La Femme du Boulanger offers a delightful breakfast experience with a focus on homemade, fresh products. Their offerings include homemade croissants, various toasts made with Poilâne bread, and a selection of homemade jams, providing a satisfying start to the day. Just be mindful that the quantity tends to be a but shy. Although the cozy atmosphere and friendly service enhance the overall experience. Been there twice for brunch and dinner. Both times- culinary superstars:))) Very delicious, huge portions, prepared with love and passion! Great service. Thank you for empowering our journey to Nice.

My husband and I were in Nice for a week and we had some spectacular meals but Femme du Boulanger was our favorite. Between the wonderful staff, and the delicious food, you can't go wrong. I ordered the rump steak with Roquefort sauce, which came with some vegetables and the best potato gratin. It was spectacular. I didn't think the lamb shank was going to be better but it was! Since the meal was so good, we decided to order a chocolate cake, which was like a molten brownie. It was unbelievably good. Highly, highly recommend!!

Google
Excellent food, superb service, with rustic French vibe. Some of the best food I’ve had in Nice. My wife loved her lamb shank and my son and I truly enjoyed our toasted bread plates. We had the apple and pear crumble (perfect) and tiramisu (slightly dry) for dessert.

The food here is amazing ! We came twice for dinner. Their tartines are so tasty, flavourful and delicious. Their creme brulee is also very good.

Google
Loved this restaurant! We got the brunch and everything was so beautiful. A full spread of jams, honey, cheese, and all the best breakfast foods. Everything was fresh and delicious tasting. Service was very nice and patient with our bad French. We saw lots of French folks inside as well as other travelers. Espresso and mimosas were both amazing. A little off the beaten path but very worth it. Would recommend!

Google
I spend my dinner in this cozy restaurant, the location is sentral - just a short walk from the beach. I made a reservation, but I got a table no questions asked right away outside in a beautiful ambient place. The server was very kind and professional and made my choice and preferences matter. The suggestion he was able to make was a complete success, the food was artistically crafted and It seemed like I've tried many small treats by one dish, not to mention the compliment treats along the way. If I would stay longer in Nice, I would probably come back here.

Google
My favourite dinner in Nice. We had the salmon with veggies and ravioli. The salmon was so fresh and well cooked and the pasta was excellent! Had their crème brûlée as well and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We went for dinner here by accident..thought we were going to La Cocina, they were closed. Best accidental find ever! Very delicious, I had the lamb shank, perfectly done, so tender. Husb had the sea bream and enjoyed. Everything was great. Ambience quaint, service on point and not far from where we stayed. Definitely would go again. Sadly no pics.

Yelp
I wanted a nice and unique restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday since we have traveled all the way from the USA to Italy on our ski trip. Nice is a post trip stop. After reading the comments and reviews, I decided to try La Femme du Boulanger. We were first greeted warmly by a lady host and then were so impressed with the vibrant colors of all sorts of local vegetables, fruits and mostly the delicious dishes, every dish we ordered from the homemade pate, lamb shank and veal liver! A lovely restaurant host surprised us by singing happy birthday in French along with a sparkler on the dessert we ordered. Other patrons followed the lead! My husband said it was one of the best birthday celebrations he had! Li from South Carolina

Yelp
La Femme hu Boulange - They ran out of everything i wanted to eat, but i tried another fish and got the whole fish, lots of bones included - but that's the food culture in Nice - but my philosophy is, while in France, do as the French. And it was delicious and i saw how hard Luna, our waitress, was working to please all her customers, and it flipped my egocentric perspective - i so enjoyed my meal, the ambiance, and the evening - it really was perfect. What else is there good food and good people.

Dom R.

Yelp
Great surprise. Everything from drinks to food was perfect. People know from my YouTube videos that French and Italians don't get along and I grade them harsher with that said, this restaurant was great in every aspect. Service, food, drinks, not a single negative thing I can say which is very rare.

