Hugo spritz and the Seafood Risotto were perfect! Overflowing with clams, mussels, prawns and calamari in a beautifully thick and flavoursome emulsion. Worth the 22EU price tag because it was a very large and incredibly fresh dish

Google
Excellent hugo spritz. Came here on a Thursday afternoon at 3pm. Kitchen was about to close but we were just in time. We had different seafood pastas only and they were huge portions. My friend had black noodles with shrimp and i have one with cheese and monkfish. Waitress was friendly and fast. She did not bad an eye for my friend ordering a coffee late like most Italians do, so that's a plus. Didn't feel rushed eating here at all. Definitely recommend.

The food here is amazing! We came back again because it’s so good and affordable. Best Hugo I’ve had!! Gnocchi is a must try here! Cacio e Pepe and margarita pizza is so delicious, just all around great!!

Google
Authentic, excellent food. Also very good glutenfree Pizza. This was a recommendation of a local, we are very happy and come again

Google
Foods were so great!! I couldn’t take a pic for the Calamari fries but it was the best!!

Google
The food was good. They had gluten free options. When the bill came a copertox2 was listed and they wrote on top of the bill that service was not included. The minimum additional tip was 10%. I’m still very confused by what to tip and if coperto covers it or not. I wish they would standardize this. I do not want to drive prices up for locals by overpaying. Also, I understand wait staff are paid much differently in Italy than the US. In Italy there are benefits, salary, and six weeks paid vacation. In the U.S. we tip higher because wait staff are hourly minimum wage with no benefits or vacation. Anyway, our lunch with one appetizer, two mains, one cocktail, two desserts and two coffees was about $93 with the additional tipping.

Google
Nice little restaurant in Sorrento Italy. We dropped in for a quick dinner before getting home. Reasonable prices with good food. I had spaghetti with tomatos and I found it really good. The pizzas and gnocchi were also good. Staff were busy but reasonably friendly. Definitely a good place for dinner without the outrageous tourist prices charged at many of the other places. I would recommend!

Google
They were lovely here. Friendly servers, good portions and the pasta we had was very tasty with fresh seafood. They didn't rush us even if they were about to close the kitchen when we arrived either. Reasonable prices too. I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Avoided the ridiculous hotel laundering prices and instead walked next door to this restaurant to do laundry. Decided to get a bite while I waited and boy was I in for a sensationally cooked meal. The grilled calamari had a distinct slight smoky char mixed with lemon taste unbridled by any of the heavily breaded so called calamari I've ever eaten back in the states. The margarita pizza,, truly a blessing disguised as a typically pedestrian uninspiring order, boasted the organic flavors of its fresh ingredients cooked to perfection in their wood oven. Perhaps it's my Las Vegas Strip prejudices, but don't be fooled by the inelegant atmosphere or intimidated the noisy street next to the restaurant but even these potential criticisms are squelched by noting that the city street is lined with unexpected' orange trees!

Yelp
We ate pizza at this restaurant and it was strictly fair . The restaurant was dated and not overly clean. The service could have been better . The staff wasn't overly friendly or helpful. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There are to many better options in Sorrento.

Yasmeen J.

Yelp
Amazing pasta...best we've had in Sorrento (and we've had a lot). Not touristy and the food had FLAVOR, something we've missed in a lot of food in Sorrento. Service was kind and the atmosphere gave local, family, and casual. We'll be returning for a second night. We had the Bolognese and the Pomodoro pasta. Would recommend!

Ray A.

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience. The Marg pizza was fantastic and the pesto ravioli was to die for. It had a lemon taste the developed about 3 seconds after taking a bite. I mean Wow! This by far was the best restaurants in Sorrento for me... I can't wait for my return to Sorrento!

