La Cova was a RED ZONE Friday night delivery for us. I’ve been to the actual restaurant a few times and was always impressed and we were eager to see if their delivery could hold up. It sure did!!! Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We can’t recommend it enough to change things up and add a different spice to your aperitivo/meal!!

Excellent tapas. Chicken skewers and chorizo smoked sausages were fantastic. Vegetarian eggplant meatballs and corn flake fried cod, another win! Good wine, nice music, small but ambience is great. Staff is friendly and attentive.

We walked by this place on the way to Gusta Pizza, recommended by Guy Fieri. The line at Gusta was bad and we went back to the tapas bar. I am thankful that we did!! We had so many wonderful small plates of food. We were able to try lots of new things. The Cava Sangria was the best I have ever had. We were so pleased with the food and drinks . Don't pass the place by, go in and enjoy it all!!!

Google
This place is underrated!! We decided to order all of their vegetarian tapas & let me tell you - they did not disappoint. 8-9 tapas between 2 people is actually standard and we highly recommend ordering a good amount. The food & service - bravo! Add this place to your list & check it out for yourself - so good!

I had read lotsnof reviews about the restaurant and I was so excited. I am from Spain and I wanted to eat some Spanish Tapas, first thing: nobody spoke Spanish, which was a bit disappointing; second of all, tapas were quite small and pricey in relation to the quantity and the quality. The waitress was nice and the service was fast, but I missed spanish flavour and also it was super overpriced. I don’t think I would repeat.

Looked Spanish, felt Spanish, tasted Spanish! A lovely little gem, tucked away on a side street in one of the quieter parts of town. Don't be fooled if it looks a little empty from the street, most of the seating is hidden from view. Not a big place so maybe call ahead but it's well worth it, the food was ace!

Really good. All the tapas we tried were perfect, I did wish the salsa brava in patatas bravas had a bit more of a kick to it, but it was still very good. The music was awesome, to suddenly hear Estopa music was great!

Yelp
This was a great alternative to traditional Italian food after being in Florence for a week. Spanish tapas seem to draw a more local crowd. There was seating at a small bar, small high boy tables in the front, and traditional table seating in the back (past the kitchen). Sangria was yummy, with a full cinnamon stick but no fruit slices. In any case, I'd recommend a liter for two people. Service was great. They didn't mind that we took our time. I never felt rushed. By 9pm there was a wait, so come early. Not a great place for large groups, but parties of 4 or less won't have a problem.

Yelp
We really liked this place! My husband was on the fence because he wanted to have a bigger meal but we ordered plenty to satisfy our hunger! Lol Food was yummy with perfect amount of spices and flavor. We also had Sangria to drink and it was so good!

Yelp
We really loved this place! Brand new Spanish tapas style bar/restaurant in Oltrarno just a couple steps from Palazzo Pitti. We were greeted warmly and given a cute little high top table in the front room. Decor and ambience is lovely with warm handmade and decorated tiles, offset by rustic natural wood. Service was prompt and very friendly. We ordered a combo of little tapas plates. We really loved the calamari, the Camembert lolly with almond and the gamberi (shrimp), but really all the food we ordered was great. They were extra accommodating to my garlic/onion allergy although their mixed olives had garlic in the juice. Would love to see a mix of olives without the marinade/juice. We ordered an inexpensive bottle of Spanish red wine. And we also had a delicious dessert - an almond torte with chocolate sauce. Will likely go back sometime soon. English, Italian and Spanish are spoken here.

Yelp
Barcelona comes to Florence - pleasant surprise across from Piazza Pitti! Great service, reasonable prices, and incredible food. Highlights are cornflake crusted cod, sangria cova, and papas bravas. Check it out after a day of sightseeing!

Yelp
As a tourist when you come to Italy you can't wait to eat ALL the Italian foods ALL the time. And it is glorious. But eventually comes a time when you will shock yourself and you crave non-Italian food. And if you're in Florence, La Cova is THE place you should go to when this happens. My boyfriend and I stopped intended to stop here for just a drink and an appetizer before dinner but ended up staying for 3 hours. Everything we got was so good (jamon serrano, papas y pulpo, pan con tomate, I could go on!). If you're in the mood for a spritzer but don't want to get THE spritz I highly recommend ordering a tinto de verano (red wine & soda). Sounds strange but so refreshing.

Yelp
Great bartender. Food was great per his suggestions. Very quick service. Tapas are served so if you're looking for a hearty full belly of food, you might be at the wrong spot unless you order 4+tapas.

Yelp
Generally very good but some dishes better than others. Baccalao Frito de la Cova (fried cod) was awesome -- we wound up ordering a second. Calamari was excellent (albeit salty) as was the melted cheese with carmelized onion (despite coming with two tiny circles of bread), the chicken skewers, and the shrimp. We're not usually sangria drinkers but loved it -- and wished we had ordered a full liter. Over all very good -- tasty food and a good diversion from typical Florence fare, at reasonable prices.... glad we came.

Yelp
Located right down the street from Pitti Palace. This place was delicious. Not crowded at the peak of lunchtime. I got the smoked salmon with crab salad tapa, the empanadillas, and chicken skewers. All were delicious. We promised each other we wouldn't eat at the same place twice while in Florence, but we're going to have to break that promise for this place. 5 stars all the way!

Yelp
An extremely pleasant surprise - excellent tapas in the middle of Florence, with friendly and prompt service by both the Italian barista and the Andalusian waitress. Highlights include the white sangria, made with cava, the pan amb tomate, and all of the pintxos we tried (e.g., eggs wth truffles, and butifarra with green peppers). The decor and music were also just right (Spanish tiles, and a good "rock en español" soundtrack in the background). There was literally nothing we didn't like.

Yelp
A delicious place for a small bite for tapas. It's a gem in Florence! And the sangria is A1!

Yelp
The food here was very good and we got 6 items for under 25 euros! The place is a very cute hole in the wall with good food and good prices to match. When deciding between the two tapas places in the area, I actually went to the other one first. This one has wider selection. The other is nice, but designed only for seafood lovers.
