So how do we start this? Coming from a Hispanic Background I would like to think. I know what good. Hispanic food is when I taste it. and this food is amazing. I had the pleasure to try out some new tacos on the menu. Let’s just say I know where I’m gonna be coming to Lunch every day. And what makes this place even more amazing. Is the staff how They greet you and treat you like family. As soon as you walk to that door. Let’s get back to the food. First to my surprise. the tortillas where my favorite color red The meat was season and cooked to perfection. And I can’t express how much I like, cheese. But to me, they were two things that stood out that normally don’t, and other places their beans, tasted like there were home-cooked by my mom, and the hot sauce was amazing.

Google
Everyone is very kind and provide amazing customer service. I had the vegetable fajitas. Seasoning was so good. It was over powered with bell peppers. Next time I’ll get more zucchini less bell pepper. Other than that it was yummy!! 😋

I stopped by La Finca for lunch this week and had the seafood enchilada dish-it was remarkably delicious! The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and the portion was generous. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a perfect midday break. On top of that, the server was incredibly friendly and kind, making the experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be back—great food, great service, and an all-around wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend!

Google
We were looking for Tamales in our area and came across La Finca. Shout out to Jazmin, an awesome and knowledgeable server. She was absolutely right about the Corn Tamales. They were delicious! The Chicken Tamales were a little dry that is why I gave the food 4 out of 5. The Taco, rice and beans were good, as well as the Beef Burrito. We also enjoyed the Homemade Flan and Fried Ice Cream. The Bomb Pop Margarita is a must try! We will definitely go back!

Google
We were headed to a concert and stopped by for a bite beforehand, and google led us here since it was near the venue. Food was 5/10 service... 3/10. My sandwich buns were super stale and hard. You can tell they threw it in the microwave to soften the bread, and by the time it got to me, it was hard bread with crumbs of avocado. Tacos were basically meat dipped in bbq sauce. Overall, I didn't enjoy my meal. Waste of money. Next time, I'll just get vendor food from the concert venue. It'll be equally low quality and overpriced as here.

Google
Stumbled across this wonderful place and was not disappointed at all. Food was delicious, the service was top notch, atmosphere was amazing. I’ve been to a Hispanic restaurants and they pale compared to this one. Looking forward to coming back!

Google
Y’all…this place is so 🤤 yum! The atmosphere is open and light, the staff is always nice and courteous, seating is plentiful and comfortable (they also offer outdoor seating), but the food!! The food is so amazing!! I have pictures veggie nachos (which I asked for…it’s not a menu item) we’re so delicious! Veggies were grilled to perfection and the queso is, hands down, the best I have ever had!! If you’re looking for a different place to explore Mexican food…give La Finca a try! So yummy!!

Google
Food was good, the restaurant decor and atmosphere were amazing and the service was fantastic. The only real complaint I have was the presentation. I really do. Eat with my eyes and when the food arrived I was a little disappointed. It just looked like something I plated at home and sat down at the kitchen table. I know this doesn't affect the taste of the food but it does take away from the whole experience and that's what I enjoy about eating out.

Yelp
This place was surprisingly pretty good! It's unassuming from the outside, but we really enjoyed the food and drinks. The prices are a little high for your standard Mexican fare, but it seems to fit the area as the whole neighborhood feels high end.

Maitrayee D.

Yelp
Great food we were 12 of us . Very friendly waiter .Ordered a variety of food . Delicious and full of flavor . Very tasty .My only complain was my chimichanga was not fried .

Cheryl R.

Yelp
I ordered a taco salad. It clearly had been made and frozen beforehand because the plate was hot but the inside of the taco salad was cold. It must have been refrozen because there was liquid from the water frost on the bottom.
google avatar

Sabrina D.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and the servers spent more time on their phones than serving us. Not only that, I have a fish and shellfish allergy. I called ahead and asked if they had separate cooking surfaces and fryers for their seafood and asked about cross contact concerns. They assured me that the fish and shellfish were handled separately. Well, that doesn't appear to be the case, because I had an allergic reaction after we ate. We won't be returning.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and we were so very impressed!! Absolutely delicious Mexican quality tasting meals! The carne asada was spot on tender and amazingly juicy! You could cut it with a fork! No knife required at all...just amazing and super flavorful! It came with sides of delicious charro beans, rice, lettuce, and guacamole. We also ordered a large guacamole that was super fresh and so amazingly delicious as was the birria quesadilla!! Everything was wonderful!! Would most definitely order from here again!!
google avatar

Whitney G.

