Pleasantly surprised. Little haven of peaceful .lush garden and swimming pool, bordered by the rooms and walls.|Swimming pool nicely deep at one end.|Rooms ,pleasant and straightforward. ,needing a little attention .Hairdryer may or may not be in your room. Fixed shower only.| Windows open for ventilation. A/C available if one must. |Breakfast buffet of local food, excellent.|Only one night stay during a small group tour but I would have loved to stay two in order to take a boat trip from the quayside in the town, which has a rural ambience to it ,even though so close to a big city,. Small market ,local shops, tourist shops ,riverside restaurants all a few minutes walk from this hotel.

For what it is, this is a very good hotel. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it is quite pleasant with a very nice garden and clean and pleasant rooms. We stayed for two nights. The buffet breakfast (which costs 195 pesos per person extra) is excellent. Service was efficient and quite good. We parked our car in the secure parking area which worked well. There was a wedding on one of the nights we stayed, yet it was still quiet and did not bother us. The pool is nice and we enjoyed swimming. The main reason we stayed was because of its proximity to the airport. I personally would not choose to stay in Chiapa de Corzo unless there was a reason to get to/from the airport, though the Canyon is great and it's a pleasant enough town which we enjoyed walking around but best done as a day trip.

We arrived with a tour group of 14 and were kept waiting for hours in a small reception area because our rooms were not ready despite it being well past check-in time. The restaurant had very limited options for lunch, although the buffet breakfast offered more variety. The rooms were well appointed and clean. The pool area was pleasant, with shady sections and a number of chairs and loungers.

The hotel is clearly the best hotel in town. Maybe there are others on the outskirts but we did not see them. The room was very nice although it was next to the restaurant and there was some noise, which ended early. There is a nice pool, which is welcome because Chiapa de Corso is not high like San Cristobal and can get quite hot. The hotel arranged a Sumidero Canyon boat ride for us with transportation to the dock, which was reasonably priced and convenient. The courtyard was very luxurious, like a jungle with paths. A few interesting blocks from the main plaza. A good reasonable place to stay.

We were not planning to stay here as we planned to drive past to the coast. But due to road conditions we made an unplanned stop here. I am happy to have found this place as it is an absolute gem. The inside with the gardens and the pool is like an oasis. People were taking care of the facilities in the afternoon, sweeping traces of cob webs. The outside porches overlooking the corridors make a nice place to sit at in the evenings. It is clear that the people running this beautiful place, care deeply what they do as is evident from the friendly service and the dedication to maintain this facility is such a beautiful state. Bravo! The hotel is well located to use as a springboard for other day trips, although we did not have time for that during our trip.

Nice rooms and good atmosphere. I loved the tropical garden. The breakfast was good and staff were nice. The pool could have been a bit cleaner (leaves and such), but we did arrive after a storm so it was understandable.

This hotel has location, location, location, but no hot water. It has a beautiful, lush, garden setting and charming rooms, but no hot water. We stayed there one night at the start of our trip and had to change rooms in order to get hot water. As we were checking out we said we wanted to cancel our reservation for our return stay unless they could guarantee us hot water. They wrote a note on our reservation page in their binder and promised us hot water. Sadly there was none. If you can live without hot water, then this would be a good hotel for you. It is a very short walk to the central plaza as well as the embarkation spot for the boat trips on the river to view the Sumidero Canyon. When we were there the tress were shedding seeds so when we sat by the pool (which was full of seeds despite it being cleaned moments before) it was like we were being rained on -- we got covered in seeds. The staff was very helpful. We only had breakfasts at the restaurant and they were fine. The restaurant was not open for dinners.