Ceren M.

Yelp
OK so we went here despite my family's objections as I really want to try French food. My husband and my daughter are not adventurous when it comes to food. I on the other hand can eat anything. However, the beef I ordered was a bit tough and the flatbreads weren't that great. I ordered garden cocktail and it was delicious. My husband ordered red wine and he really liked it. I will go again to try other dishes, but not my family

Yelp
Though delayed multiple times, we got in before dinner time and this time we were lucky! The first dinner choice at La Femme Du Boulanger was excellent! My prawn dish with fresh noodles and his duck leg dish were both cooked nicely with full of flavor! My prawns were fresh and cooked nicely. The prawn had that tight and slightly chewy texture and clean. The noodles below was fresh made, with deep flavor, somewhat reminded me of Chinese noodles - the texture and flavor that tasted like soy sauce based. His duck was braised with some sweeter sauce but cooked beautifully- finally not raw food!!!! Of course I had to order Tiramisu in an Italian restaurant when the main dish is in right portion. It was one of the best #tiramisu I ever had. Not too sweet and the coffee taste is mild. The sweet crumbles and blueberries added a bit twist in texture and fun in taste. The cream was airy and light, paired perfectly. Will go back for sure. #nicefrance #nicerestaurants

Yelp
The food was very good. Also have gluten free bread and we're good at accommodating gluten free needs. Nice outdoor seating.

Douglas G.

Yelp
Excellent service with a delightful menu! The fish was fresh and the wine was perfect as selected by the server. The desert was delicious and the bread variety was on point! A must when in Nice, France!

Kristen J.

Yelp
Good service and great food! We got the ratatouille which had a unique take on the dish and included seasonal vegetables. We also got the fried goat cheese salad on a toasted bread and it was perfect!

Nancy C.

Yelp
Loved all! Finished everything in the plates. The sea bream is very fresh, just be a little careful with the fish bone in it. The crème brûlée is very impressive.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Cannot wait to come back here when we vacation in Nice next week! This was a favorite when we were there in 2018 and we are thrilled they are still open

Yelp
This warm goat cheese with flower honey crystallized, pears with spices, dry grapes, almonds, walnuts, and fig chutney dish was certified insane. I haven't tasted anything like it and recommend to all. If I could rate the dish alone it would be 5 stars. So why is this review 3 stars you may ask? While the dish was amazing, the service was everything devoid of good. The server and hostess both were super rude, slamming down our dishes/ water when she brought them to the table and maintained an extremely cold demeanor. We were high key scared to ask for more water and the check. Definitely not ideal.

Yelp
Our family of four had a memorable dinner in Nice thanks to the wonderful and friendly staff, great food, and lovely restaurant. Everything about the place was inviting and comforting! The table setting, the cozy lap blankets, warm pumpkin soup offered, even my boys said it was the best kids menu ever! We failed to find it during our first night in Nice but I am grateful to have found it on our second and last night (it was next to a tapas bar). Thank you for our memorable Thanksgiving dinner away from home! This is our family's favorite restaurant in Nice!

Sabrina M.

Yelp
We came for the brunch because we had read really good reviews of this restaurant online. The food was nothing short of 5 stars. We were served a 5 course brunch meal that consisted of yogurt with berries, artisan bread with spreads such as jam, butter, and caramel, and then an omelette to top it all off. My only complaint would be the service here. We did not feel as welcomed as we did everywhere else in Nice. They were somewhat standoffish and once they sat us down they did not return to take our order until we flagged them down much later on. In addition we were sat outside originally, and then moved inside for some reason, which was not explained to us. The restaurant itself was beautiful and had such a fun and elegant exterior and interior. I would definitely recommend for the food and I'm sure it was just a busy day for the servers when we went.

Edward F.

