Very good food. Very nicely decorated restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious and hot. We are in New Brighton Minnesota looking for a good Mexican restaurant and found one!! Very clean restaurant. Plenty of parking. I highly recommend this establishment. It is family friendly. Clean restrooms a plus. Come and bring your family and children. This is as close to Texas mexican food as your going to get. It did not disappoint the very picky eater (me). God bless 🙏

I recently dined at La Casita and had a pleasant experience overall. The food was good, fresh ingredients, nicely presented, and satisfying. What really stood out, though, was the excellent service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcome from start to finish. That said, while the dishes were enjoyable, the flavors didn’t quite reflect the bold, authentic taste typically associated with traditional Mexican cuisine. It felt more like a fusion or Americanized version, which might appeal to some, but those looking for a truly authentic Mexican food experience might find it lacking in depth and spice. Still, it’s a great spot for a relaxed meal and outstanding hospitality. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

This is my favorite restaurant to celebrate my birthday 🎂 every year for many years now. So beautiful and spacious and welcoming.

Came here after a recovery with one of my agents and boy did we get great service! The waiter we had was such an awesome guy- haven’t been here in years and I’ll definitely be back JUST because of him (and that AMAZING sweet corn thingie that goes with the tacos- yummmmmm!!!!) he is a gem! Give him a raise!!!! Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

I've been going to La Casita for 30 years. The layout has always been pretty similar but they keep updating. It's always been a good place for a great burrito. And they make a very nice Cadillac Margarita.

Best Mexican food in the Northern metro! Their sauces are chili based, not tomato based and are so flavorful! Tasty rice and beans. Large portions. Don't forget to try the fried ice cream! Yum!!!

I got the chicken burrito bowl with cilantro lime rice and it was phenomenal! My partner also really enjoyed his burrito. Will definitely come back. We just happened upon it because we were driving down Central looking for somewhere to eat and had been unable to get over in time for a couple of other places we wanted to try. Very serendipitous.

One of the 4 locations of La Casita-this one is on Central Avenue in Columbia Heights. Casual dining and drinking. Free chips & salsa will get to your table faster than water or a beer or a margarita!. We come here a lot because they have good service & the food is delivered quickly.

This was our second visit to La Casita Mexican Restaurant and we were not disappointed! Parking was a breeze in their parking lot. First and foremost, the service was outstanding! We were very impressed not just by our server, but also by the bussers and management, who stopped by our table. The complimentary chips and salsa were flowing! The chips were nice and warm and fresh. My husband didn't love the salsa, but my daughter and I did. We also ordered the queso blanco, which was delicious! Our incredible server brought us several rounds of salsa (without judgement!!)! My husband and I started with house strawberry margaritas and were very happy to see that they were made with FRESH strawberry purée and not crappy syrup! They were also strong, so we each ordered only one. Delicious! I ordered the chicken poblano tacos and my husband ordered a combo plate with soft shell tacos and a bean burrito. Both were so good that we scarfed them down before I remembered to take a photo! We finished our meal with the chocolate volcano cake. The cake was delicious, but we didn't care for the cinnamon ice cream. Definitely would have preferred vanilla, but it was still tasty. This will be our New Mexican restaurant for sure!

I love their ground beef chimichanga. Every experience here has been awesome. Tonight Courtney did an awesome job. She's efficient, personable and fun to be a guest of. Yes, I highly recommend LaCasita.

Husband ordered Al Pastor and I had Taco Poblano. Both included refried beans and rice. The food is NOT authentic Mexican by any means. Uncooked flour tortillas, the chicken was cubed, and the refried beans tasted like they came from. A can. The takeout order comes in a plastic div8der plate. And had the nerve to o my have one chicken Taco! When I called manager, he only took off the missing Taco! NEVER Again. Next time, I'll choose Taco bell!​​​

I've eaten here several times in the last few months and I've always had a great experience!

The food is really good but the service is really slow on the weekends. Be prepared for that based on the day you plan to go. We waited for 20 min to get water and napkins even though we asked for them as soon as we got a table. Btw, we are vegetarians. We ordered veg nachos, veg fajita, veg burrito.

Love this place. Great salsa and fair portions. Food is delicious for the majority of the menu.

I've been coming here for over 20 yrs. Food has always been fantastic. Service fantastic..The restaurant is always very clean.. There are 2 bartenders in this location that are good bartenders they are Jason and Tamera . The rest are crap Margaritas are of course at the drink to have in this restaurant. I was in here last Tuesday the bartender was a Latino girl kind of chunky she needs to go back to school the margarita I didn't even finish it was so crappy.. either Jason or Tamera need to retrain the rest. The four stars I'm giving is for the food part and the service the bartending zero

Worst food ever.. they brought out chips and salsa the chips were good but the salsa has no flavor and is just straight tomato paste from the can. the tortillas are store bought and so nasty I'm so upset that I wasted money at this place

Love this place. Good food, good margaritas, Modelo Negra (bottles, not tap). The combination platters are good and big enough to share. Flautas were a hit with us. Friendly service each time we've been in.

