee as gifts for family and friends.

Yelp
So in many cities you can always find a rival. I see some people like Sant' Eustachio Il Caffè and for others it's La Casa del Tazza d'Oro. This place is the winner for me hands down. Rome coffee shops are usually pretty busy and it's all serious business when you are looking for that caffeine fix. This place has it down. Don't be intimidated by the long lines. They are very efficient here in getting people through the cafe. Remember this is not Starbucks and they are not looking to be your friend. They are here to process your order and get you some excellent coffee / pastry quickly for a reasonable price. Just in case you are not familiar you go first to the register to place your order. There is a menu board so be prepared to announce exactly what you want. You will pay and get a ticket that you will take to the bar and hand to a barista who will prepare/gather your items. You then stand at the bar and enjoy. In and out, quick and efficient! There is a limited number of seats if you prefer but be aware the prices posted are HIGHER if you choose to sit, take up space and have your items brought to you. I recommend embracing the culture and stand at the bar like the locals. I also thought this place had the best maritozzi. I don't think it's made in house but I thought theirs what the best. They often have a special posted on paper by the register for a special price for a coffee and maritozzi (under 5 euros) Just remember you are standing to eat and drink. (and that's just fine!)

Yelp
The granita coffee was perfect for the extremely hot afternoon. Had an espresso next morning-delicious
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Alright food, rude service. I'd say you are better off avoiding this tourist trap. Take your money elsewhere.
google avatar

Ina F.

Yelp
Lovely cafe tucked adjacent to the Pantheon. It can get busy because of the tourists coming to see the Pantheon but it's a wonderful spot to take a break, have an espresso and a pastry to get the energy needed for more sightseeing!
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
The avid coffee lover in me marked this location and ensured it was one of the first stops on our Rome adventure. Albeit touristy - do expect a line - this was worth it! We got an espresso and macchiato for 3,90 euros - both delicious! There's a long list of other coffees you can try- albeit some are probably unheard of if you're from the states like us, but it's all part of the experience! This was among our most memorable experiences. I tell all my friends visiting Rome to try!!
google avatar

Anja G.

Yelp
The small patio is a desired spot to people watch while enjoying your authentic Cornetto and Meritozzi morning treats with a espresso or freshly pressed OJ. The staff is working hard and give great service with a smile.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Wow. Thank you for letting me stumble upon this holy grail of coffee grandita amazingness. It was almost a coffee ice cream with whipped cream (and not the fake, filled with air whipped cream that first popped in your head). It was 1000% delicious and perfect for the hot August day. You order then bring your receipt over to the other workers & that's when you get your deliciousness in a cup! You're welcome in advance.
google avatar

Martin G.

Yelp
This was right outside our hotel and we loved it. They had stand up options to drink (one price) or another if you wanted to sit down. Brought coffee home (naturally it never tastes the same, but it's still goooood!).
google avatar

Marlon T.

Yelp
I was hanging around the Pantheon and decided to grab an espresso and an Aperol Spritz before exploring the almost-19-centuries-old church. This cafe had a nice exterior/signage as well as interesting coffee memorabilia inside. Service was great. Beware this joint can get pretty busy, especially the outside seating. People watching and coffee outside a famous landmark is the thing to do, when in Rome!

Philip A.

Yelp
Service and attitude was off the charts rude! Nobody would take care of us so we had to continue to attempt to get their attention. Finally, we do and told to pay first. We ordered ice coffee and ended up with a whipped cream cup of mush. Again, tried to get their attention nicely but they wanted nothing to do with us. When we finally got their attention regarding our iced coffee we were told that's a cold coffee and the guy shrugged his shoulders saying oh well. I guess lesson learned but everywhere else when we asked for an iced coffee throughout Rome we got a great attitude, happy worker, and A COFFEE WITH ICE!!!! These guys were so rude and extremely unwelcoming! We left our "iced coffees" on the table and left.

Yelp
Touristy but inexpensive Quality: 4 Value: 5 Service: 2 Ambience: 2 Tazza d'Oro somehow still charges only one euro for an espresso shot. Their coffee is alright, but not the best; the service sort of sucks (probably because they are overrun by tourists). This is definitely a touristy and well-known place that is close to the Pantheon; there are many other spots with better service.

Chris H.

Yelp
Rude workers. Threw our cups and plates on the counter. Coffee and Pastries were average at best.

David M.

Yelp
We had the cafee Americano and cappuccino with 2 croissants and a puff creme pastry. The coffee and pastries were mid. The location you can't really beat if you're interested in the Pantheon but if you're actually looking for breakfast this will work great but doesn't pack the punch on flavor
google avatar

Mikayla R.