Yelp
We stopped by here on a whim to get our craving for Birria tacos satisfied. I'm glad to report they were delicious! The cheese was melty and the meat was perfectly cooked. We also orders the chimichangas with seafood which was filled with scallops and shrimp. The flavors worked really well together and I would order that dish again. Service was prompt and courteous. The flowers on the table were situated in different Tequila bottles which I thought was cute. They have a lunch special that is a bit less expensive so I would like to come back and try those options.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
The food was ok. I tried the burritos. Beef was cold and it was not very flavorful. I was kind of expecting something more but was disappointed. I'm going to try them again to see if it was maybe an off day.

Yelp
I have to admit Virginia is our second home so we don't get a chance to go out to the restaurants there as much as my wife and I like to. It's been a couple years since we were at La Finca but we understand there's new management. Hopefully now everything from the service, food and even high prices ($6 for 1 taco) Have improved.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Stopped here to eat on a whim and I'm glad we took a chance! Food was great (I have to recommend the guacamole and chorizo quesadillas!). The server was super friendly and attentive! She gave us plenty of time to make up our minds and came around a good amount of times to make sure we had enough to drink and eat! The restaurant itself is a little on the smaller side but looks nice and modern and even has a huge selection of alcohol. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
My daughter, her dad and I went to La Finca on Saturday. (The sign out front says new management.) My review is a high 3. Like 3.7 stars. -We walked into a beautiful restaurant. Clean and plenty of nice decor to look at. I'd love to have one of those ceiling fans in my house. Very nice looking. The people running the place were super nice, friendly, and smiley. - We ordered chips with guacamole, salsa and queso. Each one of those were absolutely delicious. We just kept eating it and she brought out more chips. So good. Salsa had flavor. Imagine! And the Guacamole was the best I've been served. Salty and fresh. - I forgot the name of my order. Hmm. But it was tasty and good. It was chicken with green/red peppers and zucchini squash. I asked they only use a teensy bit of onions and they didn't put any on the food at all. That's great! Sometimes fajitas and similar are served with more onions than veggies so I was pleased. Beans were good. I just wish there were more of them. Chicken and veggies were good. Rice was just ok. Except for the rice, I cleared my plate. My Mexican Mule was also tasty. I make those at home now too. -kids dad got shrimp tacos. That man always gets shrimp or fish tacos when we go out. - Daughter got a taco salad. Usually she picks through it and I feel like I wasted my money but not today! She ate most all of it. - We were asked if we want dessert and sure! Why not? We ordered churros alamode and a sticky toffee cake alamode. Both were delicious. Specially with that strawberry ice cream. All of the food was good. The people were great. The business was clean. But there wasn't much "Mexican" about it. Very American. Like American, American. Also more and more, when I go out to eat, the places seem empty. People just ordering take out and complain that stuff is missing or small portions. I don't know why people don't dine in more often. We love it. Good to get out and eat. - My 3.7 stars are because I didn't feel the Mexican flair. I don't know how to explain it. Also, I want more beans. Rice could be more flavorful. But we would definitely come back. We had a great time.

Yelp
Now that it's under a new administration the food and the service has greatly improved. Best plate is El Jefe and the tacos. Best drink the Long Island Ice Tea and the Margarita Flights. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the Haymarket/Gainesville areas. ***Forgot to take the picture when the plate got to me***

Yelp
I stopped in to La Finca for dinner one late afternoon. I ordered the Nachos with shredded chicken, an order of Enchiladas, and a side of Guacamole. The server first brought out some chips and salsa to munch on while I waited. The salsa was decent. The food came out in about 10 minutes. The Nachos were pretty good - the shredded chicken on the Nachos was tender, moist and succulent. And the Enchiladas were pretty good. I very much enjoyed the dark sauce (perhaps a Mole sauce) ladled over the Enchiladas. The Guacamole was rather uninteresting, it had almost no flavor. Service was good. Will check this place out again. The acoustics in the place are a bit weird - there was only 3 other tables of diners while I was there - but the place has this weird echoing kind of audio sound to it. #LaFincaMexicanRestaurant

