Cute cafe, good food, nice area near parc Monceau. Main dishes ranged from 15-30€, pretty standard for the quartier. I had some reading to do so I settled in for a long late lunch with a glass of Sancerre and a plate of risotto with asparagus and peas. The staff was very attentive and obliging and didn't mind at all that I lingered for over two hours. The risotto was soft and delicious, neither overcooked and mealy nor undercooked and hard. Moreover, it was a generous portion-- I had thought about dessert, but decided against it. The weather was beautiful, so the terrace was active, but not crowded. I finished off my meal with two cappuccinos (to keep myself focused on my rather dry legal texts) and while the presentation was a little lackluster, the quality was solid.
One (important) caveat, which hasn't impacted my rating but of which I think future patrons should be aware: the bathroom door will lock, but won't unlock from the inside. I spent several terrified moments locked inside the stall before I called the restaurant. The waitress told me not to worry about it and a waiter soon appeared to pick the lock with a butter knife. They seemed absolutely unconcerned, as though that were a nonevent, an everyday occurrence. Absolutely surreal.
