You know that feeling when you’re absolutely starving in a town you’ve never been to and have no idea where to find a good meal? That was me—LOL. I was just driving around when I spotted La Fogata on the corner. A Colombian restaurant? Yes, please—I was seriously hungry. I think my eyes did the ordering because I definitely got too much food, haha. Sebastian, my waiter, was incredible—super friendly and attentive. And the food? Absolutely fantastic. It hit the spot perfectly. I was so full I wasn’t sure I’d make it back to my hotel. Totally useless and ready for a nap. The staff was amazing, and the food was so good that I came back the very next day for dinner. Highly recommend this place!

Google
A terrific surprise and a great find! All three of our proteins were expertly prepared: The chicharon crispy, the steak nicely rare and flavorful, and the tongue scrumptious! Thick moist slices. Never mind the workmanlike ambience, the food is terrific and the welcome warm.

Healthy, fresh and Whole Foods. Very well seasoned. Rice and beans you can’t go wrong. Best Spanish food in Pittsfield. Great drinks!

I haven't had food from here in a very long time. I decided to do a pickup order, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My daughter got french fries, & she said those were very yummy. I had the Bandeja Tipica, and everything was just so good.

Wow. A gem in Pittsfield. Sitting in plain sight. The neighborhood revamping with the sidewalks and streets and the addition of some, we're open flags brought our attention to this incredibly delicious dining experience. Whether you're passing by or have the inclination to make this a destination for your lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed. incredible food super portions and great dining staff.

We were greeted and served in a warm and professional manner. Our lunch was classic Columbian simple fare, prepared very well and delicious. We look forward to returning.btw..the chorizo was excellent.

I was at this restaurant for a walk in order. The cashier told me it will take 10 minutes. I left the store to seat in my car for a lot over than 10 minutes only to get back to restaurant and discover they had not even started preparing the order. Now I ask why has my order delayed when you preparing orders for all these Spanish guys who came after me. They called me rude. Had it had been not my wife’s order I would have claimed for a refund.

My son and I went to La Fogata after a day of snow tubing. Recommended another restaurant but we wanted to try something unique and we have a wonderful Latin American restaurant near us so figured we’d give it a shot. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. There were only 2 other tables eating at the time. After we were seated, we didn’t see any staff for 20 minutes (aside from a woman who quickly dropped some sauces at our table). Finally, I walked up front and asked a waitress for water and to take our order. She came right over. From there, it was probably another 40 mins until the food came. In that time, we saw the waitress once. When the food came, it was cold and tasteless. I ordered the Encebollado Salvadoreño and my son ordered a cheeseburger. My steak was cooked correctly but literally had no seasoning and was tough. The beans were bland on top of being cold. Not sure if we had an off experience but this was a solid 1/5 star experience for us.

Yelp
La Fogata served scrumptious, hearty Colombia food with generous portions at a somewhat elevated price. The restaurant had some lovely paintings, traditional bags, flowers, and other decorations. We were excited to try some traditional Colombian food, and appreciated the diversity of the menu. We ordered the bandeja tipica and the arroz con Camaro was, which was more than enough for two adults and two toddlers. My favorite was the arroz con camarones, as the yellow rice was wonderfully spiced and flavorful. The shrimp were delicious, and the tostones in both dishes also scrumptious and not too dry. The bandeja tipica's steak was cooked just right, that is to say not overcooked and still tender. The pork belly was too fatty for our taste, but it had a crispy texture and was well-seasoned. For their amount of meat and overall portion, the prices were fair to slightly high. The service was pretty good. We enjoyed our experience, but probably wouldn't go out of our way if we were in the area again.

Yelp
Surprisingly quiet for such a good restaurant!!! Portion sizes were great and food was amazing

Yelp
Tasty and fun! I had steak with chimichurri sauce, fried plantains and salad; hubs had a combo platter with steak, pork belly, rice, beans, plantains and a fried egg. Ambience is colorful with fun Latin music and art. We would def. go back!

Yelp
Delicious authentic Colombian food. Best empanadas I've EVER had!! Staff is so sweet and accommodating as well.

