La Favorita Hotel

We booked this hotel a few weeks before our trip and didnt have high expectations. I couldn't think of a better place to stay in town. We had one of the balcony rooms which was large, clean, great view of the main road (never got loud) and sea. Spent a couple hours each day just drinking wine on the balcony and people watching. Service was fantastic staff was very friendly. The location i would say is perfect for this small walkable town. Its right between the busy harbor and the big beach (with a small beach right across the street. Quiet yet easy walk into the center of town (10 minutes or less) or to the big beach outside of town. Also the food at the restaurant was very good and we got a discount for staying at the hotel. 10/10 couldnt think of anything I would want different!

I was in La Favorita with my hiking group for a week and we had a wonderful experience. Breakfast was incredible, with freshly made cakes buiscuits and jams every day. Dinner portions were huge. Particularly impressive were the mixed grilled fish and the mixed fridge fish. Facing the sea, La Favorita is on the main coastal road, among other nice shops and gelateria. But the real added value was the staff. Kind, personable, friendly and approachable. Every morning I would have a chat with lovely Marianna looking at the sunrise. Marianas and her colleagues treated us marvellously, always rrady to accommodate every request and with a smile on their face and personable attitude.|Looking forward to coming back to this hotel next time I'll be in Sardinia!

We stayed at La Favorita Hotel in Cala Gonone for 3 nights. Overall, our stay was pleasant. Our room was spacious, clean, and equipped for guests with reduced mobility, which meant that the bathroom sink and mirror were lower than standard—this was the only minor inconvenience for us. The mattress was very comfortable, and the room was generally quiet (not in early morning though). We had booked our stay with breakfast included, and it was definitely worth it. There was a good variety each morning, including fresh fruits, tasty scrambled eggs, and other options. Paid parking is available just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient. Unfortunately, our experience at the hotel restaurant was disappointing. We went there for dinner and ended up waiting nearly 2 hours for our food. I had pasta, and my husband ordered grilled fish. After 1.5 hours, the waiter acted surprised when he realized that my husband and I hadn’t been served yet. Other tables experienced the same delays, and we noticed that some guests who appeared to know the staff were served much faster. When the food finally arrived, the fish was undercooked, and the pasta was average at best—overall, overpriced and not worth the hype. One last note: the AC in the room didn’t work consistently. It would stop on its own, making the room either too cold or not cool enough. Despite the restaurant experience, the hotel itself is well located and comfortable for a short stay, especially if you’re looking for easy access to the beach and local attractions.

Used to eat here many times over the last 10 or more years. The menu was via an app! The service was slow, overall very disappointing, however the pizza was nice when it eventually came! We won’t be going back, which is a shame as the location is stunning

We were truly shocked by our dinner. The fish we were served was full of scales and still had the guts inside. ||Despite spending €113 for two people, at 11:00 pm we were abruptly told we had “five minutes” to finish and leave because "the staff were tired".||The wine was only offered for tasting to the man at the table, which felt very outdated.

We went here for dinner and were underwhelmed across the board. The service was disappointing and we needed to chase up our drinks which had been lost in the system and our mains which took a very long time to come out. When we did get food (two fish dishes) it was okay, but I felt like it could have done with some more flavour

The hotel is nice, for the price. It’s in front of the beach and easy to access. However, there is no elevator and it’s quite a bit old. Our room had a door that would led to another room, we could see the light and hear their noise as they were in the room with us. The breakfast is ok, with little variety and ok quality. I don’t recommend the restaurant.

We absolutely loved the location, the restaurant, the staff and the cleanliness of this hotel. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and boating excursions. Definitely will be recommending this hotel to others.

The food was fantastic! We had the lamb, pizza, and capponata. All were wonderful. The prices are also reasonable for the location which overlooks the sea.
