"Owned by former Tour de France cyclist Christian Meier and his wife Amber, La Fàbrica is an institution for Girona’s ever-mounting cycling crowd. Thanks to a rider-friendly combo of flat roads, ocean-side routes, mountains over 1000 meters for altitude training and, word has it, motorists that generally don’t try to mow you down, Girona’s terrain lures pro athletes and bike hobbyists alike. Since its 2015 opening, La Fàbrica’s cycle-friendly facilities (bike parking, water-filling stations, CO2 cartridges for flats) have secured its position as THE refuel spot for the saddle sore. As such, the open-plan diner space is full of celebratory cycle-inspired knickknacks, such as bikes mounted high on the walls as if they were stag heads. You won’t feel left out if you don’t rock a helmet, cleats, and a cycling jersey, just perhaps a little unfit. The packed bike rack outside is testament to its core crowd, but the quiet, roomy outdoor terrace (there’s space for seven tables) is extremely popular with all ages and sporting levels." - Gemma Askham,Jessica Benavides Canepa

My favorite place in the city! Were here a year ago and had an amazing experience so as soon as we came to Girona again, we headed there for brunch without any hesitation. The staff is super friendly and nice, the food is fresh delicious and looks amazing. I tried the salmon waffles this time and am in love with it! The atmosphere and the interior deserves a special mention. The place looks very cozy and stylish. Even though it can be busy, it's comfortable and you don't want to leave. Thanks for all your work, guys! Can't wait to come back here again! 🫶🏻

Google
Perfect stop for great quality food and coffee, especially for those who eat with their eyes 😍 Food is excellent quality, good flavours, and lots of options. They also have a selection of tasty cakes and really good coffee. Staff are friendly and the layout is quirky and cute. Lovely patio area to sit out in the sun. Cycle friendly, would highly recommend.

Google
This place is an absolute gem for cyclists! Picture this: your bike securely parked, a buzzing but relaxed atmosphere filled with fellow riders, and a menu that's pure, unadulterated goodness. They've absolutely nailed the 'healthy and cute' vibe – think vibrant smoothie bowls, artisanal toasts with fresh toppings, and delicious coffee, all served with a smile. Every detail, from the decor to the perfect post-ride fuel, feels thoughtfully curated. It's truly a cycling paradise; they've got it all!"

Google
La Fabrica Girona is for cyclists and everyday fans of good, healthy food. Off of the main street in the historic town center, down a little alley at the bottom of a set of stairs, La Fabrica offers indoor and outdoor seating. The menu includes bagels, toast, fresh fruits and pastries. Among hot drinks there are also lemonades and iced drinks. Note: Make note of your table number found on your table and go order at the counter next to the vitrine where you can see the beautiful pastries. Your food and drinks are brought to the table often with fresh flowers on top. Service is excellent - highly attentive and friendly. Word is out, La Fabrica is known and rightfully so. Check it out! Highly recommend

Google
One of the most lovely cafés I’ve been to. 10/10 on all categories! Really outstanding on top of the great food and super nice and special interior is the staff. They have managed to create a culture where you can sense they’re actually having a good time at work with each other and with the customers. Super super friendly and good vibes. Plus it’s a real classic amongst cyclists of course. Absolutely love it!

Google
I spend a lot of my mornings exploring new speciality coffee spots, and that often involves seeking out the perfect coffee and a delicious brunch. My latest discovery, La Fabrica, in Girona, has quickly become a firm favorite. My Honest Take on La Fabrica Nestled away on a quieter side street in Girona is the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. It's got this charming, rustic-chic decor with lots of natural light, plants, and a comfortable buzz of conversation. It's perfect for a solo escape with a book, a catch-up with friends, or even a casual business meeting. Let's talk coffee first, because for me, that's paramount. Their baristas clearly know their stuff. I had a flat white that was perfectly crafted – smooth, rich, and with just the right amount of foam. They use high-quality beans, and you can taste the difference. It's easily one of the best coffees I've had in a while. Now, the brunch. Oh, the brunch! Their menu is a delightful mix of classic brunch staples and some truly creative dishes. I opted for their "Breakfast Bagel". It was an inspired twist, combining local flavors with a brunch classic, and it was absolutely delicious. What really stood out, beyond the delicious food and coffee, was the atmosphere and the service. The staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Despite being busy, they made sure everyone felt looked after. If you're in Girona and looking for a truly outstanding coffee brunch experience, La Fabrica is an absolute gem. Whether you're craving a perfectly brewed coffee, a hearty savory dish, or something sweet and refreshing, you'll find it here, served with a smile in a beautiful setting. It’s the perfect place to start your day feeling happy and well-fed. I'm already planning my next visit them again!

