La Cigale French Bistro

As a group of 6 guest, we arrived for our 7pm reservation and got seated promptly . Our sever J.P introduced himself and offered us a drink , we all agreed for water to begin before we had a chance to look at the menu and J.P informed us “we only have bottled water “ we politely asked for tap water . When he returned with the water, we were ready to place our wine-drink order , however he was attempting to up-sale us to the Cote Du Rhône for $1395 MX peso . Our French onion soup arrived and it was over the top , not overly salty and amazing . The main arrived “ Beef Bourguignon “ and was served over Boxed pasta and normaly severed over mashed potatoes, however the beef was very tender and mouthwatering . The overall experience was only a 7 star on a scale of 10 .

The service was great, the food didn't have the refinement I was expecting from a French bistro. We dined outside on the patio, the chairs could have more cushing but that is not usually for mexican restaurants

Everything was excellent, from the start, the seating, the attentiveness from the manager and waiter. I has the best French onion soup and my wife had the best escargot around. I had the delicious Beef Bourguignion and my wife had a salmon-both meals were filling. Prices are ok but the food was excellent-we don’t mind paying for fabulous food. We’ll return.

The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely go again!

Three of us sat down about 4:30pm No one else in restaurant. We ordered three glasses of wine, brie cheese as an appetizer.. french onion soup, dinners: puff pastry with shrimp & mushrooms cream sauce- chicken dinner with fries - salmon with salad. Bread was served after sitting for an hour!!!.. .. brie half an hour after that with more bread… finally the soup.. !!?? dinner was served almost 2 hrs or more after ordering. Salmon.. excellent, chicken dinner cold and hard/dry.. french fries .. of the frozen kind and cold.. and puff pastry dinner.. cold and shrimp was hard - also overcooked. We returned the chicken dinner.. andthey re-served.. chicken still dry and overcooked.. We were all very disappointed with the service and the food.

Upon walking in I was sure I had entered a little bistro on a small street in Paris with quaint French jazz playing taking me back to the 1940s (or so it seemed, as that was long before my time). Every course I had was better than the next. I couldn't believe how flavorful the food was, and how high quality the ingredients and for such reasonable prices. Even the house wine (a French Cabernet Sauvignon) was so yummy. The service was also impeccable. I really felt like I'd hit the lottery on this find, highly recommend. We recently visited the new location, and it is as good as ever. There are nice indoor and outdoor spaces, and it's the same taste and feel as before.

Wonderful evening hosted by our waiter, Roberto! The attentive staff made us feel at home and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio!

Such a delicious meal on a pleasant night in there outdoor patio. The service was outstanding, not rushed and very much in the French manner. The beef bourguignon was outstanding. As was the appetizer and salad. Paired beautifully with wines. High recommendation for this treasure in Versalles!