Yelp
A gem just off the Promenade. Service with a smile, nice wines by the glass and wonderful French food. The specials are hard to pass on. We had the classic duck a l'orange and sea bream. Everything was delicious. The vegetables cooked perfectly. The dessert list is wonderful too if you have room. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Marissa Y.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food. Went for breakfast with my family. The staff is kind and the homemade jams are wonderful.

Michael F.

Yelp
Amazing is all I can saw about this food. I'd seen it online but we happened upon it tonight while trying to find dinner. I remembered the name and said to my partner that we should eat here. Not 2 minutes later there was a line of five groups waiting to be seated. Les Poilâne was outstanding. My partner said not to fill up but we are the entire thing! Then came the Lamb shank and the Duck à l'orange. We mmmmmm'd through the meal! The potatoes à gratin were so soft and delicious and the veggies cooked to perfection. The meats, My God! Tiramisu for dessert and it did not disappoint!!! Don't hesitate. Just grab a table and tuck in!

Patrick K.

Yelp
We had an excellent meal and the service was tremendous. We were seated quickly for breakfast, promptly served bread to snack on and provided a menu (the English version because our French omits terrible). The atmosphere was great and we'd absolutely go back!

Hiroshi A.

Yelp
Glad to find that this place is still here. We had an amazing breakfast years ago and everything from the food to the ambience was exactly what one would hope for when visiting Nice Will be returning soon!!

Joni P.

Yelp
We ended up here by accident, had intended to go to the place next door but that was reservation only. The food here was heavenly! Cooked to perfection, flavors singing on your tongue, beautiful presentation. Servers very nice and very patient with our clumsy English. We are soooo happy we came here!

Lill R.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite restaurant while in Nice. The atmosphere, the service and the food was excellent. I had the salmon, which was very tasty. My husband had the lamb, and he really enjoyed it. We also shared a dessert. Creme brûlée, and it was so good, creamy in the middle and a nice crusty sugary top. The pictures will speak for them selves.

Yelp
We loved our brunch here! Great local spot, right in the main part of town, yet off of the main road. They had English menus, and the staff spoke limited English, but we were able to communicate fine. THE SERVICE: Very patient, no rush. We just sat and ended up making friends with another couple seated next to us for almost 3 hours. While that couple was also American, the rest of customers seemed local or at least French. THE WAIT: None at 10am on a rainy Saturday. The outdoor seating was pretty full when we got there, while indoors it was empty. By the time we left around 1pm (the rain had come down much harder), the indoor seating was packed. THE COST: 44,90€ for brunch for two, plus several coffees. Very affordable! THE FOOD: * Cappuccino - 4 stars Lovely, thick froth, served in a small bowl the way it's meant to be drunk! * Omelette - 4.5 stars Nice and fluffy, and love the thin strips of bacon, a little on the soft side but that's exactly how I like my bacon! THE FOLLOWING IS ALL PART OF THE 25€ BRUNCH: * Breads, jams, honey, caramel - 4 stars Pretty good mix of breads, some a little stale, but the homemade jams (strawberry, raspberry, fig, orange, cherry) are fantastic, all have chunks of fruit. * Yogurt, fruit - 4 stars Yogurt was super smooth. Fruits not really fresh or ripe, possibly canned, but worked with the yogurt. Just wish yogurt came in larger container so I could mix in fruit and honey more easily. * Risotto - 2 stars Undercooked, under-flavored, and didn't come out warm. * Smoked salmon - 4.5 stars Very soft and tasty! * Quiche - 3 stars Ok, nothing amazing. * Salad - 3.5 stars Fine, nothing amazing. Greens lacked crisp, dressing a bit bland. * Cheeses, meats - 4.5 stars Simple soft cheeses, great. Salted meats were fantastic.

Randel H.

Yelp
Really fantastic atmosphere and super yummy food! All tables are outside, and the hostess/waitress was incredibly helpful making space for us. All the entrees were between €20-€25. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the lamb. Creme brûlée for dessert and wine to drink! I was thrilled with this dinner out and grateful we found it!