Yelp
After four hours in transit, my friends and I stopped by another restaurant for dinner. When they turned us away we came to La Fenice, who kindly let us dine even though they were about to close. Fate was surely on our side that night. Not only was the food cheaper, it was delicious!! Two of us got the cavatelli with swordfish and scarmoza. The portion was big but it was so good that we both finished it. The melted cheese and occasional bit of swordfish were a perfect pair.

Michael B.

Yelp
Wow!!! The gluten free pizza is insane. Gnocchi incredible. Really good service. Friendly.

Viola K.

Yelp
Locals recommended this place and I regret we didn't come here sooner. The place is typical Italian family style restaurant with plenty of fish choices and great pizzas. We took to go and enjoyed it

Candace L.

Yelp
We had stopped by La Fenice the night before we dined here and turned back, then our hotel recommended them for seafood the next day and we walked right back :) Honestly, after all of the pasta we'd had this week I couldn't have been more thrilled to see their veggie bar (tons of delish veggies) my friend and I both had large plates full before our entrees arrived. I had the seafood linguine and she had a grilled fresh fish (which was fun, picking the actual size and fish for prep - super fresh!). Delightful lunch!!! Wouldn't rule out returning again in the future.

Yelp
this was one of the best restaurants i have ever been to! the steak with cheese sauce and gnocchi were the best me and my family had had on our 2 week trip to italy and the service was great!

Yelp
We were tired and hungry after a long journey from Texas to Sorrento. It was almost closing time but they seated us promptly and gladly served us. Food was good and fresh. We ordered The Italian Fries & Calamari & Shrimp for antipasti. Delectable. The fries were a surp because we didn't know what to expect. It was little fried balls of fluffy but crisp potato and some other things that looked like a battered and fried flower with stuffing. Delish! For The main course I had the steak in Gorgonzola sauce and my daughter had the ravioli. The steak was cooked medium as requested. It the cut was a cheaper thin cut of sirloin. I was hoping for ribeye or t-bone. I Guess i need to go back to Texas for that. The ravioli was excellent. My other daughter had a pizza, which was also on point. The girls ordered cocktails which they didn't care for. 1. Because they ordered piña colada's and expected frozen slushy type of drinks. They were mixed drinks. Again we aren't in the states so this is something we need to understand. 2. The drinks were strong. They're not heavy drinkers so they couldn't finish the drinks. Other than the expectations of an American in Italy not knowing what is customary here and what we are used to, the food and service were good. The staff was friendly and spoke English & some Spanish which worked in our favor because we speak fluent Spanish.

Araceli G.

Yelp
Customer service was not the greatest. Place was not busy but it took them about 15 min to acknowledge us, we were about to walked out when someone came to greet us.

Chad B.

Yelp
Loved this place. The staff were the nicest I experienced in Italy. The spaghetti carbonara was perfectly spiced and the lasagna was delicate, rich and light all at the same time (I know that doesn't make sense but you have to try it to understand). I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Sorrento!

Geoff M.

Yelp
We hired a driver to take us down the coast and when we asked for a good restaurant he suggested this place- and he was right!!! The lasagna was sooooo goooood! It was thick with meat and lots of cheese and just so good! The fish was hand trimmed for you at the table and was delicious in the sauce! The wine came with peaches in it- what a nice treat since I love peaches and used this as my dessert! The only bad thing is it was located near a hospital so there was a lot of sirens going by... so I do not recommend this place for a romantic evening but if your hungry you should stop in!!!

Michael L.

Yelp
This was the first Italian seafood restaurant we hit in sorrento. Portions were on the moderate. Very fresh seafood. We ordered: Fruitti di Mare: pasta with clams and mussels. Didn't blow me away like I expected. Mussels w/garlic: a nice appetizer. Simple and a nice amount of mussels. King prawns: I think my wife expected something different. It was just four big prawns in a red sauce. I think she was hoping for pasta to be served with it. Service was good like all the restaurants in Italy. A little pricey and not great bang for your (euro) buck. But decent food nonetheless.

