We came here because they had a 4.8 star, we left because it was a 2 star at best.
I believe many of these follies could have been remedied if they put salt and pepper out on the table, or found time to ask you how your food is before it is stone cold and the window to fix said issues has closed tight.
The potato and basil flan was a hot mush moulded into a small disk. It was unseasoned and unappetizing (I’m afraid this is a theme). His soft boiled egg in a pea puree was done to perfection, unfortunately with the pea puree under seasoned as well, it wasn’t great. A side of roasted veggies was seasoned apparently, but it took 4 slices to find one. The carbonara flavours were incredible, but it would have been nice if the chef took their time and added pasta water to thin it out to a normal consistency.
To be fair, they had a huge reservation that came in just after us. Making eye contact with these folks would be difficult over their new table of 30 or more. As well, the servers seemed nice. What they didn’t do however was to understand that their lack of attention contributed to the subpar meal that we still needed to pay for.
We had no issues paying for our meal, but we could not leave coming back to this establishment to chance, when Italy has about a 1000 restaurants competing for our attention.