Yelp
At food was DELICIOUS! It was my first time indulging on a maritozzi, and it was one of the best things i ate on my trip! The coffee was a bit strong for my liking, but sweetener helped. The service was quick, baristas were helpful. It was very busy at the time we arrived so we ate at the counter. It was a cool experience.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
WOW, these Italians were not playing when they said this is the BEST coffee shop in town!!! and lucky for us we could see them from our windows and that's how close we were to them!! so best believe we were there every morning getting our coffee on!! Their coffee has a mean punch to it, beware to those who do not drink coffee that caffeine will HIT you if u cannot tolerate it well. For my cousin and I it was just the perfect amount of dose to get us and get our day started for our full day of sightseeing!!! My only regret is not buying some coffee beans to bring back home! The service is super stellar and the men in here are super nice and helpful! and we wished they could accommodate our American big cup request but sadly in Europe the biggest they do does not even come close to our small here. Safe to say I'm a HUGE fan and wish I could have a 10-12 oz of this instead of the lil teaser lol DEF check this spot out yelpers!! better than a starbucks, philz, peets and all that!!! BEST coffee I've had so far!

Adrian G.

Yelp
This excellent little cafe was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Ancient Rome. Enjoyed a double espresso, custard filled Cornetto and a Meritozzi on the sidewalk cafe. What an experience!
google avatar

Yaru Z.

Yelp
I had cappuccino, latte macchiato & chocolate croissant If you're going to Pantheon, this is a perfect stop for a coffee drink.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Such a pippin' place, where people just stop by at the bar, have a coffee and pastry and then head out. There is something special about taking a break to sip coffee from a ceramic cup and enjoying a fluffy crossaint with delicious jam. Typically us Americans will grab coffee to go in a hurry to work, but imagine taking a moment to enjoy yourself, even if it is just 5 minutes. The coffee here is also very inexpensive. I truly wish we had one like this here. We usually grab the cappuccino and a croissant with the jam. Other items are great too- just watch what others order as this place is always crowded. Great place for a date too! You can take a walk to grab coffee and chat (keep in mind there is no seating and you mostly are standing at a bar). Then you can take a walk to the Pantheon or down any streets to take a romantic stroll. Man I love Rome!
google avatar

Brenda D.

Yelp
This coffee shop really makes you feel like you're in old Italy. Despite its location you won't find the typical tourists crowds from overseas in here pushing and shoving to use a restroom... I pray that our reviews don't draw them in and ruin the vibe they have going here. Authentic delicious Italian coffee made by authentic Italians (and yes, they were gorgeous lol). The service was top notch and prices decent, so if you're looking for a small break amongst the crowds of the pantheon stop here. You will NOT be sorry!
google avatar

Sze Ting L.

Yelp
Heard this place is how Starbucks came to originate, so naturally had to go try their ice coffee. We ordered an ice coffee which is their "granita con panna". However, what we got was essentially a two scoops of coffee slushie with way too much whipped cream -- more than fifty percent of the cup. Could barely taste the coffee as every scoop was just a mouthful of cream.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
When in Rome... you have to do a lot of things. But the MOST IMPORTANT of all of them is to try the "granita di caffe con panna" at La Casa del Tazza D'Oro!! If you love coffee AND you have even the slightest bit of a sweet tooth, then just order it! Don't think about, don't second guess it, just order it! The only way to describe this treat is what it would be like if you were able to experience heaven on earth. That's what the granita di caffe com panna tastes like. As for La Casa Del Tazza D'Oro, it's just a chill and laid back little place located around the corner from the Pantheon. The one guy working in the front/lounge area will answer all your questions... and he will tell you to sit down, relax, and pay later. You tell him what you want (remember, you want the granita...) and then he goes in back and disappears for a while... and when he reappears, all of your coffee dreams will come true! *****FIVE STARS*****

Yelp
You Order first then bring receipt to barista behind bar counters that wrap through the building. This place is busy! But the cashier and baristas work fast and get everyone their drinks. We ordered: Cappuccino Granita con Pa Cappuccino is basic and nothing too special Granita is what people come here for and it didn't disappoint. Very refreshing and eating it with the whipped cream is a perfect combination Employees speak great English and there's coffee beans and ground all over for you to bring a taste home. They even have a vending machine on the side of the building
google avatar

Andi O.

Yelp
Excellent coffee spot! Came by here several times while visiting Rome. Highly recommend. Staff also very friendly. Our barista was very talented, see photos of my cappuccino :) Enjoy!
google avatar

Antonio A.

Yelp
High paced, loud, busy, however this has been some of the best coffee I've ever had. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
If you LOVE coffee this is THE SPOT in Rome! I had to order 2 cappuccinos because it was that amazing! Must try it out without a doubt along with the great pastries! All the others are good too but this one definitely is top on my list.
google avatar

MacKenzie K.