Yelp
The dining experience at La Fenice was one of the highlights of our meals on the Amalfi coast. The service was attentive and personalized. the seafood was fresh, caught that day, and we could see the fish we would be eating before it was prepared. I was especially pleased with their attention to detail with gluten-free preparation. I informed the waiter I had celiac disease. He took it very seriously and without any further ado he assured me they had a separate gluten-free prep area and fryer. Our aperitivo was fried calamari and small finger-sized fish (wish I knew the name), prepared with gluten-free breading for the table, and was delicious! Everyone loved it. They provided gf bread for me. The main course, grilled sea bream and swordfish, was top notch. Overall a wonderful meal highlighting the bounties of the sea off the shore of Sorrento with wonderful Italian hospitality!

Yelp
I've been in sorrento twice so far. At La Fenice was probably where I could experience the best dinners. Go for the seafood, but it's pizza and other pasta are good too. The only thing that I do not recomend is the dessert: the gelatos throughout the city are better It's prices are fair for a very turístic city (you should expect a similar pricing to Rome, though sorrento is a small city) but for sure the price worth

Rollins L.

Yelp
Eh. For a restaurant in a tourist town, it's fine (I give the overall experience 3 stars). I give the gnocchi with salmon 2 stars. Hard to find good places to eat in this fisherman town gone tourist...

Sabrina R.

Yelp
This place is so good that i decided to give it my first POSITIVE REVIEW. It's legit the best place I have ate in all of Italy!!! If I could give it higher than 5 stars I would! The waiter was sooo funny and sweet. The food was AMAZING, definitely get the lasagna, it was a great portion and the best pasta I've ever had. LOVE THIS PLACE, wish I had the time to come again before I left. Definitely visit here, I promise you will not regret it!! It's amazingggg loved it!

Julie M.

Yelp
The restaurant is business casual. The food is fantastic! They are known for their seafood and they did not disappoint! We made a reservation on a Monday in December & visited at opening @ 7pm. The staff were friendly, attentive and very busy. We highly recommend!

Joe K.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant mushroom risotto, linguine & seafood, and clams. Excellent wine from Sicily

Lauren S.

Yelp
I don't know why there are so many good reviews on this restaurant. I've had mussels all over the world and these were easily the worst. They were so salty, and was the only thing I could taste, even though they were supposedly cooked with garlic & parsley. Mixed salad was very wet and was essentially a pool of oil on a plate. Eggplant pasta was ok. I stayed in Sorrento for 5 days and this was by far the worst meal.

Daniella B.

Yelp
Had dinner here while staying in Sorrento and WOW we were not disappointed! The ravioli was delicious and most of their cocktails are 6 euros....what??!?? Incredible! Definitely check out this spot for an unforgettable meal!

Janet K.

Yelp
Casual environment. The reasonable prices really blew us away. 7.50 EUR for a huge bowl of mussels in a garlic white wine sauce! The mussels were delicious and local. The pizza was good, especially at 8.00 EUR each. Not the best we've had in Italy but that's a pretty high bar! We enjoyed the Margarita pizza, but would pass on the Sausage/Broccoli pizza. I think the Broccoli was actually Broccoli Rabe and it was quite bitter. But the Margarita was good.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Disappointed with the service, very slow had to ask multiple times to get bread and various things for our table. When the check came it was hard to read what each item was and it was not clear that there was a cover charge

Angie H.

Yelp
I have basically been eating my way through Italy and this is my absolute favourite so far!! I've been back 3 nights in a row! Their Caprese salad is unbelievably good and I also had mussels, grilled squid and pasta. Extremely friendly staff, reasonable pricing and great atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and check it out if you're travelling through Sorrento!