Scott H.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday with my wife. Told the server it was my birthday, so expected an attempt to make our dinner special. First impression: My wife made a reservation, so told the hostess when we arrived a few minutes early. Her response? Doesn't matter, sit wherever you want. First lesson: Don't bother to make a reservation, even on a busy Friday night in peak season. After we sat, tried to get a grasp on what was included with dinners. Our French is minimal, so communicating was an issue. This one was probably at least part our fault, but we ordered a flatbread as a starter, seeing at other tables that a salad was included. Our expectations of flatbread, both previous experience and Yelp reviews of this place, was thin crispy crust. Nope, just bread topped with lots of cheese, and not hot as in right from the oven. Underwhelming and we regretted ordering it, especially for the perfectly ok side salad, Because... The entrees came with a small salad. I got the sea bream, which was a whole fish nicely prepared with a pleasant sauce on the side, and tasty rice. My wife got the rump steak, which was prepared as requested, and she enjoyed it. No issues with the entrees. Lastly was the reason for only 3 stars: After cheesy flatbread we didn't need, extra salad and generous portion entrees, we were full. However, our server *insisted* we choose a dessert because it's my birthday. I'm in my 60s, and that has always meant I would get a complementary dessert, which is basic, common sense goodwill. Nope, not here. When the bill came we were charged for a dessert we didn't want. So between the flatbread and dessert we spent 25 Euros more than we should have. I was so sure from Yelp reviews of being pleased that we would have breakfast here the next day. Nope. I wouldn't say not recommended, but approach this restaurant informed by my experience. The entrees were good and the ambiance was pleasant.

David P.

Yelp
This is a very busy restaurant, and deservedly so. Even so, the service was on pace with the French Riviera norm, and the food was very good and a great price. I saw a wide variety of plates being delivered, and very little food left when the meals were done. We, too, enjoyed our dinners here. My wife had a white-sauce pasta with salmon, that she claimed may have been the best dish she's ever had. I had a perfectly cooked steak, with some nicely prepared veggies. The wine menu was scant, but good. If we were staying longer, we would have returned -- but so many great restaurants and so little time!

Jerry L.

Yelp
Extremely good food! I had duck and my husband had steak. We really enjoyed them. ..........

Amelia B.

Yelp
Delicious! Definitely make a reservation online! Really enjoyed our meal here. There is a nice pre-fix menu that had good options and was great

Rich G.

Yelp
Food was very good and service was friendly. We went here because yelp listed this as a "kids friendly" place. I can't say it's kids friendly. There were no other kids there and there was no children's menu. Lovely and relaxing view. Would be 4 stars if we weren't misled by bringing children.

Ron Z.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service best lamb shank I have ever had. Easy to find friendly staff !

Slade C.

Yelp
We had the Mlle Seguin for an app, and it was quite yummy, (4.5 stars) followed by the rumsteak, which had a nice Roquefort sauce but was also kinda tough (grass fed, perhaps?). Lovely atmosphere as per normal for Nice; friendly staff. Solid choice!

Taressa C.

Yelp
Luckily -and randomly- we stumbled across La Femme du Boulanger on Yelp and could not be any happier. This quaint place, tucked down a side street, was by far the best we had over our three day stay. When we first entered, we immediately felt a sense of warmth and inclusion (not the norm as non French speakers). Throughout the dinner, our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Most importantly, the food was amazing, fresh, and reasonable priced. Their menu is seasonal, and locally sourced. For entrees, we ordered the rabbit and sea bream and finished the meal with a chocolate brownie (not even going to try to recall French name). One last note: this was one of the few places we could find that was open on the later side for dinner ~11pm

Marin L.

