La Castellana

G-Adventures put us in this hotel at the start and end of our Tour. The breakfast is continental style with 2 pieces of bread, coffee and jam. No complaints here. When we checked back in there were 6 of us. The 2 couples each got rooms with 2 single beds and the single travellers each got a room with a King sized bed. Internet is very poor even when sitting in the lobby. Very good location. Staff was marginally helpful first night and better the second night. The hotel is old and dated but was safe.

This is a small quaint hotel. No AC so there us a mustiness. Breakfast is very good and huge. Eggs to order, great bread, fresh melon, juice, and yogurt. Even my teenage so got more than he could eat. 110 plug ins available. Free WiFi but you need to be near the desk. Good value. Nice people.

Clean, but a little dated rooms. Helpful staff at reception. Good firm beds. Showers are hot, but very low water pressure. Located in a very safe area. Miraflores has lots of private security everywhere. Mostly filled with backpackers of all ages. Free wifi. Continental breakfast (bread, jam, juice, tea/coffee) included in price and can buy additional items cheaply.

Staff wasn't super friendly. Didn't even allow coffee before the official breakfast time. Good shower, hot water and awesome pressure. Safe neighborhood. Good wifi. Terrible damp smell on first floor. Second floor much better. Good location and if you are parr of a group, they know all the ropes.

An economical way to stay in lovely Miraflores. Helpful staff, tasty and large breakfast with the best coffee I've ever had! We had an upstairs room overlooking the courtyard and it was quiet. Plenty of hot water for the shower

Place is clean but tiny beds that very hard, good for the back I suppose. I had room #1 which is right by the entrance. Small windows street side so had the noise from the street as well as people ringing the buzzer at night to get in. Soap is provided but no shampoo or in room safe. Decent hot water for the morning shower. I had three iffy hangers in the closet. Wifi is poor if you're in room #1. I later got room #29 which is on the third floor and the wifi is great. No remote for the television which has poor reception. The outlets are standard three prong similar to the US. To be honest I've stayed at worse in the states but a very basic no frills experience.

Safe and beautiful hotel. But the pillows are thin and beds hard. Noise from the front door bell and wooden corridors are also carried into the rooms. There are newer hotels in the neighbourhood that offer softer beds at half the cost, although security wise La Castellana seems to be slightly superior.

Starting point for small group tour. Close to market and transport to centre of Lima. Nice rooms with slippery tiled bathroom floor. Reception and kitchen staff very helpful and friendly. Understood both English and poor attempts at Spanish.
