Google
We have found La Colombe products at other coffee shops but this is the first time I have seen a dedicated La Colombe store. Here at Gate E8 Terminal E in Philadelphia, they fill out the menu with several smoothies, sandwiches served on baquettes, muffins, breakfast stuff, and croissants to accompany the coffee concoctions. I chose a turkey, bacon, avocado on French baguette although the more unique Ham and Butter baguette was in the running. The macchiato highlights the turkey, bacon, and avocado. I received Excellent service here. This place has Open venue with accessible pickup counter. No background music, just people. You can find accessible men’s, women’s, and family restrooms in central areas of airport. Accessible van parking is available in paid airport.

I went to this terminal instead of F because the line in F was quite long and not moving too fast. I ordered a large iced dirty chai tea latte and an almond croissant, they had my drink ready before I could finish paying and my croissant by the time I was done. The croissant was flakey, lightly sweet and delicious- the chai had light spice, they accommodated my need for oat milk and it was nice and icy (which is great because the E-F connector was toasty). The staff was kind, made eye contact, asked follow up questions to ensure everything was what I wanted, and even though I was one of many they made me feel like I was the only one there and not just another coffee order. I travel often and will be sure to stop again on my next layover/flight! 😋 (The croissant is not pictured because I ate it)

Google
Your prices should NOT be obscured by the sign clip!! Move em over to properly display the food menu item. Bakery here is very good! But what’s the cost!???

Google
I ordered an Italian sandwich today. They took my order. After waiting for almost 29 min they said they don’t have the Italian one and then I had to take a chicken sandwich. The staff got mad of me just because I said “why the took my first order”. That the Italian sandwich was more expensive than a chicken one. I event left 15% tip. They wanted to return my money “just because”. They don’t even care if I really needed to have some food due to my diabetes. One of the star tried to make me look bad in-front of the other people. I was not loud. Three of them were loud. I felt so embarrassed

Google
A bit pricey, as is everything in the country and especially in airports. I will say that it was a large portion of coffee than normal I ordered a medium Americano. I didn't bother with the pastries because i know they would not be quality but yeah. Service was OK. The lady at the register messed up my order but they fixed it workout a fuss.

Google
Absolutely horrendous establishment. Used to be much better. They are known for a signature draft latte which is supposed to be frothy and light but instead I was given an absolutely stale iced coffee. The workers were incredibly slow and not understanding. Don't waste a dime here.

Nala

Google
$12.79 for two drinks: Small a regular coffee & a small mocha ice coffee. They don’t put any cream or sugar in it for you’d just kinda pour and give it to you.. So we did that portion ourselves. Coffee was okay… could be better.

Phillip Lasley

Google
“They had to be reminded to even make the drink” and the $7.50 iced latte tasted like 7-Eleven coffee. Very happy with my purchase 🙂‍↔️

Yelp
Overall, pretty decent coffee spot. Food was actually really really good. I had the bagel with lox and cream cheese. Service was super quick and efficient didn't really get to have a conversation with the guy, but he was banging out 14 people without a sweat ambience was traditional airport coffee space.

Wendy R.

Yelp
After a 10 hour flight, we were looking forward to a coffee/ tea and a bagel. Well you can avoid this place. We ordered large regular coffee, a large chia Latte and a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese. I was barely given a medium chia latte. When I asked about ordering a large, the guy said "I already made it......" then he threw in "that was what you ordered" . I said "No, it wasn't" but at that point I just accepted my fate of getting ripped off. It wasn't until we walked away that we found that the bagel was burnt. They screw you at this airport joint with poor quality food, high prices ($18) and very poor service. They just don't #%*#%^ care.....NEXT!

Yelp
Wow it is sad how bad they have become. I travel every week through PHL and looked forward to coming home and grabbing a non st&$@&cks and a pastry. The last several times that I got it, the pastry was stale and the coffee was lukewarm. The most upsetting part was the staff was one of the friendlier in the airport. Now you get a grunt in between them texting. I think it is saddest when such a great place goes bad. I miss it

Caitlin L.

Yelp
This was my first time ordering food and drinking something other than coffee at La Colombe. I was very disappointed in the lox bagel and Matcha that I had ordered. Perhaps it was bad because it's in the airport and the employees might not have put their best time and effort into my order. My bagel did not taste fresh, and my matcha tasted like it came from an instant packet. Too sweet with an awful color. The service was relatively fast despite the long line. I don't think I will order matcha from La Colombe ever again as this might have been the worst that I've ever tried.

Will P.