This is one of my staple Mexican restaurants in my book. The food service and atmosphere are all great. The portions are huge as well.

I was encouraged by friends to give this Mexican restaurant a try; I did, twice in less than a week. My first trip I had a chicken chimichanga smothered in queso blano. The second trip I had the ground beef enchiladas with queso blanco. Other than the service and quality of food, the one thought that crossed my mind was how this restaurant reminded me of the old Chi Chis or Carlos OKellys restaurants . The food? Excellent for Americanized Mexican food. I'd almost say the ground beef enchiladas were just a step up from the chicken chimi because of the spice level. The gound beef and extremely mild heat but it seemed more flavorful. The accompanying Mexican rice and refried beans weren't bland but added an extra layer of tastes to the main dish. The service? Impeccible. I have no complaints whatsoever. I definitely will return again!

This is the first time I've had a terrible experience here and it pains me to leave a bad review. I typically only leave a one star review when the food and service are bad and that's exactly what happened. Messed up my order and after getting my fajitas, the onions and peppers were raw, chicken and steak was thrown together last minute, and the manager never said sorry. Just horrible

Wasn't quite sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews, but I have to say I was not disappointed. One of the best taco salads I have ever had. The shell was nice and crisp and not dripping in grease, the lettuce mixture had pico de gallo mixed in and the steak on top was grilled and seasoned exactly how I like it. Really good! My husband had a big burrito which he said was equally good. They had a kids cheeseburger and fries which looked okay, too. Really satisfied with the taco salad. Place was very busy and had at least a 35 min wait on a Wednesday night, so their food must be okay..

Let's taco about how delicious La Casita is. We discovered this spot on a date last weekend in Columbia Heights, and we were seriously impressed with their margaritas and tacos. My favorite dish is the Baja Tacos with soft corn tortillas, grilled steak, onions, jalapeños, bacon, pico de gallo and fresh chopped cilantro. It comes with an avocado sauce on the side that gives it a kick (recommend for spicy lovers!).

This building is beautiful both on the outside and the inside. I love seeing the old school looking Mexican restaurants these days, they are few and far between! Our waitress was very friendly but everything took a long time including chips and drinks. The food was pretty solid, but nothing special. There were a couple different salsas, and they were both fun to try and pretty tasty.

The food was not 'simply delicious' as stated on their website. My burrito was super salty and basically bad. My wife's tostados were made from what appeared to be canned chicken. Yes, it looked and tasted like canned chicken from costco. She never complains about food but this time she did. Our server never once asked how was the food. I thought the servings were small. Not ever coming back

Okay, this is a very odd thing to post, but oddly satisfying..they seriously have the cleanest utensils! Much appreciated La Casita! Oh and the food and margaritas? Say no more... just go try!

Arrived Thursday 4pm for an early dinner. 2 people at bar and 1 table of 8. Waited over 5 minutes at the bar which seemed long with the place 95% empty. Ordered 2 takeout meals. Taco salad with ground beef and queso chimi. The taco salad had chicken or pork. The chimi showed no sign of being deep fried as the menu said. I don't see this restaurant surviving much longer with both food and service at their current levels of quality.

Food is always good, drinks are great, and parking is never an issue. They aren't far off of the interstate so easy to find, and they have good happy hour specials. Great place to go with family or friends, staff seem to be pretty friendly, and managers seem to care about the customers also. Food isn't bad and the menu isn't too cluttered, servers are very friendly and helpful.

Been there numerous times. Love the El Grande Burrito as well as the spicy mango tacos! Very good. I love their Bloody Mary's as well, we've always had good service.

this place is nothing more than a high end Taco Bell in my opinion. For the prices they charge, I expected better service, and better tasting food

I have been to other La Casitas before, and I was appalled at the state of this one. Walking in, there were three waitresses in an office behind the guest counter with the door open laughing and joking, ignoring that there were people lined up to be seated. We got to our table and after 20 minutes were approached by a waiter asking us what we would like to drink. We ordered our iced teas and when he came back asked us if we were ready to order. We stated we would like menus and utensils first. The menus were simply a black and white typed sheet of paper that was laminated, no descriptions or explanations of the food, just the name of the dish (frequently misspelled) and the price. We had to look up the menu on our cell phone to see what the food was, but what if we were not cell phone users? The waiter explained that the laminated menus were easier to clean. We know that the original menus were also laminated, but were many pages long. Maybe they should get the three chatty waitresses to clean the good menus? The food we got was acceptable, but the refried beans were obviously old and dried. Not going back to this one again.

