This is a super cute coffee shop with great brick layout, huge windows, and nestled in a artsy decorated alleyway. The staff is super friendly straight when you walk in and the coffee itself is pretty good as well. Rich and creamy with ornate mugs. The only thing that felt lacking was the Danish. It was a bit on the dry side and didn't have the richness we were hoping for. Either way it was still a great spot.

Google
I have been coming to this coffee shop almost every day since they opened around 10 years ago - way before Blagden Alley was trendy! Even though it’s technically a national chain, this particular location has always felt much more like a local institution. The staff is always so nice (current manager Alyssa is a delight, as is longtime barista Sandra) and the vibes are always great, whether it’s saying hi to the morning commuters or meeting interesting convention attendees from out of town. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, you can’t do better in the neighborhood than this spot!

Google
This place has one of the best coffees that we've had in DC. The draft coffee is amazingly smooth and creamy. The coffee is fragrant and thoroughly enjoyable, although I usually prefer my coffees to be stronger and bolder in taste. It's not the easiest to find the place considering you have to pass a smaller alleyway to the back to see it. Would definitely be back for another cup before I leave this place. Plenty of art on the walls outside the cafe - a bonus.

Google
La Colombe is next-level when it comes to coffee! Their brews are smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced — you can really taste the quality and craftsmanship in every cup. Whether it’s their signature draft lattes, cold brew, or a classic cappuccino, the flavors are always bold and satisfying. The vibe at their cafes is laid-back and stylish, making it a perfect spot to unwind or get some work done. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about coffee. If you’re a true coffee lover, La Colombe is a must-visit.

Google
La Colombe easily has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had and I always make a point to go at least once while in DC! Never bitter or weak, a fine balance. This location is in a cute little alley which is perfect if you’re trying to find a quiet corner to take a break from the noise of the city. Has the vanilla latte with oat milk and loved it!

Google
Hidden on Blagden Alley NW in DC, but it is easy walk to get to if staying in the area. This is locate down a neighborhood alley and not easily spotted, but worth the hunt. You will know you are in the right area as it has plenty of artmurals around. You will also find the DC Alley Museum in the same area. Very welcoming place as it has an open design like you would find in a neighborhood like this. I got a ham and cheese croissant with my cappuccino. If you want to get a quiet coffee and breakfast away from the DC chaos, drop over here for a spell.

Google
We just followed the crowed and it led us to this coffee place. It wasn’t disappointing at all! Very good coffee and bakeries. It resides in Blagden Valley which was interesting itself. It was an old shabby part of town now is under going transforming to a better place. The colorful murals lighten up the valley. Parking was easy ( from what I observed) just park on the brick road.

Google
I really enjoy this La Colombe location; it has a cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy a coffee. However, my experience was disappointing due to several issues. First, the quality of my coffee was not up to standard, lacking the richness and balance I usually expect. More concerning, however, was the service. The customer service was not only extremely slow but also displayed clear discriminatory behavior, making the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. A café should be a space where all customers feel valued and respected, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. I hope management takes steps to improve both service efficiency and staff training to ensure a more inclusive and professional environment for all patrons.

Yelp
I flew in from San Francisco so I have flight fatigue and need caffeine to jump start my brain. I had several cups of coffee this week, and this by far is the best cup of coffee I've had this week. I also bought a chocolate bar and it's delicious. It's located in an alley so it's hard to find. I actually went looking for it yesterday per recommendation from my friend. So ask someone after you follow your gps. When you do find it, you are greeted by a beautiful brick store front with big windows lots of light and the warm aroma of fresh brewed coffee. Oh and there is a dog bowl plenty of seating. And the people here offer warm water personalities.

Yelp
Unique coffee experience! Small coffee house vibes inside. Wasn't sure what to order so the baristas offered some tastings of the lattes on tap! It was incredible and helpful in guiding our order. Ended up with a plain latte and a London fog. That latte was standard but fun to try the fresh version of what they can. The early grey took me back to my favorite college coffee shop. It was pure nostalgia for me and loved every sip. Husband wished it was a warmer day because he would have gotten one of the coffees on tap.

