We were a little wary about booking the Casona del Viajante as it didn't have any reviews at the time, being so newly opened. However, we were so glad we took a punt - it really is the most brilliant place. ||||The owners have taken so much care in its renovation - and in every element of the experience. The house is in a beautiful location and the interior is incredibly stylish and sensitively done. And the food is fantastic - great breakfasts - fresh bread and fruit, local meats and cheeses, home-baked goodies, eggs, coffee and juice. And as we didn't want to drive out for dinner, we ate there both evenings too and had the best food of our holiday. ||||Prices were very reasonable - comparable to local restaurants - but the quality was much higher than other places we ate at. Dinners need to be pre-ordered but this was no problem - we frankly wanted to order everything they had, and the owners even provided an English menu for us. As a guide, starters were from about 4 euros to 8-10 for the really special dishes, mains mostly around 10-14 euros with a fantastic steak the most expensive at 18 (two inches thick) and desserts about 3 euros. ||||For the quality of food, this was incredible. The owners even printed us out a recipe for our favourite dish. There is also a small but perfectly formed wine list with wine by the bottle at a range of prices. The 'honesty box bar' was also very welcome, with drinks enjoyed outside on a shaded terrace. ||||Totally brilliant place run by lovely people, who were very helpful and kind despite our frankly rubbish attempts at speaking Spanish. Brilliant little hideaway in a beautiful part of the world. Go before everyone else discovers it!
