After a long day of chateau hopping, we ended up in the town of Loches. Cute town, but we didn't have enough time to explore. The castle lights up after dusk.||||There are free parking lots if you can find a space - I parked at the further one and it is a bit of a trek (downhill) to find the B&B. The closer one only has about 20 spots and they were all taken, however you can drive closer here in the morning to load up your luggage - be aware it is a one way street.||||The host was lovely and spoke fluent English - we were an hour late from our estimated arrival and he was very hospitable. The 16th century stairs that link the rooms are incredibly unique, but can be challenging. He was kind enough to carry one of our luggages without question, much appreciated. ||||The breakfast room is beautifully decorated - lots of pamphlets and information about the area. We had an early, simple breakfast of tea/coffee/juice, croissant, fruits, yogurt and cereal. ||||The room was spacious enough, we stayed in a 3 person room - decorated in reds with interesting knick-knacks and books. The linens weren't the best quality or the cleanest, but the mattresses were fine. The toilet behaves rather bizarrely - you press the button and it "gets ready" for about 10 seconds before flushing - first time in my travels! Shower is small and had a broken shower head, but still usable.||||For the price, location, hospitality and breakfast this is a good value choice.