Yelp
Great place to get a cup of coffee and a pastry. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They have non-coffee drinks as well and their seasonal coffee offerings change regularly. It is also kind of in a hidden alley which adds to the appeal!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're a fan of a good dirty chai latte, this one is an absolute game-changer. The balance between spicy chai and smooth espresso is spot on, creating the ideal harmony of bold and comforting flavors. The chai is perfectly spiced--not too overwhelming, but just enough to provide that warm, aromatic kick that you crave. If you're a chai or coffee lover (or both!), this is a must-try!
google avatar

Se C.

Yelp
Great coffee I stopped by to try their seasonal strawberry draft latte. I got two small drinks. One drink was filled to the top but the other one noticeably had less volume. Felt a bit ripped off considering that it is almost $7 per drink.

Yelp
Big fan of La Colombe and try to visit shops whenever I travel and a city happens to have one or more. I tried this La Colombe as I was walking around the Blagden Alley area. It's a quaint spot with lots of street art. This La Colombe was lovely! Great decor inside and out, ample seating, and nice staff. I had a draft latte and really enjoyed it. Super fresh and great balance of flavor. A nice variety of options for hot + cold drinks and some pastries.

Yelp
Long-time La Colombe fan - this Philadelphia-based coffeeshop has several locations around DC and NYC. However, this particular location of La Colombe is super cute - it's down a small alleyway and seems like a special discovery once you've found it. With several art walls and murals around, it's definitely worth a visit - just keep in mind there's very little outdoor seating. That's OK, though, because where it lacks in outdoor seating, it has plenty of indoor seating - several tables and chairs for 1-2 peoples down the length of the shop. Keep in mind, though, the shop is popular and the tables do fill up. The service is still on point, as it is at almost every La Colombe I've visited. Coffee/Espresso is great! They don't skimp on quality and are always efficient and polite. La Colombe is one of only a few places that oblige for a special, yet simple request: a iced oat milk cortado. For those that this is foreign - a cortado is a latte with less milk, but is generally only made hot. Some coffeeshops refuse to make an "iced cortado," whereas the baristas at La Colombe never have even questioned it.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop! Friendly baristas, tasty espresso, and overall good vibes. Only negative is that it's packed on weekend mornings, but if you find yourself here on a weekday or after the morning rush, it was not disappoint! I usually get a hot or iced latte, but they currently have a strawberry latte special that I just had to share with fellow yelpers - subtle taste and not too sweet which to me makes for the perfect balance of flavor in my coffee!

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood for work and needed some caffeine. Man, was it hard to find this place! I thought it was going to lead me to a dead end or something. A bit worrisome too as some cars were coming in and out as I walked through the alley looking for the store. Coffee wise - it's alright. Got a hot vanilla latte with regular milk. Was nearly $6. The store is really small and it was super crowded at around 9 AM. I definitely think they need to put more signs at both entrances of the alley to direct people here.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Cute alley. Good selection of coffees and teas. Also had a great pour over.

Rw F.

Yelp
Coffee is ok. Don't come if you must have parking because it is very tight and rare especially on a weekday. Nice area for those concerned about the vibe. I'm here for the coffee which isn't bad but not particularly good unless you're only after milk flavored with coffee. Service is poor. Not friendly and they don't really try to find out what you're looking for in coffee. They don't ask if it's to go or to drink there.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to get work done! Their nitro cold brew latte is one of my favorites. Ample seating and outlets during the week, but no wifi so bring your hotspot. The people who work here are super kind and I love the natural lighting!
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
Coffee was Fine, But pricey. The Barista taking our order rushed us which wasn't very nice. There was also a bird in the shop which a guy had to move because he was getting pooped on. Im sure its not always this bad but we didnt have a good time at all.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
So good!! Came in after brunch for a pick me up and got the draft oat milk latte with a vanilla bean biscotti cookie. I really wanted something sweet but not too sweet so the dipping the biscotti in the coffee was really the perfect combo. I highly recommend a draft latte, the consistency is SO smooth and the temperature was just perfect. I so badly want a La Colombe to come to my city because of this visit. It will be a must stop at any city with La Colombe!