Yelp
Our hotel was really close to this cafe so we decided to check it out and ended up coming here every morning because it was so good and quick. We got cappuccinos and croissants of course. FYI, outdoor seating is different as a server comes to you rather than indoor where you go to the cashier. The first day we ate in door standing at the counter and the second day we decided to eat outdoor. I recommend eating outdoor because you get a view of the pantheon!
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries! Had the Maritozzi and cannoli which were amazing! The coffee/cappuccino was the best we had in Rome so far.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
First time in Rome, friend recommended this place for a to die for coffee and it didn't disappoint BUT the service was horrible, I understand the stress of getting customers who can't seem to endlessly fail to follow the " procedures" of ordering and speaking Italian but with Italy opening up again after all the lockdowns, I mean a little gesture of compassion and welcome is at LEAST hoped for and not hearing The foul word " ST_PIDO!!" Being hurled at you--an honest paying customer. While cappuccino is good, I'd rather spend my dollars or in this case Euros somewhere else.
google avatar

Yuli L.

Yelp
We came here for the Pantheon and found this place by chance. At first we were puzzled why there're such a long line, after yelping we realized it's one of three very popular caffe in Rome! The line was long, but it move quickly. All staffs were extremely busy, but cheerful and efficient. We gave our order/pay by the end of the shop, then submitted our recipe to the caffe makers in the front. When my friend showed the ordering staffs the picture of Granita al caffe (to order), he took her phone and took a selfie with us and said "ok, the cost will be two Granita al caffe and one selfie". Lol! The Granita al caffe was concentrated coffee slushy sandwiches by whipped cream. The bottom cream became kinda ice-cream-like, so you get 3 different textures in one little cup. I sampled each layers before mixing them all together. I like the richness of the whip cream, and the tanginess of the coffee slushy. When mixed together, it tasted smooth and delicious! Afterward we went to the very back to purchase some coffee beans. The female staff was packing fresh beans into bags then to the counters. We felt good knowing every bags were fresh to go. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend it! Just know you MIGHT have a caffeine high afterward
google avatar

Jiaxin G.

Yelp
I didn't try the coffee because I already drank coffee for the day. I came here to get the famous chocolate covered coffee bean. The location is pretty easy to find once you get to the Pantheon. It's to the left of the Parthenon if you are facing the Pantheon. And Venchi the gelato store is right across from this coffee store. There was a fairly long line waiting for the cashier but it moved rather quickly. I got the big box which included 20 small boxes inside. It's €34. The coffee bean is pretty bitter inside so it might not taste good for Asian parents (a.k.a my mom haha).
google avatar

Soroosh A.

Yelp
Loved their cappuccino. Great coffee. I feel like you can't go wrong. Their menu seems to be all great. Great spot to pick up and then check out the Pantheon. Will come back here and get more coffee.
google avatar

Fiona S.

Yelp
I've been to Rome about 3 times and every time Tazza is my go-to coffee and pastries place. Their cappuccino is fragrant and the perfect blend, not to mention the croissants are super fresh and the right amount of soft and crisp. I always get the croissant with apricot jam. The sweetness compliments the bitterness of the cappuccino very well. For those traveling to Italy for the first time, Tazza is a coffee bar. That means there are no tables to sit down at. The locals come drink their coffee at the bar and leave. At most cafes there is also the option to get to-go and sit down. Both of these cost more than bar price; I think it's because Italy is environmentally-conscious, so they're charging you for the cups. At Tazza and most other places, you need to order first before the baristos serve you. Cappuccino plus croissant usually comes out to be about €3, which is typical for coffee bars. Places that charge more are generally tourist traps, in my opinion. The baristos also dress very professionally in cute suspenders and bow tie. One of my favorite things to do is walk to Tazza early in the morning and take a stroll around the Pantheon after coffee and pastries. Sometimes, the simplest things bring the most joy.

Yelp
This coffee shop was by my hotel Albergo abruzzi. I could smell the coffee aroma and always saw a line out the door. Naturally a coffee lover like myself I had to try it. I stood in the line and it went pretty quickly. I wanted a bag to bring home. They have a lot of options for take home espresso. The ones on the wall seem to be their staple and then they had someone off to the side to give you made to order. I asked the difference between the ones on the wall and the ones they pack on demand. He stated that the ones on demand are their signature. I got a bag. It was only 6 euros for the regular size. The bag had a delicious aroma in my suitcase that still lasts. When I got home I made my own espresso, and I thought I was back in Rome again. I also ordered an espresso in the store. It was very delicious and did not need sugar. I can see why there is a line out the door. I noticed on the side of the shop they have a vending machine for the coffee. I thought that was very interesting. I did not try it through there but a tip if you do not want to wait!
