Do not sit outside unless you want to tip every single performer that performs while you eat. We’ve had 4 performers in the span of an hour. They come directly to you to ask for tips. We came here because it was popularized by Anthony Bourdain. It probably was great back then but definitely not today. The dishes were spammed with lots and lots of shrimps. The ceviche didn’t taste fresh. Octopus tasted like rubber. It was overall an unpleasant dinner and it’s overpriced too. Go somewhere else

An adequate place to eat, but don’t expect to be blown away. Really cute little spot, and I was sure to eat inside after hearing about being swamped for tips by street performers if you eat outside. The food itself was mid-range. I actually enjoyed the free crisps with salsa and lemonade the most. My ceviche starter was pretty crap so I didn’t eat half of it. My main was ok but a little heavy and the calamari was so stringy I almost choked.

Not entirely sure what the hype is. Anthony Bourdain visited and they seem to be riding that wave. That’s it The ceviche is decent but basically the same as what you get anywhere else. The cost is absolutely exorbitant for the sizes of the portions, I struggle to see what justifies it. When ordering a beer with michelada, a standard excellent drink in the region, they serve a tiny bit of lime juice with a beer, no chilli powder or flavouring. Wouldn’t revisit or recommend. Hundreds of similar good ceviche places around Cartagena.

The ceviche here is fantastic – really fresh and flavorful. Lina was our server, and she was wonderful. She made sure we had everything we needed and provided excellent service.

Was recommended this place by our hotel concierge and our Uber driver and it did not disappoint! Didn’t know Anthony Bourdain came here too and enjoyed it. No surprise because it was amazing. I love ceviche and am pretty critical when it comes to a good one, all of their ceviches hit the spot. We tried 3 ceviches and 1 appetizer. The Coco & Limon ceviche was the best and a must have! The seafood was fresh and the juices of lime, coconut, tangerine, etc. that the ceviche was drenched in was fresh was well. My fiancé doesn’t like seafood as much, but he loved the ceviches here. So fresh and so good. Our server Deymer, did an amazing job! He made sure we were well taken care of and made some great recommendations, and all with a big smile on his face. Amazing service!

La Cevichería is a nice spot in Cartagena, but the food isn’t anything extraordinary and the prices are quite high. I ordered a bottle of water that cost me 30,000 pesos. Also, sitting outside can be uncomfortable as there are lots of street vendors passing by constantly, which makes it hard to enjoy your meal.

I think this is the best food I had in Colombia ! Loved it ❤️❤️❤️ I ordered ceviche columbiano en tentacipn mixed and Cocoloco (cocktail with coconut and lemonade) The flavors in ceviche were woah !! The service was great too. I would recommend getting a reservation as the restaurant is small and more tables are available outside and in the heat you will not be able to completely enjoy if you get an outdoor seat. I walked in right at 1:00 when they opened and I luckily got an indoor table. It’s a very very busy restaurant and for a reason (good food)

La Cevichería truly lives up to its reputation! We started with the Miss-celania de Ceviche (shrimp, octopus, and fish), and it was outstanding—super fresh and packed with flavor. For our mains, we had the Arroz Vietnamita and a Sicilian mushroom dish (can’t recall the exact name), both of which were delicious and well-prepared. The interior of the restaurant is charming and inviting, making for a great dining atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. However, the timing of our main courses was a bit off—they arrived almost 10 minutes apart. It wasn’t a huge deal since we were still enjoying our appetizer, but it would have been nice to get them at the same time. One tip: avoid the outdoor seating if possible. The interior is much more pleasant. Overall, La Cevichería is definitely worth a visit for fresh seafood and great service!