Yelp
Amazing food, wonderful service. The chicken and steak was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice as well. Would come again!

Yelp
Looks small and like a take out joint from the street. Once you enter you see the beautiful dining room, full of art and table's adequately spaced apart. Service was friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the arroz con pollo and it was perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. With dinner I had a caipirinha. Delicious! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who like authentic Latina cuisine you would love this place. Anyone who is cuisine curious ought to give it a try.

Yelp
Food and services was excellent. We had a great time. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Yelp
Probably should be a 5 star review... Just a few small things, to get to perfection for me, like not many beverages to chose from on the menu, for example. The food and service were excellent certainly better than very good. Service was fast and professional and pleasant. We had 2 different servers taking turns the entire meal and both were very good. The portions were incredible and meals were great value for the price. We ordered 1 beef and 1 chicken empanada to start and then I ordered the the Arroz con camerones and my friend ordered the Bistec Encebollado. Both meals were filling and tasted fantastic. I even took home 1/2 the portion and it will easily be another meal. The steak was cooked perfectly and you were asked how you want it, after ordering. The sautéed onions were so great alone and then a bite with the steak - wow. Rice and beans were flavorful and fantastic. Both meals we selected came with a small salad to start and we elected for the house dressing - which was like an oil and chimichurri together. It was good. The side sweet plantain with both of our meals were prepared just how i like them: cooked great and not overly sweet or sugared or sauced. I will return and I would recommend.

Yelp
I went to La Fogata with my family last night (party of 6) based on its high Yelp rating. As per usual, Yelp ratings don't disappoint- this restaurant was the real deal- legit good eats here! If you're a food-lover and are in the mood for Latin American cuisine, look no further. The ambiance is good but not at all fancy. If you want air-conditioned comfort and a plush dining room, this is not the place you're looking for BUT if you want good eats in a casual atmosphere to share with other Latin American food enthusiasts- this is the place for you! The service was prompt, the food quality was superb and the flavors were on-point. No pretense here- just good eats made proudly. Bravo La Fogata- you're doing it right!!

Yelp
I came here alone on a Wednesday for lunch. I ordered 4 sides-fried green plantains, rice, beans and avocado. I also got a mojito. The food and service were excellent. The dining room and entryway were tastefully, simply decorated and clean. I highly recommend though prices for the sides(delicious) seem to be high.

Natalia S.

Yelp
Excelente servicio!

Yelp
Great place! Very good service. Good margaritas. The beans that come with most meals are very good. Had the Chicharrón appetizer. Very crisp and tasty. For meals had the Carne Asada, cooked to medium rare as ordered, which in itself is amazing (Most places overcook steak but not here). Tasty. Meat was a little tough though. Grilled pork chop, tasty as well. They forgot to bring out the appetizer prior to our meal so they comped it!! Totally unexpected. Will definitely be back. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Four of us ate there last evening for the first time, and we are definitely going to return. Everything was 5 star: Staff was very friendly and helpful Food was very reasonably priced Portions were generous (our friends took some of their dinner home) And, most importantly, food was delicious! Plan on eating there again in a couple weeks when we're back in Pittsfield for theater. GO!

Yelp
This is an absolutely amazing restaurant featuring a variety of cuisine from Central & South America. You'll find a variety of beef, chicken, pork and seafood options - all are delicious. The interior of the restaurant is very well maintained and the staff are excellent. Highly recommend this locally owned and operated gem in Pittsfield!

Yelp
Garlic Tilapia was pretty good and made for a good meal. Definitely make use of the sauce containers to add some zing.

Yelp
What a great spot! My friends and I were looking for a place to meet up and i looked at this place and we decided to check it out. So glad we did! The food is made fresh to order. The drinks were refreshing and delicious. The food, oh man don't get me started, my steak was so tender and everything was flavored to perfection. I love the sweet plantain with the beans. And my friends loved their food too. Our waitress was very nice too!