Yelp
La Colombe in Blagden Alley Review: Cozy Spot with Great Coffee La Colombe in Blagden Alley is a nice, cozy spot for coffee lovers. It is small with limited seating, but the coffee is good, and the staff and service are friendly. There is Wi-Fi available, though charging ports are limited. It's a great place to grab a coffee and relax, but be prepared for a compact space and potential seating challenges.
google avatar

Autumn Sky B.

Yelp
Highly recommend the on tap oat milk latte draft - super creamy & not something you'll find at every coffee shop. Vanilla latte had beautiful art, hint of sweetness.
google avatar

Cheng Z.

Yelp
This coffee shop is very conveniently located near my Airbnb while in DC for a conference. Oh yes it is very close to the convention center, too! Coffee and pastry were both good quality. I had the oat latte. Also the ambience is cute! I'm sure during not-so-busy hours it serves as a good study place, too!
google avatar

rachel m.

Yelp
Great staff, delicious coffee and ample seating in inside. A go to coffee spot in Chinatown/ MVT!
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
Always had La Colombe coffee in cans but never visited one of their actual coffee shops before! I got the draft oat milk latte as recommended by so many Yelp Elites. I loved every single sip of it! Indeed it was super creamy and smooth. The oat milk flavors as well as the latte/coffee flavors are both very prominent! Its also served cold but without ice which is typically my go-to preference! Their chocolate croissant was pretty standard. Wish I got to try their pumpkin cro-fin (croissant muffin)? Store itself radiated your cute hipster coffee shop vibes with brick walls, black tables, and long bar stool area. Staff were nice to me, but I wish they were more patient in explaining different drink options to others who may not know as much about coffee? La Colombe offers a wide range of coffee options and honestly as a frequent coffee shop visitor I was still a little intimidated. La Colombe is clearly really proud of their attention to the technicality of coffee making, but I wish that information was more accessible/available in a welcoming way to those who want to learn more. Overall, love their fancy coffee and hope they can reach more people with their yummy drinks!
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
Stopped in for a decaf vanilla latte, and was pleasantly surprised with the high quality drink I was served. Their decaf is a little darker and more earthy tasting that I'm used to, but it made for a really nice change, and complemented the vanilla syrup well. They were very busy when I stopped in, but I was served my drink surprisingly quickly. I also love that they have both still and sparkling water for free. They don't have a ton of seating, so if you'd like to sit inside, aim for an off time.

Yelp
BEST OAT MILK LATTE I'VE EVER HAD. This place has an oat milk latte ON TAP. It was creamy with smooth bubbles and not bitter. As soon as I took my first sip, I immediately decided I'm coming here every time I'm in DC. The location is tucked away in an alley and seems like a local spot, which I like. I do not recommend the pastries though. I got a croissant and it was doughy and tough. Just get their coffee and you will be super happy.
google avatar

Ailun H.

Yelp
Wow! I love the exterior of the La Colombe! It's tucked away in an alley and is super aesthetic. My friend and I came here after brunch and got the draft latte. It's super creamy and delicious, perfect for non-sweet tooth people as it is not super sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink and bought a box of beans. The baristas were nice and polite. The indoors isn't super spacious but that's because they are socially distancing tables which is a plus. I feel like a lot of establishments don't really do that nowadays so I'm glad this La Colombe location did so. Definitely one of my favorite coffee chains and wish they had a location in NoVa!
google avatar

Trisha S.

