"Salty Gelato! If throughout your travels around Italy you've tried every flavor of gelato possible, come to Cremeria Dell'Erbe, where they are experimenting with salty gelato. I sampled the salty pistachio, the salty fruits of the forest, and I cannot WAIT to try the salty red shrimp option - while you can buy a scoop to eat in store, this spin on traditional 'dessert' is meant to be served with main courses (ie the salty pistachio on top of hot pasta, the salty fruits of the forest with raw tuna, etc...). Cremeria Dell'Erbe often partners with a local restaurant to do tasting dinners - so make a point to attend one of these if they are going on during your visit - the flavor is just amazing."

Best lactose free ice cream we tried in Genoa. All the lactose free ice cream is kept in a separate cooler to avoid cross-contamination. They have a variety of flavours - our favourite was the pistachio, which was the best we tried in the city during our one-week stay. Definitely recommend!

Not fancy but super good ice cream!! I had “Milk” and “Chocolate milk”, and I came back in the next day to have it again.

In fact really good ice cream, so much so that we came back for more. The way the person selling reacted when we both wanted the biggest cup was just awful. Earlier when we went the cup wasn't that full, but the taste was great. This time however we got over the top full big cups. Nevertheless the experience was ruined due to feeling guilty and disgusting while eating. Ruined our last night, which is why we wanted more of the good ice-cream to celebrate😕🙁😣

The quality of the ice cream was excellent – really delicious. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly rude and abrupt. I had already decided on my flavors while waiting in line, but the grumpy staff member told me, rather bluntly, that they didn’t fit in a cone. When I quickly tried to choose something else, he grew impatient and started mimicking the sound of a ticking clock. I found that extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Still, credit where it’s due: the ice cream itself was very good!

Best ice cream we found in Genoa, with an option for fresh whipped cream topping. Loved pistachio, milk/dark chocolate chip, salted caramel, hazelnut/white chocolate, & coffee mousse. You can have two flavors in a small! Staff is really welcoming & happy to help.

Overwhelming gelatto!!! They have the best gelatto in Genova in my opinion. The cream is really tasty and you should definitively try the Pistaccio one.

They sprayed us and the rude guy didn't give a damn about us. We were standing in line with other customers and decided to leave. Another issue was that he dropped an ice cream cone and then picked it up and gave it to someone from the ground.

Two scoops of delicious gelato for just three euro, friendly staff, benches outside for people watching, and best of all they had dairy free options that tasted amazing! What more could you ask for?!?

Yelp
The gelato here is SOOOOOOO rich and creamy!!!! It was hard to pick a favorite during our 4 day trip in Genoa but I think this one gets 1st place. It's hidden in an alley but it's worth the dig. You can test out some flavors before picking one, I forgot the name of the flavor of gelato I got but it tasted like a ferrero rocher :)

Yelp
Hands down one of the best gelaterias I've visited throughout my entire Italy trip. Although many gelaterias serve smooth, creamy gelato, not all parlors have their flavors down. I've sampled quite a number of gelato parlors and La Cremeria delle Erbe is definitely on top of my list - for both texture and flavor. We ordered a cup with a scoop of hazelnut and a scoop of the coffee with chocolate. Not only was that the best combination ever, like an ice-cold Ferrero Rocher in my mouth, but they were so jam-packed with authentic flavor! The hazelnut tasted like hazelnut and the coffee with chocolate was exactly what it was supposed to be - coffee with chocolate! Sounds simple but not all ice cream parlors have their recipes down pat like they do. The business itself was also extremely cute, with seats facing mirrors, like a hair salon. Can't wait to return for more gelato, but in the meantime, you should go!

Yelp
Fantastic staff, very friendly and open for conversation. Great gelato selection and yogurt selection for all taste bud preferences. Prices were excellent.

Yelp
This place serves real Italian gelato, nothing even close to that crap you eat outside of Italy. However, even compared to other Italian gelato places, this gelato is great. The place is small, so do not expect to have a full service as if you were in a bar and is not even a fancy place, but it is located right on a pretty square in the heart of the old town of Genova. What better location to taste a good Italian gelato? Prices are good too, above all if compared to American gelato prices. I would definitively reccomend this place.