Yelp
Came back for the first time since December. Rather surprised to find that the menu is the same. No changes at all that I could see. This time I had the sea bream that came in its entirety. Definitely not enough fish to merit slowly taking it apart myself. All fish dishes come with rice and vegetables (beautifully cooked) rather than the potato gratin that the meat dishes come with. It would be nice to have the choice. Generous portion of cheesecake for pudding. Service was very good and it was packed outside for a Monday night.

Melissa K.

Yelp
I am so glad I took Yelp's recommendation on this place because this was the best meal I had in Nice. The place was crowded, but service staff was quick and very polite. They have an English menu, which is very convenient. I had the lamb shank with potato gratin, which was delicious!!! The potato gratin was nice and cheesy and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The lamb was so tender it was falling off the bone. The sauce was so good that I considered asking for some more. For dessert I had this raspberry rhubarb crumble.. I don't remember what it's called but it was delicious and came with ice cream. In sum, this place is definitely worth a visit!!

J N.

Yelp
Our family of five had a very nice dinner tonight. The duck and lamb were extremely tender and flavorful, salmon was cooked well. Good food, relaxing atmosphere, and the waiter and hostess were extremely kind and friendly to us, although our French was limited. We enjoyed our experience here!

Solomon D.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Simple food, but probably about as close to perfect as you can get! We were just looking for breakfast but didn't know how much of a treat we were in for. 3 simple breakfast options - generally some combination of drinks, bread, and eggs. Breads were a random assortment that came out with apricot, fig, caramel, honey, and butter. All were delicious. Some of the bread was a bit hard. Eggs were omelette, scrambled, or fried. Yolk was nice and orange. Came with some combination of bacon, cheese (not the cheese you get with eggs normally but a piece of brie and a piece of something that I couldn't identify) as well as some cured meats. Also had a green salad that had fennel seeds and some dressing on it. And finally one piece of watermelon. Doesn't sound like much I suppose but each and every piece of food on the plate was delicious. The watermelon was very sweet. The cherry tomato was perfectly roasted. The cheeses were delicious. Even the carrot which I think was par boiled and had two fennel seeds on it was fantastic. We sat outside but the insides were very nicely decorated. Don't knock over anything trying to get to the bathroom. It also appeared that they had literally just gone to the market that morning and bought a bunch of stuff which still hadn't been put away. Price might be a bit more than you were expecting to pay for breakfast (16E for eggs, salad, bread, cheese, meat, and a drink). Can't recommend this place enough for a simple, well rounded, shockingly delicious meal.

Lucy A.

Yelp
Do not order the house rose, it seems like they water it down. I was not happy with their Bordeaux either. The lamb shank was tres tres bon, as well as the cheesecake (had a taste from my greek partner who is a fan of cheesecakes). And the staff was nice but not too attentive.

Rupert R.

Yelp
This place is a little pricey but soooo worth it! The staff are amazing & the food is to die for. Had the Petit d'jeneuer vital. Vital small breakfast with caramel, orange marmalade, raspberry marmelade, fig jam, peach preserves & gooseberry jam. Butter. Espresso. Bottle.of water and lots of rustic breads for about €9,60. It is close to the beach and the staff speak English & French. Brunch runs €25 or you can opt for the Petit d'jeneuer with eggs or omelette for €12,90 or so. Really happy with the food here. The jams & marmelades are the best I've had in France. Bread is awesome too. Check it out!

Barry George F.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! Myself and my partner went here on the back of the great reviews we saw here on Reddit. Needless to say we weren't disappointed. The service was amazing from the moment we stepped in. Very friendly and very quick. My partner has a severe nut and fish allergy and it was dealt with very well and no problems at all. We ordered rump steak with pepper sauce and it came with delicious veg and potato gratin that was delicious. The wine was beautiful too, matched the steak very well and it was very good value for money for what you were getting. This was our first night in Nice and we will most certainly be visiting again before we leave

Sophie N.

Yelp
This place is a gem among all other super touristy restaurants in this area of Nice. Great service, people are very nice, the food is fresh and delicious, good wine selection. We will come back for sure.