Yelp
Great food, great service, and great prices! This place is unassuming, cozy, and clean - so glad we came here for dinner. Our waitress was really nice and funny. We were waited on immediately - chips and salsa were set on the table right away. I got a frozen margarita and the deluxe chimichanga with pulled beef. The margarita was very good and the chimichanga was covered in a delicious cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was thin but very flavorful. The meal came with a side of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream. We ordered the sopaipillas for dessert - they reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch :). Plenty of parking is available and patio seating is an option as well. Next time I'd love to sit on the patio on a nice day! Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I've been contemplating on writing this review because it has been great but there have been times there was improvement needed. I literally had this place rated as a 4 until my last two visits... They opened up recently for about a month and a half now and don't get me wrong..the food is really good! Drinks are good and they always have hot chips and salsa ready for you as soon as you sit down. I've ordered multiple entrees and have yet to be disappointed. As for the service, it has been hit or miss and most recently more misses. I know it has been a new opening but they should really think of the possibility of hiring another hand. My last visit I would be waiting for a while which I get is normal..but not for a slightly empty room. I had to get the attention of someone multiple times for different reasons. That's not really how I'd like to spend my dining time. Overall I'll continue to visit here and spend my money because of the convenience and good food and drinks. I want to see this place stick around but they really have to do better with the service.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and not sure if I'll come back. Ordered 2 ceviches to go for father's day, and I should know better and check my food befre I leave but I had waited enough and I just wanted to go home and eat with the family. My husband had asked for ceviche and we thought of trying this place. We came home to a small amount of fish ceviche. Very dissapointed, especially considering that their menu says it is a shrimp and fish ceviche. When I called to complain about the missing shrimp in the ceviches, they claimed they "chop up the shrimp and mix it in with the fish", but I looked and looned and find not one piece of shrimp. They told me I could come back for a new ceviche, but it's not like I live next door to it and I just wanted to sit down amd celebrate my husband. The fish did taste good. So my review is, pricey for the amount of food you receive $28 for 2 very small ceviches,) and make sure you check your food before you leave, especially if the restaurant is not too close to your home.

Yelp
The food was amazing all through the rice was a little cold but everything else was great. The waiter and his service was awesome. The atmosphere of the place is awesome. I kept passing by this place several times and decided to stop this time and I'm glad I did I would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Marcy B.

Yelp
What can I say, this is authentic Mexican food. The rice and beans were perfection, the flautas were delicious. The cheese with chorizo was great. I saw a lot of comments and those who prefer Uncle Julio's definitely prefer the American version of Mexican food. It is overpriced, however I imagine it's because of location. If you want good Mexican food this is the place to go. How can I be certain? I'm Mexican :), one of my pet peeves in the area is that there is no good Mex food, now there are two--La Finca and La China Poblana. If you are from Mexico and miss the food without wanting to cook it--this is the place.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal on a recent 'date night.' The chips and salsa and bean dip were a yummy appetizer. Our main courses -- the carnitas and the crazy chicken -- we're both well seasoned and served w/ generously portioned sides. We'll go back here again as the menu has lots of choices and we've plenty still to try.
google avatar

Melina B.

Yelp
Can't understand the lower reviews. We have gotten take out from this place twice now and absolutely loved it. My husband always gets the quesadilla tacos. I have tried the enchiladas and the fish tacos. They were all great. I love the beans there as well (charro and black). The best testament is that my toddler loves the mahi mahi and the black beans as well. The guac is also amazing!

Yelp
Check it out!! Quick & friendly service, clean & appealing restaurant. We ordered combo fajitas and pollo asado. Good portions, tasty, and worth the price.

Yelp
Food is good tacos birria we're awesome and you have to try Marley margarita and the staff was very nice

Yelp
We love La Finca! Always friendly service and great food! The restaurant is really nice and lots of tables/booths.

Yelp
Really good food, my 85 year old father favorite place; never been disappointed. Very nice and attentive manager. Thank you. Ps. Beef is really good and soft (carne asada) Great job.

Naven K.

Yelp
Terrible service and overall bad experience. Staff was very rude also. The environment in this restaurant is depressing.