Yelp
Pretty good. Went to two PHL locations. Terminal A and E. Staff friendly at both locations. Coffee was well above average for an airport location and recommend over DD @ PHL which I also tried. Got a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant ($10). Hot fresh and again above average for airport. 4 stars recommended.

Beth C.

Yelp
If I could give ZERO stars I most definitely would. This was the WORST coffee house experience EVER! Incompetent and lazy employees who deliver wrong orders, under filled drinks, and burnt bagels. The prevailing attitude is apathetic and appalling. $20 for this crap. Their vendor's license should be revoked! Avoid this place!!

Kate F.

Yelp
The La Colombe in terminal A had just the pick-me-up I needed before I boarded my flight. They have the best coffee in the city as well as some beautiful pastries. The line here can get long, but the service is still quick. In addition to traditional coffee they have specialty coffees, and featured drinks like a beet root latte and a matcha latte. You can also get a sandwich or non-pastry breakfast items

Steff D.

Yelp
How do you, La Colombe (roasters of "top rated coffees", whose motto is "America deserves better coffee") not have any iced coffee available at 10am in the morning? When we ordered, we were told "no iced coffee, no cold coffee, nothing" - direct quote. I think the cashier probably could have at least pointed to the cans of draft latte available in their grab-n-go case (not that we would have bought one, as there were no black or oat milk options), but this cashier just shut us down completely, didn't ask if wanted anything different or anything else, and literally called for the next person in line. They weren't busy: there were three employees working, two people waiting for their order, us, and the people behind us. Worst coffee-at-an-airport-experience I've ever had.

Christine C.

Yelp
This happens to be one of my favorite airport coffee spots. I actually look forward to flying so I can get their black and tan special - a mix between their draft latte and pure black cold brew. The only issue, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, is that they are sometimes out of the black and tan. This happened to me this morning and I was oddly sad. They have good food options too - I like the avocado toast, it's a decent portion and tastes fresh for airport food.

Riya P.

Yelp
Got to try La Colombe for the first time and see what all the hype was about. The shop is located in Terminal E and the line is continuously wrapping. I got a medium white chocolate latte and it was delicious. It was very creamy and rich with the perfect amount of sweetness. It definitely lived up to its hype. The workers however were clearly stressed and had mishaps with orders left and right.

Sebastien L.

Yelp
Went there landing in Philadelphia last week as I had connection flight thru that Airport going to Nashville and seen this nice looking place and was Hungry so decided to give a try and Got myself A Ham butter and cheese baguette with a Strawberry banana smoothie with Apple Juice in it and was delicious. Employee was very sweet ,nice and professional but you also could see he likes his job

Amy T.

Yelp
Bagel with creamcheese is extremely filled and just ok. Vanilla iced latte is tasty and would order it again.

Luke W.

Yelp
For the crazy airport life this place rocks! Wish I caught her name, the barista had it down to java science. No one expects tasty or quality or consistency at an airport but La Colombe did me great with a flavor filled caramel latte before my flight and served up dairy alternative too for a good price. There's not much atmosphere here like most runway restaurants, no matter. I downed the beverage too quick not because I needed caffeine, was mixed well and balanced the sweet and bitter right. Big win here!

D M.

Yelp
Ordered a coffee and croissant this morning while waiting for flight. The croissants "looked" good in the case. When I bit into it, it's obvious it was stale and probably left over from yesterday. Or, perhaps they source them from a baker who baked it yesterday. The coffee was surprisingly sour tasting. Not sure if it is the signature blend or if I am just not used to the regular coffee they serve. Regardless, I threw away my croissant and finished only about a quarter of the cup of coffee before tossing. I don't recommend the place if you are looking for fresh food and decent coffee.

Laur C.

Yelp
Where we live, there are very few stores that carry this coffee, so to find a actual coffee shop in the Philadelphia airport was a wonderful surprise. This spot is in Terminal E. We had a couple lattes and the taste of this coffee bean is wonderful! They also had bagels and locks in breakfast items, but we only had coffee. Fast service& easy pick up at the end of the coffee bar.

Amatullah B.

Yelp
I have visited this location as well as the other PHL location multiple times. They never have the beet root latte and this last time, when I asked for matcha instead I was told they didn't even have that. At this point, they should just remove the beet latte from the menu. I would recommend asking for less cream cheese and would avoid the croissants, today I was served one that was hard like it had been sitting out for days. This is a disappointing representation of La colombe and results in a poor customer experience and impression of the brand, particularly when paired with the airport mark ups.

Ray S.