Google
La Fábrica is the perfect spot in Girona for a coffee or lunch break during a ride. The coffee is excellent, the food is delicious, and the staff is super friendly. Sitting outside in the sun makes it even better. Highly recommended!

Google
Fantastic! Excellent menu, different options for brunch including vegetarian and vegan, many toasts, sandwiches, bowls, cookies and hot/cold drinks. The blushing hummus was amazing (a toast with beetroot hummus covered with chickpeas, quinoa and vegetable chips)! Staff were super friendly and our meals came very fast. Orders are received at the cashier.

Yelp
Beautiful presentation, poor execution. I had the pulled pork bagel, my wife had the avocado toast. The bagel was stale and reminded me of a processed bagel from walmart. The pulled pork was too sweet and lacked depth of flavor. It also had like thousand island dressing on it which made for a disappointing bagel. The avocado toast had an overcooked hard egg and lots of toppings like cheese, tomato and corn that I think over complicated the dish and took away from the avocado. Food was incredibly fast. I think everything is precooked and ready to assemble. The coffee here and their sister store Maria Espresso is great, but I recommend looking elsewhere for food.

Yelp
We had breakfast at La Fábrica during our day trip to Girona. To beat some of the tour groups, I had it in my head that we'd take one of the earliest trains there and ended up arriving around 8:45am. We needed both breakfast and caffeine. La Fábrica has an extensive menu with savory and sweet options. I had the avocado toast and X had the Mediterranean toast. His was better, but both were very good. I also had an iced latte with oat milk, and it hit the spot. A plus is that they have a bathroom! Staff was very nice and friendly.

Yelp
La Fabrica is a fantastic café. Weather your a cyclist looking for a pre-ride or post-rode spot where you can soak up some of the Girona cycling lore or just someone who appreciates a great coffee and excellent café food La Fabrica is the spot for you. The other day we were there in the morning while they were receiving their delivery of fresh fruits and veggies. All the produce looked amazing. Some was taken directly to the kitchen, but lots were loaded into the bins that you see at the front of the café, so yes what you see there in the bins gets used every day. As you can see from the photos, the presentation of everything is beautiful and it is all as fresh and delicious as it looks. The servers are super friendly and helpful, most of whom speak 2, 3 or more languages. And the food comes up more quickly than at many other places in town. Enjoy! Bonus points for La Fabrica in that it was founded and is run by Canadians

Yelp
TL;DR: One-of-a-kind bike cafe owned by an actual bike pro. Very charming interior, with bike jerseys displayed alongside fairy lights & overgrown ivies, all set to trendy small plates. There's indoor and outdoor seating; either way your order at the counter. It's clear the owner put a lot of love into this place; the cute coffee cups reveal "Another?" as you finish the coffee & even the menu items are incredibly hip, with chia pudding featuring a dazzling persimmon, peach, and blueberry topping. Here's what we got after a 54mi bike ride: Fully loaded waffle: Ham strips inside (!) the waffle loaded with guac & sweet potato chips. Maybe a bittt too much BBQ sauce, but really flavorful and a great concept. Chia Pudding: Super beautiful looking & a generous portion. The chia was a bit bland though, so I might suggest topping it with sugar. Pulled pork bagel: Best of all 3. Actual smoked pulled pork American style with plenty of cheese. Super good. This place is great for a casual coffee if you are looking for an open, airy, and hip setting that is also bike friendly!

Yelp
Great food, great service and great coffee... what's not to like? This gem is just a short block off the beaten path and worth it. Pay at the counter when you order, and then sit back and relax and they'll bring your order. The "fruits of the forest" is the fancy fruit dish you see in all the photos. I liken it to a deconstructed parfait. There is yogurt in the middle and the bed on which the fruit rest is all the crunchies.