Yelp
I came here in the morning before a conference at the nearby convention center. It was a pleasant surprise! I have heard about this brand from their pre packaged cold coffees. The location of this shop is in a cute alley with graffiti. I ordered a latte. My friends ordered an oat milk cold brew and drip coffee. The best drink was the dark roast drip coffee! It had a very unique taste. The ambiance was very tranquil and it was a beautiful shop. The service was also very efficient.
google avatar

Yelp
A friend and I stopped by this location of La Colombe for a caffeine pick me up after brunch a couple of weeks ago. Good, quick service and good coffee - what's not to like? This location did seem smaller than the other DC location I've been to, but it has a cool alley location. Not a bad place to stop by for a coffee if you're in the area.
google avatar

Kyle D.

Yelp
La Colombo coffee is super delicious! I have had their pre made coffee from grocery stores but it's even better in person! The cafe is a cute little spot to grab and go or to sit for a little. The tables are small(arguably for 1 person) but that didn't stop the wife and I during our coffee date! I highly recommend the Iced Red Eye and the Chai Latte here! I also recommend you take a stroll in the alleyway to enjoy the murals!
google avatar

Logen F.

Yelp
I love going to this location because of the great atmosphere. The workers are always so friendly and talkative. I always feel welcome. I only wish they had wifi so I could work from there. The drinks are good and you can tell they care to make them well.
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Hard to find, but eventually found way there via an ally. I had black coffee with cream. It was ok. Better than Starbucks. People who like strong coffee will like it, I prefer more mild taste. The workers were very nice.

Tom P.

Yelp
Coffee was fine, girl in the blue rainbow hat SUCKS. No hello, no smile, no you're welcome, total energy vampire. Made me want to walk out without even ordering. Booooo
google avatar

Jorge Z.

Yelp
Great location with friendly staff. great selection of pastries as well. Inside seating is a little limited because of the pandemic.
google avatar

Icarian H.

Yelp
Good Americano. Only comes in 12 oz (which I'm not used to). But I get it, they want the espresso dose/hot water to meet a certain standard that they have in their view. When in Rome...well executed shots and crema. Take my angry upvote. Good ambiance in a tucked away alley.
google avatar

Patrick L.

Yelp
Almond milk latte - dreamy! Clean, organized & efficient shop. Coffee is warmer than the service; a smile and a bit of warmth/friendliness could easily push La Colombe to 5 stars (In all fairness, I visited during a holiday weekend, so I get it). Prices are fine for a high quality product. LOVE the location, Blagden Alley is cool! 4.5 stars
google avatar

Jovete E.

Yelp
Hip, boutique style coffee shop located in Blagden Alley and it was Yummy! I ordered a draft latte and enjoyed every single sip. It was perfect. The ambiance is cute, we chilled here for a while planning out our day. I could've stayed here longer but the art in the alleys drove me out of here to explore and take pictures. I liked this place so much I looked up their other locations and apparently they have 5 in California. San Diego, Beverly Hills and 3 locations in LA. I can't wait to go here again and have other people go with me to try it.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
Came on a Monday morning right when they opened and it place was empty! Ordered right away. Got an iced chai and a chocolate croissant. The chai was great - very flavorful. The croissant was just OK - wasn't flaky like I hope for with croissant, and probably would have been better heated up. Would for sure come back to try other things though!
google avatar

Runzer W.

Yelp
Good! Just the taste that I want. (However, this district is quite with only several passerby people, which seems to be a little scary lol)

Eliot S.

Yelp
Delicious coffee. We love the La Colombe coffee in cans and bottles but it's so much better here!
google avatar

Kajal M.

Yelp
I loved the chai latte here! First time I got the perfect amount of sugar I expected!! The ambience is nice! We sat outside on the bench! Inside was a lil cold

Addison F.

Yelp
No wifi at this coffee shop. I don't come here to do work unless you are planning on using a personal hotspot

Cristina V.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, welcoming and friendly baristas. Delicious coffee!! We even got some whole beans to brew at home.
google avatar

Meili L.