Yelp
Avoid the Terminal East location in PHL. They are staffed with the most unhelpful, unfriendly, and unprofessional staff. It's quite surprising how this location is not closed for sanitation with food laying all over the floor, dirt on the counters and plates.

Jenny T.

Yelp
The draft latte was VERY average... I mean I guess it is airport quality lol. It didn't taste like La Colombe coffee I had in downtown Philly for sure. The outside was pretty though - and line wasn't too long either for an airport coffee store (lol in comparison with Dunks/Starbs in other airports). Fyi this one is by Gate A13.

Sarah L.

Yelp
I ordered a latte and avocado toast. Waited 20 mins and noticed 3-4 people after had gotten their food so I asked the girl where my toast was and she said she was gonna make it. Waited another 10 mins, she disappeared. I asked the guy if my toast was done. He said "maybe she forgot about it" and continued on. Not once did they apologize or ask if I had the time to wait. My flight was calling for final call and I had to leave without getting my toast which I waited 30 mins for. They have no empathy! Refund me!

Victoria K.

Yelp
The coffee was good. It was nice to see some food offerings outside of the typical. I tried the avocado toast which was a bit difficult to eat with plastic utensils (I ended up lifting and eating with my hands), and I thought it had way too much hot pepper and not enough salt. I would happily stop here again for the coffee, but might try something else (like a breakfast sandwich of some kind) and see if I have better luck with that.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
seriously, the best tasting smoothest well-balanced well bodied robust yet not over the top amazing coffee it's my go to place. It's a little pricier than most, but believe me worth every stinking penny they did interesting thing with their cans single serve iced coffees that you can find in any of your local grocery or convenience store locations. There's something about the way you have to open up the tab on the can will you'll see just read the back of it. It will explain the brilliance in just opening. The can in itself is a thing of awe and wondermew, transcending the coffee to another level.

Dylan C.

Yelp
I've never had such a bad experience trying to get food before, much less at a come-and-go shop. The employees ignored us for a while, and then when they finally asked us what we wanted, never looked up at us and just mumbled they couldn't serve us despite someone ordering right before us. Again, without looking up, they just walked away and left us confused. Unacceptable behavior - ended up going to the Chick-Fil-A a minute's walk away.

Yes R.

Yelp
What happened here? Used to be my fave place. Now it's just gross. My fave capresse sandwich is now a stale sandwich, with rancid pesto and skimpy mozzarella.

John A.

Yelp
I ordered the Chicken Santa Fe. Toasted. Absolutely terrible. Chicken was still cold. It lacked the "chipotle spread" that it was supposed to come with. When I went back to the counter I was told that all of their sandwiches are premade.

William C.

Yelp
Very. Very. Very. Slow. More folks behind the counter than in line. Like watching people work in slow mo.

John Michael S.

Yelp
Just saying the La Colombe at terminal A near gate 3...the staff knows how to move a line. No one seemed stressed, and they were kind. They should be applauded on how to move people so fast. Legit praise them

John P.

Yelp
Pan au raisen great Coffee: worst drip I've had in years. Tastes burnt. Only giving a second star for the bread.

Camille T.

Yelp
Delicious coffee!! I was super excited that they had decaf lattes available (it sounds like an oxymoron) but not everyone has decaf. The avocado toast was very good, but too much black pepper on top. My lips were burning for a while afterwards!! But overall, for a quick stop at the airport, it was a great find!

Luis P.

Yelp
I was traveling through Philadelphia airport and decided to stop for a raisin pastry before boarding my plane. As I started to eat it a metal tooth crown was in my pastry. OMG!!!! Just to be clear it was not mine. I saved it but I won't be coming back to Philadelphia until November. Makes you wonder where these pastries are made and who is making them. They didn't miss their crown. If you're looking for it you left it in my food! Disgusting!!!!

Ava S.

Yelp
The one poor employee was fighting for his life back there. They were out of seemingly everything, despite being open for four more hours. Every person in front of me was told at least one thing from their order wasn't available. Food came out warm, wasn't fantastic and barely any cream cheese. Given the price I paid, they couldn't funded having a back up for the guy, which would have made the wait shorter for mediocre food. In the B terminal, definitely avoid.

Jason D.

Yelp
I'm here every other week on average. Service is always lackluster. No smiles here. Lines always long. Coffee is fine, pastries often dry.

John G.

