Stopped in what felt like the middle of nowhere for a little wine tasting. Turned out to be a lovely place that also had a brewery & yummy smelling pizza. A little something for everyone. Lovely.

This was one of the highlights of our winery tour. Amazing wine with free tasting and a very friendly lady behind the counter. The sweet white wine was our favorite.

We love love love La Chiripada Winery! We discovered it years ago when there was a tasting room in the square in Taos. Then 10 years ago, we finally made it to the actual winery near Dixon. Getting back there was a must for us this visit. It did not disappoint!! Wine tasting is free and unlimited. When you buy a case or more, you get 10 percent off. They ship almost anywhere. Very friendly and knowledgeable people work there.

The last winery on our 5-stop tour of New Mexico wineries. La Chiripada was an unexpected surprise just down the road from the junction of State Rd 68 and Dixon. The small twist on the normal theme came from subtle variations to the typical wine tastes, including the use of huge amphora for aging a few of the vintages. The sculpture out front and a fun story from one of the owners about their link to Colorado was a great personal touch to end our tour on.

We really enjoyed our visit. They don't do wine by the glass or bottle on site, but the tastings are free and generous. We shipped a couple cases home to SC. And thank you to Aspen for being such a wonderful host!

This winery surprised me! It's really good! I've been to a lot of new mexico wineries. They tend to be too sweet for me. The cab reserve is excellent! As well as the vino del oro! And the gewurztraminer! Oh, who am I kidding? I liked almost everything here!

The winery itself is small and is really just to sell bottles and leave. It is not a place to sit down, hang out and enjoy a glass or bottle of wine. The nice thing is you can taste as many of the wines as you want for free. Bottles are pricey. Nice staff. Not somewhere I would return.

Aspen was a delightful host. She knew her product well and was very helpful in guiding us to our selection. We will be back often.