Yelp
This restaurant is a little gem! At first glance it looks very simple, but the service and food were top notch! All the food we orderd wasnauthentic to taste. We will return to delicious place. We learned that you can't judge a book by its cover 100%

Yelp
Great food. Excellent service. The steak lunch special was amazing. Don't miss the empanadas and sauces!

Yelp
We were staying in Stockbridge and restaurant choices are slim. Decided to try this Columbian restaurant in Pittsfield which is very close. Absolutely worth the trip. Fresh guacamole and warm chips. New York steak was to die for, plantains were mouth watering. My husband had the Ceviche, wonderful with yellow rice and beans. The salads were fresh. Would absolutely return if we are in the area again.

Yelp
I have been wanting empanadas for months. I've been driving everyone nuts. Went on Yelp and saw La Fogata review. I pass it every time I go to see my brother at BMC. Today I stopped and boy are the empanadas great. Thanks for the suggestion.

Candi C.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go!! Food is cooked to order and delicious! My son loves it there! We have been going there for well over 10 years now. My favorite is the owner is super nice and hospitable! Portions are very good!!

Yelp
Amazing carne asada steak with generous portions and excellent service - definitely recommend!

Yelp
So delicious! I'm a vegetarian and I literally ordered everything off their sides menu and it is all so delicious! The avocado salad had so many perfectly sliced pieces of avocado on high quality lettuce! Definitely would order again!

Yelp
We stopped in at 5:00 on a Tuesday. No wait, seated quickly in the back room nice and quit. Waitstaff was pleasant and timely. I'll skip the blow by blow and say we were all underwhelmed. I had the beef tongue, it was segmented and marbled.. really threw me as the only tongue I've had was very consistent in texture and almost a dense patte' consistency. They three other meals were just so-so. We've never had Columbian cuisine before but image it could be amazing. Off night/ we missed the subtleties??

Sharon L.

Yelp
Excellent food I love the peasant rice. I always order it. The empnadas are good too.

Yelp
Great meal, cozy atmosphere. Service was also really attentive. Authentic Colombian cuisine

Yelp
Just moved back to the area and was very excited to see a Colombian restaurant. My finance is Colombian so of course I love the food they cook. Lol .. The food was very tasty and came out excellent . Only complaint is it's a little weird set up inside but I for sure would recommend this place if you like Latin food especially Colombian food. The service was ok I definitely will be ordering again there in the near future.

Yelp
Delicious food and excellent, friendly service; would definitely return. Ordered Arroz Con Camarones, . Arroz Con Pollo, and Red Snapper.

Yelp
What a great find in Pittsfield. The food was very good and the service was very friendly.

Yelp
Am very pleased with first time visit yesterday and first taste of Columbian cuisine. The luncheon beef stew was delicious, complemented with a tasty plaintain, and steamed rice. The mixed salad side-order of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, onion, and dressing was fresh and tasty. Reasonably priced, a value. Ambiance is clean and simple.

Yelp
I noticed this friendly spot and decided to give it a try. We had several fresh, delicious and plentiful takeout meals. I can recommend the fish in garlic sauce, carne asada with rice and beans. The sweet plantains were a nice compliment as well. Real comfort food this winter! Very helpful, order ahead.

Yelp
I loved Caribbean food when I lived in NYC. I was addicted with all the great food I had there and I had always been looking for more since I moved to Berkshire. Unfortunately La Fogata did not impress me at all. Pork was greasy, hard and salty. Plantain and black beans were bland. Price was even higher than some great restaurants in NYC. Maybe not fair to compare it with NYC but that is my true feeling.
google avatar

Yelp
First time!! Had the Arroz con camarones and it was incredible. Also had the yuca frita and would highly recommend...i had them plain. Great fry and consistency perfect. Crispy outer, fluffy inside. Will definitely be back. Update: Even better the second time !!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the Bandeja Tipica Pequeña, a delicious steak plate lunch special, and I recommend it! Service is friendly and attentive. Next time I'm in Pittsfield, I'll be back!

Young O.

Yelp
Never had Columbia's food before but was delicious. Only issue was some of the food seems a bit over cooked and difficult to chew at times. However, even with the chewiness, the flavor was great. Loves the sauces as well. Definitely will go back!

