This cafe is perfect for sitting down to get some work done and for a good coffee. I spent a few hours here cranking out homework. It's super cozy and there's lots of places to sit. Even some couches and comfy chairs. Felt very homey and I definitely will be going back! Also, it seemed to get lively around 5pm with a DJ playing music so it’s definitely a good vibe during the day or evening.

Surprisingly great place for a drink plus impressive order at the counter food. I had the turkey with peas on a whim and it was beyond delicious. Great friendly hosts. Open late I ordered around midnight. Was hungry after dinner so wandered to here.

Great place to study, paint or chill. The food is nice with veggie options and I loved the coffee ☕️ There are lots of options to sit around from cuddly couches to proper tables, free WiFi and places to charge🤍 Highly recommend ❤️❤️

A study hotspot for students. Decent coffee for the price, pistachio cheesecake was nice. Good place to sit for a few hours to complete some work.

Google
Nice chilled vibe, good tunes, and cheap drinks. Staff were friendly and generous, insisting on offering toasted snacks with my €4 glass of house wine. Enjoyed it, and will be back to try the toasties and cakes.

Google
It is the cutest and yummiest place to chill, eat a delicious pistachio cornetto, and drink a latte. The service is terrific, and they helped us get a taxi when needed. Thank you for your excellent hospitality and comfy atmosphere.

Yelp
My wife and I walked to the south of the Arnot for this delightful coffee shop. It had all the local feels. Most of the people looked like they were younger locals, with computers up and typing away. It is exactly what I like to have in a comfortable coffee shop... a lot of eclectic decorations, comfortable furniture and variety of places to sit. It has a lot of windows for sunlight and a second floor for those who like to enjoy a loft-like experience. My wife and I had cappuccino's and pastries, both were great. It was so relaxing to sit there and watch the world go by in this comfortable setting.

Yelp
What a warm reading space here In Florence.. The staff greeted us as we walked in the door...

Yelp
Tucked away from the touristy sections of Florence is a wonderful bookstore/coffeeshop combo named La Cité. Books and coffee, need I say more? Well yeah, because they even serve booze! The unique layout of the space allows you to wander through the shop with not necessarily caring about your end destination. There are chairs, tables, cushions, couches in every nook and cranny of the two story building. The counter area greets you upon walking in. The faces were friendly and even with a slight language barrier we were able to to land our caffeine jolt. I consider La Cité more of a hideaway than anything else. It's relaxed, it's cozy, and all folks are welcome to stay for as long as they like. If I remember correctly, they were playing some sweet jams while we were there, which is always a bonus!

Yelp
I loved this place. We were staying in the neighborhood and looking for a chill place to hang out and read. The ambiance is perfect: cosy, collegial, intellectual. The crowd seemed like a lot of students but it's not rowdy - some folks are on laptops, some are having conversations, some are reading or playing chess. The wine is very reasonably priced and comes with small snacks: potato chips, olives and nuts. The service is friendly and completely comfortable with our mangled Italian. I only wish a place like this existed back home: a quiet wine bar that's open late and lets you read without any hassle to get moving.

Yelp
We enjoyed the best drinks at Cafe La Cité! Our server was so helpful and kind. After a day of walking around the beautiful city, this was such a sweet spot to relax and laugh.

Yelp
Hip and artsy cafe that's also fun and vibrant, but also a really lovely place to sit down and study (or people watch and draw hehe). There's plenty of seatings available and more tables upstairs. Lots of cool books around to inspire you and the drinks are great! They were many others with their laptops working, and although the wifi wasn't very strong, it was a good cozy environment to get work done. :) AND THEIR HOT CHOCOLATES. More like a hot chocolate pudding--they're velvety thick and rich (€4). They have it in different flavors too, from classic to dark to cinnamon and orange, to hazelnut, almond, etc. If you've only had hot chocolate in America, it's completely different. It's so rich and chocolately... it's not a kiddie drink, trust me.

Yelp
Very cool spot, great atmosphere. It's a bookstore/caffè and has live music at night. Baristas were friendly & caffe marocchino was great. It's a great spot to hang out & study!

Yelp
Very much in love with this bookstore turned social spot/coffee aficionado's heaven. A bit of a backstory: My roommate and I decided to avoid rainy day syndrome (aka spending the whole day sleeping and comfortable tucked under a duvet) by leaving the room in search of a nice study spot. A few google searches and a twenty minute walk had us tucked inside a pleasant and well-decorated bookstore (the furniture is reminiscent of most wood-based-decor coffee shops). Interestingly enough, it seems as though it has yet to be discovered by most study abroad students (considering the soft Italian conversations that seem to add to the overall aura of the place). A few drawbacks would have to be: - Limited amount of seating (it fills up pretty quickly) - Slow wifi - Stuffy at times Otherwise, it fits snugly within my definition of a "good study spot." Definitely would recommend.