Yelp
I've been here 4 times. All three times were great but for lunch I will skip.I ordered tamale & enchiladas. It was COLD and the tamale was nasty. Order at your own risk ! Also the service not good
google avatar

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! Probably the best Mexican restaurant in the Gainesville and Haymarket Area. Very nice decor inside and bathrooms. Everything was very clean. They have an outdoor seating by area with plenty of seating. Booths are larger and can accommodate larger crowds. The food was great and drinks were even better! I had a skinny Margarita and it tasted just like a fresh drink in Mexico. I was very impressed and will be returning soon! I highly recommend trying this location.
google avatar

Yelp
Was excited to try this new place since it just recently opened. The food is decent, but not overly amazing. Maybe expectations were too high? I got the Alambre so I could try all their different meats. Overall pretty good, but a bit salty. The steak was at least tender and not chewy, which is something I always test at restaurants. Chicken was also tender. We also got fried chimichungas but the order was wrong as they were not fried. The price feels a bit high for the quality of food. Quantity is good, pretty fulfilling. I will give them another try as I know they are new, and update my review if anything changes.

Yelp
Tested out a few margs & some dessert! 1. the house marg. It was delicious and a quality Margarita! Definitely my favorite out of the three I tried! 2. The strawberry marg. It was super good- a little but sweet for me but if you LOVE sweet drinks this is for you! 3. The Texas marg. If you do not like ANY sweetness get this marg. It has grand marnier in it. Super good & strong! 4. The desserts were yummy & came out very fast! As always our service was great, our waitress was very sweet!

Isabel R.

Yelp
Great food and great service! We'll be back! The drinks were good too - I had the hypnotiq breeze and my husband got a captain and coke. Good pours!

WM F.

Yelp
Did NOT disappoint! Enjoyed a tasty meal at La Finca this weekend. Staff was friendly and attentive. Most important, the food was delish. Salsa was smooth--just a hint of heat and not too much cilantro. Beef and chicken flautas offered a great crunch and tender meat filling. Chile relleno, filled with melty cheesy goodness, was a hit! The skinny margarita was as you'd expect--good, but not quite the punch of a regular margarita. The mango-habanero shrimp was a beautiful presentation and the sauce packed a great, sweet kick--minus a star for shrimp being really over cooked (easy fix for the kitchen, though). Sounds like the new management team is off to a promising start and we can't wait to visit again!

Lucinda K.

Yelp
Excellent food and service now that it is under new management! Best Chile reyeno. Margaritas are excellent

Lynda B.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and love the fish tacos! Tonight's meal was excellent! Our server, Jasmine was wonderful and the Margarita was fabulous! Also want to add that the restaurant is very clean.

Julia P.

Yelp
The food and the service were great. We had shrimp for appetizer and guacamole. Our entrees were great. We had Trio Enchiladas, Salmon Rice Bowl, and for dessert we had Flan. This place is highly recommended.

T. P.

Yelp
I have passed by here before but never stopped in... until today. The staff was very friendly and attentive and I love the decor (I want the ceiling fans!!). I forgot to ask how they prepare their salsa, but it was very good...not too chunky, which is the way I prefer. Plenty of chips to tide you over till the meal arrives. I had taco salad and my friend had the veggie fajitas. Everything was prepared very well, no problems at all. She enjoyed every bite and I was jealous that I didn't order the same!! My salad was good, don't get me wrong.... but fajitas!!!! Yum!! Definitely recommend you give them a try. They did a great job and we should all support our local businesses!!

Tracy D.

Yelp
My husband and I went here tonight for the first time. The service was excellent. We got our drinks and then ordered the wings. We got through most of the wings except one last one and it was cold. They immediately took the wings off of our order. My husband had a very special order for fajitas , with no onions , no peppers , no tortillas. It came out exactly as he ordered it. he said the chicken, shrimp and beef were cooked perfect and excellent . I got the soppaa and they were huge , a very generous serving ! I took most of them home. We will definitely come back.

Kevin J.

Yelp
Great Mexican food and great service but very loud. I had the carnitas and my wife had a combination platter. The server was very attentive and it was more food than I could eat. Add the pickled jalapeño for $1.
google avatar

Alexandra L.

Yelp
The food wasn't great, but our service was wonderful. It was an off time so there were only a few tables filled, so not sure the service would've been as good on a packed night. The taco salad was pretty bland. My friend ordered her ribeye medium but it came out well done and was dry. The chips were a bit overdone and El Jefe was mediocre. The queso and salsa were pretty plain too. Honestly wouldn't come back here. I know they're trying with the new management and the ambiance is nice, but the food isn't something I'd recommend.
google avatar

Bill T.

