Had a really lovely dinner at La Cave à Champagne. The staff couldn’t have been nicer — super friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome from the start. Food was great, and they have a very good selection of Champagnes. Cozy vibe, not too formal, just a really good evening all around. Would happily come back.

Friendly service, great ambiance, wife very much enjoyed her burrata salad and salmon. I could not fault the foie gras or sweet breads. Good wine by the glass. Our best meal in champagne the first two were not great. If one hesitation, no real gap between the courses. Would be happy to return again.

Lovely diner here really enjoyed the Daniel Etienne champagne by the glass. The beef was the highlight but the canard was also great.

Great food and nice atmosphere. My beef fillet was coocked to perfection. The sauce was amazing. My wife had the salmon. Also nice sauce there, but the beef was so much better.

Hi, after researching traditional French restaurants, we chose La Cave a Champagne. We are so glad we did. The first impact of a warm welcome from staff and an atmosphere that said ‘good food is served here’ was reassuring. The menu and wine/champagne list was amazing. The quality of service and food enhanced our experience from starter of oysters, to main of salmon and beef through to desert of cheese and profiteroles…….the price was very reasonable and we would highly recommend and definitely consider returning. Apologies if the photos do not serve the plates justice, the restaurant was full of customers and bustling with cheer.

We had dinner here end of August 2024 and we were super happy about our choice. Traditional and delicious French food at a fair price. Champagne menu with a lot of nice surprises and at an affordable price. The place is authentic and the atmosphere is nice. Throughout the meal we were always taken care of and asked if we liked our champagne and our food. We felt at home at this place.

Yelp
This was the best meal I had during my 4 days in Champagne. The soft boiled egg appetizer was incredible. It was one of those rare occasions when you taste something absolutely unexpected. It was really mind-blowing -- the most unique and delicious thing I have tasted in many years. All of the other dishes were fantastic as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I could not have asked for a better dining experience.

Yelp
We loved it! I made reservations well in advance of our arrival to Epernay and we're excited to try it. We actually heard from a couple of locals that recent reviews were not that great but we decided to stick with our reservation anyway. Very glad we did, it's a cozy spot that seem to have many tourists and locals alike. The food was served promptly, hot and delicious. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this place

Yelp
Good lunch after a hard day of Champaign shopping and cave visits during Xmas holidays. We have been going to the restaurant off and on for 15+ years since we lived in Brussels (in US now for last 10) and began making pilgrimages to the Champaign area. Food is still very good but the menu not as robust as before and the room has been updated. Service great and welcomed as always. My wife and I ate off the carte and my son had the fixed prix menu. He had Guinea fowl which came with a sauce that was so good we had to ask for more bread so he could sop it up. I had the cabillaude which was absolutely delicious and served with a white sauce that had me fighting with my son for the remaking bread morsels. My wife had steak and vegetables that again was so tender and juicy that she smiled through the whole meal ( she eats very little meat now). Add a bottle of Champaign and we were in heaven.

Yelp
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about La Cave a Champagne. My husband and I went here for our Honeymoon and were impressed by the quality of the wine for such a reasonable price. This restaurant is small and very nondescript on the outside - if you walk by too fast you'll definitely miss it! They offer a 3 course menu for roughly 25 Euro that includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. I had the beef burgundy for my entree and it was outstanding. The sorbet for dessert and the cheese plate are a must as well. Enjoy your meal with a glass of wine or champagne. This place is a must if you are ever in Epernay

