La Cocina Que Canta

Cooking classes are so fun as are the morning breakfast hikes. They teach great skills, have an amazing knowledge of things in the garden and are willing to take the time to educate guests. Visiting the garden is a must do for any trip to the ranch.

Great & quiet place for breakfast

Love it. Nice place to walk and eat when visiting Tecate. Ask for chef ana! She's the best and very lovely chef.

El lugar es muy lindo. Está lleno de flores, y con una vista del cerro del Cuchuma. Nos dieron un menú de desgustacion con 4 tiempos. Quesos y charcutería de vegetales. Tortilla española. Después unas brochetas. De plato principal una paella y de postre un flan. Todo acompañado por unas Tecates.

Muy lindo lugar, un lugar apartado de la ciudad

El lugar es simplemente hermoso, muchos árboles frutales. Solo fui a tomar algo, una sangria, estaba buena. No tuve la oportunidad de comer pero si me gustaría regresar.

Mejor desayuno en Tecate. Siempre llegó aquí cada ves que visitó a mi abuela aquí en Tecate.

Ok... so pulling up to the main gate I didnt expect the beautiful landscaping, age old pepper and Olive trees... sage, cactus, a real amazing scene. The food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken-sandwich but ended up eating from everyones plate. The Callo de Hacha was spicy but a great choice. The Camaron enchilado was better than expected and I ended up eating the other half of my daughters plate. The Sangrias are an excellent fruity choice but BE CAREFUL..!! I am 6 feet tall 245lbs and I think 1 of the sangria drinks was more than enough!

The scenery is beautiful and the food is delicious. They have a cute garden that you can eat at. We had a great experience.

The Baja Kitchen had an event at La Cocina que Canta on Saturday night. With six top chefs from mostly Baja and a couple from San Diego. It all started with Champagne and Ceviche. The next course was made by Javier Plascencia ( who was there ) and was three pieces of Hamachi with wonderful tastes on each piece. The next course was a buttery Mussel Soup and we were drinking Finisima beer, which paired perfectly. Chef Nancy Leon did duck in a rice bun. Then there was a grilled Shrimp pair with Casa Magoni Chardonnay. The next dish was grilled Octopus with green beans, then a rack of Lamb, all paired with Baja red wines. La Cocina que Canta is the cooking school at Rancho la Puerta, they have an amazing vegetable garden and beautiful cooking facilities.
