La Casa sul Mare B&B

Great place to stay the night before our cruise. We had been traveling close to 36 hours and the hospitality we received was second to none. Great room, great and very friendly service. Nice personal homely touch, very far from home. The best part was meeting other travellers and sharing stories over a very generous breakfast provided by the hosts. Highly recommend.

If you are looking for the absolute best place to stay before or after a cruise this is it! Fantastic location and their ocean view room is great! Loris and Ambra treated us like royalty! Great food for breakfast and really good recommendations for lunch and dinner on the town. Very highly recommend!

We needed a last minute room due to a transit strike in Rome. We were very fortunate to get the last room due to a cancellation. Staying at La Casa Sul Mare was one of my best travel experiences!||Loris was so helpful and he arranged private transport from the airport when others told us we needed to reserve it months in advance. Ambra was also very friendly and they both provided lots of local sightseeing and dining suggestions. The pistachio cake (made by Rita - Loris' mother) was delicious!||Everything was very clean, comfortable with a beautiful sea view from the balcony. The location was close to everything. We would love to come back and stay longer!

The location is absolutely Devine! The room we stayed in was ocean front with a gorgeous veranda ocean view. Now let me talk about the service!!! We travel a lot and the service here was top notch! They truly wanted us to enjoy ourselves and not worry about anything. Fresh fruit, snacks, baked goods and lattes/cappuccinos made to order. This experience has been one of our favorites. Thank you Loris and Amber for showing us kindness and true service culture. 10000000% recommend!

Having never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before we were a little concerned but having read the previous reviews we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did!! Loris and Amber treated us like family from the minute we arrived. Our balcony room was spotless with a great view of the harbor. Breakfast and snacks were so good and convenient. We recuperated there after long flights and in anticipation of our 11-day cruise booked for the next day. Loris made sure we had transportation to the cruise pier which is only a short distance away. Civitavecchia is a great city and we would love to visit again. If we do, we will certainly be staying at La Casa Sul Mare! Thank you Loris and Amber.

Our review only reiterates the fantastic experience that everyone has at La Casa Sul Mare - but we’d be remiss if we didn’t express our appreciation to Loris and Ambre for their hospitality and making our first day in Italy super exceptional. You guys made us feel at home and have a great B&B located in a great spot, near the train and the cruise ship!! My husband & I stayed at La Casa Sul Mare in September, 2025. The location was central to many attractions. While we didn’t get to partake in breakfast (early flight) it certainly looked to be a delicious experience. Lorris & Ambra were warm & friendly & truly made us feel welcome. We truly ADORED Loris, Ambra, and our authentic, romantic, Italian evening! ||This was our very best B & B experience ever, with the warmest of owners and staff! Ambra was extremely helpful, and Loris was incredibly humble and welcoming! ||We received insightful and detailed pre-visit communication. They were always quick to respond to our inquiries, and arranged all of our transportation needs for our entire visit. ||Upon arrival, we were surprised with charcuterie and prosecco on the balcony for our Anniversary! Our room was spotless and we had a gorgeous ocean view! This is a very beautiful, romantic and peaceful place!!!||Breakfast was fresh Italian coffee, juices, and pastries, granola, boiled eggs, and fruits! There were additional delicious offerings as well! Ambra delivered our coffee and breakfast to our balcony! The Italian coffee was awesome!||The common room was open 24/7 and fully stocked with delicious drinks, and fresh Italian goodies! An honor bar was available with more lively spirits!||We walked on the beach across the street and found many wonderful restaurants and bars close by! ||Loris and Ambra were truly-truly some of the finest hosts we have ever had, and we are world travelers so this says a lot! ||We highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast to everyone! Go meet Loris… he’s truly wonderful!!! ||We cannot wait to return!

La Casa sul Mare is an absolute gem! We booked 1 night prior to our cruise through Hotels.com. I cannot say enough great things about our stay and the hosts. Loris the owner and Ambra the hostess are both amazing. So personable, friendly and helpful. Loris communicated through the app prior to arrival and arranged a car from the airport as well as transportation to the cruise port. They also gave us great restaurant recommendations and local attractions to see. Our room and private bath were spotless. Our room had a lovely balcony with sea view. We ate breakfast on the balcony! There is a nice common room with coffee, tea, filtered water and snacks. Walking distance to many great cafes and restaurants. I cant recommend this enough, and we would stay again. Other note, located on 3rd floor of a building with offices, other B&B and apartments. Elevator available. Secure entry, comfy bed, AC

Very clean yet convenient place to stay before our cruise. Wifey booked via Expedia & saw only one review here on Yelp. In reality most European countries don't really Yelp. We found our stay close to our cruise port but yet better we used a private car to get there bc of all our luggage. This place assisted us in getting a driver prior. Loris was very accommodating. In fact when you book prior and need assistance to get to their bed & breakfast place they will communicate promptly via online through Expedia site. Although it took a while to find our driver at the airport she got us safely to this B & B in record time. There were places to eat nearby even a McDonalds too! We walked a bit around but not too far. Jet lagged unfortunately! Our suite consisted of the double bed, balcony, small private en-suite bathroom, closet space, safe & stands for our luggage. We were provided with water & coffee. They also had fruit, croissants & yogurt for breakfast. If you take a soda from their fridge it does cost you though. So be sure to pay Loris in euros. Our checkout time was pretty early like at 1030 we hung around bc it was too early to check in at the cruise ship. They held our luggage until we came back around 1230 so we could be taxied over to our ship. That port is very commercialized & not too safe for people walking around. Best to be shuttled as we couldn't even see our ship from the bed & breakfast place where we could get some awesome views.

I could not say enough great things about this b&b. We stayed here for one night in the Ponza room before our cruise. The room and bathroom were clean, the balcony was amazing and it is in a great location. There are plenty of restaurants and the train station within walking distance. The common area includes a kitchen where there is always snacks and drinks for free or purchase. The hospitality was truly incredible and I would 100% recommend La Casa Sul Mare to anyone staying in the area.

I can't say enough nice things about this charming B & B! The room and private bathroom were clean and comfortable, the hosts incredibly friendly, gracious and helpful (they went above and beyond, visiting 3 bakeries to provide me with a croissant I could eat with my dietary restrictions, so greatly appreciated!) and the location was perfect, with easy access to everything nearby. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing ! From the moment we arrived Loris ran down to help us with our bags and was incredibly friendly. The service is outstanding ! They got breakfast ready for us and brought it to our room. I 10000000% recommend staying here. The views are incredible and so are the people !

If you are looking for something close and personal this is the place. The owner Loris and his mother keep this place exceptionally clean. He greeted me at my taxi and swiftly had my stuff to my room. He walked me through all the amenities that they have to offer from hot sparkling water on tap to beer and wine selection that would rival some pubs. This place is pretty awsome