Yelp
We really expected to love this place since our Airbnb host highly recommended it. There is very limited seating outdoors but indoors was fine. We asked for a wine list and were told there wasn't one. When asked how we would know what they had to choose from, the waiter said to follow him. He took us to the top of a staircase and pointed down. I went down with him to a cellar. The bottles had the prices written on them but it was a bit difficult to see the selection. I selected a rose and we went back upstairs. He opened the bottle and set it on the table - no taste test, no pouring into our glasses and no ice bucket to chill it. Not a great start. We had much better service at an outdoor cafe the next night! The food was between Ok and good. We would not return.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here our first night in Epernay. The space is small and cozy and they keep the heat up! We experienced this all over France, actually, in mid-November; I think as compared to NY, they tend to keep the heat up higher when it's chilly/rainy outside. We quickly got used to shedding our coats and possibly a layer of clothing whenever we entered a restaurant!! We chose different tiers of their prix fixe menu to suit our palattes desires, and were absolutely blown away by everything that was presented to us. We did the champagne tasting, so we each got a total of 4 glasses of champagne. I loved 3 of the 4 -- the rose that came with dessert was not for me...but I'm not a fan of rose generally, so this was to be expected. FOOD. OK. Bread was obviously perfect to start. For appetizers, I got the Oysters Saint Vaast Gratin with a champagne cream sauce -- delicious, not fishy, very filling. My husband got the Baked Eggs with Chaource Cheese Cream and I think we both almost cried with tears of delicious, delicious joy. This was probably the best thing I ate over our entire 11day honeymoon. If I wouldn't gain 50lbs as a direct result, I'd learn this recipe and eat it every day. It's almost like a soup made entirely of egg, cream, and cheese. It is so decadent. It has been almost a month and I still think about it every day. Entrees - I ordered the Cod fillet in a velvet champagne sauce over squid ink risotto - excellent. Perfect sized portion had I indulged appropriately in the bread and appetizer phases of this meal. Would get the same thing again if I went back. Husband got something that I either didn't care to try because I was filling up so quickly, or something I tried and didnt love. I can't remember exactly. Could have been the beef tenderloin or could have been rabbit something or other. I think it was rabbit........not for me. But he reported that it was wonderful, so 5 star continues. FINALLY, dessert. I got the trilogy of cheese...because why not. Husbadn got the creme brulee with vanilla bourbon ice cream. Both were delightful. We ate a few bites and rolled our way out of there. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone passing through Epernay. Our airbnb host recommended it to us and I am so glad we picked this one out of the small list he provided. I'd return in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Delicious foie gras and smoked salmon, and having champagne during lunch just makes it that much better!

Yelp
Atmosphere: It was very clean. We sat in the back of the restaurant due to our group size. Food: Duck: The duck fell apart with the red wine reduction sauce. delicious! The noodles weren't necessary on the plate but I'd eat it anyways. Salmon - The salmon was cooked perfectly. I think it was sousvide. The champange cream sauce was creamy and savory which complimented the delicate salmon very well. Dessert - I have no clue what it was but it wasn't that good haha tasted like medicine. Wine - both red and white were good. I ended drinking more than I should =) ...a little tipsy at the end of the meal. Overall, I wouldn't mind doing this champage tour again just for the food. I'd heard good and bad reviews of this place but I loved every moment of it.

Yelp
Wonderful little restaurant with great food and wine/champagne. We were looking for authentic French food and we found it here. Prices were not bad, especially for the 3-4 course meals we got. Everything was excellent !!

Yelp
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about La Cave a Champagne. My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and were impressed by the quality of food for a reasonable price. They also have a few more innovative dishes for the more adventurous eater...I even had foie for the first time and found it to be quite good! Enjoy your meal with a glass of wine or champagne. This place is a must if you are ever in Epernay.

Yelp
Excellent cuisine, incredible champagne et vin, family owned and ran. This restaurant is the absolute best - the chef and owner is a philanthropist and culinary educator. Make sure to stop by in between champagne houses and treat yourself!

Yelp
My wife I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions but thus last visit was not a good one! Apart from the general shabbiness of the restaurant which on previous occasions I have ignored as the staff and atmosphere we're delightful the restaurant itself is not breaking any records for its decor or ambiance. In fact on our last visit they had modestly redecorated one side of the narrow dining room though my wife didn't even notice. We had the same "menu gormand" as we have done on previous occasions. Maybe it was the decision not to spend the day champagne tasting that affected the quality of the meal but I couldn't help feeling that something had gone amiss in the kitchen and dining room. Our meal felt rushed and dishes that had before left a lasting impression seemed bland and uninspiring. The staff were curt and to the point where as only the year before they were jovial and convivial. I think it's time to find a new restaurant for dinner and I with the Cave all the best in the future but I won't be dining there again for a while.