Yelp
This was an exceptional find in the old alleys of Girona. The owners have put in effort to make it outstanding. Delicious, fresh food - even almond butter which I hadn't found since arriving in Spain. Even the interior and lighting created an inviting setting. Super friendly staff. I highly recommend eating here.

Andrew S.

Yelp
La Fábrica is a fantastic lunch spot, and an even better place to pass the time on a rainy day. The entire staff speak decent English, as well as having menus in French, Spanish, Catalan, and English. They've mastered the art of a good chai latte, and their fluffy eggs are only outdone by their ability to masterfully plate and decorate every dish. The combined use of a playful assortment of decorative vegetables with functional delicacy makes La Fábrica an excellent choice for lunch, especially if you want to spend 10€-20€!

Marie A.

Yelp
Beautiful spot for coffee or breakfast! Incredible decor and with a lively ambience. Excellent service with friendly staff

Eugene W.

Yelp
A nice restaurant tucked away in the old part of Girona. They have a really aesthetic interior. Menus available in English. The menu seems pretty international and breakfast-focused. Some things seemed a bit overpriced, but others were reasonable. We got smoked salmon bagels, which were pretty solid and reasonably priced. Great for a quick bite!

Rachel R.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, how delightful. Dirty Chai, and a morning bowl of oats topped in fresh fruit. The outdoor space was beautiful, and the meal was divine.

Kristine H.

Yelp
Sister cafe to the AMAZING Espresso Mafia here in Girona so I knew stepping in, I was ready for a great brunch! Not disappointed at all. I had the veggie scramble. My hubby the bagel with avocado (hold the turkey ham). I also had a cafe con leche with oat milk. All great! The decor is so fun. Full bike theme. Highly recommend.

Guise B.

Yelp
Come here if you care more about the way your food looks than it tastes. They can make pretty plates but you can't get a decent breakfast here. They can't seem to cook a fried egg properly without it being white and slimy and my toast was stone cold. I ordered egg and toast because it was the thing on the menu that most resembled breakfast. If you like vegan nonsense for your breakfast with lots of berries or some colored paste smeared on your plate come here. Then they burned my waffles....

Roberta T.

Yelp
Lovely hidden place in the Medieval town. Love the decor and how the love the cyclists. The food is really delicious and nicely presented. Every little detail was well thought. Service was amazing with a lovely cashier. Quite different from my Barcelona experience. It's worth every single moment at this place.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! We had just arrived in Girona and were looking for a more substantial breakfast/lunch before seeing the city. La Fábrica was a top/recommended café in our book and it was so close to our hotel, so we said why not. I couldn't be happier that we went here. The interior is decorated so well--very trendy and everything on the menu sounded delicious. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We waited a few minutes for a table indoors since it was a bit chilly (the tables were full and after eating here, we know why!). You order and pay at the counter and then they bring your food to you. There were 3 of us, and we each got coffee (pictured) and a different main meal--the boss breakfast, fully loaded waffles (pictured), and dulce de leche waffles--and one pastry (pictured) to share. We were pretty hungry but our eyes ended up being bigger than our stomachs (you just don't always know portion sizes in Europe). The avocado spread was something I wasn't expecting in Spain, but it was very good. The fully loaded waffle is topped with what resembles terra chips in the US and the waffle was so filling, a perfect savory brunch. SO much popcorn comes on the dulce de leche waffle--so fun and so tasty. The consensus was the waffles were the best choice, but everything was phenomenal. The 3 of us probably could've split the two waffles and a pasty and been plenty content, but I suppose now we're set for a more traditional Spanish or Catalan dinner. The location is perfect and so easy to find in the old district, right near the Jewish quarter. 10/10 recommend! If we were spending more time in Girona, we'd go back here again in a heartbeat. Add La Fábrica to your "must visit" list in Girona; you won't regret it!

