La Cucina + Bar

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Food and service were great. We just wished we could have been offered the wine list again.

I ordered a pizza from this Italian restaurant tonight. When I first opened the box, it smelled great — but things quickly went downhill. The pizza was soggy, which was already disappointing. But as I took my first bite, I felt a sharp crunch. I thought maybe it was an olive seed. Took a second bite and felt another sharp crunch — this time it cut my gum, and I realised there were pieces of broken glass in the pizza. I stopped eating immediately and approached the manager. I explained what happened, and instead of showing any concern, he coldly replied, "We don't put broken glass in our pizza." There was no apology, no empathy, and not even an offer to remake it. At that point, I was angry and just asked for a refund — which I got — but honestly, I’m still shaken. Key takeaway: Please double or even triple check your food before eating from this restaurant. What happened to me was serious and could have caused even more harm. I won’t be returning, and I hope this serves as a warning to others.

We decided to have a beautiful family dinner on our trip to Pt. Douglas so my wife went online to book a table for 7:15. When we arrived, our table was waiting but we were advised that we can’t have pizza only pasta ( that I was looking at ordering anyway) but thought pizza for my kids would be a better option. Guy who was serving us said you can have your pizza if we changed our dinner table to somewhere where you have cuban cigars at (the bar area), not appropriate for a dinner. Plus the care factor was zero. Night should not be ruined due to arrogance of this place. I bet If I was old, cashed up and kicked up a fuss that I would get my way… Anyway, food is probably nice, but the service is poor and arrogant. Ended up at The Central Hotel where the service was amazing!

We sat outside in a very pretty and quiet area. Service was excellent and so was our food. My fish was super fresh. Our child wanted plain pasta and although it cost $19 it was cooked to perfection with butter and freshly grated parmesan and she ate the lot. So I'm not complaining. It was a very pleasant experience.

This was, by far, one of the best dining experiences we had on our trip to Australia. The food was top notch, and every dish was delicious all the way to the last bite. We were immediately brought champagne on the house since the staff knew we were here for our honeymoon, and the service remained that intentional and attentive the entire evening. Francesco was one of the best servers we’ve had when dining, and made us feel special no matter how busy the restaurant had gotten. We would come back every time we are in Australia.

Magnificent food, great staff ( DJ is superb and I think her name was Francesca is a bubbly pocket rocket). It was that good we managed to go back a second time before leaving Port Douglas and the quality did not diminish. Keep up the great quality of food served, along with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back. Thank you for a lovely time👍

My family and I had a wonderful lunch. True Italian food - fresh and best ingredients, cooked simple to taste their goodness. The waiters Antonio and FJ were friendly, joyful and gave best service. We also ordered takeaway pizzas for dinner that night and they were yummy, heated up. Highly recommended! Will definitely be back!

We stopped to eat here on a busy Sunday night & enjoyed the mix of pizza & pasta & good service. Upon our return we got offered Pizza & a seat only. Same good service. On our third visit, our last night, the service had deteriorated, we had a long wait for service & the server had to be found when we came to pay & leave. Pizza was tasty.