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
We were referred to the place by our B&B host. After a long day of sightseeing, we were famished and headed out. We asked for Nello and were greeted with a nice glass of Prosecco. Then.. the long wait. Long time to take our order, long time to prepare our food. They did not check on us, it is like they forgot about us. However, once the food arrived, the food was exceptional. My pasta was mega hot (temperature), which I love and appreciate. The food was totally amazing. If the customer service had been better, I would have rated 5 stars. I am now in Florence and the food is nowhere near the level of Sorrento. Anyway, I recommend you go when you are not so starved since your wait will be very long. You will also have better options earlier, since certain food items can run out.

Lawrence G.

Yelp
La Fenice offers well-prepared and classic coastal Campanian fare. The dishes are flavorful and tasty, and the staff is courteous, professional, and attentive. The location is unfortunate, as it is situated alongside a major vehicular thoroughfare, though the outside seating is still quite nice. Stick to the local seafood classics and you will not be disappointed.

Samantha L.

Yelp
La Fenice has the very best seafood in Sorrento! I was recommended this spot the first night I was in Sorrento, last November (yes, I visited for the first time in November - I know...a little silly), but needless to say it was still an amazing trip. Returned to the seaside this past August with a lot of friends, and of course made our way for a big family dinner at La Fenice one night. Not a disappointment to be found. We had an incredible time, great house wine, amazing seafood, everything just perfect. Not only is the food great at La Fenice, but I found myself surrounded by more local people there. It's off the main tourist square trap, and a little quieter and relaxed than most in Piazza Tasso. I would highly recommended La Fenice to anyone visiting Sorrento looking for excellent seafood. It's a bold statement, but its quite easily my favorite restaurant in Sorrento ---- besides Nonna's kitchen ;-) Baci e abbracci!!!

John P.

Yelp
After our early evening wine by the coast we did some shopping. While shopping I would ask the shop owner for their recommendation for the best lasagna. Two times we were suggested to try this place. I would agree the lasagna was delicious. If your in the area and are looking for good lasagna, I suspect you'll find it in a lots of restaurants, but you can be assured that La Fenice lasagna was very good! Give it a try!

Nathan D.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a recommendation from a local. Best food out of our 4 day stay in Sorrento (we also ate at la Lanterna, Fuoro, and Tasso). Very reasonably priced for the quality of food and fantastic service!

Gandolfo F.

Yelp
Excellent! They make you feel at home. The food is delicious. The best in Sorrento. We ate at this place a couple of times after it was recommended by our bus driver and they did not let us down. It's where the locals eat. Good seafood. It was out of our way, we were in San Agnello but it was well worth the Trip.

Stefan B.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant in Sorrento. Our waiter showed us a gluten free menu right away once he heard my wife has an intolerance. We shared a sea food antipasti dish which had a nice selection of seafood. We had grilled fish and a seafood risotto as a main with some veggie side dishes, both very nice (especially the risotto). Desert was nice too. Recommended!

Denise F.

Yelp
Amazing food. Our server was great and had a great personality. Highly recommend for fresh seafood and fish.

Matt G.

Yelp
Poor service! We were seated outside at a wobbly table that happen to be on a sewer drain. The waiter was completely uninterested and inattentive. The king prawns, mussels marinara and risotto milanese were average at best. Fried calamari was rubbery. House red wine was not good. Overall poor experience.

Native S.

Yelp
Don't eat in any restaurant in the main squares in Sorrento. If you want amazing italian food look for La Fenice. We were there in August for one week and we went there 3 nights. We would have gone more if we found this place earlier. The wait staff is very friendly and the fresh, homemade and authentic. WE LOVED THIS PLACE. We even took some business cards to give to people we met at our hotel. Too bad I can't give them more stars in this rating.

Clau B.

Yelp
This restaurant was suggested to us by our hotel. The service was excellent, and the food was very good as well! My sister and I ordered vegetarian: the gnocchis and risotto with mushrooms and the mushroom pizza! The food was amazing, especially the gnocchis and risotto. I would def go back! We also got a free le moncello drink, pretty cool! Free bread here as well!