Yelp
I was afraid to go to La Fabrica after reading that this is an enclave for elite cyclists. But don't be as silly as me. The cyclists should not have all the fun, and they won't bite you. They won't even look at you, LOL. They are so into what they do, and getting their fix of healthy foods they won't notice. GO. EAT. ENOY. This is a place that has done everything right, from the ambiance, to the offerings. The proprietors thought of everything from how they present their food, to how they store the napkins, the decor, bike locks on loan, two slotted bike racks inside. I just want to tell you first, about the food. Nutter butter. Almond butter bananas. Toasted coconut. I ordered more than one. More than once. And the Avocado Toast.... avocado, red pepper feta cheese oil and salt. Just look at the photos and the menu. Beautiful to look at as well as to eat. I went every day that I could. The baristas know what they are doing as well. First rate third wave barista skills that never wavered no matter if cold brew or hot latte. They roast their own beans and do NOT over roast. And fresh squeezed orange juice. i would like to say, all teasing of the elite cyclists aside, that I was worried that the ambiance would be like a member's only what are YOU doing here vibe. While the proprieters cater to the cyclists (after all one of them was a hard core cyclist himself) there is absolutely NOT an elitist vibe that would make you feel unwawnted. Exactly the opposite. It was a warm and welcoming experience each time I visited. Highly recommend for the eats and the greets. Best coffee and meal experience in all of Europe and I managed to go from Rome to Barcelona in search of worthy third wave brews.

Eva H.

Yelp
Such a cute hipster cafe in Girona! I got the garden and burrata and the cheese was so fresh! Presentation was amazing as well for such a simple meal. Definitely a good spot to try out if you're visiting and want something other than baked croissants in the morning.

Tom T.

Yelp
Yeah, it is really that good. We had bagels and avocado toasts. All very nice. Friendly service.

Indy L.

Yelp
If you enjoy cycling culture, this place has the right ambience. It opens at 9am. Drinks revolves around coffee tea or coconut water. They sell nice cycling related accessories and their own jersey, bib and socks. There's even the odd multi tool and tire iron. Lining the walls they have cycling related decors. It's worth a visit just to relax among cycling paraphernalia if you're in Girona. You won't get as much enjoyment if you don't like cycling or cyclists but their mocha is still excellent. But their clients tend to be cyclist, so you get fit athletic and generally photogenic people to hang around with. How bad can it get?

Allen L.

Yelp
This is some of the most beautiful and approachable food I've ever experienced. Yes, that's a paradox. But, within that paradox, there is just one truth and one word that describes La Fábrica and that is DELICIOUS. You won't just be delighted and satisfied and satiated. You'll feel and be at home.

Antonio S.

Yelp
Incredible atmosphere, staff and great food and coffee. The beautiful design and the connection with cycling make this restaurant unique. Most days you can see Amber, the Owner, working at the cashier or making coffee, super authentic and awesome. :-) Specially If you like cycling, this is a mandatory stop for you.

Julie Ann I.

Yelp
cute cycling club cafe, great coffee and breakfast foods. The decor of the place has a rustic cozy feel, picture of cyclist on the wall and gear for sale. The coffee is espresso mafia and offer diff pastries. You're able to sit indoor and outdoor.

Christopher C.

Yelp
I am a cyclist from the states, Girona is a fun town for cycling crowd. Lots of bike rentals and tours. This place is owned by ex-pats from Canada. The food is westernized international with a woke twist. I liked this theme. My wife loved it. We visited twice, one lunch and one breakfast. She ordered the hummus toast one time and the fruit pat yogurt bowl another. I tried both of hers, liked both. She loved their coffee. My experience was a little different. Order pork bagel first time, was okay, pork may as well have been from a frozen dinner, bagel was more akin to regular bread than a bagel, I did like flavor. Got egg on toast second, it's a single egg on toast that was way too toasted. I got espresso one time latte another, didn't think either was particularly great, just okay. Realize this is the trendy place in town so usually busy, both times we went through not so busy we couldn't find a seat. . Note we also had their coffee again at the mafia place that carries it. This was our third time trying there coffee and said screw it and ordered an Americano just to get something closest to the states .... Yeah still not that great, oh well. I liked all the concept of this place and gave it 4 out of 5 since my wife loved it so much. To me just missed the mark, especially when coffee is there thing, wasn't impressed and they are charging a bit extra for it.

Leina K.

Yelp
This place reminded me so much of San Francisco. Completely hipster artist vibe except there, it's where all the bicyclists hang out. Avocado toast was delicious and at around $10, was right on par with SF. We'd definitely be back again, just need to make sure you have directions in the maze that is Girona.

Abdullah D.