Yelp
This location seems more legit because it's inside the alley! Look the red bricks on the outside look. We were here for the Holiday night market, and decided to stop by for a cup of hot chocolate. The price is reasonable. I am glad the cashier told us that the hot cocoa is unsweetened. However, once they made it we can add syrup to it. Once you placed your order, you slide down the bar and wait for your beverage. They put a plate and spoon at the standing bar for you to fix your beverage and the service was very quick. The cocoa was silky smooth, sweetness on point. Highly recommend to have this cup in hand while shopping around
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
I'll keep this review nice and short: Location 5/5: very unique location and hidden away. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. There are some art murals around which I thought was cool. Enjoy a cup of joe while you browse the art! Coffee 5/5: Never had Colombe Coffee except from trader joe's but the coffee is excellent. Although the barista sucked at the presentation, I thought the coffee was still good and worth coming back to Service 3/5: baristas were nice for the most part, but I didn't like how I had to wait in the front for someone to help me order. I instead had to walk to the back and ask if someone was working the front in order to get my order in. The barista who served me could also practice more with the latte art. Presentation matters!
google avatar

Martina T.

Yelp
Coffee is really good and the pastries excellent. Not the cheapest coffee shop, but prices average for Fishtown. Staff are efficient and friendly. Wish they had Wi-Fi - such a nice space to work from! It's kid friendly, which is a plus for early morning on weekends.
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Great coffee house. My favorite is the cortado. A bit of a different vibe from other coffee places. I feel like the quality of the coffee is superior. Not as industrial feeling as some of the other coffee places. The bari know what they're talking about and they have free water too. Always a bonus.
google avatar

Drace L.

Yelp
A wonderful double espresso and Vitality shot. Great place to relax, down the alley and tucked back a bit. Beautiful latte to go to sip and walk along the streets.
google avatar

Vicki K.

Yelp
A little more than I like to spend on coffee but it was really great. The cafe is bright and cute. One of the best parts is it is in an ally with really cool murals. Definitely a good date spot if that's what you are looking for.

Olivia O.

Yelp
This place was great and was so cute on the outside! Barista helped me pick out a drink and the coffee was great too. Would definitely recommend if you don't have one of these usually in your area.
google avatar

Angela H.

Yelp
La Colombe is my favorite coffee shop in nyc, hands down. The ambience and vibe of the cafe upon walking in is like no others regardless fo location. Every employee is knowledgeable and so efficient. Lines get long, but I'm never left wiating more than 5min, as they will take your order before you get to the paying point. Once you pay, your drink will be out within minutes. My go to is always the almond cappuccino in the winter months and the cold brew in the summerS. Both are so delicious and especially well made. They never sacrifice on quality, and I've been to many of their locations in the states Phenomenal brand and coffee, and I love that I can pick up thei products at Whole Foods and other convenience stores around the city!
google avatar

Ana L.

Yelp
Came in and had to wait for them to finish their conversation so I could order. Everyone was greeted upon walking in, except for me. $7 for foam?? When my drink was ready, I was confused and accidentally grabbed the wrong one. They looked at me as if I was stupid and murdered someone. Unfortunately the only nice person helping customers wasnt here when I ordered/ came in. I wish they were since they are making suggestions and seem approachable.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
I am a coffee snob. I will always go to coffee shops to find a good cup of coffee. I do not like flavours in coffee unless it is chocolate. So I saw this place was close by and wandered over. I found it to be your usual coffee shop. Drip coffees espressos, lattes, etc. They also have a few pastries ie. cinnamon rolls and scones ( the hard triangular type ). I got the drip coffees the Corsica and Mexican Sierra Sur . I found them to be well roasted but the flavour to me was a little too acidic. It was similar to your cheaper grocery store coffee. I did not feel like finishing my coffee.
google avatar

Marlon T.

Yelp
How have draft lattes not made their way to other snobby coffee shops around the world? Maybe they have and I'm just not well-traveled enough to know. Anyway, if you want your life to change with a coffee-based drink, you must get a draft latte and sit around to enjoy the ambience. There is no wifi here, but there are some power outlets to charge whatever device. This place is not ideal for huge groups because of the limited seating. It's a great place to meet for a date or something. I like how this location is somewhat hidden down an alleyway with flanking brick-walled buildings fit for selfies. Impress someone by bringing them here for a delicious draft latte!
