One of the most played videos in my entire youtube history is “Red Hot Chili Peppers - Full Live at La Cigale 2006 [HD].” The live version of Soul to Squeeze from this concert is engrained in my brain at this point. Frusciante hits a pocket towards the end of the song that I want to be played as I am entering the portal from this life into the next. All this to say, you can imagine how star struck I was when my girlfriend and I were walking to our first meal in Paris and walked by the sacred La Cigale Theatre. I stopped and said an awe filled “NOO WAAAYYY!!” I tried to explain how special this was to me personally to my lady, but stopped as I realized how goofy I sounded. Some moments are truly just for you and your spirit, and there is something special in that. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

La Cigale is one of Paris’s most iconic and intimate concert venues – and an absolute must for music lovers. Tucked away in the lively Pigalle neighborhood, it has a charm that combines old-world elegance with a raw, electric energy that comes alive during performances. The hall itself is stunning, with beautiful red velvet seating, ornate balconies, and that classic Parisian theater feel. The acoustics are excellent – you can really feel the music, whether you're standing in the pit or seated in the mezzanine. I’ve seen everything from indie rock to soul artists here, and the sound quality has been consistently impressive. What really makes La Cigale special is how close you feel to the performers. It’s large enough to host well-known acts, but small enough that no matter where you are, the experience feels personal and immersive. One important tip that’s often overlooked: don’t forget to tip the ushers! Many of them work hard to help people find their seats quickly and keep the crowd flowing smoothly, especially during sold-out shows. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way, and it’s part of the concert etiquette at venues like this. The venue is easy to access by metro (right near Pigalle station), and there are plenty of great spots to grab a drink or bite before or after the show. Whether you're a local or just visiting Paris, catching a concert at La Cigale is an experience you won’t forget. 350,000 views/month on Google Maps As a Local Guide and photographer, I love discovering spots like this! Great show put on (Stomp), but the seating....'pff' as the French would say! Paid 74€ for approx 15cms of legroom across almost half my seat, really spoiled the evening for me 🫤 The images are seat folded/sprung up and then held down. The stage was to the right when seated so your legs had to go left and invade your neighbors space, while you look right for a couple of hours....really comfortable ffs! 🙄 I don't know how they can sell that at full price....won't be going back in a hurry!

Went here in December, La Cigale is a great concert hall. I specifically loved the balcony which is where I was standing through the show.

Very good venue, accessible via metro and bus. Upstairs seating, downstairs standing, excellent visibility of the stage from all areas. Good bar, reasonable prices. Staff helpful and courteous. If you ever get the opportunity to see a show here, take it,

Show (theatre) was amazing but was very disappointed that both audience and staff(!) kept talking during the show! People got up and moved around during it too. Been for some concerts which were good there, but theatre show, not great

It was really really hot inside and there was no AC. People were struggling with the heat. I only put 4 starts because la Cigale hosted the one and only Josh Johnson and his standup concert.

Google
I found La Cigale to be quite a small concert venue and easy to watch the band on stage. Even at the back, I found it easy see. The sound and light show was exceptional. The ushers were very friendly and helpful, asking me if I would like to move seats further forward as it wasn't completely full. I declined, though, as the seats we had were excellent. On the whole, a wonderful evening!

Yelp
Standing room only on the main floor for the show, but I was able to sit in the upper level. Seats are super uncomfortable. The exit flow at a crowded event was not optimal. But I was there for a great show and the size of the venue was perfect for that.

Yelp
I have been a fan of this restaurant for the past fifteen years. Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be on a number of levels. The service, the quality, and the portions of food have all become disappointing. Also, the prices have skyrocketed to the point of insulting their customers. Now, a small glass of soda is $10. Why? It feels desperate. We had ordered chicken marsala. It used to be that you would receive two chicken filets. It's now one small 5" pounded chicken breast. We had ordered the flaming apple tart. The waiter had poured vinegar instead of cognac over the top and made numerous failed attempts to light. When we went to eat it, our throats burned... Asking the waitress to make it right by taking off one of the $10 sodas she complained, stating, "But I didn't charge you for the dessert." We also brought a friend to celebrate a birthday. At no point was her birthday acknowledged. The overall experience would be rated an "F". It's sad because for years, the owner acted as though he cared. That's all changed. Spend your money at a place that cares.

Yelp
Fulfilled another bucket list by coming to see Jimmy Buffett here!!! Thank you to the staff for coordinating a great event!! This is a TINY venue (which makes it the BEST Buffett show). It's a floor and a small balcony. It gets hot as HELL in here , but this could be because it was an unusually warm day in Paris. I dunno. Pricey drinks , clean restrooms.

Yelp
Small concert venue but quaint. You can really get great seats and it was a lot of fun watching Dee Dee Bridgewater. It wasn't that hot overall we liked the venue and the staff was helpful