Yelp
This is the best breakfast spot in Girona. Coffee and cakes are amazing, pulled pork sandwich is very filling. Great place to start the day in Girona if you're planning on seeing the wall and churches of the old town.

Theresa G.

Yelp
AMAZING & DELICIOUS FOOD!!!! The food is to die for and the presentation is so beautiful! They use fliers and colorful fruits to dress yo their plates. Aside from the looks the food tastes better than anything I've ever had! Such a cute shop and friendly employees! I have had almost everything on the menu and it's all so good I couldn't choose a favorite! The hummingbird cake though is my favorite sweet! You NEED to go if you're in Girona!

Angela B.

Yelp
Amazing! This is the first place we stumbled upon when we arrived in Girona in the morning too early to even check into our hostel. Avocado toast was even better than we imagined, coffee was delicious, and we loved seeing all the local cyclists who stopped in during their morning bike rides.

Courtney V.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, delicious fresh fruits and yogurts! Husband raved about his farmer's breakfast too. Presentations are gorgeous and photo-worthy. 100% worth a visit. Also kid friendly.

Christine R.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop - delicious espresso, and I like that they use local milk/bread etc. I do wish that they would offer pour overs! I really miss drip coffee when I come to Spain. The coffee is a little pricier than other cafes but it has a great vibe with indoor and outdoor seating, and although I didn't try the food this time they seem to have some good vegetarian options.

Jacob F.

Yelp
Yes. Just a resounding yes. I went here twice. The first time, I got the Mediterranean Farmer. The second time, I got the Humble Vegetarian. Both were excellent, but the Mediterranean took the cake. I also got some really nice black tea.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Everything about La Fábrica draws you in and keeps you there. Stepping down from street level in Old Town Girona, you'll see gorgeous stone walls and a mix of bike-themed decor, steel and wrought iron, plants, and books strewn about the family-style dining table. The food is fresh, locally sourced and over the moon. I had the Mediterranean Farmer dish and made a point to eat everything down to the last fresh baby lettuce leaf to the thinly sliced, dried beet chip and roasted beet smear artfully presented on my plate. The coffee is roasted by them and was perfect unadorned....black...no cream, no sugar and zero bitterness. It was so good I had a second with a fritter! The family style dining made it easy to start up a conversation with a group of ladies traveling from London for a bike trip. Biking is obviously a big deal in Girona and La Fábrica tastefully integrates it as eye candy....for the very brief moments you may take your eyes off your delicious food and coffee!

Luis R.

Yelp
La Fabrica is the most wonderful place!!! The food is amazing and the personnel is the nicest. Park as soon as you find a spot, even if you have to walk a bit

Cortland H.

Yelp
Whoa! Most amazing food Girona has to offer, on top of the peaceful & serene vibes given within the restaurant as well from the staff! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!

Alanna A.

Yelp
Super good food!!! Friendly staff who speak English, wide variety of food options, cute place. Go and eat here - you will be glad you did.

Miguel B.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast in Girona. It has a great vibe, good innovative dishes, friendly staff and good location.

michael r.

Yelp
In a hidden little square (or at least hidden for a tourist such as myself!) we found this gem. We had terrific avocado toasts, one w egg, one with curry, both delicious. We also had a nice orange juice with ginger. Sitting in the sun in Girona with a great lunch ...what beats that?

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Being a couple of bikers ourselves (triathletes to be exactly) we found this place fitting to our taste just like 28mm cotton tires would fit Javier Gomez' TT Specialized bike...i know this doesn't help for a good review but the bottom line was: We found real food served in beautiful and tasty dishes that left us ready to continue discovery the city after lunch. The same attention to details put in the decor, pictures and art was also in the food and drinks. Service was outstanding, friendly and fast. Carrying a baby we ran into special needs for which the waitress gladly helped us to manage them.

Amelia S.

Yelp
La Fabrica was a welcome respite from the traditional Euro breakfast options. I never thought I would get tired of croissants or pan con tomate and jamon but I was craving some clean energizing food. I had the Avocado Toast and my husband had Mediterranean Farmer. The bread was an awesome foundation but the toppings were just what I needed. Didn't know I'd be craving an egg so badly. Coffee was brewed to perfection and fresh orange juice was just that. I liked the cycling vibe even though I am far from that. The crowd was mixed and all friendly w each other at communal tables.