Yelp
Incredible coffee and a good selection of food and snacks. This is the one place we always visit every time we're at the airport! Their light-roast drip coffee is stunning, with the same amount of flavor I get at home making Lavazza Oro espresso. It's just an amazing spectrum of flavor notes! Note:!this is with just a teaspoon (5ml) of cream--any more than that will destroy the taste.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Chai latte was on great, I ordered a 16 oz latte and it came out piping hot. Choice of oat milk and regular whole milk were offered. Friendly staff, minimal wait time when I went. There was a wide array of baked goods for sale.

Tammy T.

Yelp
I rarely write reviews, but the service this morning was so offensive, I am taking time to write this review in case the business owners or manager at the airport location of La Colombe ever reads reviews. Specifically, the woman working the register the morning shift today around 7 am was unnecessarily rude. I had a voucher because I got stuck here in Philly last night due to airline delays. I tried to use it, and instead of politely explaining why she "could not" accept a voucher, if that was even true, she was rude and came off as though she was lying and simply refusing because she was either being lazy, did not know how, or simply did not feel like it. I worked customer service for years and have run my own food service businesses, and if my employee treated customers the way she treated me this morning, she would be reprimanded formally for cause. The other employees were great, though, and the decaf coffee was good too.

Aly W.

Yelp
Fast food in the airport has really stepped up a bit! The bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant was just what I needed for a pick me up! I am not personally a coffee drinker, but a girlfriend of mine is and said that she really enjoyed the coffee from there. I could see that my bacon egg and cheese biscuit was premade and they popped it in the oven but that did not detract from how delicious it was. There were two ladies working and both were friendly. They had an array of smoothies, dry danishes, hot meals, fresh OJ, and more. I was traveling in a group and my other friend also got the bacon egg and cheese danish and enjoyed it. Her husband had the chai and said it was solid.

Jen L.

Yelp
I used to love La Colombe at PHL, 10-15 years ago. Now it has a bigger kiosk but the surliest employees, surprisingly weak coffee and mediocre food.

Ronda A.

Yelp
Being in North Carolina, sadly my access to a La Colombe is limited. Due to this, when I'm in one of the 7 cities that have storefronts I always make a stop. La Colombe has tasty treats, food and most importantly high QUALITY coffee!! Luckily I've had to travel through the Philadelphia airport for work, and got my fix. They have draft lattes (yes lattes, NOT coffee) and it is incredibly delicious. Additionally, you can never go wrong with their breakfast sandwiches (salmon lox is my go-to) and/or any of their pastries. ⁣If you're in Austin, Boston, California, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and DC - go give them a shot! xoxo, @rondaexplores

Sheree P.

Yelp
This place is mediocre at best. The staff were busy but not very courteous to customers. The young lady rang up my order then walked away while I stood there waiting to pay. Finally paid with a debit card because I got tired of waiting for her to come back. I ordered a caramel latte and it was burnt. They don't warm up their pastries. Not worth waiting in line for. This the shop at the intersection of gate C, A, and B at the Philadelphia airport.

Briana H.

Yelp
Service was quick...which is about the only good thing I have to say about this location. We were looking forward to having one last La Colombe draft latte before leaving Philly, but fam this is not it. Unlike the other locations they served it with ice and the taste was just off...not to mention the pour was mostly foam. Disappointing to say the least, wish I had ordered a regular latte or something instead. Whatever you do, don't order the draft latte here.

Kiley G.

Yelp
Lovely little airport location store. Very quick and friendly staff!! I am a huge fan of La Colombe coffee, as a have a can every morning from my local grocery store! So happy to try my favorite coffee from its OG spot. Core memory!!

John E.

Yelp
Employees with attitude. If I saw the condiment counter first, I never would have stopped for a coffee at la colombe.

Janie D.

Yelp
La Colombe is a Philadelphia coffee roaster, famous nationwide for their silky smooth draft lattes, and high quality single origin beans. Unlike their ultra-hip cafes in the city, this airport location has an actual menu. Said menu includes items the other cafes do not offer, such as Acai bowls and pre-made sandwiches. Do not expect a bakery case brimming with beautiful viennoiserie like at other La Colombe locations. At PHL, the baked goods are more akin to those you'll find at Costco. Hungry and desperate, I ordered an Egg and Cheese Croissant, which was so bland it was barely edible. The croissant was dense, and bone dry. Fortunately, the coffee was still excellent. I love their Black & Tan, which is equal parts draft latte and pure black cold brew. The drink is richly creamy, with bold flavors and no acidity. At PHL, definitely opt for La Colombe over Starbucks, but skip the food and stick to coffee.

Paul S.