Ate here six months ago and it was good. Tonight, massive chicken bones inside the enchiladas and do not EVER order a Chile Relleno. This thing was made days ago by putting some egg in a pan and adding a small piece of chili! NO STEM, hard and stale egg covered in something to bury it. How can a Mexican restaurant not know how to make a freaking Chile Relleno? What a pile of crap. Waitress was nice and the place was clean. Nasty Gringo food.

Solid Mexican food, pretty cool vibe. Close to work and a good spot for lunches, including work lunches.

Service was great as ALWAYS!!! Other people's lack of patience and understanding was truly disappointing with the overwhelming amount of orders in these trying times!!! Of all the non-authentic Mexican restaurants (i.e. Americanized), this one is the best. Never had a bad meal here. Been going for years. Love it.

Service was great. Food was above-average. I mean, you know, it was that typical Mexican restaurant food that we have been eating in big restaurants since the 1980s. Chi-Chi's and Chevy's and Don Pedro or Pablo or whatever it was. Margaritas in fishbowl glasses. You know what I mean. And I kind of like that food...in the same way I like a Chinese buffet once in awhile. So what you are getting here is good if you are expecting traditional American Mexican restaurant fare. If you want GREAT and authentic Mexican food, you go elsewhere. West Saint Paul is a good place to look. Me, I wanted a not-too-spicy and familiar place to meet up with an old friend and chat. For that this place was perfect. I ate every bit of my flautas and the server didn't rush us once we were done, which is worth a star in and of itself. So basically this is a nice family restaurant with pretty good food and very nice service. And good prices. My friends, you could do a LOT worse. Go have a giant margarita and some flautas and relive the days when big chain Mexican restaurants were ubiquitous. Now we have that noodle company everywhere, which is so much worse.

It was ok. Nothing special but not bad. Service was good prices are reasonable. I was in town for a netting and this a good option for a quick lunch.

If you have no taste bud and enjoy spending money then look no further, this place is for you! I love tamales and they made me sad because their tamales were bland, no flavor in the pork and this masa was soggy. It was so weird, no lie I couldn't handle it. Their carne asada taco, more like burnt tips masked with pico. Sad. Not going back.

The food here is pretty great, I'm from California and was not expecting to find such a good Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis, it's very cute inside too and the people at the front are friendly and cheerful.

The food here is delicious! It reminds me a lot of El Bravos that was located on Rice street in Saint Paul. I always order the cheese enchiladas meal, the same I used to order at bravos and beef nachos, yummy! I'm so glad that we discovered this place. This is for sure a regular for us.

The food was excellent. Very tasty and full of flavor. I ordered 1 Tamale as a side item because my wife and I were going to share the Fajita Supreme. The food came fairly quick and it was delicious. The only thing we did not care for was the corn cake. It was dry, crumbly and overall not very good. Inspite of this small item, the rest of the meal was excellent and our server was very attentive. My wife and I plan on dining here again and we wholeheartedly recommend others dine here as well.

This place was absolutely incredible. Phenomenal service. Gorgeous interior. Accommodated special hot sauce request and tajin for my margarita. My chimi was to die for. 11/10 recommend.

Restaurant is clean and decorated with Mexican historical photos which is interesting. We had the Tacos Al Carbon, chicken and steak. Very good and a healthy Mexican option as soft tacos are grilled and not fried. They serve a small "corn cake" which is similar to a little scoop of polenta but sweeter. Very tasty! The service was quick. The salsa is mild. The chips are crisp and not greasy. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is friendly and clean.

Would you like a margarita that comes in a glass big enough for a goldfish to live in? I know I would! Luckily, at La Casita, that is what you get! Yay! Lately I have been craving Mexican food...not in a "Oh, tacos sound good" kinda way, but in a "I need a taco...NOW" kinda way. None of that soggy drive-thru business either. Well, I finally gave into mi deseo picante today! I went to El Burrito Cubano for lunch (see my review), and then La Casita for dinner.... that's right. Don't judge me. La Casita was great! The building was clean, our service was quick and friendly, and the food was tasty! We throughly enjoyed our massive margaritas while perusing the menu. I ended up getting the Combo 7 (delicious beef burrito, cheesy enchilada and a yummy beef taco) while my friend had the Garden Burrito (filled with grilled veggies). We were both extremely pleased with our choices and couldn't finish all the food we had. We did, magically, make room for dessert though! Do yourself a favor: GET THE SOPAPILLAS! Drool inducing, golden fried, soft little pillows of dough that have been rolled in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with honey. Tan delicioso! So very, very good. I am happy to announce that my Mexican food craving has been happily and thoroughly sated.

