"The red salsa. Try the red salsa here. This is our favorite go to taco and burrito spot in Highland Park. Fish & shrimp tacos are our favorites here. Serious flavor punch action. Make everyone jealous on the gold line as it passes by you while you eat at Estrella." - Friend of a Friend

I used to frequent the old corner restaurant and finally had the chance to check out their new spot. The food is just as delicious as I remember, and the prices are still affordable. The new location is much more spacious, with a larger seating area. The place looks clean and has some cool wall art, too.

They are condiments for you to grab and go, kind of sad… I was looking forward to radishes and the pickled habanero salsa, but you wont find any of that here. I ordered their asada nachos. They were okay, not terrible, but also not great.

Super great tacos for super cheap and they're open so late. Great for after the bar or just a late night craving.

Delicious! Fish tacos were huge and insane, the cabbage, radish, and pico de gallo was fresh and crunchy. Refried beans or creamy and seasoned well. Red salsa and green salsa were fuego. 43 bucks , 2 fish tacos, 1 shrimp tacos, 5 asada tacos, rice & beans, coke and a water bottle. Do it

I've been going here for more than 22 years although not frequently I admit. Maybe I'd add stop by here after I went to smart & final for a couple past or couple carnitas tacos, or late at night in my nocturnal days (TM). I've never had their fish taco or shrimp taco, and BECAUSE I'VE BEEN ON A SHRIMP TACO TEAR FOR THE LAST MONTH I ordered two of the shrimp and one of the fish. At first I thought I made a mistake because They were enormous, about twice the size that I was expecting and I thought it was never going to finish them. Then I started eating them and had no trouble finishing them because they were absolutely delicious. A prophet is ignored in their own hometown, and I was really impressed with the tacos here I'd say they were between 8 or 9, and the salsa Rojo was perfect.

The Mexican food I grew up with! I’ve moved to San Diego and still have to make the trip up every now and then just for the carne asada burrito. So delicious, so authentic, and the perfect level of spicy.

Yelp
Best al pastor. Can't get the same taste anywhere else. I have also tried the torta asada, shrimp taco, taco asada, wet burrito. Everything is better than any other place. This is a Highland Park must have.

Yelp
I was excited to see a new spot open but I must say that I was not impressed with the tacos. The al pastor lacked flavor and the meat was too chunky.

Yelp
The service was amazing! Very friendly people. I had the carne asada and it was very delicious and satisfying to my tummy. My husband tried the chicken taquitos plate, they were freshly made and crunchy, he enjoyed them. I had a rice water for drink very good. The location is open until 12mid and very clean. I definitely recommend them.

Yelp
Tasty taco truck open late. Big fan of their red salsa. The sopes are banging -- fresh ingredients and the sope itself is fried to perfection.
Nachos were a little heavy on the yellow nacho cheese for my taste, but the chips and all the toppings were good.
Looking forward to many future late-night runs!

Yelp
we came here after watching david binney at the lodge room and damn they did not disappoint. we got:
a cabeza sope ($4.34): the cabeza was well seasoned and tender and the shell was crispy and all the toppings fresb
a lengua taco ($2.74): super tender meat but not mushy, good lengua
an asada torta ($9.59): it was so flavorful and the bread was delicious. it was everything i needed
be sure to ask for red green sauce! they're both good and not too spicy

Yelp
So excited this place came back I was bummed it closed. Drove 30 miles when I realized it converted to a truck and it was worth the drive. The lady automatically recognized us since we were frequent costumers. The service was amazing and we were treated with smiles. It's In a small location but it still felt very welcoming.10/10 recommend it had good flavor the meat was seasoned very good the red salsa and green salsa combined with the meal was delicious will defiantly get it again. Not pictured: we had 2 tacos de asada and a taco de al pastor with red salsa and they were delicious as well.