Yelp
As a student who studied abroad in Florence, Italy last spring, this was my go to spot for studying and doing homework. It is hidden in an alleyway, away from the tourists, and I absolutely loved the vibes, the decor and everything. The cafe is very unique inside, and the bar serves mixed drinks and espresso drinks. They have live music at night, and book readings in the daytime. The baristas were always super kind to me, even with my terrible Italian! Super rare to find nice locals in Italy who treat you like a local. I would love to come back one day! Grazie mille, La Cité!

Yelp
All time favorite neighborhood bar. The ambiance is lovely, and drinks are absolute top notch. Robert is an extremely talented bartender and so friendly, he made every single one of our visits here very memorable. My dad, a big whiskey fan, couldn't stop raving about Roberts whiskey gingers. It's an extremely chill vibe, with the art and decor on the walls adding a unique flair to this 2 story little gem. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Florence.

Yelp
A super relaxed, hip spot to have an espresso or drink while working on the laptop or reading your book. The place can get packed but there are seats upstairs with plenty of tables. Some snacks providing but seemed mostly like a drink place to me. I'd go for the atmosphere and feel of an American/university cafe.

Yelp
This is a very cool bar/library which is an interesting concept. The music is great and creates a really vibrant mood especially at around midnight and onwards. This place is especially great because it seems to attract a lot of Italians which is the goal for everyone who is a tourist in a foreign country. The aperol spritz are good here and cost €5 which is decent. Especially for the great vibe that you get here it seems to me like a no brainer. My only complaint (which some people might not see as a problem) but it's very hot in here which can become a problem for a lot of people and is the sole reason why I didn't give this place 5 stars. All in all its a great place to take one significant other or just a fun group of friends as either way you won't be let down. See you there!

Yelp
Welcoming, comfortable, cool. In the best local area in town, near fun bars & restaurants. La Cite is a great place to get work done, hang with friends over coffee, or start a night out. The staff is very friendly -- but you'll need to make I.T clear you want to order when you enter. Drinks are good & well priced -- coffee around €1.50 and house red wine €3. WiFi, lots of seating & tables, and comfy couches. Absolutely love coming here any time of the day -- I've been here 3x in one day before and enjoyed it each time. Bathroom is a little gross, but it's there. A lot of the furniture seems like it's about to dismantle once you sit on it, but you're not there for quality furniture.

Yelp
Super friendly. Brought us free prosciutto sandwiches late at night just for the hell of it. Super chill vibe.

Yelp
Wonderful place to work on homework or to study. Would recommend the upstairs area. I sat up there and worked on my studies for hours when I was there and got a lot done. No air conditioning which can get really hot during July and early August but there were fans to help with that and that is pretty typical throughout the city.

Yelp
Wonderful and quaint cafe nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very friendly staff, a wonderful cappuccino, and an interesting book selection!

Yelp
Recommended by a friend to come here! It's a pretty hip place. Got the spritz, it's so refreshing. Music is on point! I love jazz, hip hop, and funk. Great place to have a drink and hang out. Highly recommended. Hope to come back when there's live music.

Yelp
Possibly my favorite place in Florence! Perfect for studying in the afternoon, the. Come relax and listen to live music with a great drink later. The bartenders are great, atmosphere is artsy. Lots of artist drawing in corners.

Rachel M.

Yelp
The prices here are very good with a wonderful atmosphere. They have music on weekends and the entire place is always lively. Only downside is difficulty to find seating because it is always busy! Everyone I know loves La Cité as much as I do whether it's enjoying a cappuccino, curling up with one of their books, or studying for a big exam, it is a prime spot for anything. Just make sure you get there at a good time and I suggest not buying anything until you know you have a seat.

Yelp
such a funky, original place we stumbled across. Cheap drinks, adorable service and one of the coolest DJs I've enjoyed in a long time. If we lived in Florence, this would most definitely be our hangout.

Yelp
This cafe/bookshop is so cozy and cute! I love spending the afternoon here reading a book and sipping on a beer. Their wifi is a little bit slow, maybe because a lot of people come here to get work done. I went one Saturday night and there was a live band and salsa dancing! Love it.

Michael H.

Yelp
Great and cozy place - good in the daytime for reading & coffee, great in the evening for haning out, drinking and dancing :)