Yelp
My family went on a Mini-mid-pandemic getaway to the Berkshires. The first night we were in town we got takeout from La Fogata located in Pittsfield, MA near an "innovation center." I ordered the sancocho de Gallina which was incredibly flavorful and surprisingly filling. My husband ordered the Carne Asada, which was huge and fed him for two meals. My son got both beef and chicken empanadas, which were delicious. My daughter got the kids chicken fingers with fries. The chicken was so good and crispy (yes I stole one!), but the fries were not very good. Sometimes fries are not good if you can't eat them fresh from the deep fryer. If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would just take away half star for the fries not being fantastic like the rest of the food. We also ordered the chips and guacamole. The fresh tortilla chips, the salsas and the delicious chimichurri were the highlights. I think I could eat that chimichurri on almost anything. I definitely recommend checking out this spot if you are in the area and are craving some central American food. Get ready for huge portions and lots of flavor.

Yelp
One of the more authentic cultural food services around. Never disappoints! I totally recommend the Arroz con Polo (Puerto Rican rice dish with chicken) Yum Yum! Try La Fogata out.

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't know about La Fogata before now, I'll have to make up for lost time. The food was delicious, the grilled chicken really excellent, the empanadas, plantains, beans and rice, even the beer. What made the place 5 star though was the very friendly, flawless service. We were greeted by everyone as we walked in and quickly taken to a table, drinks delivered in moments. The chef prepares the food at an open kitchen, the server was informative and helped us make decisions. The restaurant is clean and there's plenty of parking. We will be back.
google avatar

Luz Mayelin H.

Yelp
I love this place! The fried plantains are amazing. All their food is really good. I would definitely recommend this place. This is not the best presentation cause I take them to go and believe me not one of them makes it home lol

Carin D.

Yelp
So delicious! Very kind staff and terrific food. We stopped in after a friend recommended the restaurant. It has ample seating and a lot to choose from on the menu. The chorizo was amazing and we were told that it was made locally. Will definitely return and plan to bring the whole familly.
google avatar

Bonnie P.

Yelp
Excellent! My husband and I were treated and seated immediately. Our waitress (and owner) was Liliana, who helped us with our selection. They have a good selection of beers and Colombian dishes! I ordered the "Arroz Conpollo", a chicken and rice/vegis dish with a plantain. It was seasoned very well, not spicy hot. My husband ordered the "Bandeja Tipica", a steak and bacon dish with beans, rice, egg, avocado and plantain. It was delicious! Our meals were served promptly and our server was very attentive! The price was very reasonable! We will definitely return!

Melissa W.

Yelp
We had a terrific dinner here tonight! It was our first time and definitely will not be our last. The staff could not have been nicer and the food was terrific. Loved the empanadas, and the beef stew and tilapia were terrific!
google avatar

Kathleen J.

Yelp
Extra yummy and authentic Columbian food. A great find. GREAT soups, empanadas and steak. great prices/value. Mom and Pop owned and operated with lots of love.
google avatar

Vanessa F.

Yelp
Outstanding. Everything was so awesome - fantastic food and service. If I lived here I would be eating here all the time. Check it out! We had carne sudado, arroz con camarones, chorizo con arepa and a side of beans. Great portions and value and just delicious.
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I have a baked chicken lunch special . It tasted like my home town. Miami. My husband has the garlic fish again so so good. My husband was so disappointed that this restaurant is so far away from Boston.

AG R.

Yelp
Staff made us veggie plates as this is a meaty place. Large drinks. No AC but it was 90 and humid. Fun place we were the only gringos there but so what lol!
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We ordered tilapia and steak. Usually when I order steak medium rare it's either over or under. My steak was perfectly seasoned and plantains, beans and rice were on point! Taste like home!
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
Rice and beans were delicious! Strip was a little tough but tasty; as I was eating it I was already making plans of returning. I was cutting the steak while sitting in my car so that could have been part of the problem. Empanadas were yummy! One star off for cafeteria fries and they got our order wrong.