I enjoyed my experience at La Casita. You have to take it for what it is - an American Mexican joint in Columbia Heights. It's not the most gourmet or the most authentic Mexican, but for what it is, it's pretty good. They have half-price burritos on Monday nights, so I got the fajita burrito with chicken (the waitress said it was her favorite). It was good - not the greatest dish I've ever had in a Mexican restaurant, but good nonetheless. Burritos come drizzled with a red sauce and with a side of rice, lettuce, a tiny little dollop of guac, and sour cream. The portions aren't as huge as some Mexican restaurants - I was able to finish pretty much the whole plate - so you probably won't have leftovers if you get a burrito. Nonetheless, it filled me up and I actually ate a little too much, between the entree and the free chips and salsa on the table. The real reason I liked it so much was because the whole meal came to $6.50, being half price. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. With two entrees, two cokes, and tax, our whole bill came to less than $20. The service was also extremely fast on a Monday night. We were seated immediately, ordered after 5 minutes, and got our food after another 5 minutes. The whole experience was much faster than most sit-down restaurants, and that was a plus for me on a weeknight.

La Casita is consistently good. Another visit tonight, one of many. The food is always good. The service is always excellent. And the food always seems to come out very quickly and the quality is consistent. The food here is good...not fantastic. I wouldn't drive out of the way to eat here. But if you're in the area and in the mood for Mexican, they're solid and you know what to expect. As a side note, I'm glad to see a restaurant that has been around for a while that isn't slacking and going downhill. Words can hardly describe the experience. It's like really bad cultural appropriation. "Salad shrimp" is the disclaimer on many of the dishes. I appreciate their honesty! Why are whole wheat tortillas served with all vegetarian options. That's not a thing. My dining experience started with stale tortilla chips that had no salt. There is no salt on the tables either. I think it's a gimmick because they sell queso dip and after a few bites, you regret your decision to behave and not get any. This was followed up by my mojito that my server apologized because she had to make it. It helped explain why it tasted like soap. Dinner was slightly better. But too much damage was already done.

Decent food but better service. We wolfed down the chips like there was no tomorrow and our server, Katie, even though she was busy filled them up and out salsa all the time. She was nice and quick! The grande chimichanga is perfect to split between two people. ( we substituted the queso blanco instead of the normal sauces, because that sauce is heaven.) I feel weird about the lettuce sitting in that wonderful cheese sauce. What a waste. I also suggest ordering a side of beans and rice because you can never go wrong with all that.

Wife and I love the food there. We usually go to the one on Central. Every time we go, the service is always decent to good. The atmosphere encourages drinking too. Happy hour is usually pretty good. Specials on drinks and certain food items are worth it. The only con is that it can get pricey. The food is pretty generic and the alcohol gets pretty watered down at times. I would recommend to my family and friends.

If I could write this without giving any stars I would have... Omg, I was so disappointed and mortified I will never come back to this restaurant again. Before covid I would go at least once a week. But anyways I get there sit down and for about the 1st 15 minutes nobody comes to our table then finally a waitress comes, you can tell she hasn't been trained properly not her fault. But it took us 30min to get drinks, we had to ask the manager for water (he wasn't happy we asked him, he was pissed) while we waited. When we got our drinks we ordered food it took about 45min to get our taco's and when it came it also wasn't complete. So more waiting after being there for almost 2 hours for 4 taco's and one drink I was ready to go. It got worse, I give my debit card she runs it, supposedly! Than comes back with an attitude saying really loudly you only got a 1.50 on you card trying to embarrass me. I told her that you got to be wrong she had to do something wrong run it again, "you either get approved or denied it never tells you how much money I have". Instead of running it again she gets this girl manager who comes over and said with conviction to me that, she's the one who ran my card and she's the manager " she knows what she's doing and I only have a 1.50 and need to pay the rest in cash. I told her she was wrong as well and she must have made a mistake but at this time she was determined to embarrass me and for her to be right but she came out with some portable card reader I told her she was wrong again and to run my card again in front of me. But long story short she was wrong. The worst part of this whole story is that the manager could have came out and been more gracious and respectful when she "thought" that my card only had a 1.50 on it which is outrageous and when she realized she was wrong she didn't even apologize. She was very dismissive and so was all the managers.

This place is great. Huge tasty margaritas, good food good service all at good prices. The beef items are best here, the fish and chicken is okay too. I like that portions are large but not crazy large. Yup, a go-to in Northeast definitely. Try the fried ice cream- the shell is so tasty.

Love this place! I've only eaten in once but we order take out through amazon often. Amazing food! I always get the number 7!
