La Cofradía de Pescadores

We loved this 4 years back. Now service not as good. Fast but not friendly. Portions large, not small plates.

Food was amazing, seafood was fresh, but there were no such thing as side dish. Beer was good, but the waiters were really slow we waited half an hour to order and than like 20 minutes to get served. Prices were good.

I chose this restaurant based on the good reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn’t meet expectations. The dishes are not served as in typical Spanish restaurants, where you usually receive a side dish or some garnish — and this is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. I wouldn’t have minded ordering a side dish separately, but there were no options listed in the menu and the waiter didn’t mention any alternatives. I ordered the octopus and it came completely plain — just boiled octopus on a plate, without any side dish or salad. The service also felt unfriendly and not very helpful. Overall, I’ve had much better dining experiences in restaurants with fewer or similar reviews.

In a very touristy area, this was a great and refreshing find - lovely, simple food, and very pleasant service. The queso asado with mojo was delicious, and the parrillada de pescado fresco was an excellent choice - amazing fish. A very nice experience all round, highly recommended.

Tucked away in one of the charming streets of Puerto de la Cruz, La Cofradia de Pescadores is a place I make sure to visit every single year. No matter how many times I return, it has become a fixed highlight of my stay. The menu is somewhat limited, but that is exactly where its strength lies. What they offer is consistently fresh, perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The focus on quality over quantity is clear in every dish, especially the seafood, which always tastes as if it has just come straight from the ocean to your plate. The setting adds to the experience. Located in a pleasant little street, it is easy to settle down on the terrace and enjoy a relaxed meal in the open air. The atmosphere feels authentic and unpretentious, making it an ideal spot to unwind. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portions you receive. On top of that, the service is warm and friendly, which makes you feel welcome each time you walk in. For me, a trip to Puerto de la Cruz simply would not be complete without a visit to La Cofradia de Pescadores. It is one of those rare places that manages to stay consistently good year after year.

Great food and location. The grilled cheese and paella were excellent. Sea view since it’s on a terrace. Service was a bit slow, but was expected since it was pretty packed during lunch time.

My best mate and I ordered seafood paella and it was mouth-watering and very delicious. The baby squid appetiser was soft and not gummy, really tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downside is, service was a little slow but only because we did not book a table (it wasn't that super busy tho when we came).
