We stayed here as part of a bike ride and it was a nice experience. Tomas, the owners son took care of us and was very helpful in anything we needed. The house is from the 16th century so don't expect too much on the modern side. But the room was fun and quirky and comfortable! The stairs are original so be careful in negotiating them. You cant be in a better place in Loches for walking but I could see how cars might be an issue here. Simple but nice breakfast.

The hotel is right by the castle, church and dungeon., located in a very quiet area. We received a warm welcome. The owners are very interested in the history of the area.; you'll get plenty of tips and ideas for things to see in the area. We went for a stunning walk around the castle in the evening, right next to the hotel, it was quiet and the buildings were lit up. The hotel and room are beautifully decorated. There are books and leaflets about what to do in the area.

After a long day of chateau hopping, we ended up in the town of Loches. Cute town, but we didn't have enough time to explore. The castle lights up after dusk.||||There are free parking lots if you can find a space - I parked at the further one and it is a bit of a trek (downhill) to find the B&B. The closer one only has about 20 spots and they were all taken, however you can drive closer here in the morning to load up your luggage - be aware it is a one way street.||||The host was lovely and spoke fluent English - we were an hour late from our estimated arrival and he was very hospitable. The 16th century stairs that link the rooms are incredibly unique, but can be challenging. He was kind enough to carry one of our luggages without question, much appreciated. ||||The breakfast room is beautifully decorated - lots of pamphlets and information about the area. We had an early, simple breakfast of tea/coffee/juice, croissant, fruits, yogurt and cereal. ||||The room was spacious enough, we stayed in a 3 person room - decorated in reds with interesting knick-knacks and books. The linens weren't the best quality or the cleanest, but the mattresses were fine. The toilet behaves rather bizarrely - you press the button and it "gets ready" for about 10 seconds before flushing - first time in my travels! Shower is small and had a broken shower head, but still usable.||||For the price, location, hospitality and breakfast this is a good value choice.

Great friendly service in this B&B. In a great location with free parking nearby, we were able to wander the ancient town of Loches. Our room had character, lots of artwork ( the owner has a gallery)and our bathroom had an Arabian touch. Breakfast was beautiful with plenty to eat and was served in the dining room. The authentic 15th century stairs that we needed to climb to get to our room, could be a challenge for some older visitors but Claude was so helpful that I am sure he would help. His recommendation for dinner was excellent and we were able to avoid the tourist menu. Although we only had one night at this delightful B&B we were made to feel very welcome.

If you want to stay in a thoroughly charming historic house in Loches, run by a genuinely friendly and helpful family, look no further than La demeure Saint-Ours. We had only one night to spend here, unfortunately, but we were made most welcome, enjoyed the house's historical features and the complementary room decor, and were well-breakfasted, too. The house is within the old town, so be prepared for narrow streets and time-worn pavements, storybook windows and castle-walls. Parking is likely to be a short walk away, there are good places to eat within easy walking distance, and you will likely wake to the sound of ancient bells in the morning.

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is opposite the historic chateau and dates back to the 16th century. The accommodation retains all the old features but is very comfortable. The owner and his son are very charming and make sure you have a comfortable stay, they even walked back to my car with me at 9.00pm in order to direct me to a more convenient place to park. A memorable stay.

Difficult to find as rue du Chateau (at the front of the property) is a pedestrianised street and rue (des Fosses) St. Ours (at the back of the property) can only be approached from the south west (via Mail de la Poterie) - avoid the town centre. There is free parking at the top of rue St. Ours or alternatively c.100mtrs down this road (both c.50mtrs. from B & B). The B & B is rather an odd sort of place as it seems to have once been 2 houses on 2 streets but joined by a creaky but fascinating 16th C. staircase. We stayed in the somewhat quirky 'chambre Jeune' at the top of the staircase but it was rather chilly (mid-Sept. - no heat in radiator). The room was reasonably large but with nowhere much to put clothes and the washing and toilet facilities were only partially screened from the rest of the room. There was no light above the shower and the toilet was dreadfully positioned under a sloping ceiling so that you couldn't stand up to use it. The B & B owner was pleasant and helpful and breakfast in a room on the ground floor was fairly good. Can't rate the place very highly (perhaps other rooms are better), although it's central position is ideal for exploring Loches (a really pretty and interesting town).

A fabulous little hotel almost impossible to find, right next to the Château in Loches. It’s best to call to give arrival time so the very friendly and helpful hosts can meet you and guide you to the almost hidden entrance. Park near the Château main gate and someone will meet you there.||Unique and quirky rooms, individually decorated and furnished with ornaments, pictures and books (not your average hotel room at all!)||Comfortable beds and an excellent buffet breakfast (no restaurant) of fresh bread, croissants, cereals, yoghurts, jams, fruit etc.||The hosts (Claude and his son Tomas) are outstanding. Interested in the guests and a mine of local knowledge and advice.||50 m from Château entrance and 100m from centre of town with wide range of good bars and restaurants .||Loches is a mediaeval town with lots and lots of history, including some occupation by the English way back, and it’s also the birthplace of Joan of Arc.||Worth a minimum of a full day’s exploring.