Yelp
La Colombe 8500 Essington Ave, Philadelphia PA 19153 (AKA Philly Airport) October 17, 2021 Sunday - 7:15 AM for breakfast before my flight 1 Adult Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 2 stars Service - 1 stars Background - Time to head home after my business trip via the Philly airport.  There must be half dozen of these La Colombe pastry coffee shops in the airport. Atmosphere - I passed several La Colombe on my way to Gate A12.  Typical fast food stall in an airport or mall.  Walk up and get in line to place your order.  While in line you can grab a cold drink and view all their pastries and sandwiches. Food Coffee - I had a medium Mocha, not a large as that was not an option on the menu board.  Probably a good thing that the large was not an option as the coffee tasted watered down.  Almost as if when you are kid and put the hot chocolate packet on top and do pour job stirring the packet into the milk.  Overpowering goodness fading quickly to blah, that was my coffee today. Breakfast sandwich - Like I said you get to walk pass their display case and I saw the Philly Special.  After seeing the Philly I changed my mind from what I was going to select from the board, the Egg White Sandwich.  I was denied the Philly Special, as they were out.  So back to my original idea of the Egg White Sandwich, which comes with a sausage patty and eggs on a multigrain bread.  After finishing my order, the cashier informed me they were out of multigrain bread and my sandwich will be made with a croissant.  Strike two just on my sandwich, and I did not feel like finding a third choice.  I am not a big fan of croissants but the ones in the display case looked soft and flaky. The way you would want your croissant to be.  My croissant was flatten to death and over buttered, making for oily messy hands after finishing the sandwich.  Glad I grabbed extra napkins. Service - The cashier, must have been a supervisor or manager.  But no customer service skills.  Walked away from me multiple times to explain to the staff what they were doing wrong.  So when you run out of item from the display case, remove it, so people like me do not try to order the item.  You run out the Philly Special and Multigrain bread at 7:15 in the morning, what time did you open?  Seems like poor stocking of items for today's breakfast rush.  Simple things make a big difference in the customer satisfaction. Clearly the business in not proud of their airport locations as the website is missing this information. Future - At this point Dunkin might be a better choice for a quick bite at the Philly airport. Milestone - 29 states, and 6 countries with my reviews, and my first in Pennsylvania.  Hopefully more.

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
What a great place for a quick pick-me-up! Had a wide selection of savory and sweet food. I got an iced latte and was exactly how I wanted it to taste. The employees were attentive and friendly as well! I will definitely be coming back here whenever I'm at PHL again.

Ren N.

Yelp
Excellent little take out window/booth with a small selection of bakery products and salads to take with your drink. There were a good selection of coffee, latte, expresso to choose from, I've never heard of this brand but looked as good as Starbucks so decided to give it a try. Did some research and found out it's a local coffee roaster company, really enjoyed a solid cup of regular coffee with cream and sugar while waiting for my flight. Highly recommend over McDonald's coffee. Just as good and slightly cheaper than starbucks

Joan L.

Yelp
Typical airport standard cafe. Got a kale smoothie & chocolate croissant. The croissant was good, though I didn't realize it wasn't toasted until after I left. It seemed fresh though. The kale smoothie was also great. The service was super slow and unfriendly.

Gregory H.

Yelp
The lady at the counter i is cool she's been there for a while , however, the chai lattes are super weak. Bought 1 a few weeks back and it tasted like a cup of warm milk. Tried it again today and seen the guy splash a small drop of pre mixed cheap chai into a tall glass of almond milk . I'm done with these sheisters. So much for quality latte.

Tina K.

Yelp
Ordered an Italian sandwich at terminal E Philadelphia International Airport, and wanted an espresso. The machine was down so I just took the sandwich. Paid in cash, was not given my change back and the guy at the register took my money, pulled the register out and walked away. The next employee came over and looked at me and asked what I was waiting for, rather rudely. Then he walked away. The girl behind the counter just stood there and when I asked her to just refund my money, she said he went to go get gloves so she could make my sandwich. When I went to eat my sandwich, it was a turkey sandwich. Went back and told them I wanted my money back, the guy told me no, he would make me the correct sandwich. I told him no, I wanted my money. He went to the back and got my money, but only brought out the exact price of the sandwich, not the amount I paid seeing I did not get change! I will NEVER go back to this establishment again! If I could give zero star rating I would.

Darya S.

Yelp
La Colombe always kills it, even at an airport. I got their oat cappuccino, and it was delicious. So smooth and airy, yet full of flavor of both the milk and the beans, not to mention so foamy! They know how to make a quality cup of coffee, no matter where they are. The Asian guy who made it for us was really nice, too! I wish LC would expand to Phoenix and up the coffee scene here!
