We booked a room for £150 a night based on the photos. Clearly the rooms on the lower floors are great as there are good reviews, but unfortunately I had not read the low star reviews. We were unlucky to be allocated Room 12 (which I now see other people have complained about). The 59 steps to get to it were mostly a problem because of our case. When we left we carried our luggage downstairs in bags and packed the case in the lobby! I knew there was not a lift but did not expect 59 steps! But the biggest disappointment and shock was that the window was not a normal clear window. It was so thickly glazed you could not see out at all. I would never have booked a room where you could not see out of a window, and certainly not for £150 a night. The photos on Booking.com are completely misleading. The receptionist who had been friendly at first but was then unsympathetic, eventually offered us a very small room on a lower floor, but we decided to keep the dark one as it was more spacious. To get some natural light into the room we opened the window, but did not feel comfortable as there was an open window directly opposite so anyone there could see straight into ours. Fantastic location, tasty breakfast, nice bathroom, staff were mostly friendly, but I would never stay there again because of the lack of a normal window. It would not have mattered so much had we been warned about it, and made the booking based on this knowledge.

This is a real gem of a hotel, providing an authentic Spanish experience and wonderful hospitality from the staff. Every staff member went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and kind. The location was perfect for exploring Seville, the room was super clean and the breakfast tasty and plentiful. We stayed five nights and loved every moment of it.

Central location. Hotel impacably clean, small but fantastic. Air-conditioning very good in room and common areas. It has a nice terrace to engoy the evening with a drink. What I liked mainly is the friendly staff that were very helpful and accommodating. They assisted us with all our needs through the stay. We stayed 4 nights. We'll done to ALL the staff. Thanks.

Disappointing room with no window that you could look out of. I knew there was no lift but would have liked to be warned that it was 59 steps to get to our room number 12. Also, had we been warned the room did not have a normal window I would not have boomed it. And certainly not for £150 a night was very expensive for what we got. Clearly rooms on the lower floors are better. Shame I did not see the other poor reviews of the upper room before I booked. |The only way to get natural light into our room was to open the window, but directly opposite was an open window so we did not feel private, and it was also cold to have the window open.|I suggest you check which room you are getting unless you don't mind no window and lots of steps. When we left, we carried our luggage downstairs in lots of bags and packed the suitcase on the floor of the lobby!|Great location, tasty breakfast, nice bathroom.|I would not go there again.

We stayed in this hotel for one night on our way to a wedding in Jerez. It is in a quiet street, away from heavy traffic. We are not young but were allocated a room on the top floor, up several flights of stone stairs – there is no elevator (lift). After several treks up and down the stairs, we asked for a more easily accessible room and were eventually allocated a room on the ground floor. The staff were very helpful in this matter but they had to argue our case by phone with the manageress. Access to the rooms and the luggage room is by app on your mobile phone. This proved to be a problem as we had to collect a relation from a late flight into Seville Airport and, when we got back to the hotel, the app would not open her room. After a long phone call to the night manager in another hotel, the room door was opened remotely. || Breakfast was extra and was served in a room cluttered with artefacts, at a tiny round table whist sitting on wicker armchairs. The furniture was mismatched and the table was too small to accommodate three diners. || La Casa del Maestro is part of a chain named pQliar and flaunts its peculiarity. Nothing wrong with this but rooms on the top floor are suitable only for those who like stepping exercises.

This hotel is just great! Very nice staff with real hospitality. The building itself is a little jewel, with a beautiful patio. Very good beds and a great breakfast. The location is perfect for a visit to the old part of Sevilla. We will surely come back someday!

We booked for three nights at La Casa del Maestro. Really enjoyed our stay. A special mention to Enriqueta Rosa who gave us such a great welcome when we arrived. |The hotel is in a beautiful old house located near to the Metropol Parasol ('the mushrooms'). We had a lovely room with It was spotlessly clean - a very comfortable bed - very quiet (overlooking an internal patio) and air conditioning. Being an old house there is no lift. There was a great breakfast although there were not enough tables for all the guests so sometimes people had to wait for a table to become free. ||We had a really fab dinner at Braxas - very close to hotel on Calle Almirante Apodaca. Our favourite place that we visited was Palacio de las Duenas (family home of the Duke of Alba) which is close to the hotel. We loved walking around the Parque Maria Louisa.

What a wonderful find in a perfect location in Seville! Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. Tina, the manager was very accommodating. She arranged the best Flamenco show, and had several suggestions for tapas and dinner - all were outstanding! Enrichetta, was absolutely amazing! She kept out room spotless, and prepared fantastic breakfasts - thank you! The location was perfect with walking distance to the river and restaurants and shops. Thanks to all at this gem of a boutique hotel for making our stay absolutely perfect in every way!

Yelp
This was an amazing hotel that we were lucky enought to stumble upon while on our honeymoon in Spain. The room was so beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. it was a spacious room that had a seating area with a big fluffy red couch and a balcony. The design of the room was extremely classy, the walls were a deep red and the drapes were a nice beige/sheer. The bathroom was nice and came with very nice shampoo, soap etc. I loved that they had free breakfast in the morning, it was yummy and they had friendly people making delicious coffee. The rooftop had amazing views and has a classy European personality. The manager was very helpful and spoke English very well, he gave us some great suggestions on places to see and things to do. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the fact that Wi-Fi is unreliable. We couldn't get a signal from the room, and even from the lobby it cut in and out constantly. Luckily, the host allowed us access at their other location around the corner, that location had great signal.