Armin A.

Yelp
We stopped by this place for brunch on a Monday. We selected the 20€ breakfast which included variety of different items such as smoke salmon, croissant, homemade jams, bread, fresh squeezed OJ, choice of cappuccino/latte/tea.

Madison W.

Yelp
Love this restaurant in old Nice. On a small alley off a larger street, the restaurant is a lovely place to enjoy a late evening meal in the outdoors. The food is primarily a salad on bread - a fancy bruschetta if you will. But it's a delicious, creative bruschetta and the bread underneath is phenomenal. This is not fussy food but just well executed, fresh country food. The charcuterie plate is huge, beautiful and delicious Would come again. Service is very nice if a little slow - but is southern France... what's the rush?

Ashley S.

Yelp
This was our favorite meal in Nice, France. We got a meat and cheese plate to start which was everything we wanted - slices cured meats and aged cheese with a little salad. To drink, their house wine is only 12€ per bottle - so that was an easy decision. For dinner, we had the lamb shank - probably the beat lamb I've ever ate in my life. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those visiting Nice. As well, the staff was very friendly to Americans (we didn't find that all at establishments in Nice).

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Lamb shank is the best! Slight sweetness to the sauce nomnomnom! Safe room for dessert!

Quinn A.

Yelp
Food was good and atmosphere was nice. Outdoor seating was a little cramped and the steak was a bit small and tough but overall we had a wonderful meal and would recommend.

Maryam T.

Yelp
Best breakfast you could have. Love the collection of jams that they bring you. The girl who mange's the table is amazing too

Colleen C.

Yelp
You've arrived. Travelers: If you've felt a little lost on the streets of Nice trying to decipher one sidewalk cafe from the next, never to fear -- La Femme du Boulanger is legit. And they will be nice to you, too! Tucked just off one of the main dining streets and a short walk from the Promenade, LFB is a delight. Family-run, efficient and friendly service, and EXCELLENT food and wine. It was by far my favorite meal while in Nice. (and there were many!) A signature dish -- a huge baked potato loaded with French fare. I went for the foie gras (When in Rome, eh?) and there was just an arrangement of veg, meats and delicacies involved. It was one big delicious mess, and it was perfect. The dessert -- a nutella panna cotta, to die for. Paired with a perfectly pulled double espresso, and I could be tucked into bed a very happy lady (though then very high on sugar and caffeine, c'est la vie). Pure indulgence and divinity for this dessert course! You'll catch some of the music from nearby music club Jam, bask in the outdoors, take shelter in the quieter side street, and comfort in the fantastic food and service. Highly recommended, yelpers did not steer me wrong!

Ava H.

Yelp
YES YES YES! Some of the best food I've ever eaten. Great, unique flavors and a great location. Our waitress was awesome and service was exceptional. A must visit in Nice!

John T.

Yelp
Had dinner here based upon previous yelp reviews and they did not disappoint. Quiet side street is a welcome respite from most of the cafes in Nice on busy thoroughfares. Recommend getting the house red. Great value and essentially 2 full glasses for price of one. Two of our party had the Les Poilane Toasted bread. Very good size portions on the lighter side. Rumsteak is like rib-eye. They cooked it to perfection. Pepper sauce was a nice compliment. Sea bream is a white fish. Very boney. Not worth the effort. This place is very busy for dinner. We got there right st 7pm and by 730 it was packed. Two wait staff were getting behind the 8 ball by 8 pm but they were friendly and worked hard. Accordion player began playing halfway through the meal. Not affiliated with La Femme. Nice French "feel" nonetheless. 5 stars: nice location, good value, great food.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Best meal in Nice - would highly recommend. La Femme was one of the few options we found for more creative food beyond the typical "pasta, pizza, seafood" in Old Town. Plus, they actually offer vegetables, which were scarce at our other meals, outside of a salad. Glad we stumbled upon this restaurant! Quality service as well.
