La Casa Grande, Arcos de La Frontera, Southern Spain - Explore & Book

"This is an ancient town that balances impossibly on the crest of a high hill; one side is a sheer cliff. You get narrow streets, ancient alleyways and rather good views. La Casa Grande is right at the top of it all; open your window and there it is - half of Andalucia laid out before you. You potter up to the top of the hill, park the car in front of the church, then wander along a cobbled alleyway past the 16th-century convent of Mercedarian Nuns and arrive at the house. The street is named after the family that built this house in 1729 and you can see their crest carved into the stone pediment above the front door. Inside you find a quintessentially Andalucian home: a central courtyard with an ancient well, a roof terrace where you breakfast with 20-mile views, and a clutch of delightful rooms, most of which look the right way. Tapas suppers on the roof let you make the most of that extraordinary view. Wonderful Arcos is on your doorstep, Jerez is just down the road and the beautiful mountain trails and Pueblos Blancos of the Grazalema Park are just a shake away. Don’t miss it. Highs A majestic position at the top of a cliff with views that stretch for miles Simply-furnished, stylish rooms, that offer fantastic value for money We fell in love with the old town of Arcos - narrow lanes, labyrinthine alleyways, ancient bricks and mortar A cultured and multilingual hostess who will help unlock the secrets of this beguiling hilltop town Lows There's no parking at the hotel and it could be a fair walk from where you leave your car You'll only find WiFi in the communal areas - this is your chance to disconnect! Breakfast is the only meal served, but there's a great choice of restaurants nearby Driving through the narrow and labyrinthine streets of the old town of Arcos can be quite hair-raising" - Tom Bell

I never review, but I'm so disappointed and sad. We used to go to La Casa Grande twice a month. They HAD amazing food, the best ever, our favorite place to go. Then they closed and only did take out, so we found other places to go to dinner. I was just in the area today, so I ordered take out for my husband and me, and it was NOTHING like it used to be, but not just that, it was AWFUL. Chips tasted like fishy popcorn. The queso was bad, like outdated. Fajitas were not fajitas, No authenticity. No guacamole anymore. Rice was not rice. Maybe someday they will reopen, but if they serve what they are serving now, don't bother. I hate to leave this review :(

This is the third time ordering from here and this is the worst food ever I don’t know why I keep giving them chances! The food arrived cold my double hamburger is supposed to be on a brioche bun it’s clearly on a $.99 Aldi bun. You can’t even pick it up. It’s just falling apart. It looks like the entire burger was dropped on the floor , stepped on and then put back together. The fries are soggy. My daughter absolutely loves french fries that is her favorite food she did not eat one of hers ! For three meals it cost me $62 absolutely absurd. I just worked a 16 hour day & did not feel like cooking but now I see I should have.! In the past, I have ordered Mexican dishes, which were as well cold, soggy, and the furthest thing from authentic Mexican food hence the reason we switched up to American Food in a ditch effort to hopefully get an edible meal ! China House needs to start opening on Mondays so we don’t have to resort ordering from here or Tilleys ! I will never order from here again!!

Chips were stale and honestly everything else just sucked. They're food definitely went downhill. Do yourself a favor and go to El Jardin in Janesville instead! They are a million times better!!

Delivery meal. First, I requested a steak fajita meal. I was told it didn't come as a dinner but could get the ala carte fajita with the sides. Then I requested two chimichanga dinners. Their online menu listed their dinners came with 2 chimichangas, with refried beans or Spanish rice, or both. I requested both for each dinner. We expected to receive 4 total chimis with the sides and only received two. When we called to complain, we were then told they don't do the dinners listed in their online menu. I presume they interpreted my request for two chimi dinners as two chimis. An update to their online menu is needed.

The worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. Everything was cold. I'm shocked I didn't break a tooth off from the rice. Had to use a steak knife to cut a burrito!?!? Horrible experience

This place used to be good before covid. Since then, it has gone downhill. Gordon Ramsay would be ashamed if he tried this

I always loved their tacos and enchiladas. It used to be $11.99 for a taco or enchilada dinner, which came with 3 tacos or enchiladas, rice/refried beans. Now, they no longer have an actual 'dinner' option. You have to add the number of tacos you want, which are $4 each and add your rice and refried beans as a side, which is $2.50 each. So, now if you want a dinner that used to cost $12, will now effectively cost you $17 for everything you got before in the dinner. I'm not paying that price, just go to a food truck or Taco Bell for less than that and probably more food.

I will totally recommend this place I'm not a pizza lover but this pizza is the best in town I travel a lot and try so many different pizzas 🍕 but this one just kills it 😋😋 also the 🍔 burgers are great and the chicken wings are tasty 🤤 I might order some later tonight after my soccer game.