Yelp
For being open only 5 days, this place rocks! The decor is awesome and welcoming. The service and staff were very friendly and attentive. As we understand that the food is always better when you dine in vs delivery/take out, especially for a brand new location, we decided to dine in. The queso and chorizo were outstanding! The Cheese Steak burrito was hot and delicious! I may go get another one after this review! Most people know that with a new opening, there may be some bumps along the way. I did not experience any. If there were, I always give a place at least 3-4 tries. Didn't have to with this place. They hit it out the park! ***Disclaimer*** I am not, nor have I ever been an employee of this restaurant. I just loved the food and experience! I will be back.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Every time I have come here I have loved it!!! Even during the middle of the day the food is always fresh and delicious!! There has not been a meal I have not liked. The decor is great and the cleanliness is wonderful. The staff always greets us and is always helpful. I have been there for lunch and dinner and have recommended to all my friends.

Yelp
I was so hopeful that this area would finally have a good Mexican restaurant but alas... This place is not that. Not even close either, sadly. I am giving this place one star because every facet of my meal wasn't enjoyable in the slightest. So I will break it down below. Caveat - we ordered online for pickup so that is what the review is based on. Picking up the food - was a bit of a wait, about double the time they originally said which was frustrating. I get they are brand new so I'd expect them to be busy but they seemed pretty unorganized and even more frustrating was that they got our order wrong. It's fine if it takes longer but at least make sure the order is correct. As for the food - the most important part of it all, simply put, was not very good. We all had a little bit of everything, the enchiladas, the tacos, the burritos, and every one was either bland and generic tasting or overly salty tasting. The burrito was basically an enchilada because it was packaged in the same container so it was smothered in the sauce and the filling was exactly the same... Just ground beef, same as the enchilada. I've never had a burrito with just ground beef inside and it wasn't even flavorful. The pricing - is pretty steep for what you get, per the quality of food I'd expect the pricing to be half of what it is now. I wish I had something positive to say about this place but I don't and I really don't recommend it as any other option in the area would be a better choice, in my opinion...that includes Taco Bell. Suffice to say we won't be back and will still be waiting for a good Mexican restaurant to come to the area.

Sydney A.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick lunch while in the area... the tacos were quite good. Ambience was nice and airy, not too loud and the service was friendly. Our waiter was very kind. The birria tacos were out of this world.

Yelp
Nice clean and well decorated restaurant. Ordered lunch fajitas. Position for lunch is perfect. Chips with bean dip and salsa provided with meal. Salsa is the thin type. Server was very good and attentive when needed. Music just right volume. Clean restrooms. Looking forward to trying other menu items.
google avatar

Dielle C.

Yelp
We love this place for drinks and appetizers during happy hour. My husband said they had the best carnitas he has had in this area! Our favorite Friday night haunt!
google avatar

Yasmine M.

Yelp
After a sunset stoll, we arrived for outdoor dining. Our waitress Lesley was plesasant and attentive. The taco chips and sauce were warm and tasty with a surprise bowl of refried beans. I loved my chicken enchilada, soft taco combo. My hubby had the grillled Tilapia and shrimp. Half an avocado, brown rice, and fresh salad completed his meal--all VERY fresh. Large portions, beverage refills and great service. Will definitey return to try many other dishes at La Finca. Visually appealing decor and cozy ambiance. Viva the cuisine at La Finca Mexican Restaurant!!

Yelp
Food was amazing, didn't think to take picture, nice hidden gem. Prices average for Gainesville margaritas just right! Many great dishes. Staff super friendly. Great place. We ordered steak and chicken fajitas, beef melted and easy to chew. Seasoning good. I suggested they create a signature jalapeño margarita. Very clean, oh and chips and salsa were pretty good, like mine with a bit more burn so added a homemade hot sauce and was perfect.Carnitas Burritos

Terri J.

Yelp
Delicious! The Jambalaya was so good. 22 oz margarita was also good, but the $18 price tag shocked us.
google avatar

Jenn G.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD! I love queso & this is now my TOP CHOICE! We took our kids also and they cleared their plates!! Can't say enough good things about this place! Everything was hot & came out quickly & the staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Super great place & CLEAN & following all COVID protocols! Check it out!!
google avatar

Marsha T.

Yelp
Fun and flavorful! Large portions! Friendly staff, only downside ...The drinks didn't have any kick to them.

Yelp
I don't know why someone recommended this restaurant to me. I went there with my husband tonight. Everything we ordered was BLAND. The Chicken tacos probably had 1 tablespoon of shredded chicken, enchiladas were bland, and the fajita steak was cut so thin it was tasteless and overcooked. Even the salsa had no flavor. I really want to support new restaurants, but this one rates a two out of 10.
