Wow.. super disappointing.. Was there with a large group of friends. The chicken and mushroom was grey and tasteless, my pizza base was burned, the bolognaise was swimming in grease. The cup of coffee was cold and astringent. When we asked for some chilli oil they didn't have any. When we asked for chilli flakes they didn't have any. . It put a bit of a damper on our night to be honest. We paid and left.

My first visit to this place resulted in finally finding a proper pizza in Ireland - not perfect, but it was great. I haven't been around restaurants much but this one has the right kind of atmosphere: music, peace and quiet ideal for romantic dinners. No teenage songs in here and the staff was very helpful.

We really appreciate the food. The atmosphere and the decoration were fabulous. I give two stars because when we pay at the counter, the woman with the white shirt was very cold, we gave a good tip because the food was nice but she not even say thank you and not even say goodbye. She did like we were bothering her. I think the welcoming is one of the most important things in one restaurant. We did so many restaurants in cork and were always satisfied with the service!!! But nothing to say about the food it was amazing.

Amazing food, fresh and authentic. Even the waiter was directly from Tuscany. Coming to Ireland from NY we didn't have high expectations for the Italian food in Cork, but we were blown away. Fresh bread to the table was soft and flavorful, the arancini were delicious and we wanted more, both of our pasta dishes were cooked perfectly, and the dessert was fabulous as well. Very friendly staff and attentive, we even ordered a pizza to go to munch on tomorrow. It would seriously compete with some of our favorite places from back home in the states.

Yelp
Closed permanently. Walked all the way to get here, and it is gone for good. Sigh, what a pity.

Yelp
What a great meal and experience we had here last night. The staff was extra friendly. The food & wine was prepared and delivered with perfection. The atmosphere was as it should be a cozy street side small business trying to deliver excellent food and a comfortable experience.

Yelp
This place is freaking delicious. We came in from the cold and it was so warm and welcoming. We ordered some wine and pasta (I can't remember what we particularly ordered). The servings were perfect and it was so delicious. I didn't want to stop eating but I got full. Service was super kind and the owner or manager was really nice. I would love to come back here if I'm ever in Cork again.

Yelp
La Dolce Vita, the good life. Sure it's a funny place to find it in Cork but we make do. This is a new favourite of my dad's and I love the spaghetti carbonara with prawns. My sister complains that the portions are small but how much cheesey pasta can you really eat? It's a pretty decent Italian with reasonable prices for Cork. The staff are all Italian and friendly, they even have a piano player some nights. I would pass on the seafood salad, instead order the fried goats cheese and bread basket. I'm a steak fan and the fillet is well cooked here, the veg sides weren't amazing but add some spaghetti and it's a great combination. This isn't the best restaurant in the world but you'll have a good night out.

Yelp
I think this might be a chain? Or maybe just a really popular name? Not sure. Either way, it's fecking delish. Really, really good Italian food. And seafood caught fresh from around Cork which is a massive bonus. I had a pizza when I was here, which was wood fired. Oh my god. I love wood fired pizzas. Seriously. If I had a whopper big gaff, and a little bitta cash to spare, the first thing I'd buy would be a pizza oven. Imagine how popular you'd be?!! Anyway. Back to these guys. The pizza. I got the panchetta one which was made with really good quality ingredients, and wasn't too salty which can often be a problem with those types of meats. It left me full, but not so stuffed I felt bad. Just enough room for desert.. I had one of these cannolo things - a rolled pastry with ricotta cheese inside and pistaccio nuts sprinkled on top. So, so yum.

Yelp
Yeah it is classy and the staff is really welcoming. I ate only pizza and it wasn't that bad. Still, it is not that different from other pizza places in town.

Yelp
Went to La Dolce Vita tonight for the first time and will be back again. Italian food was great. Good value and service was excellent with friendly staff.

Yelp
This is one of the best Italian places we've eaten in, all the pasta is home made, the prices are very reasonable, the service and staff are impeccable, the wine list is simple, lovely and great value for money, this is the 3rd time we've eaten here and every time we're in cork this is the first on our list to visit. They also have an authentic Italian pizza oven, we haven't tried the pizza but it looks amazing, the chefs Paul and Jackie are passionate about their food, all the staff are Italian and Rosita is the friendliest waitress ever and will always give a good recommendation. For you veggies the Spaghetti Ala Norma is to die for, they will also mix and match the menu. We will probably be back again tonight or for tomorrow for lunch before we head home.

Yelp
So I' m happy to review this place and put it up there for others to go and try this fantastic place. In the old proby restaurant on probys quay, la dolce vita is definitely the good life! We were invited here for a birthday party so there was a large group of us, of about 20. We were greeted by a smiling waiter who Showed us the table, looking over the menu, I found it hard to decide, as they have. A great selection of appetisers , fish, meat and pasta. Originally I was going to go for the clams with spaghetti , as you never see this on a menu in Ireland, but when I did my order the waiter told me they were actually mussels so I passed and went for the chicken pasta with mushroom and cream sauce, and my boyfriend did la dolce vita pizza. Before the food came out we did the antipasti misto plate. That was ok, but what was ally delicious was the homeade pizzette and antipasti they brought out complimentary which was a mix of fresh olives and other vegetables, that was Devine! When dinner arrived the couple sitting across ordered a swordfish special which they enjoyed so much they devoured it in silence. My chicken and pasta was excellent, less pasta more chicken and mushroom, which I thought was great. My boyfriends pizza looked fab, the only problem I could see with it was that the fresh tomato on it left it soggy after a while, but it was fresh and really deliciouse just did not make food for next day leftovers. The chef made a beautiful tiramisu cake and presented this at the end, it was also delicious. I would say the place is catching on very well, as it was only wednesday and the restaurant was full of groups and smaller tables , the service was excellent , a team of very charming people indeed. I wil definitely be back!
