La Cucina + Bar

My sister and I had dinner here last night (Jan 18th) and had a great time. 🍝🍹🌙 We are both vegetarian and gluten free and so called ahead to ask for gluten free options. We were advised that any pasta dish could be replaced with gluten free pasta (at no extra cost according to our bill) but there were no gluten free pizzas available. No problem, we were in a pasta mood. I will note though that the vegetarian options on the menu are rather limited but we were just happy with the one vego pasta dish available. We made a reservation for 6:30pm online and when we arrived we were seated right away. At this point the restaurant wasn’t too busy, and the sound level inside was pretty quiet. Once ordering our food came in 10 minutes, and it was still hot! We ordered spaghetti puttanesca, a side of roasted potatoes and two mocktails - tropicolada and mango daiquiri. The food was lovely, we could hardly tell the pasta was gluten free and the sauce was amazing. Our drinks looked and tasted wonderful as well. Service was great as well, the waiter who took our order (man with the beard - sorry we didn’t catch your name) was friendly and kept our water cups refilled throughout the evening. Overall we were happy with our dinner here and would recommend to others visiting :)

We had one of the best meals we've ever had! I had the seared tuna, my partner had the eye fillet. Dessert was hazelnut ricotta pear cake. The service was great, location was lovely and the evening was beautiful. We highly recommend eating here.

An excellent eating experience. Service was outstanding. This place was very child friendly even with our lively children. Once the food was brought the children were silent. They ate everything. Drinks were lovely...cocktails was excellent. Wear river early and were accomodated

This place is a must for us when we come to port Douglas. We love coming here it’s our absolute favourite vibe. The food is absolutely amazing every time , the staff are so attentive and knowledgeable on the dishes and products. The cocktails are amazing. It’s just a sweet little romantic place to have a date night up here. We love it & we will always be back

La Cucina & Bar on Macrossan Street is an absolute gem. Not only was the food delicious, it was plentiful and well priced but it was the staff who made the whole experience special. They were professional, friendly and very attentive. The night was busy but you would never have known it because the staff never missed a beat. Highly recommend when going to Port Douglas. Will definitely visit again.

Magnificent food, great staff ( DJ is superb and I think her name was Francesca is a bubbly pocket rocket). It was that good we managed to go back a second time before leaving Port Douglas and the quality did not diminish. Keep up the great quality of food served, along with a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back. Thank you for a lovely time👍

We got a couple of margaritas, shared a burrata to start. For mains, we got the vegetarian spaghetti with capers and olives, and the beef ragout. Good ambiance and the place was busy. One of the wait staff ladies came out with our mains and looks pretty cranky and kind of threw them down and walked off. Prob just having a bad day. The Italian guy who was serving us most of the night was great. Food was tasty and margaritas were ok but a little weak/bland.

Great authentic Italian food in the heart of Port Douglas! The pizza was very flavourful and the burrata was super creamy and fresh.
