Giulio and his family were the most amazing hosts! This is guest accommodation for sure - but it also their home and farm. We stayed at the beginning of March in a cottage on the downhill side of the road. Lots of stairs so just be aware. It didn't bother us but if you have lots of heavy luggage - well...you know the drill.
A beautiful private beach at the bottom of the cliff awaits with a lovely waterfall up from that at the edge of the highway. Kayaks are available. The water was warmer at the beginning of March than the Pacific ever gets even in the height of summer. The accommodation was island style casual with a lovely terrace. We were greeted on arrival with a complimentary limoncello spritz and snack. The view was incredible! We had a very nice breakfast each day with produce from their farm. We got to meet the chickens and see how these kinds folks produce the most wonderful fruit and veg in very challenging conditions. The setting is beautiful and they are genuinely nice people. This is NOT your full-service, bougie, all-inclusive, spa-products kind of place. It was historic, quiet, quaint, authentic, and a bit rustic - which is what we love. It's about a 10 min. walk to Positano town proper but I would rather be a bit outside the madness personally. Even in early March there were considerable crowds in the afternoon especially at the nearest bus stop - Sponda. Giulio helped us with great advice on catching the Mobility Bus though - which is your best bet for getting around. If we ever find ourselves back on the Amalfi Coast we hope there will be a spot around their campfire for us.
